I inherited a 1930s Omega watch from my grandmother, but the cord band was way too small - it barely fit around my wrist. Lengthening the band didnt seem like a big request, and yet I had trouble finding anyone who would do it. Even the Omega repair center in NJ refused to work on it and mailed it back to me!I live in NYC and found Ron online, who said hed agree to give it a look. I mailed it to him, and he immediately replied that he could do everything I asked! He replaced the cord with the exactly the same kind so that it looks original and did so faster than I expected. When I went in to retrieve the watch, he then spent about 30 minutes with me adjusting and re-adjusting to ensure that it fit my wrist really nicely.Ron and his assistant are very friendly, too. I brought in a vintage ladies Hamilton watch that was given to my Grandmother on my Grandfathers 25th anniversary with the company he was working for, and its engraved on the back so its very sentimental. Unfortunately it was in a dreadful state, missing the band, crystal, and hands, and it was definitely not working. I wasnt even sure if it was possible to fix, but Ron said he could do it. When I picked it up I was thrilled, Ron did such a beautiful job! (See the before and after photo.) It wasnt cheap, but given the extent of the damage and the sentimental value it was well worth it. I also got great service when I brought the watch back in recently for a couple tweaks. Highly recommended!

Dropped off my dads old Zodiac SeaWolf (over 50 years old) that had been sitting in a drawer for the last 20 years, along with my Hamilton automatic whose crystal kept breaking, without impact, in cold weather (Id tried three other repair services, including the official Hamilton facility, with no luck). Ron overhauled both watches and now theyre both running perfectly and looking great, too. Took my vintage Omega to the shop for a battery replacement right before the lock-down began. Service and communication were both quick and tremendously professional. Ive used several other watchmakers in NYC and this was definitely the most pleasant experience Ive had. As I did not feel comfortable to come into the city to pick up my watch, Rons team accommodated me by arranging insured shipment of the watch to me. After 20 years of having my Submarine Oyster Rolex with no maintenance I decided to send my watch to Ron Gordon. At the beginning I was a little scare due I left my watch few weeks before NYC locked down everything. But Ron always update me the status on email and finally I have a very almost new Rolex. I found Ron Gordon on Google when looking for a certified Rolex repair shop. My watch belonged to my Grandfather and was bought by my Grandmother, new, in the 1950s. After serving in the Navy in WW2, my grandfather returned to central Virginia to tend to the family plot of land as a farmer until his death in 1978. He wore this watch every day of his life and no one has worn it since. I mention that because it was pretty beat up from years of service on a laborer when I brought it in.Ron treated myself and my familys heirloom with the same care and respect that you would anticipate him to treat his own familys property. We are from North Carolina and were visiting family in NYC. We took a watch we were given by my husbands father who served in WWII and was a POW in Germany. One of the guards confiscated the watch upon captivity. When the Allies approached at the end of the war, Steves dad asked for his watch to be returned. The guard returned it to him and it was gifted to his son, Steve. We needed to get the crystal repaired and read about Ron Gordon. We thought it would be hugely expensive because it is a very expensive watch. Ron looked at it, polished the crystal, charged $20 for a new band and we were on our way. We have 3 other pocket watches to send to him for refurbishing. Excellent craftsmanship! I had two Omega watches completely overhauled by Ron. The 1973 Omega Seamaster, was completely rebuilt. Ron found a new original orange hands and parts! Amazing. I did my research through Omega, then met with Ron Gordon about my vintage sea-master professional. This is a family heirloom, it had water damage, corrosion, needed the works. At a comparable price to going to Omega directly, I didnt have to ship it out, I was able to meet with the people handling my watch, and it was well worth the 8 weeks to have my watch presented to me looking like new.

Terrible experience. Took them a week to exam the watch. Ron gave me the quote and cost twice as the manufacturers repair. I told them I would rather send my watch to the manufacturer since you guys charging twice as much. Shoot, the receptionist lady heard me taking my watch back she gave me the attitude and the owner Ron was the same thing giving me the rude attitude. Just be aware and go else where. Spend your hard earned money else where where people treating you like a human being.

