Very friendly staff and they always do a great job. I’ve been to many places and this is by far the best one I’ve found. Good atmosphere and they make you feel welcome. Will be my go to from now on.

Great place to get a hair cut, be it basic or stylish. Everyone working here is upbeat and happy to have a conversation but wont force you to if you just want to soak in the environment.

Very few times do you go into a place and it feels like family. Vaughns does. Anthony and the folks treat you like family. Id much rather go to Vaughns than any corporate store/shop.

Been trying a few different barber shops in the Newark and Heath area and finally found my home today at Vaughn’s. Jake cut my hair today and it came out exactly how I wanted it. He takes his time and pays close attention to detail and doesn’t rush even with people waiting. Great conversations not only with him but the other barbers in the shop. Will be back weekly and look forward to more great conversations and making some new friends. This place is legit as it gets. Was able to walk in at noon on a Wednesday and was out in less then 45 mins with a great haircut for under $20. Fun guys and chit chat only if you want it.

Great barbershop! Old school, no call-ins/name boards, just the honor system with a bunch of guys sitting on a long bench. In my cases (generally Saturday mornings ~7am), they typically have 3 barbers already in the shop and when I walk in the door, there is already 3-4 people inside. Someone always greets you upon entering and says thank you when you are walking out. Always have nice barbershop talk (keep the cussing down! which is a nice touch as you will see a lot of kids in the shop) but nothing seems forced.Great price for the haircut ($16 basic haircut) and finished off with a straight razor back-of-the-neck shave.Highly recommend!

I came in from out of town for a funeral and needed a quick fade and a shape up for my son. We got in right away and I showed him a picture of what his barber does in our hometown and he did an AMAZING job!!!! Thank you so much!

Has always been my preferred barber shop, but last hair cut I got there was horrible!!!!! No where on my head is even and he thought it look excellent!!! Didnt even want him to attempt to fix it since he thought it looked acceptable when he was done

Went to Vaughn’s for 29 years and always had a great experience. Then they changed owners, and I got kicked out. Twice.

This place is old school and hes been there like a hundred years. Everyone who cuts hair there is great. You dont have to wait for a certain Barber to get a great cut. People are very partial to that Ben guy and his brother.

After the change ownership the quality went down the drain. They cannot seem to keep consistent barbers and ive had some of the worst and laziest haircuts in my life. It is a shame with such a history in the area and such a good name to see it fall so low.

New to the area, asked around. Everyone said GO TO VAUGHNS ...good call. Classic barbershop with hot towel shaves and crispy clean fades. Loved it. My new go-to spot. Been around since 37 for a reason.

Had to find a barbershop in a short period of time, and this one is what came up. Literally the only one that services all races and do an awesome job at it. Plus there old school(razor lineups) which is a lost art in Barbers today. If your in the area(Newark or Heath) and you need a cut,this is a one stop shop.

I had a great experience here. My barber spent a lot of time on my hair and paid a lot of attention to detail. Most of the places in newark want to rush you out the door but vaughns is the real deal. It was like a spa for men. Ill never go anywhere else as long as Im in newark. 15 bucks for a 45 minute masterpiece of a haircut. Tip these men well they are artists.

Love this place. I take my grandson their and there is usually a wait but, it is so worth it. Arron (sp ? ) is the best.

The heavier man with salt and pepper colored hair that cut my hair today was very rude. He made me feel stupid while I was trying to explain how to cut my hair. Acted like it was a chore to cut my hair and actually raised his voice at me because apparently I wasnt quick enough for him while I was trying to explain how to cut my hair. It was very rushed. It looks like he just chopped at my hair with a pair of scissors like hes never cut hair before. It looks terrible and Im going to have to go somewhere else and pay more money to get it fixed and get another haircut that I dont want. I will never be going back.

A little expensive for a barber shop but these guys really know what theyre doing. Theyre practically professionals. Strongly recommend.

Long waits barbers get on their phones and hold outside conversations while cutting your hair. Expect to be there about 2hrs for a cut.

My sons haircut was not the greatest. It is choppy and the worst haircut he ever had. Not blaming all of the barbers just the one he had. First time ever being there and so far not satisfied.

I went in today told the barber I want a fade 3-1 he did a good job on the fade, but when I told him what I wanted I told him a fade and keep the top long as in 2 or 3 inches, I walk out with my hair shorter than the barbers, nothing against him but I think he just thought I look better with shorter hair, in my opinion I don’t but next time I go I for sure will not take that barbers service, sorry.

They are not open til 1 olcock on Saturday. I show up to Vaughns at 12:40 and the door is locked. Clearly not open til 1pm. Dont advertise a time your business is going to be open til and then close before that time.

The barber literally accross the street...Doug Cross totally ruined my haircut on purpose but this barbershop actually fixed it for free...or fixed what they could.
