Amazing staff. recommended.

This is an amazing gym for professional body builders and anyone who is serious about working out! I have been to gyms all around NYC and this gym has the most equipment and is so clean it is the best gym I have been in. I recommend this gym over any chain gym and it also is a old school neighborhood gym. Definitely worth paying extra for. staff is also friendly and helpful!

Great location and machines the only thing Right now no wipes to clean machines with out saying. That the wipes they r using is 0% alcohol just like covid 19 likes.

The gym equipment is so close together there’s no room to work, very unprofessional and my wife was followed by a man. He continued to follow her into the locker room. I highly suggest not coming here

The staff refuses to cancel my contract and keeps referring me to their bogus collections agency to pay fees.I’ve tried numerous times to contact them over the summer to cancel after their gym was closed due to Covid-19. Through email, phone, Instagram DMs they never responded. Per the contract I’ve signed with the gym, I have the right to cancel if the gym is closed for more than 30 days. It was closed for 3 months. Fortunately, I contacted my bank to block any further charges from them. However, their collections agency still bills me and harasses me to pay up.Today I called again and they say they can do nothing to cancel my contract and to go through their billing company. Billing company wants me to mail a letter to them so they can pass on to the gym lol. This place is working under the assumption that customer service doesn’t exist.Similar to a previous review, if these charges get put into collections and damage my credit, I will get a lawyer.

The gym has great equipment and is in a great location, easily accessible by public transportation but their customer service is horrible. During this pandemic, I’ve been charged three monthly payments while business is closed by the governor’s executive order and have gotten no response on how to cancel my membership. Numerous emails sent and phone calls made have gotten no where. At this point, I think I would have to contact a lawyer to get them to cancel my membership and stop syphoning money out my account.

I have been coming here for 3 years because Theres a ton of cardio equipment and the Zumba classes are absolutely amazing!...

I like the location and the equipment but the adiminustration is terrible. While all other gyms canceled payments during the pandemic they continued to charge and even after the pandemic they increased their membership fee without even sending any notification.

So many negative reviews about a contract scam, and the few responses from the gym blame the customer and complain like a spoiled child about the bad review. Funny they dont respond to people who complain about being ripped off during this pandemic. Seems the only way to get these people to respond is to tell the truth in a Google review, or it used to be. Now they just ignore people. Well, another potential customer lost.

I moved out of Newark this past June and have been trying to cancel my membership to no avail because its been closed due to covid. Theyve been charging me monthly anyway and finally I was able to get in touch with someone and requested to cancel since I moved. They said I have to come in. Once again I said I moved, I cant come in, and I asked if they can mail me whatever I have to sign. They said no and said I should have cancelled it before I moved. I told them I tried to but they were closed and they said theres nothing they can do about that, implying thats not their problem. To anyone thinking about joining a gym, dont waste your time going to Ironbound Fitness. I cant believe how unprofessional they are. I guess now I have to call my bank and have them handle cancelling payments to them since all of the other gyms in New Jersey are able to cancel over the phone except them for some reason.

I absolutely love ironbound fitness ! Best place to train. The facility is clean, gorgeous and full of amazing equipment . I am currently prepping for a competing and if it wasnt for the ironbound fitness family i wouldnt have been able to push tru.I am so thankful to be part of such amazing gym, and family . I’m not writing this review out of anger, it is out of experience and to save many people from a business that is designed to rip off people! It is never about people or community it is about your money! The story is when covid instead of putting in consideration that people may face difficulties during that time, they started applying what’s called freeze fees which I have never heard of as I do have other gym membership! I happen to move during covid and when they reopened they called and said your card had changed and you have to pay all those months! Ever though I did not put a step in the gym since February! I’m writing this review to save many people their hard working money! I understand it could be difficult times for gym, however business should never throw the burden in Such manipulating way against thier members! This business don’t run on sports, it runs on you signing a contract, and no matter how abiding you are! When The time to change gym or move or a pandemic happening you will realize that you will be hit with a bill of hundreds of dollars! I don’t blame those girls in reception as they are only doing and saying what they are told to do! Sports is never like that guys! Please fix your business model for you and for your community! I highly do not recommend this gym to any individual who wants to better themselves either physically or socially! I’m not sure how this is legal ! I will be very much looking into that! I promise I will be very much looking into that! Worst this is to take advantage of the ignorance of your community and throw them under the collection bus to make extra money! They have a great gym and staff that is clean and well maintained. They have horrible customer service in regard to how a customer can handle cancelation and issues.My wife and I are going through the pandamic and struggling and our 1 year membership has expired and we are still being charged monthly for gym membership even though it was closed. We never got any email, call, text, mail informing how they were going to handle membership and cancellation. I tried emailing them but their marketing email has failed. Blink fitness that my brother goes to kept him informed and has not charged him anything. Wow, I should have listened to friends who told to stay away from Ironbound fitness because all they want is your money. I call them and nobody ever picks up or if they do I hear nobody on the line.