Really honest and nice local business. I took in a few watches that needed new batteries and a watch that needed a link adjustment. Charged me $25/battery (and he tested the seal for water resistance!) and $20 for the band adjustment. Made the repairs and adjustment while I waited. Would happily come back again!

I would like recommend Ron Gorden Watch Repair. I have a Citizen Eco Drive that I managed to break the glass and a couple hands on. I was afraid I was going to have to replace the whole watch. It was a gift and I really hated just buying a new one. Being relatively new to New York. I didnt want to drop the watch off and never see it again. I did some research and Ron has a extensive back ground in watch repair and has been in business for quite sometime. I felt good about leaving the watch with him. I dropped off my watch they said they would call with an estimate when they got a price on parts. I was really worried that the price of the repair was going to be more than a new watch since most of the reviews where people with Rolex-es. I called back about a week and a half later and was told it was going to be just over 100$ and they could have the parts in two weeks. I asked if I could put a rush on. That was no problem for just a little more. I received a call a week later telling me my watch was ready. Im writing this because I read a lot of reviews and they where all about Rolex-es. I couldnt find anything on Citizen Eco Drive. If you find yourself in the same situation I highly recommend Ron Gorden.

Thankfully I found Ron on a trip to NY and he was able to change the batteries of my favorite Skagen dual time zone watch. This may not sound like that big of a deal, but my watch had been in a box for a year and a half because I could not find anyone with the proper tools to open the back in Calgary, AB Canada. I brought a vintage Rolex datejust to Ron Gordon Watch Repair for servicing because I had noticed more resistance and a sticky feeling when winding the watch manually. The watch could still be set, wound, would power automatically and kept time.Ron inspected my watch, but I declined to have the servicing done. When I picked the watch up, it did not work at all. It cant be set, wont wind, and doesnt run. When I called, Ron and his assistant told me that the watch wasnt running when I brought it in. This is completely false. Ron wound the watch when I dropped it off so that he could see what I meant when I described the stickiness. Ron provided me with a ticket when I dropped off the watch, which states my description of the problem: Watch difficult to wind.When I called to ask about how this could have happened, Ron told me that he discovered that the automatic wheel was broken in half. This damage does not appear on the estimate Ron sent to me for servicing. It also must have happened after I dropped the watch off, because I had been wearing it for several days before bringing it in, and it was running and the automatic winding function was operational. Rons assistant yelled at me on the phone (I asked her to stop yelling so we could discuss) and ultimately hung up on me.I do not know if Ron damaged the watch in an attempt to upsell me on unnecessary repairs, or if he accidentally damaged the watch while inspecting it, but based on the damage to the watch and the completely dishonest and unprofessional way they responded to my inquiry, I highly recommend taking your business elsewhere.

I brought in my Tag Heur that had minor water damage from being in a swimming pool. The unfriendly lady told me that she would get back to me in a week.A week later I followed up. She told me that my $1,000 watch would take 8 weeks to repair and would cost $700. I was in shock and was also taken aback by her abrasive attitude.I told them that I wanted a second opinion so picked up the watch and took it to a reputable place in New Jersey. $45 and 3 days later I have my Tag back good as new.What a shake down!

Had a Rado watch that I wanted to switch out a metal band for a leather band and took it to 4 different places in Florida that said either it couldnt be done, that there wasnt a bad that existed for the watch or were perplexed on where to start. Thought the watch had been butchered! But sight unseen, I mailed my watch to them explaining my plight off of a referral from my Uncle. Not only were they able to save my watch, they installed a factory leather band (which was one of a kind) and was able to speak to Ron himself to thank him. Excellent work and great service. What a great find --- a neighborhood small business that focuses on client service. I went in for two battery replacements at the recommendation of a friend. I fully expected to have to leave them and pick them up later. But they did the work immediately. When I then inquired about polishing the crystal of my vintage Rolex he took a look, went out back, and came out 5 minutes later with the crystal looking like new. Good prices and friendly, responsive service. I am glad I found them.

