Used this place many times in the past and had no issues...only reason Im giving two stars. I wanted some low sugar local grass hay in addition to the Timothy so I got a test bale and all was well, my horses ate the test bale. I ordered 3 tons of that hay. Come to find out when it arrives, there are two different types of hay from different sections of the same field. My horses will not eat the other kind that I was NOT told about nor was I given a test bale. It is visibly different hay, not to mention has a totally different smell.To make matters worse, the employees stacking the hay mixed the local and Timothy together. So I have 6 tons of interspersed hay with 3 of it that my horses wont eat. I asked that they come back, take back the local and sell me 3 more tons of Timothy instead, and Leslie ghosted me. Apparently she has no one available to work. There was additional labor involved that I was willing to pay for even though her emplyees messed up stacking it. Leslie tried to say my boyfriend said it was ok to stack that way even though he didnt say that, and stacking separately is supposedly part of their policy so it shouldnt have happened regardless. Anyway, really annoying, thats a lot of money sitting in my barn thats basically worthless to me now. And now its my job to figure out how to get rid of and move 3 tons. Moral of the story, make sure you are there when they deliver. I didnt think Id need to take a day off work for hay delivery but learned my lesson. Leslie, if you see this, I still want this hay out of here and 3 tons of low sugar timothy to replace it.

On 7/26, with 5 days hay to spare, contacted 4 sellers for pricing on delivery of local grass hay. Same questions: minimum # bales & fee for delivery (price/bale or ton was comparable as was distance to deliver - 15 miles). As I was planning to move in a month or so, I chose this seller because they didnt have minimum bales required & I didnt want to waste time stacking hay thatd be moved again. Pleasant woman who answered phone told me they charge by hour (not what & I made the mistake of not asking) for delivery and that on 8/2, they were delivering to the next street down from my stable in the morning. I decided to make it easier for them (haha!) so I put in my order for 15 bales. I actually called a few times during the process to give address, etc. and was eventually advised to text info since it was hard for them to answer calls (I called during the morning). Great! Very convenient for me!! The morning of, I texted a request for 30 minutes notice so I could meet driver at the barn. No response until after 1 PM. My husband called at 3 PM to see if hay was still coming (after we both waited by the phone all day so we could be available immediately). He was assured hay was still coming. At 5:30 PM, I received a call that staff was tired and wanted to go home for the day so could my hay be delivered next day. I was already out of hay, but luckily had a bale of hay for our guinea pigs that I could haul out to the barn as the feed store by then was closed. I OKd next day delivery (obviously livid) and my husband was at barn to unload/stack in the morning. What a surprise when I found out the delivery charge was $62.50! And the hay is well...less than decent (see pics). So I text my disappointment (after paying bill in full) and receive a reply that I should call instead, get my hay elsewhere and they can mail a $17.50 refund (I declined; would bring charge to $10/bale). Ive been loading/unloading 30 tons hay/year with nothing but my hands and a regular truck/trailer for at least the past decade so not only am I well familiar with the hay market but also have sympathy for the labor. I own a small business too, so no question that I understand that side of the table. My response to the refund was not to bother. My mistake for not sticking with a direct source (farmer) whos more familiar with doing an honest days business. My bottom line advice is to do business with ethical organizations/individuals and share experiences (good and bad) so that the bad seeds arent allowed to germinate.
