I have taken all of my cars to Deke’s including a high performance roadster for many years. Deke has performed all of my needed repairs and is up front with details on what needs to be done and the cost. He has diagnosed and repaired relatives engine issues for far less than dealers. I highly recommend Deke’s for any of you automotive needs.

As always a GREAT job! I have had repairs completed at Dekes several times. Not cheap, but you get what you pay for. Deke and his family are very professional. In addition I cannot sey enough about Sid, he is an expert!

When I call them I get my car in quickly. They diagnose it fast and they explain everything that can be done and stuff that I can wait on that doesnt have to be done right away. I appreciate that and the prices I think are reasonable I wont take my car anywhere else.

Professional great service

I’ve used Deke’s for oil changes and minor repairs for about 10 years and have always been happy with their work. Then, about 6 weeks ago my 2014 Audi developed a severe miss, so rather than try to make it to the dealership in Columbus, I took it to Deke’s, only 5 minutes away. I thought that the problem was a bad ignition coil or a plugged fuel injector…nothing serious. It turned out to be VERY serious. A valve spring had broken and the valve had dropped into the cylinder. Deke’s was able to diagnose the problem and do the needed repairs, which included removing the cylinder head, having the head machined, replacing the valve and valve spring, and insuring that there was no other damage done when the valve dropped. Deke’s had to order special tools and didn’t hesitate to tackle the job. They did an outstanding job. It was not cheap, but I have no doubt, a LOT less than I would have paid to have it repaired t the dealership. And my Audi is running GREAT again. I will not hesitate to go back to Deke’s for any issue that comes up with my cars. They are honest, very skilled, friendly and communicate well…I even got a follow-up call to see how the car was running a week after the repair was completed

Deke has always treated me very fair and is always accommodating. His shop is not the cheapest in the area but you get what you pay for and his is the best. The staff is very helpful and goes in depth to explain what needs to be done and would should be considered in the short term. I have never felt pressured into doing work just because they say it needs to be done. I trust their expertise and trust them with my vehicles.

I have used Dekes for the past 5 years and take all of our autos there. They work to your schedule, fast and prompt. Staff is professional and courteous. Shop and waiting area is clean and accommodating. Their knowledge and experience on a variety of makes and models exceeds dealership shops.

Garage was to change two spark plugs was not prepared to fix it, nor did they diagnose why engine light was on, and did not know how to diagnose hill assist system light on, when they were told 3 days before appointment, when I thoroughly explained what needed done.

Great job on the fix and pricing. James communicated well and there were no surprises... except the repairs were less than expected. Definitely the go to place in Licking County.

Deke, Brenda and their crew are incredible. They have the knowledge on vehicles from all corners from vintage antique early 1900s, muscle cars and exotic European automobiles. I am always impressed at how professional Deke, Brenda and their crew are each time I speak with them and visit their location. Very clean environment and never disappointing.

Where do I go to get my fast car (2013 C6 Corvette) ready for a track weekend? Dekes, of course. Two track weekends in a row, I need some emergency work/upgrades done. The first, was an install of a twin oil cooler...the bad thing was I needed it in 2 days. Thanks to Deke & Ron, I was up on my trailer and off to Barber MSP on time and on schedule. The second time was suppose to be a simple fix to my A/C and a noise I heard from my serpentine belt...only it wasnt my serpentine belt but a failed flexplate! Up on the rack Spooky goes for major surgery and off I go to the National Corvette Museum Motorsports Park for yet another track day on time and on schedule!Guess where I am taking Spooky before LSFest East?Dekes, of course!

I recently took our vehicle to Dekes Auto Tech, after having a local dealer look the issue also. What stood out to me was that Deke was honest in his diagnosis of the problem with our SUV, and he did not give me the run around. He explained what the problem was, and was upfront about the possibility of another issue, but would not know until he started the work on it. Those whom I spoke with, Jonathan and Deke, were courteous, and set a clear expectation of the length of repair, and what the cost could be. When the job was completed they adjusted their labor hours as it did not take as long as they had anticipated. Dekes Auto Tech has my business, and I would highly recommend them.

Whether it is Deke, the owner, Brenda, his wife, Jonathon, who also answers the phone, or James, the newest phone answerer, the greeting is always the same. Underlying that simple message is a friendly how-can-we-help-you tone I’ve gotten used to over the years with our four-vehicle fleet.Deke is “my mechanic”. I was referred to him years ago by another fleet owner I trusted. “Great mechanic,” I remember him telling me. But a great mechanic doesn’t become your mechanic until you’ve been through real car troubles with him. If he just changes your oil, the bond is never made. It’s the real auto problems - and their creative solutions - which seals the relationship between a car owner and his mechanic.And we’ve been through car problems. My guess is that Deke and his great staff have repaired a dozen of my vehicles in the course of the last 15 years. He has guided me through several incompetent factory recalls. And most importantly, he has told me when I shouldn’t make a repair, gently helping me to guide a dying vehicle to its natural end.The atmosphere at Deke’s is different. He has never steered me wrong but he has often re-steered me. “You don’t want to do that,” he’ll say, explaining why my idea won’t work.Finally, with Deke’s there is great pride in the work. Deke never has a problem explaining what is wrong with the vehicle or the repairs needed. In fact, he seems to enjoy explaining what this valve does or why the shake happened.I have to take the Accord there tomorrow. It has a shake that John explained starts at around 60 miles per hour but fortunately stops at 80. We’ll see what Dr. Deke says.