Have travelled to many cities for the past year seeing if I could find someone to adjust the stretch wristband on my deceased fathers heirloom watch. Ron was the first watch craftsman who understood the mechanism and explained that while its a costly and lengthy task that it could be completed so I could keep the original wristband. Others up to that point had only suggested to buy a replacement band.Ron understood the intrinsic value placed on the piece and treated the piece with the utmost care and respect. He didnt bawk at my request but was very honest about the process and mechanics in their entirety.The adjustment took a few days and you cant tell where the band was split to remove the links.Even Rons secretary Lolita was very respectful and followed up with me when my watch was ready AHEAD of time!Really a great experience. This may have been a honest mistake but Im not sure. I was told my watch stopped working because it was dried out and needed a full service, which isnt too crazy. Approx. $850. I opted not to have this done and brought my watch back home and had my local watchmaker look at it. He found a tiny piece of dust of blocking a gear on part of the winding mechanism and fixed it free of charge with minimal work. He also said it did not need cleaning and was still looking good from its last service 4 years ago. Additionally, to suggest I buy new hands on a 69 Seamaster is a bit silly when they are only slightly tarnished and original. Anyway, maybe my watch wasnt expensive enough to warrant a real free estimate or look at thoroughly, but Im not impressed.

Ron recently overhauled my pre-moon Omega Speedmaster Pro.It had been non-operational and sitting in a closet for 30+ years. As promised, the watch was returned to me looking brand new and functioning like it did in 1968, when I received it as a gift. There was a sense of apprehension upon my first visit to the offices of Ron Gordon at 280 Madison ave NYC, which were validated and confirmed, when they appraised the very modest repair to my Baume Mercier watch. Notwithstanding the ridiculous time to make these minor repairs (8 weeks minimum), it was the rigidity of the exorbitant cost and the lower east side manner in which the proprietor engaged me to extract the $$. The only watch I may consider to have repaired by Ron Gordon would be a Mickey Mouse watch (if I owned one), which would surely complement his business acumen.

My IWC watch stopped functioning so I googled IWC watch repair in NYC and Ron Gordon came up, so I took my watch there which was a few blocks from my job. I spoke to Ron Gordon personally and I felt comfortable enough to leave my watch with him for his observation on the repair cost etc. I Got my IWC back from Ron Gordon watch repair and my watch was done beautifully, keeping perfect time. I was given tips how to take care of my watch. I felt very comfortable knowing that Ron Gordon does all his repair work on premises. I will be recommending Ron Gordon to all my friends and family with their watch repairs. His service was excellent and professional. I do admire these qualities in him.

I was a customer here a few times and the service was decent, your usual jeweler etc. When I saw that someone posted a bad review and the owner of this store tried to sue him over it, I was appalled. Sometimes people arent happy with the service they were given, thats business. I will for sure never bring my business here since the owner might sue me if I am not happy about the service. Ive been going to Ron since 1993 he provides excellent service and all his repairs are top notch. I work in the television business and a lot of my colleagues bought there stop watches from Ron back in before the digital era. Ron Gordon makes sitting in 2.5 hours of traffic from the East End of Long Island worth the commute!After two attempts from other watch professionals taking apart my brietling, I decided to let Ron take a look and I’m sure glad I did. He is a true professional that knows his business. If I could give 10 stars I would. Ron Gordon Watch Repair refurbished my husbands Jaeger-LeCoultre watch from 1970. I spoke with Jaeger-LeCoultre and they wanted a lot of money and almost a year to complete the repair withOUT a guarantee, Ron did it in a few months and was very reasonable. ANY repairs need to our vintage watches will all be done by Ron Gordon. Thank you!

From now on this is the place where I bring all my watches next time.Mr.Gordon answered all my questions honestly and very professionally. I brought 2 Movado and 1 Lohgines. Before caming, I spent 1 our to call Movado Customer Service. They promised to replace batteries for 2 weeks(!!!!) Mr.Gordon replaced all three in my present for 15 min (!!!). I needed additional link for Logines. Mr. Gordon made a few calls trying to solve this issue. He call to manufacture.And explained that this kind of bracelet was discontinued . His attitude and his lady-assistants attitude was very nice and polite. The price was very reasonable.Plus, he made water resistant test without additional charge.