They charged for the months they were closed, and they keep charging you even after your contract ends, without giving you a notice about it.

I find Newarks Ironbound Fitness be a friendly, convenient, relaxed, neighborhood gym. No frills, but then, I don’t want to pay for frills. And no irritating music! A wide variety of folks work out there from grandmothers to body builders (and I think some body-building grandmothers) so folks like me don’t feel intimidated. Excellent personal trainers are available who will listen to what YOU want, on your schedule. All the equipment here works fine. Overall, it’s a great place to start working out, keep working out, and modify or improve your workouts.

Love The Gym - Specially because its 24/7 & i dont normally have time to go during the day. Its Clean & Staff was friendly.. i read my contract fully and have no complaints! Highly Recommend to others looking for a big gym. With 2 floors and plenty of workout machines... you will like it as much as i do..Now Time To Get In Shape for The Summer ;)

Ironbound is literally one of the best gyms Ive ever been to. I go there to destress, get my body in shape, and to just burn off some pent up energy. They have way better machines than Planet Fitness and Blink. I met the owners several times and they were just amazing. Gave me tips for my body type which I truly appreciate. I will continue renewing my membership here.

DO NOT SIGN UP FOR A CONTRACT!!! they will keep billing you but not send you bills or even attempt to contact you for years until one day you get a Creditors notice for hundreds of dollars. Very unethical and shady business processes going on here basically...I had my purse stolen 2 years ago while I still had a membership, I had to cancel my credit cards and with that I never thought twice about any payments I had coming out of those cards... other recurring payments I had contacted me immediately like any ethical business should.Ironbound fitness took it upon themselves to keep billing me internally and never let me know I was accruing fees - a simple email wouldve sufficed you know... Until today (2.5 years later), I received a 300+ notice from a creditor ... go figure.I sucked it up and paid a one time settlement fee because I dont have the time or resources to fight this even though I cant afford this nonsense at the moment.... but they didnt deserve a penny from me.Also, no one answers their phones when you try to contact them. Not even a voice mail, just call back again later. Real professional...

Great local gym! Such a unique place and a good value. I love the personalized feel of this gym. Its just the right size and the customer service/staff is great! Large enough to have everything I want, but without the depersonalized, corporate feel of the larger chain gyms.

Personal training done in a group class environment... Tough routines, beautiful trainers... Newark Ironbound Fitness is a great place to workout and reach your goals with their trainers. I havent really any complaints and the staff are all very friendly.Give it a go..

Just tried the gym over the weekend. As soon as my current membership is over Im definitely joining this gym. I went 2 days in a row and I had no issues. The entire gym was very clean! Loved all the leg machines. Everyone was super nice!! I definitely recommend this gym!

Great Gym. Lots of everything, clean, nice people. I was in town for work and caught a workout on a day off. Cant think of one thing wrong with it. The equipment was in excellent condition, lots of it, all the top end equipment like Hammer Strength, Cybex, Life Fitness, tons and tons of weight in both plates and dumbells, the gym was fairly neat, they have a nice shake bar where you can get a shake after workout. The exact kind of gym I love to find in cities when I am on the road. If I could have given it 6 stars I would have..

Scam company during Covid. They don’t care if they were closed and will still charge you.

The owners and trainers are all very involved and focused on the success of the members. They take a holistic approach helping members with everything from nutrition to proper shoe guidelines and recommendations on specialists to help with alignment, massage, etc.They are like family and always have a positive attitude. You will walk out of NIF feeling more positive than when you walked in, thats for sure. Plus youll get a great workout in the meantime!

