I usually do all automotive repair work at home, but I don’t have the equipment to replace tires. Based on the Google reviews, I went with Polumbo’s. I submitted a tire request online. Steve Palumbo got back to me quickly and had some questions. He suggested I call him to discuss my needs. He then located the tires that I wanted. I scheduled the installation which went well and I’m very happy overall with the experience.

Had my car towed there and the mechanics were nothing but straight forward and honest with me. No jacked up price and I appreciate the time that was spent explaining what was wrong. Definitely a place to take your car for service if you want excellent work at an honest price. Good mechanics are hard to find, but not here

Service excellence now has 3 new names...they are Kyle, Albert and Steve! These guys are life savers. They close at 6:00 pm and even though it was well after 5:00 pm, Kyle said to come in so when I called desperate for a new windshield wiper (that I had just broken at a nearby car wash and it started raining)! Kyle said in the short timeframe they could assess the damage to determine if it was a quick fix or if a new part was needed. If it was the latter they would place the order and fix it on Monday. When I arrived after 5:30 pm, Steve greeted me/gave me a warm welcome. He came out and examined the damage and reassured me that it was a simple fix and someone would be out to help me. Then Kyle and Albert also gave me a warm welcome. Kyle gave me even more details regarding the damageand my options. We agreed on their recommended course of action. Albert the tech changed the wiper blade in minutes. Before I knew it, they had me on my way at 5:47 pm! They were courteous, kind, honest & swift. I couldn’t be more happy with their work/professionalism and I highly recommend them to anyone/everyone. 😁

They did a quick new battery purchase and gave me a interstate battery which will be good in all states

I have been going here for years and have only had good experiences. They do a good job, at a fair price but you can get that at a lot of places. What sets Palumbos apart is there customer service. I travel a lot for work which means if there are any problems, my wife is on her one with our kid. One time she got two flat tires (we wont discuss how) and with a quick phone call to Palumbos, they took care of getting the car towed and fixed immediately. I have several stories of the excellent customer service but this one will always stick out to me. It is good to know that their family watches out for my family.Steve, Kyle and the rest of the team....thank you.

The mechanic Albert saved me a lot of money. The power steering failed in my Acura . He found a warranty bulletin on the issue and instructed me to take my car to an Acura dealer. Some car mechanics would have just made the repairs and charge for the fix. The Acura dealer wasn’t even aware of the bulletin and was initially going to charge me to have it fix. Albert pointed me to the bulletin so I could show the Acura dealer and the work was performed under warranty on a 2012. The warranty was 15 year unlimited mileage.

PLEASE READ.. After being recommended from a co-worker and also the great reviews, I stopped by on Friday 05/21/2021 to have my car looked at. First, the signage. They have an exit sign where the counters are and an enter sign into a big waiting room. Ok? I walk in and look around. Within 2 minutes, the guy at the counter (who later I learn is Steve) says to me, Sir I will be with you shortly. Ok, no problem there. Meanwhile, there is an elderly gentleman sitting in a chair watching TV with a hat that says Penske and the rear says Palumbos. There was also a female customer sitting and waiting. The elderly man calls the front on his cell phone and Steve answers. This is how I know his name was Steve. The man says we should order pizza for this customer, referring to the woman. He said, Ok dad no problem. So I assume that elderly man was maybe the founder of the business?Anyway, the place had a nice and welcoming atmosphere. However, Steve basically forgot about me. I stayed standing in the big room where I could watch TV but close enough to the door that Steve could still see me standing and waiting. He called a customer to let them know their AC service was done and they could pick up the car. Then he called the woman over who was waiting who then payed for her vehicle and left. Another woman came in to pick up her car and paid and left. Steve walked in and out of the desk ahead to the shop a few times and also out front. I continued to stand there with my sunglasses and wait patiently.After waiting over 20 minutes of watching the Rachel Ray show in their nice air conditioned waiting area, I got tired of standing and walked out the door very nicely and calmly. I even walked slower than normal thinking Steve would notice and walk out after me and apologize. I got to my car and I see Steve walk out but walk over to the shop. I sat in my car for a minute just to see if he would still approach. Nope!!So I left. I am honestly not sure what the issue was. Delaware also removed the mask restriction recently but I did have a mask on. To be brutally honest, there are a lot of other repair places within a five mile radius. I do not have to come here for service and I most certainly do not need to remind them I am a customer by saying, Hey Steve, I have been over here awhile. Do you need a few more minutes?. No. Steve obviously did not want my business. I have no idea why and I have no idea what was going on with his day or work load prior to my arrival. I also do not feel I am special and feel I need to be waited on the minute I walk in the door. I am patient. I will wait. However, I decided to leave and vote with my wallet. I am in control of where I spend my money and I most certainly will not spend it here after the way I was treated. Just my honest opinion. Nice looking place though.

