I had a long 24 hours of calling tow trucks, talking to insurance and coordinating rides. I finally got dropped off at mound city and instantly felt at peace. They were so wonderful, kind and reassuring. They explained everything to me, checked up on me while I waited and while I waited, I watched multiple customers come in. They were just as kind to each of them as they were to me. When my car was done, my fiancé said they must have made a mistake because the bill was so cheap! (But they had not). I live in Columbus, but I have found where I will be taking my car for all repairs. Thank you mound city for making a horrible situation a little less horrible.

I had some work done at a different shop and something didnt feel right. I took my SUV to these guys and not only did they fix that problem but a problem the other shop missed. Great work for a reasonable price. Thanks guys.

No stars they were rude saying blah blah blah and Said my tire was not fixable because it had a nail in the middle and charged me 20 dollars to put my spare on but didnt charge the person in front of me and they told them the same thing. Worse place to go, If they would have told me I would have put the spare on myself for free..

These were very professional people. Treat you like family and help you with the problem you have. It’s not often said you trust a mechanic but these gentlemen are trust worthy.

This place is a rip off and they are crooks, I, was charged $500 for a wheel bearing on front driver side and $600 for front brakes, was told by my new mechanic they did not replace the rotors like they said the did they just put on pads.....so $600 for brake pads.......on the front. I will never return to this place for any reason. In the old days when it was Newark Tire Id say yea go there it was a good place, the old guys did good work at a fair price but when they quit, this place went to hell. Avoid at all cost Also Im allergic to dogs and sometimes they have a dog in the lobby thats not very professional

I stopped by early in the morning to address a pressing car problem that I had. They told me after they looked at it that I needed parts from a Chrysler dealer (who was closed for the day or something). I cross referenced this with someone who owns his own shop elsewhere and found out this was not true in regards to finding the parts. I asked if I could just buy the parts from a local store and bring them in myself to make things easier, but they then told me that maybe one part might be available but definitely not the other.I left disappointed after my $45 bill, because they could not help me on this day. However they said that if I come back later it would cost $540 for everything. I went to a local auto parts store next and they actually said that they worked with Mound City regularly. In addition, this store was able to locate both the AC parts that I needed easily and not from a dealer.So I wonder why Mound City told me that these parts had to come from the dealer. This is a prime example why I don’t trust auto shops, especially like this one. If they lie about things like this, what else do they lie about? I will not be a returning customer.UPDATE: The problem was not the AC Blower motor and Resistor. Instead it was a blown fuse. Another mechanic the next day diagnosed this in less than 10 minutes and didn’t charge me a penny. I approached the manager at Mound City to ask how he would make this $45 misdiagnosis right and he said he could not help me. That’s the kind of service you get here folks. Avoid this place!

They saved me about $500 on tires and install. I am moving to Cincinnati, but if I do not find a competitive rate down there when I need them I WILL drive 2 hours back here just to work with these people again. I would give them 10 stars if I could!

I would highly recommend Mound City Tire and Auto Repair. I work in downtown Newark and was having issues with my car. I typically would call the dealership where we purchased our vehicle, but since I work near Mound City I decided to contact them. One of their employees walked over to my building, got my keys, took my car to the body shop, and then returned it before I got off work. The employees were very honest. They explained that they could fix the issue but suggested that I call my dealership because it should be covered on the warranty. I really appreciated that they were more interested in gaining a lifelong customer than simply making money. Ever since this experience we have been taking our vehicles to Mound City for maintenance and will continue to do so.

Rick given me an estimate of $30 to get 2 new front tires put on that I had already purchased. But over charged me an extra $25.00 . 🤷‍♀️🤔When I asked if it was right he said yes. So $59.23 to get just 2 tires put on. Next time I will just go to Walmarts tire & lube. Because their $30 means $30 . Im definitely not to happy about that. Other then that the mechanics did a great job.Update: His name was Eric not Rick (auto corrector changed it) and I did take my car to 2nd street on the square. I have taken a couple of my cars here since I moved. Initially, when we moved, I called several mechanics. Mound City was by far the most responsive and inspired the most confidence over the phone.Because of the phone call, I took my car for the first time to Mound City. I have never had such a consistently pleasant and trustworthy experience like I have had with Mound City.My parents who live over half an hour away are so convinced and impressed that they are going to bring their cars to Mound City Auto. Truly, I cannot implore you enough to take your car to Mound City. They are truly amazing and their honesty is truly gratifying, just like Mark Twain quoted many years ago.I would like to additionally thank Eric and Bud for all of their help with my cars.Update: Ive always appreciated Mound City for their honesty and character. Unfortunately, recently, their commination has become absolutely terrible. Ive called multiple times and was told they would call me back... Never did. I messaged Eric personally and still no call back. I really like these guys but Ive started to go Coughlin Hyundai for service. They are just as friendly and honest in my opinion and they actually call you back when they say they will.

I have used Mound City Tire for the past 2 years. Their tire prices are very reasonable. I also had an oil change and alignment. I find them to be extremely knowledgeable and super friendly people. I will definitely use their services in the future.

Great an honest people that are good at there job

Took my vehicle here to have 4 new tires installed and aligned. A few weeks later, took it to Honda for a knocking noise when turning and the tech there stated that whoever did the alignment before didnt tighten the necessary parts, causing the knocking. Will not be returning to this auto shop, seeing as their mechanics cant properly do basic mechanical work.

Weve been taking our cars here since it was Newark Tire Repair. I have to say, since the change in ownership we have had top notch service experience as well as general customer service. Everything about this place is terrific from the service to the pricing. Honest and true!
