Love this site! Very intuitive, easy on the eye, lots of jobs, you receive emails with suggested jobs and it’s pretty cheap if paying monthly. I landed a commercial 10 minutes from my home for ESPN and I was a member for just 2 weeks. It’s the best!

I was not really sure how many stars to give them because I was never personally mistreated or have never received rude treatment. I will say that after my first job, which went well I was contacted for availability on a few occasions and submitted and never heard from anyone again. I mean at all never received any other correspondence email or text not sure why. Overall i would say the agency seems to be great for some not so good for others, so sign up with them but also register with other agencies as-well. Good luck!

I signed my son up with this agency back in Jan 2019, he is now 12. My son is an aspiring superhero actor and I am not necessarily in the position to pay for costly acting lessons. The experiences he has had with this agency over the years ultimately paid for him to get the experiences he needed to train as an actor and earn him the credits he needed for him to join the union.I saw some of the negative reviews and was inspired to give my feedback as I believe it us important to be fair.1) you HAVE to be flexible and committed. Most likely you will find out the night before the shoot what wardrobe you should bring, and when and where you need to report the next day. If this inconvenience is disruptive for your lifestyle then maybe this is not the route you want to take in this profession.2) check your email/texts/their website religiously for opportunities. Who knows when one will come up that fits your description but respond immediately.3) on the day of the shoot it is better to be early than a minute late. The staff responsible for organizing DO NOT want to focus on finding people or replacements last minute. It makes everyones life easier if people report to their designated location on time.4) be prepared for the hurry up and wait. If you are clever you will bring work for another job/hobby on set to keep you occupied.I personally feel sooo incredibly fortunate for finding this option for my son as it has definitely moved his budding career forward. It is not his only gig but I consider it his main acting education as he has adjusted to the work ethic and responsibilities required for the film/television industry.Covid threw the industry as a whole a curve ball. The testing they have put in place kept the set safe, I personally had an issue where my son was tested in advance of a shoot and tested positive and they were really thorough about making sure he was not in contact with other staff and gave me info to keep him quarantined. He has been able to work since as well, so the fear of him being black listed in any way was erased. They also came up with technology to help adapt to these changes. I have had a really positive experience with this company and would recommend it as a valuable step on the path to becoming a actor.

I started out with Central Casting. Great place to start your acting experience and to get to know what happens on set. Central is my favorite and they book you, its amazing to work with them in my opinion. Also if you come unprepared it shows your poor character so don’t bother coming to CC if you’re not correct!They don’t have time for your careless waysAnd thanks to them I am moving fwd in something that was a sole dream in my head wow! I’m sag-aftra now and I started at the very bottom, hope this helps, come correct!

I Enjoyed Working Wit Freeman n th Dr everyone was great I love working with Central casting n Th New Amsterdam is a Great Show to play in all Central casting people wherent that friendly but everyone else was kool I loved it great to work with except maybe 2 workers runtown friendly but everyone else is cool

They were very friendly and the wait wasnt very long at all. The ladies at the front were patient and helpful. I can always appreciate a business that employs personnel who strive to offer great service no matter how many people theyre in contact with throughout their shift.

TERRIBLE PEOPLE SKILLS! You would think a company that starts a lot of people’s career would be more welcoming and helpful but instead they seemed like they didn’t really wanna do their job and they just wanted me to leave. That felt very uncomfortable and I felt almost discriminated because of me being gay and yes I may have not had all the documentation they required because I was a little confused with the the registration I did online but I came all the way from CT on a train to make this appointment and took the day of work for no reason the least the company could’ve allowed me would’ve been to sit threw the session and then come back another day with the documents. I will not be coming back. And then she told me come back at 11:45 I get there at 11:38 and she tells me to wait in the hallway that I couldn’t sit down when I’m a harmless person that came in with a good attitude and nice approach and I was the only one who had to wait outside while others got to walk in and sit.