Steve and his team make my car troubles a breeze. When I have an emergency, Palumbos takes care to get me in and get the issue fixed as efficiently and cost effectively as possible. I would highly recommend this facility to anyone needing work on their vehicle!

The staff here took excellent care of my vehicle and took the time to completely explain what was going on. They have a screen in the check out area that they can display detailed information about your cars specific issue which makes it very easy to understand their reasons for repairs. I will not hesitate to go there again and recommend them to friends and family.

My company car had broken down while traveling through Wilmington. My company fleet admin referred me to Palumbos. They called Palumbos and set it up with Steve. Ive been in this situation before and have had to wait by the car for hours, find a ride home etc... Instead Steve arranged a quick tow even having me ride in the tow truck. He had to use his secondary tow company as he said his primary tow company was backed up for hours. Upon the arrival of my dead car to Palumbos, Steve had his people promptly check out my car. His technician determined that the battery and alternator were failing. They did the job and I was back on the road. I went from breakdown to finished repair in under three hours. These people are amazing.

In and out in under an hour. 4 tires mounted and balanced on 4 rims, then mounted on my truck. Tire sensors transferred and installed without issue. Couldnt be happier. Quality work, and very professional employees. Thanks again.

Very unsatisfied with the service I got. I was on the phone with one of the workers asking him something about my car and he started cursing at me and being so rude. I never been treated so disrespectfully in my life. I thought this car center had friendly people thats what I was told how great and friendly you guys are and I got tons of great reviews until that phone call but I guess they hire people who yell at customers and treat them disrespectfully. I suggest people not go here till they correct that employee by firing him because someone who does that to a potential and lifelong customer should not be working there. and I know this employee name if you guys want it I asked him what his name was and he told me his name but I never been treated this bad ever in my life and I hope you guys address this and correct it properly by giving him what he deserves.

My cars have been going to Palumbos for almost 25 years. I have never been disappointed in the results, never had to go back to repair a repair. There is always good information and sound advice about auto maintenance available. When I have an issue, I call Steve or Kyle. Then I take my car for them to check out.

I called them Thursday afternoon after my car started making weird noises. They took it in the next day and were extremely pleasant and helpful through the entire process! I had to stay and wait for what turned out to be a lengthy brake job, and the person helping me kept me updated the whole time. Everyone working there was helpful and friendly, and the prices were great compared to others. I had a wonderful experience and will definitely be returning next time I need any work done on my car!

I went to Palumbos fully expecting to need four new tires. After coming out to look at my tires, it was decided I only really needed two. I was very pleased to find a family owned place that is honest and so helpful. I went back days later with a low tire light, expressing concern. It turned out to be the older tires which they gladly checked and filled for me. I will be going here from now on.

Had my wifes car a couple weeks ago for tires, rear brakes, and alignment. Kyle got the car in and took car of it. We left to go eat and do a couple other things. Kyle called to let us know of a bent control arm. He said he could get the part and have it finished by 3pm that day. As promised it was completed that day. No problem at all with vehicle after they did the repairs. Will most definitely be bringing all our cars in for service when needed!!!! Great job by all staff.

When I lived near Glascow High School, I went to Palumbos all the time for car service and repair. They are very good -- upfront prices, no double-talk. Now I go there for tires. I continue to be very happy with their prices and service.

The turn around time for my oil change and tire rotation was fast, but either the mechanic that worked on my vehicle forgot the intervals for Synthetic Oil changes, or was trying to get me into the shop more often than needed. First the mechanic put the stick for my next oil change at 3000 miles, me knowing that was wrong removed the sticker assuming he reset the scheduled maintenance tracker in the vehicle. He did not, infect he disabled it. Im assuming this was all about getting me in more and assuming I knew nothing about the maintenance of my vehicle. That being said, I do no trust them if they have mechanics that work in this fashion.

Unbelievably GREAT service! I had a flat tire and asked for change to use their air pump. Instead, they offered to use their garage air pump free of charge. After determining that my tire was not repairable, they replaced it within 30 minutes. Friendly, fast, and quality replacement. Could not be more pleased! Thanks for helping me on my way home to Connecticut, folks!

