I love what the covenant house does for the youth to young adults. The age limit is 23.

Its a good place helping 18 to 21 yr olds

This place is absolutely terrible a staff got in my face a make staff and wanted to fight me while I was pregnant and they kicked me out and had me go no where with no transportation or anything made me carry my own bags to where ever I was going they would not let me wait in the front for a ride either and it was like 90 degrees outside!

I am currently a resident of this nonprofit organization. Located in Newark, NJ on Washington Street. At first, I didn’t like being at the Covenant House with all the rules and stuff but I learned along the way it’s only for the best of our safety. Without Covenant House I probably wouldn’t have been able to save money. The staff are on top of you making deposits because they want you to get out of there stable enough. Again without them I wouldn’t be able to move into my apartment soon. So thank you Covenant House, you all inspired me to work hard for what I want and I did just that.

The staff is rude the place is very dirty, the food they serve there is always burned or never done, its unfair the staff Never really help you, I was kicked out because someone spit on me can you believe that what Im trying to say it is a good place to take advantage but beware the injustice system they want people to leave everyday they kick people out everyday for the smallest reason they Will all lie to you cause its their job, I was closed to being rapped by one of the staff ladies when I went to report it no one believed me and I got a three month suspension its a lady in here named miss rolly she has brown hair and shes tan she racist and doesnt want the youth to succeed she told me herself everything is corrupt someone needs to investigate and shut this hell house down its like an asylum please dont go here

I was a youth at the program here. The staff are all pretty helpful. You just have to stay on top of things. I enjoyed the time I spent there. Just remember that it is a place of transitioning not a permanent solution.

They help people in need

Covenant House is a great non-profit that helps homeless youth with shelter, food, employment, and self independence. I worked here for 2 years and enjoyed every day of it. Keep up the good work Covenant House Family

Lived here a few years back and its a great place. It helped me grow into the successful business man I am. Got a bachelors with high honors and now im a federal employee. Without the empowerment of this safe haven during my most vulnerable years I believe I would be dead.

Terrible place...my boyfriend stayed there for awhile they wouldnt let him touch his money when he really needed it. They kicked him out because he rented a truck and didnt return it when they said...food is nasty always burnt or not done. Staff is very rude and never helps out. This one staff singled out my boyfriend all the time.They let anyone go through anyones stuff they dont care. I would never recommend this place to anyone even if you need it bad they are so fake. They show how wonderful they are but its all lies.

Fantastic organization really making a difference in the community. I volunteered here through my old company and found it very worthwhile and inspiring.

Been here for a couple days VERY GREAT !!!!!!!! They help as fast as they can JUST FOLLOW THE RULES AND YOU WILL BE GOOD

~Kurklin Marsteller~Horrible, while here i have had stuff stolen from me on a high scale. Over $300 dollars worth of items have been stolen not only from the storage unite in which staff are responsible for but also from a locked wooden locker which are in poor shape. A variety of the staff members are rude and do not comply with allot of clients needs and accomodations. Its security upon contraband substances are very poor and not maintained. The terms of agreement inwhich everyone signs upon entering the facility is not enforced such as being allowed up to the dormitory floors after leaving the premises in the morning, in which staff has allowed clients entry to this area after premises are suppose to be closed for the day. I rate this facility 1(one) star for these deciding factors. If i could give them 0 (zero) stars i gladly would. Never have i witnessed a homeless shelter with such low standards and maintainence 😡😡😡~Kurklin Marsteller~

Spent 93 days living here and moved on to another sister program. They have helped me get my life together and are wonderful people

This place is awesome, but it would be way better if they had the right staff to run it, give it to Newark to put lazy and uncaring rude people to be in a position to help a unfortunate group of young adults, Im a former resident from covenant house and Rights Of Passage, I wouldnt say I was the best resident I met a couple of staff members that should be unemployed, Jim White should really look into it, they have some amazing staff but a lot of unprofessional ones
