I have never been here so I honestly cant say how the place is once you go. However I am NOT one to join a place unless my questions can be answered and if they are incapable of answering the phone Im not spending money to sign up if im not going to get what I want. Online doesnt answer my questions.
Our family really enjoys this YMCA. We love the childcare and parents night out as well as the pool. One of our favorite activities is Kendras hip hop dance classes for kids which are included in the price of membership. Kendra really does an amazing job of getting a group of kids that vary widely in age and ability to come together and perform a routine. She goes out of her way to learn all the kids names and make everyone feel included even though the composition of the class is constantly changing. The only downside to this YMCA is that parking can be limited during peak hours and the parking lot on the back of the building dead ends making it hard to turn around if you cant find a spot. They do offer valet parking during peak hours but really additional parking is needed.
The facility is nice but the staff is what really makes this place. Just a lot of great energy in helping everyone improve their health. The daycare is fantastic, my granddaughter gets so excited to go to the gym. It makes working out a fun time in our day.
Environment is active. Best part is the location(full of greenary). I wish there were a bus stop(bus is going places where there are hardly any people, in comparison this place is packed). Considering the monthly rate, everyone should have a locker or they could have a wall-climbing facility built into one of the room. I guess people with kids have different experience. There are some group training as well (never tried it) . I wish they have a sitting arrangement outside to enjoy the environment. I respect Sharon who volunteers to make cookies and coffee in the morning.
I tried a few classes and enjoyed them. Friendly staff. $$$. However my health insurance allows me to have a membership for $25 to encourage fitness and health. The parking is a bit of an issue and the faculty has already over grown its capacity. I stopped taking classes here because of this. The road in and out is over whelmed with traffic when classes let out. Takes for ever to get through the four way stop sign up the road. They have so many classes going on that its challenging to use the equipment during the other time frames. I like to spin more than an hour and some times Im not even guaranteed that.Good god avoid this place during Jan and Feb! Its not even accessible!A word of caution to people weve had an issue with people stealing items and different forms of payments from lockers. Lock your stuff up. Keep your wallet, keys and phone on you and youll be fine. Only take what you need. License, phone, plastic payment and keys. I wouldnt recommend anything but that. I work at a grocery store at the bottom of the hill and kids keep trying to purchase massive amounts of gift cards with stolen forms of payments. This is a reoccurring issue.
I have been here a few month . This place is very small with too many people using ! No parking space most of time i went and spent good ten minutes to find space to park ! inefficient system. If you forget your membership card, you have to go to front desk where all the business going, new registration, information guide etc, taking forever standing in the line to just get in. When I ask person in check in desk who was not doing anything, if you can get me in with my id, she said no it is policy !! If there is any other facility near me, i will definitely go other place !This place is packed !!
I am a Brain Tumor Surviver, have been going to Coal Creek YMCA, and love it. I needed to Align my body, started doing Yoga then added Pilates and Above the Barr. I feel great today. The Yoga teachers are great, caring and making sure the students movement in each pose is correct.
This YMCA is just marvelous. Out has a wonderful sense of community, with lots of activity happening all of tge time. There are people if all shapes, sizes, ages, and cultures having fun being active, seeing friends, and just enjoying being there. It is clean, well maintained, and has high quality equipment that you rarely have to wait for access to, plus a myriad of class offerings. It is a place that just feels good to be at. Wonderful.
Other than work, i go here the most lol. YMCA supports family activities together which is a win win when raising a too healthy/Motivated 8yr old son. We enjoy the 2 full size gyms and pool w/ slide
I love the Coal Creek Family YMCA. The staff are super friendly and inclusive. They have very nice classes, from Zumba to Yoga/meditation, they have regularly events for the whole family, the 2 hours of kids care every single day of the week saved my sanity many, many times, two very nice gyms, pools, jacuzzi, lots and lots of equipments, personal trainers, wellness programs from lose weight to prevent Parkinson and all of it is included in the membership.
Friendly people! Great selection of equipment. Family oriented.
Its a pretty good place. I have been going there ever since it opened in about 2010. But they definitely need more basketball hoops. Only 4. And half of the time, there are only 2 hoops because there is Zumba in the other gym.
Many classes offered. Busy parking lot, often crowded, sometimes not the cleanest. YMCA of Seattle should consider opening an additional location on the southern East side to handle the growing population.
Great pool; kiddie pool almost as big, plus jacuzzi. Upstairs has huge array of exercise equipment & additional game rooms, matted workout room. Downstairs has 2 full size gyms and a large full-mirrored gymnastics/yoga room. No wifi: inside (esp, cement walls of changing rooms for the pool), cell phone coverage is poor. Staff are fabulous.
Nice facilities, friendly staff.Make sure and check website is theyre open during the winter if it snows.
They go out their way to make one feel welcome. Family friendly.
