Had a great time fishing with Captains. The rods provided were easy to use but a little hard to feel bites with. Bait was readily available and easy to access. All crew was friendly and helpful. We caught a bucketful of haddock, several pollock, cod and a few other species. The Captain only moved the boat a few times and kept us on keeper size fish the whole day. He also stopped and let us have a photo op with a pod of dolphins. Would definitely take this charter again!

Captains the best, and so is their crew! The regulars are always good fun and the deckhands, once you get to know them, offer a wealth of information. I have great luck early season and have gotten my limit many times, more often than not in fact. I never have them clean my fish though because thats best done with a beer in the backyard.

In a group of 20 on a half day trip we caught 8 mackerel while we watched the captain fish with his special sabiki rig and fill his bucket. Hoped to try the afternoon striper trip to improve our luck but it was cancelled. Rest of the crew was pretty accommodating.

Great day out, the staff was great. Very helpful. I just wish they didnt move the boat as many times as they did..... too much time taken away from actual fishing. I was the only one on the boat that did not catch a fish for the day that was the disappointing part as there was a person 2 feet to the left and a person 2 feet to the right of me that caught multiple fish!I guess thats the way the luck drops.......

Our family took a short cruise to spread my grandfathers ashes. The crew were amazing and it was the perfect goodbye. I would love to come back for fishing!

So I think first off that the web page is misleading. The captains lady is not the boat we ended up going out on. We gotCaptain George which is about half the size.I didnt find the 2 crew members to be to friendly or helpful in explaining the equipment. Fishing is fishing and not catching so its understandable that sometimes its hard to find the fish .... about 5 people caught a fish 5 minutes before we docked and we stayed out about half hour past our ticketed time. I still tipped well because I know they have a job to do and aye maybe they werent having a great day either lol.I had brought cash expecting the captains lady.. space to fish.. food in the galley and maybe a few things on board to buy to promote the fishing company or the boat.On Captain George it was very close together to fish, we had 2 feet between each person and 2 extra people with no rod holders on board lol. Lines getting tangled like crazy.I have to say I went for this boat cause of my dad working for the whale watch of the same family years ago and I would give it another chance but I also would def be up for trying out another company. 🤷‍♀️

What a fun trip. Boat wasnt full so there was lots of room to fish. Deck hands were attentative. And when the weather turned sour and it wasnt safe, we docked and sat til it blew over, then they took us back out to finish our trip. We will def be going out with them again.

First time deep sea fishing and it was a blast! I caught a bunch of Haddock, ten that were keepers! They fileted them on the boat before we got back. Great time!

Fast and stable fishing boat, lots of room to fish or just hang out in the boat

Been coming here since I was a kid, always remembered good experiences. I was in town and thought Id treat myself with a all day trip. Had a blast, fish-on all day. My rod broke on a double monster cod hook up and they gave me a replacement to use without issue. Crew is super friendly. I would highly recommend them.

Caught lot of haddocks first time and they served breakfast and lunch. Ill go again for sure

Best fishing trip of my life. A friendly and welcoming atmosphere combined with high professional boat crews. The captains always know where to get a lot of fish. Fun for the whole family.

Not friendly to those that has little experience fishing. We went to a different fishing tour before and they were super friendly towards beginners, but this place is definitely not. Also overcrowded, lots of tangling, the crew smoking cigarette on deck. I’d say it’s not very family friendly and don’t expect it to be a “tour” but rather a self-served boat ride. Overall, it’s not a horrible experience but you could definitely get a better price somewhere else.

Our family has been chartering a boat from Captains for a number of years now. The experience has been very good. The crew is helpfu, the boat is clean. Theyve been able to find the fish, and everyone has caught a few keepers. The boats have been large, with an upper deck and an indoor space. They fillet the fish for you on the return trip. Chances are that you may see a whale or other sea life. On a recent trip, the galley made fish chowder from some fresh fish.

Crushed it like we do every year. The crew is nice and down to earth, the captain finds the fish and social distancing needs are taken into account. My friends and I loved our bottom fishing trip and came home with more than enough for dinner!