I took my son there to register him, so far the process was simple. The ladies worked promptly but still answered questions during the process. Im not sure if all the bad reviews are fake but I do not see how there could have been any room for error. They have a efficient process and we were in and out. Im looking forward to seeing if my son can get work. I will be back to register myself and other children.I like that they werent trying to get hundreds of dollars out of us. Ive seen and heard about a lot of scams. Some companies charge money to take photos and they didnt,They even allowed him to retake his photo when he didnt like it. The process wasnt rushed either!

I registered with Central Casting and the next week I was on the set of Power. Great courteous staff. Updates are quick and easy. Its a great way to make some extra money if you arent a full time actor.

Central Casting NY has kept me busy around town on several film sets. They are very professional and the building is located across the street from the iconic Madison Square Garden.

It was really easy to sign up. I got 2 calls within the first 2 weeks. If this is something you really want to do and will be dedicated to, Central Castings is a great stepping stone. I had so much fun back stage and being a part of the greater picture in the end. Love them! Do it!

Im not impressed at all how they run their new location. I find the staff to be very impersonal and just interested in getting the photos done quickly. The quality of the photos are poor. I dont understand why they do not just let folks update their own photos on their profiles. Each time you want to take a photo in a different outfit you will have to make an appointment. The appointments are not easy to get. There should also be appointments on Saturdays for those who work in the week and cant make it during work hours. I think some changes need to be made here, to accommodate all those who work as actors, through central casting. Lastly, they need to let folks inside when they show up a little early for their appointment. They do have enough seating inside the office. Show some more consideration for those who come to work for you.[

Great way to get your feet wet in show business. Hurry up and wait is the game plan so dont have any other obligations while committing to a Background gig. Plus they pay ya a C- note for every job that you do. So why not get paid loving what you do. But dont make a career outta it.

Words cannot express how grateful I am for this company existing. Registered a month ago and got my first gig a week ago! But even before that, they contacted me consistently for different jobs and just knowing that, I feel confident and secure climbing my way up the ladder 😃

I see so many negative reviews but I would like to take a moment to provide some positive feedback. I greatly enjoy working with this agency. A few weeks ago I was heading to a shoot and could not find the building (my sense of direction is poor even with a GPS) and the girl on the phone was kind enough to assist me to make sure I found the holding area. Yesterday, I had sent a fax inquiring as to when a show I worked on would be airing and this morning I received a very nice and detailed message providing me with the information. Thank you for a job well done. I look forward to many more promising situations.

Potential trigger warning for genderqueer talent: all paperwork is binary, but theyll let you write in your nonbinary gender in certain areas. All clothing descriptors are also binary but if you dont know a particular size theyll grab that measurement. If your dead name is still on your legal documents, register for your appointment with that name or the security guard wont let you up; CC *will* let you put your chosen name on most of the documents (except employment verification docs). I have no prior experience and didnt know what to expect -- while certainly more could be done re: inclusive language where that flexibility is permitted, the way they handled my concerns was far better than in other situations Ive been in. Terrible people skills, directors on set are unhelpful when placed on set. It’s very unorganized, and stressful, directors are unpleasant when asking for assistance on what needs to be done. If you looking for other talent agency’s; try else were.

Security at the front desk gave me trouble. I was scheduled to attend a non union member regestration session at 315. I called 20 min prior to it to confirm and they told me to come in. When I arrived security asked for my Id and I provided them with it. The security guy immediately told me that I was not on the list and to call the agency to put me on the list. So I did but was told that it was to late. Keep in mind I had arrived in time but security kept me on standby. I had a confirmation email confirming my registration for this day. When I Asked the front desk to let me view the computer screen with the list there was someone scheduled having my last name and a first name similar to mine but a little modified. This is obviously to much of a huge coincidence I told him that there was no way someone was upstairs Im the registration room with my last name and a similar first name. He told me it wasnt me. My instinct is telling me the security was racially biased and on the spot orchastrated the whole thing to prevent me from getting to my appointment. Nevertheless it was a painful experience to the point were I wasted the while day I felt like crying afterwards I felt cheated on and neglected.