Every time I attempted to exercise, I gave up. Exercising in a big gym just felt uncomfortable. Newarks Ironbound Fitness has provided me with a wonderful experience. Not only is the gym clean with a friendly staff, but it provides you with a spiritual encouragement to achieve your goals. For the first time, I feel excited about working out and I feel I can achieve my goals of losing the extra pounds. Best gym ever.

I LOVE IRONBOUND FITNESS

Ive been signed up for this gym for about 2 weeks, but its already been great. Its clean, the staff is attentive, and its rarely super busy. I came from 24 Hour Fitness so this was just what I needed - a less busy and simple gym. Will, the manager, is also super helpful and seems to truly care about the people who go there.

I tried the 3 day pass and loved it. Cool staff and great environment.

I started recently and it has been great so far. It’s open all the time so I can go whenever I want.

Fantastic Gym, great music, great machines, clean bathrooms/showers, great shake bar. It is not open 24/7 like the website says, though. Show up at 2am after a 3 mile run late Saturday night after watching Rocky 2 thinking your going to get some heavy sets because you gotta get ready for Mr T and youll be disappointed. Ask me how I know.

5 stars - the dance studio is my favorite part of the gym. The free classes throughout the week is what brought me in the gym. Doris, the owner is super friendly. No complaints here!

Great equipment in this gym, stuff you wont find at other locations. Ive been to (the now closed) Fit above, Club Metro and Evo and noticed a common theme, lack of equipment and free weights. Here I can actually use the same dumbbells as 2 other people and not have to wait for someone to finish. Never took advantage of the classes but they look fun.

I was given a 7 day free pass and was not pushed to sign up at all which was unsual for gyms. The tour was amazing and when I asked to signup, they told me to wait till my pass was fully over so I wouldnt get charged for the free days remaining. This is a wonderful fun place to work out they also offer Chiropractic, massage and acupuncture at their Hayes Valley Location. Their customer service is awesome and Im always greeted with a friendly smile and hello!

My Wife comes here for the weekly classes they have. i think its like 45 free personal training classes. i come here to lift heavy, very nice atmosphere...

This Gym is very close to Penn station, right in the center of the lovely Ironbound. Its one of the best gyms in the state. if you serious about your workout, then this gym is for you!!!

I been training here for the past 3 years after leaving metro and while i thought metro was okay, Ironbound completely surprised me.it is like a totally different environment. The owners are ALWAYS there and that means a lot. Bathrooms stay clean, environment is good. Only negative thing is it can ghet quite busy on a friday night but that is expected of every gym, so A++++

As an traveller to the area from abroad I was looking for a gym in the short term. This gym refused to give me a free trial, and then asked me to commit for a 1 year long contract that costs around $40/mo + $60 enrolment. This is far too expensive for this kind of facility and you can do much better with the surrounding gyms in the area. I ended up getting a monthly membership with no commitment for $30 so still wondering why this gym charges so much.*Update: After being threatened by the manager I am even more furious at the management and attitude of the club manager. First of all I was a FORMER employee of LA Fitness and understand how a gym should be operated. And yes I was told I couldn’t get a free trial because I’m not from New Jersey? That’s without discrimination? This club is total bs, btw I found a much better deal with no contract at the gym next door FYI.

Amazing gym and open late...and ruined entirely by annoying club music blasting at full volume at every hour. Loud enough that even with noise cancelling headphones at full volume I can still hear it loud and clear😥To management, consider lowering the music!

They say you can’t cancel before a year and then when you hit a year, you still have to pay for an extra month! BE WARNED DO NOT GO TO THIS GYM! They have changed the hours, the gym was 24/7 Mon- Friday, now the hours are 5 a.m to 11 p.m or 12 if I’m not mistaking.Very big turn off for me I use to come here 2 or 3 a.m in the morning due to my work hours but now I no longer can.However they still advertise as 24/7 .Very ridiculous to just change the hours many serious lifters come early before the people who b.s around the gym and take up space.i Have signed up with signature fitness they are 24/7 and so far so good try it out.