We were in a real jam and Kyle got us out of it in short order. The dealership made a mistake in ordering and got the wrong tires. Waiting another week for a replacement order was not an option. Stopped into Palumbos looking for a carry out option and Kyle went to work getting us what we needed and ended up saving us around $600. Ive been coming here for years to get my vehicles serviced and Im happy I did. Their pricing is fair and the service staff is polite and very helpful. They have always been upfront about what my vehicle needs and never pushy about trying to get me to get extra work done or try to upsell me. Took my car in for a new tire. They did not have one in stock, but was able to order one have have it within an hourother places I went to stated it would take a week. Was told it was going to be done by the end of the night, guess what, they had it done in about four hours! This was my first time in and will definitely be coming in again for any problems. Everyone was very friendly, was asked how I was doing and if I needed anything every so often by the gentlemen who worked there. The owner was even in and was the sweetest person you could ever met.

Great place! Fair prices and honest help and advice. I once pulled a tire off the rim and brought it there. They guy helping me said we dont have a listed price for the work we did to fix it. So they gave me my car back with the wheel remounted and charged me nothing.

Called Palumbos to make an appointment and was told No appointment needed, come on down were not busy Great I replied see you in 20 minutes.I than put Fix A Flat in and arrived in 10 minutes,only to find several people in line and was told a 90 minute wait.Turns out these customers were already in line, when I was on the phone inquiring about fixing my tire - according to the employee behind the counter. If shop would have said 90 minute wait I wouldve found another shop.Just be upfront and honest- found another shop, who performed the work- As a business owner myself, you had a perfect opportunity to win a customer over- I wouldve done just the opposite- made good on my word and treated that customer, like they were my only customer.

They stand behind their work, as evidenced when my new brakes were squealing. They replaced them with better brakes and did not charge me. Always pleasant staff and owner. AWESOME.

My Wife and I are very pleased with the service we have gotten at Palumbos. There was an oversight on replacing a particular item (rear windshield wiper) which was promptly ordered and installed. Their center is clean and comfortable if you choose to wait, and, their demeanor and willingness to answer questions is very good. We were also pleased with their willingness to drop my Wife off at work while her vehicle was in for service.

I have been taking my Toyota T-100 truck to Palumbos for years, and cannot say enough about their excellent service and sheer kindness. These people know what they are doing, and do not send you away without being satisfied! Hats off to all of you for your hard work, honesty, and integrity....

I had a tire pressure sensor repaired on August 9th. Within two weeks, it was alerting me to non function; I called Palumbos and was given another appointment. A few days before my August 28th appointment, the alert light went out. I called to report this en route, but they told me to come in anyway, it still should be checked. I arrived within 10 minutes. I was told that during that 10 minutes, four walk-in customers had arrived and been accepted, so they would not be able to honor my appointment. I didnt know that a walk-in customer was preferred over a scheduled appointment . I also didnt appreciate being dismissed in front of all the people who were given my place on the schedule.

Ive had good experiences with the shop. They were close when I worked in Delaware and on top of things when I got out of the car to hear a hissing sound. Only negative is a punctured new tire that cant be patched but can be replaced at cost. The replacement tire may be older than the car. Im satisfied with the service provided but a bit less enthusiastic about their commitment to customers after leaving the parking lot.

Cant say enough about this place, I got a flat and was towed to them after calling around, they were the only place around to have my Tire size, let alone 4 of them. Pleasant to deal with, and did everything they could to fix the bent wheel I ended up having. Super fast, work was extremely well done, and after service like that, Im going to try to buy all 4 of my next tires from them, despite being in a different state. Family owned too, so it goes to support local business! A+++EDIT:A couple weeks after going to Pulumbos I ended up ordering the set of tires I needed from them, and Kyle was more than happy to ship them to me for a good price. Furthermore, he followed up on the shipment without me having to ask, and saw that an incorrect address # was holding up the package, fixed it, and had an update for me the next day when I called. +1 for for taking the initiative and following through on everything. 👍👍👍

Have been a customer of Palumbos for years with 10-12 year-old cars. Am on a first-name basis with most of the staff because there have been plenty of things for them to fix over the years.. Everyone there knows their stuff. Work is done on time and correctly the first time.

I have been going to Palumbos way back when Steve had a shop in Kennett Square PA and when I moved to Bear I was happy that I was only a few miles away from his other location on rt 40.There is not a single time that the Staff have taken care of my Car problems and completed the work with 100% satisfaction; and I know each Customer will be treated and advised by a very knowledgeable staff .

I would say they are one of the most honest and helpful car centers in the area. I had 2 cars fixed in a week that were misdiagnosed by numerous mechanics in the area. I took it to Palumbos and the team there was super helpful and patient. One of the employees Kyle, handled both my cars. He did research, kept me posted through the process, personally drove one of my cars that had a bad vibration issue and took ownership to fix it. I am upset that I didnt go to Palumbos in the first place. It would have saved me a lot of money. Kyle and team, you guys are a world apart. Please keep up the good work