I just left this facility after walking in to obtain a guest pass. Let me tell you my first impression. Huge lines and ymca staff was not handling it well. For the 4 people waiting to obtain passes or anything computer related they just said when we have computers available we will get to you. Mind you not I waited 30 minutes. And still no computer. Maybe they should think about investing in more computers if they have such rush hours at night? Their customer service was bad as well. It was more not making eye contact and just side stating we cant enter while doing other things running around. No proper explanation, nothing. I wont be buying a pass here for sure
Good place for family to have fun.one of the best n newly renovated ymca branch.
Excellent service and a nice fitness and health club. Great people who are managing it. Good service
Wonderful place for my family to exercise and play. My kids love going to Y. Staff is kind and respectful. Exceptional people working at Coal creek YMCA.
Good location for me, the pool is my main area of interest and it is work just fine for me, good staff,ok hot tub and friendly people, my opinion is changing.
Very good for whole family to exercise and swim, clean, friendly, recommend
Very unprofessional receptionist. Theyre not familiar with their own policy. I wanted to cancel summer camp reservations I made for my girls today 4/ 26/16 for camp that starts in 6/27/16 and was rudely told I can only get a credit not a refund. Matter of fact, it clearly states on their site that you can cancel your kids enrollment a week before camp starts. No where on the website did it say about not getting a refund or any mentions of credit. Was literally dismissed when I pointed out that I could cancel my kids enrollment occurring to their site. Ling Turner was making up rules on the spot and wouldnt show me where it is written down.
Pretty big facility with a good sized kids room. Lots of equipment and activites on
Extremely helpful staff, very clean facility and a ton of services all at a great price. My girls love the pool and I love how attentive and efficient the lifeguards are with them.
Great facility...program...and people.
We are very happy with the facilities and services. Staff is very responsive and helpful.
I went to YMCA for the swimming class enrollment in April 2018. They charge me membership fee along with the swimming class fee at that time. The swimming class would start after one month and I thought I pre-paid membership fee for next month. The customer service representative did not clear to me that they are charging the membership fee for the current month for which I intended not to use the facility. She could tell me that I can put on hold membership for current month but did not remind me to save money. When they charge me for May 2018 I reached out to them but refuses to adjust or return any money. I thought they make me fool and took my money for April. This is not ethical business practice.I went to facility to discuss my concern that representative did not mention for which month she charged the membership fee during the registration. The manager requested me to discuss the issue in her office. She did not acknowledge that there was mistake on their end and commanded me to leave the office immediately. She was very rude and unprofessional. I am surprised that how she become the manager!!! She does not know how to behave with customer.
Friendly personnel, lots of exercise equipment, pool is clean; you can see the bottom.
Friendly, family focused. Multicultural.
I really love the YMCA very nice people and very nice
This place is very busy. The pool has no ability to accommodate more people.
As of lately, this location has become far too overcrowded. It has lost its appeal and will likely only become even more over crowded as housing developments persist.
Perfect place for activities and relaxation.
Athlit castle? anyone historian? Like all the things they have for kids, need more pet storages so I can bring my pet, or pets in. Have you ever thought of this?
The facility is beautiful, the staff is friendly, but frequently often the cardio equipment is not working - either the TVs are out or the equipment itself doesnt accelerate/incline/etc. I encounter at least one, and usually 2 or machines that dont work, before I find one I can use. This happens at least every other time I go there - and I go to there at least once a week. The only mechanism they seem to have in place to address problem is for patrons to walk back down the stairs and report a problem with a machine. They do not have a system in place to regularly check the equipment. In addition, they have very short windows for adult lap swimming. I actually drive to the Bellevue Y if I want to swim.At this point, were debating whether or not to keep our membership.
Clean however, lap pool is very crowded and too warm to get a good workout
Most of the time this place is nice and has friendly staff and it is nice, but sometimes it can be a hassle coming here and i dont believe the bathrooms are very nice at all
I like this YMCA New Castle so much its neatly and clean one
Nice staff, well maintained. I wish they had Open Swim during the weekday evenings.
Clean facility, lots of room on the equipment, nice locker room, really tinny towels.
Amazing staff, great facilities, clean and with plenty of equipment.
Dirty gross towels that looks like they where used at a mechanic shop, way over crowded and full of foreigners. Parking suck too....excpecial in the morning....
They have a weight room that MAYBE 4-5 can use at a time
Swimming Pools are too cold for both kids and adults.Kids zone upstairs staffs talked loud and gather to talk more than keep an eyes on the kids.
My only complaint is the crummy showers in the family dressing rooms and i would like to see the temp in the lap pool turned up a bit.
Clean and organized
Great staff and facility
Great pool
Great place!
Good place for everyone
Fun
Suitable for sports and leisure, friendly service,
God