What a bad tour. These reviews are compromised this gym is cluttered with machines. They dont even give 5 feet distance to machine. It looks like a storage facility. It is super tight, i just stopped by yesterday and they front desk lady who was not even by the desk is the same person who tells you pricing. She did a horrible job was rude didnt even give me a tour. From behind the desk was like, you can take a quick look around. I could understand if it were busy but they were like 10 people in the gym. Horrible gym horrible greeter, horrible service i will take my money to blink. Ok not even close to being the best gym more like worst gym.

I have been going to Ironbound 4 months now, it is owned by owners who care about the members and it shows. This is a very good gym to get in shape, my wife loves the Zumba and otheror classes they have. After checking out other gyms in the local area. I decided to stay away from unprofessional staff and join this gym. So far I been here four months and have zero complaints. The best gym in the area.Fyi - this gym is not for cry babies - youd be much better joining the other wack gyms available. This gym is for real gym gurus, for real dedicated members, for people looking to work out and not cry like a baby for nonsense.

Complimented by a support staff who were extremely supportive and always assisted me with queries or general understanding of practical workI thoroughly enjoyed the course and would recommend it to any others with a keen interest in nutritional balance and weight loss mansgement.

I have been coming to this gym for a very long time, it is perfectly located in the heart of the ironbound where i live. It is a safe neighborhood, free secured parking and great place to workoout.

Horrible business. You sign a two year contract and they keep trying to charge past the two year contract. Even if you have not stepped foot in the gym in over two years.And they will give your information to a credit agency First Credit Services that isnt even accredited by the better business bureau.No accountability, employees are incredibly rude, they scam in order to keep their failing gym afloat.I would give zero stars if possible.

I think its a great place to be at nothing to complain i just walk in and do my thing i dont go there to hang out or talk to the girls at front desk like other do, its 2 floors of work out floor there is FREE parking a block away no big deal, tho.just ask where its at. Great price every month, i been there for few months now and i enjoy it nobody to bother you do youre thing and thats it.

Number 1 gym in New Jersey. Been a member for 2 years until i moved. But even when i go visit i still make sure to go to Ironbound Fitness. highly suggest this gym!!!

I completed my training over 18 months ago and since then have built a part-time Pilates business providing one to one, community and gym based classes. Every day as I teach I draw on the structure, discipline, and knowledge that I gained from my Mat Level 3 Pilates training with Future Fit.

At the time of this review I had joined Ironbound Fitness the day prior and it was just magnificent the people are very welcoming and very kind I highly recommend this gym!

I can see why everyone keeps calling this the best gym in town, it really is lol the staff is great, the gym is packed with amazing equipment, all fully working and operational, nothing is ever down at ironbound fitness. can you ask for more ????

These ppl are sending letters to ex-members collecting an outregaous amount of money after there accounts and balances haven already closed they are running a scam here.. i signed up for a year cash contracted meaning no card information anything of that matter this was about 4 years ago. just the other i am getting a paper saying that i have to pay 2000$ from frist credit services a company that has ppl that cant comunicate well or be helpful....theses ppl are trying to scam us to keep their business a float.

I thought the service was horrible.. The girls at the front desk are extremely rude... They continued to steal money out my account after my contract was up.. Very small.. Bathroom is gross... Ill never give them a cent of my money again... No good experiences here

I was in this gym for years since they pretty much opened at first it was pretty small but it has everything you need to get the results your looking for BUT after so many years there I was being treated like I was a nobody. Staff is very rude the girls at the front desk seem as they hate their job not friendly at all especially the manager. The reason I left this gym after so many years was because denied access to the gym because I simply forgot my scanner. I was outraged and immediately requested for a cancellation as I will not want to go thru this again. Especially when I live far from the gym to go back home for a scanner. Also watch out for their shake menu they false advertise, the menu states youll be getting a certain about of protein which includes protein powder + weight gainer protein and in reality they just add the protein!! When I found this out I was very up set and the stuff just seem to brush it off like oh we dont add that any more just one scoop. Mario J Cortes.

I cancelled this membership almost 3 years ago and they want to charge me more than $500 on unpaid dues. They renew contracts without letting the customers know. Extremely unethical, Im surprised this people still on business.
