From chrome plating wheel rims all the way down to small motorcycle parts the work has been top-notch. Also, recently had a cam cover polished and it is the best I have ever seen. Thanks guys!
I brought my parts from my 1931 caddy to these people. I was very concerned because these parts were irreplaceable. They gave me a dateand also a very good price and got all the parts back to me on time and my parts were all perfect would recommend this company 100%.
Mara Polishing & Plating Co is excellent! From the first phone call I had and spoke with Miguel to the time I picked up my parts they were; helpful, professional, courteous and did not waste my time!!! I am building a custom motorcycle and needed two gas tanks nickel plated and some parts polished and Miguel did not disappoint! He delivered an excellent service at a fair price. I will be putting him on my speed dial for all my metal work! Also telling all my friends where to go to be treated fairly with great results! There are a lot of places in Newark and the vicinity that do similar work. But Mara has earned a reputation for being head and shoulders above the competition. Don’t waste your time with clowns. Call Miguel and tell him Marco sent you! You will be very glad you did!
I needed a metal part plated for an award being presented to a retiring colleague. I wondered who is going to take the time out of his busy production to chrome a little project for a guy he never met?Miguel at Mara Polishing and Plating, thats who. He treated me like I was his most important customer and did an excellent job in less than half the time he thought it would take for alot less than I thought it would cost.Thank you, Miguel and crew for the great service.
Very nice family shop. Excellent work. They take workmanship personally and delivery personal service. Good for small or large work.
Bobby and his son are amazing to work with and do a fantastic job! They got my old brass/steel/copper looking brand new. They made the process easy and simple and helped me along the way with invaluable advice. They are truly a class act and I highly, highly recommend their services and the job they do! Thank you guys!!!
Im usually not one to leave reviews but these guys did really good work for me at a very reasonable price and in good time as well. they were very straight forward with pricing and no b/s
Miguel Does Good WorkSeveral weeks ago, I decided to initiate a front-end project on my 1978 XLH Sportster. Part of the work included refinishing the fork legs of the front end to be black; but, before I could bring the parts to be powder coated, I chose to have the chrome stripped. I called several companies for cost estimates, turn-around time, hours of availability, etc. Those of you in a business know that every time the phone rings, its money, right? So does MARA Polishing & Plating, Co.When I called, Miguel answered within a few rings - he stopped whatever he was doing to answer my call. Miguel quoted a price for the chrome stripping job ($60) as well as turn-around of one week. With this information in-hand, I brought my motorcycle parts to 105-107 West Peddie Street, Newark, New Jersey. At the shop, Miguel looked at the fork lowers and caps. He went to his desk and began to fill-out a service ticket. Just before he wrote the price on my ticket he said $90, but I stopped him - you quoted me $60 on the phone. He said okay, told me the job would be done in about a week, and furnished me with the pickup ticket. Heres the best part: the job was ready within twenty-four hours; I was pleasantly surprised with the fast service.Positives?• Phone calls are answered within approximately three rings, and you speak with a human being• Fast turn-around timeNegatives?• Neighborhood / location• Duplicitous - I had to remind Miguel of the quoted price! What advice would you give to someone who wants to do business with this company?○ Keep a record of any prices discussed. Obtain a quote via fax or email, so there can be no mistake of prices. In addition, DO NOT LOSE YOUR CLAIM TICKET; it has the price marked at the time of drop-off.Would you recommend a customer to use this office for anything?○ Yes, I recommend MARA for chrome stripping at a fair price; MARAs refinishing options look good as well, although, when I dropped-off my parts (and keep in mind this is hearsay on my part), another customer came in with parts that had just been refinished - the customer complained of bubbles in the plating and wanted the work done over again. In addition, as a musician I appreciate having a place available to refinish guitar parts; Miguel does that, too!
Great mom and pop place to get quality work. They have a lot of their work on their facebook. I was very pleased!
Stay away from these guys. They are very unprofessional They promised a chrome job in 1 month and then took 3 months to complete. The product was ruined after they were done. .
