The day of my surgery one of the nurses named Ericka was with my throughout the whole process! She even played BTS for me which was really sweet. I was super nervous but she honestly helped me calm my nerves I’m so thankful for her! All the other nurses were amazing and so sweet! Dr. Varona is the absolute best! He explained everything to me and was super nice! They even bought me lunch. The whole experience was just wonderful and I’m so glad I was able to go through this journey with all of them. I searched for 3 years on doctors for hair transplantation. About a year ago I began to follow Dr. Varona on Instagram and also followed his patients recoveries. During this past year I visited 4 other FUE specialists, but in all of them something was either not truly clear or they treat me as another patient. Finally I had an appointment with Dr. Varona. Once I met him in person I realized he was not only the right person but the only one I would trust to do the job. His demeanor, his care for details, his detailed explanations and considerations, his artistry, his warmth and down-to-earth attitude won me over. On the day of the surgery I met his staff. I am very inquisitive individuals, so even during the procedure I had lots of questions to the staff and him. The staff not only share his attributes but they are also extremely well informed in every step and detail of the procedure. And they pampered me and made the entire procedure totally pleasurable. The post op directions were the cherry on the cake: detailed information and thorough coverage of what to do and expect. I am no novice when it comes to cosmetic procedures, and I have never had such an amazing experience as the one I had with Dr. Varona and his staff. I recommend him fully hearted and if I ever need other areas to be done in the future (we all age), I will have no one else but Dr. Varona to do it. I recently traveled from Arizona to California to have an FUE procedure and PRP performed. I couldn’t be more pleased with my experience. Absolutely amazing experience! As soon as I walked in, I was greeted by a friendly staff member that introduced herself. She helped me sign in, fill out all the required medical forms, and even gave me a menu to order lunch (for later) from a few different local restaurants.After taking some “before pictures”, I got to meet the doctor. The doctor is just as kind and sincere as his staff. He spent about 20 minutes asking what my ultimate goal was and also his recommendations. I was very happy with what we decided together.I was there for about 8 hours and they took such great care of me. It felt like a VIP experience only reserved for celebrities.The facility was immaculate and very comfortable. I watched Netflix the entire time on a big screen television. It has been a little over a week since my FUE procedure with Dr. Varona. I haven’t had any problems since the procedure, besides minor itching in the donor areas. I’m 2 months post surgery and so far I’m very satisfied with my results. Dr.Verona is an incredibly talented and most importantly compassionate man. He really takes the time to listen to what your goal is and is very transparent about what he can and cannot do. He does the entire procedure fromstart to finish. I saw Dr. Varona at his previous location. I dont think I can name it, but I can speak to Dr. Varonas talent, expertise and professionalism. Chris did as much for me as he could do. It cost me less than I was expecting and the results were better than I thought. Im glad he put out his own shingle. I have seen maybe six different doctors all over the world and he is by far the best with the least amount of recovery time. Id give him six stars if I could. As good as it gets.

This post comes 3 days after my surgery but I could not be more excited about my results to come!I consulted with over 50 different clinics and private practices stateside and worldwide (bit of an over researcher!) as my quest for hair restoration stems over years so, as you can imagine, finding the right surgeon was my biggest dilemma.I found Dr. Varona and upon first consultation with him and his staff, I felt comfortable and invited. I was able to ask all my questions without rush and was able to even text in case I had more follow-up questions. I did not feel that I was being sold something.After a few more questions and even a second consultation with him and staff again, I was convinced he was the right choice. I scheduled the surgery for two weeks later.Surgery day I was introduced to the staff who made the overall process painless and as easy going as possible. Keep in mind that they spent over 12 hours working on me! The procedure involves extracting from the donor area followed by incisions to place the hairs according to the flow of hair and finished by the actual placement of hairs. What I found fascinating is that him and staff did all of this manually! They were incredibly patient and awesome to work with. They provided with lunch and snacks throughout the whole day and was able to watch over a couple of movies so as to not feel the longevity of the procedure.After the surgery, I was given detailed after care instructions and was asked to come in the next day for a follow up wash and a lesson on how to properly apply the foam / shampoo / topical antibiotic ointment for faster healing. I was fortunate to develop minor swelling only but I also have been following all instructions to a T.I’m due for another follow up tomorrow and I have seen major improvement in the donor area (no visible scarring / swelling). Now I just have to play the waiting game but could not be happier to have chosen Dr. Varona and staff!I hope this review helps others in their search for the right surgeon to truly consider Dr. Varona. As a patient absolutely ecstatic about Dr. Varona’s work, I write this review considering the state of the Hair Resoration industry and the product that Dr. Varona offers that is unlike any other.My girlfriend, her son and I all had FUT (son and she had FUE) done by Dr. Varona; their’s a year ahead of mine. Even though there are many hair transplant surgeons in the Bay Area, I took a flight to have him perform the surgery after I learned the difference between Dr. Varona’s technique and most others.First, if you’re researching now, ask the practice if the doctor will be performing the actual graft placements. This is one of the most unbelievable and important differences with Dr. Varona. He not only oversee’s every part of the process of harvesting thousands of follicles that inevitably involves a team, he actually places every follicle into the patient HIMSELF. He does not leave it to his tech (whom you will most likely be told elsewhere will be the actual one placing most of your grafts). He alone placed every one of my 2600 grafts.I found out that in addition to having a tech do most of the actual surgery, some physicians don’t always know how to do the procedure at all. In these cases, they use a company like Neograph who flies in a team to do the entire surgery under that physician’s license whether the physician is actually involved and trained, or not. This seems unacceptable and legally questionable. If something goes wrong, who is the accountable party for the patient in that case?Which leads to revisions. In my visit with Dr. Varona I learned that he does many revisions for folks who ended up with subpar results because of the lack of participation by a fully trained surgeon in some cases. The cost of these shortcuts being the patient’s head and or face.Secondly, as mentioned on his website, he does ‘manual’ FUT. I learned how much that matters. Most of the time the doctor (or sometimes not the doctor) makes small holes in the scalp after which the techs place the grafts into each hole. Dr. Varona places each of the individual grafts with a tool that makes a tiny hole only big enough to hold one follicle of hair. This is very labor intensive for a physician to do.The benefit of Manual FUE or FUT is the precision of the follicle placement and the ability to pack in a denser volume of follicles to an area creating a fuller, thicker result so as to reduce a need to return for another treatment. This is far more labor intensive for him and the whole team. I don’t know of another physician that will do this.When I asked him why he does, he says he opened his own practice just for this reason. He wanted to make the call to treat only one patient the whole day to ensure the best outcome. He loves his involvement and actually enjoys the work and all the time he spends. He is meticulous. He is an absolute artist. This is the physician I want framing my new face.Many physicians run 2-3 surgeries a day, such that the surgeon spends 1/2 or 1/3 of the time with the same patient. He is living his aspiration, one thrilled patient like me, at a time.I really thought all this work on my behalf compared to what other practices were doing would have to substantially change the price I was quoted by Varona Hair Restoration by comparison. I was shocked that the cost was more than competitive. The total cost beat out some of the other quotes I received. Now that I understand what surgery the way he does it really entails, and what I potentially avoided, I would have paid far more to see Dr. Varona. It was a deal, even with a flight and an overnight.Lastly, this should not go unsaid: his whole team is exceptional and so caring. They worked their butts off on my case and I have no doubt this is their standard of care. I wish I could do more to thank this group for the outstanding work they did for me. I know my friend and her son feel the same.