Good fishing 🎣 charter

Not recommended for beginners. We are a group of 4 with a full day trip in mid September for haddock and cod.Crew is not as friendly compared with previous trip at Eastman’s dock. Instructions are limited, as well as announcements from Captain. We find ourselves confused often. It’s more expensive compared to the NH area fishing trips, though driving time from Boston is about the same. The only prop is perhaps plum island, a nice beach town on a sunny afternoon, after an average trip.

Stayed in the river did not go out to the ocean. Bait was sloppy and old. No fish finder was used. Overcrowding lead to a bunch of lines tangled. People fishing on both sides of the boat which lead to more lines catching. People smoking cigarettes on the boat. They made us fish really close to the shore where shore fisherman were casting right next to us.for that I can go on shore for free to fish. Bring your own lead weights because the ones given are super light and will just float away instead of sinking to the bottom. Not worth the money.

The crew and captain were super friendly and great to deal with. The boat was very clean. I have no complaints whatsoever. We will definitely be going back.

Im not going to lie. I came here just for the parking. It was super cheap and they had s bathroom right there so I was able to park here right up front and immediately use the bathroom after my long drive. I cant fault them for anything!

This the best boats to fish on on the sea coast. Captain Gabe puts you on the fish and is a great guy. The mates are very helpfully and friendly always making sure you are all set. The boats are very clean and Megan in the galley couldnt be better.i suggest the chowder she makes on the way in made from fish caught that day which is free. So check it out you wont be disappointed.

We were out Saturday 7/23/16 full dayIt was my first time ever deep sea fishing and it was amazing! The crew were very friendly and on top of everything! The boat was very clean! And they cleaned it a few times while we were gone. They were always right there when you caught something or needed to be untangled! Sprayed your fish down and when cleaned did an excellent job! Mark is by far the best employee! He was very friendly and easy to talk to! And helped with no problem. I cant wait to go again!

Wow!! My family and I charted a boat for an all day deep sea fishing trip and we were not disappointed. The crew we had Mark, Travis, Gabby, and Dan were accommodating and extremely helpful. We had a handful of kids on the boat and every crew member made their experience just as fun. We caught over 100 keepable fish between us!! The family is already talking about booking our next trip. Went on this boat for dinner and fireworks last year (Yankie Homecoming). It was such an amazing experience for both the adults and children in my family. The staff was friendly, food was good, and we had the best spot for fireworks!! Defiantly going again this year!!

Chartered the Captains Lady for deep sea and had an amazing time. Saw sun fish, tuna, blue shark and caught plenty of haddock and cod.

We wanted to scatter my dads ashes at sea near his home town of Ipswich, MA. I Googled ash scattering services in the area and found a company that charged what I thought was a high price. I then remembered that I had fond memories of fishing with the Captain back in the 1970s. I looked him up, saw that he was still in business, and on a whim, called and asked if they had ever done ash scatterings. They had, and their price was HALF what the other people had quoted. Also, while the other people had quoted a 30-foot fishing boat, Captain Ryan took us out on the Captains Lady II, which was huge. It had a wonderful indoor area to sit in while we made the trip out to sea. Then, when he found an appropriate spot, Captain Ryan used the engines to hold the boat steady while we performed the ceremony. I cant say enough about the kindness of this group and its staff. I havent fished with them in 30+ years, but I can tell you that they really want to please their customers.

Solid fishing. Good day all around. Couple locals complained about our group. But other wise great adventure

The fishing was great. The boat is clean. So why three stars? Well the rental gear was used and abused. As one point the captain started fishing, but didnt use the boats gear. He had his own. The crew wasnt very helpful at times and seemed no where to be found. There was no place to wash your hands, or better yet dry them. If you asked for a paper towel (the crew gave a serious eye roll) and then handed a half of a paper towelId probably go again with them, but I would never use their gear, would definitely bring towels to wipe my hands on, and would not go if I had kids or anyone with little to no experience.