Everyone seems nice but for casting for background its pretty impossible to get work. Thats my only concern you cant get work at all. And you can only submit through Casting Network 20 a month which seems like a scam. I liked when you called in to get work. You could work alot that way and race or anything else dont determined whether you got work. Its very very hard to get background work. But everyone seems super nice.

I dont usually write bad reviews but I feel the urge to bring some awareness to those who want to sign up with Central Casting. Their policy is DISCRIMINATORY against work-authorized individuals/immigrants with a LEGAL working permit. I was granted my O-1 EXTRAORDINARY ABILITY VISA; I have been legally authorized to work in the US under ANY employer... and the process to obtain such visa wasnt easy because you have to prove to the government that you are extraordinary in your field of expertise. I DONT THINK ITS FAIR THAT CENTRAL CASTING DOESNT ACCEPT PEOPLE WHO HAVE A LEGAL WORK PERMIT. I was unfairly denied the opportunity to join their roster. Its not only frustrating its also against the law. Central Casting should change their policy immediately.

This company is amazing, I sign up with Central Casting on 3/12/19, I was on the set of New Amsterdam Within two-day, it one of my favorite show, It was an awesome experience, the crew member were so professional and very helpful I enjoy every moment of it thank you.

I will endeavour to go to them for the new year. About 20 years ago I was an extra for Chuck Norris and Jerry Seinfeld, only because I was a boxer and the cast came to my gym to look for extras. Now Im 39 and miss the scenery. What do I need initially when I walk into their office? Where can I get reasonably priced headshots from?

Went on recently to update my Union status and with an appointment, I was in and out of there in less than 20 minutes. They have the registration system down to a masterful science.

The ladies who run central are fun and pleasant.

Such great service I signed up a few weeks ago and returned recently to add more photos to my profile, they were very helpful especially the front desk associate she helped me with my paper work, she was very kind...you never really forget the kindness of people that take timeout to patiently help you in environments where things need to move rapidly ❤

After reading the bad reviews I wasnt sure about going to Central but when I got there to register, it was not bad at all. Went over the paperwork(packet), they snapped my shot and I was on my way but I need to take my shot over... I look crazy in that photo lol. Hopefully I can get some background work that can possibly lead to some bigger roles in the near future.

While first my aunt is on law in order because of central casting. My aunt want me to go to the central casting. I am going to apply tomorrow and I am so happy to start something new in my life I hope I get in it will mean a lot to me

Theyre one of the worst talent agencys in new york city they always mislead you with old old recordings of work they mostly advertise what your not into so of your an adult you will only hear work for children if you keep calling its always recordings after they speak to you only 1 time then thats it your better off going to another agency this agency sucks I was here for over 3 yrs I never got any work except 1 go see which ended up being the wrong address dont try this agency its a waste of time and once they know you have a problem they wont talk to you and if you try you will be redirected to someone else or another line which they will make you wait for years on the phone or you will be lead to a recorded message

The people working here are extremely rude. I just called today to cancel a casting, the guy responded by saying of course you do then he told me you should work on your acting skills. I dont understand why he had to be so condescending. Whats the point of allowing us to cancel if your response is going to be disrespectful ?

When I was told this past year that minors needed i9 I was a little fusrated because what kind of Id do you show for a three year old? Well I finally got one for him. Anyways I was able to sign up my oldest son back in February. Since then hes gotten four guys in six months from them on top of several from e!ens kids. The last role he got was a principal role. His first principal role and I almost cried it was so cool.My oldest dream is to work on any fast and the furious movies with vin diesal. He knows its a long shot but who knows.I dont think if it wasnt for Central casting then he wouldnt be were he is today.

Central Casting is not an agency I recommend at all for anyone pursuing a career as an actor. They do not treat actors kindly, they are condescending and downright rude. While there are some great people working there, the majority of the staff is extremely unpleasant. They stress heavily the need to be professional on set and overall while working on a film or TV show meanwhile they address you in the most unprofessional manner. To them you are a complete idiot and they will talk to you as such. CC is very disorganized, their call lines with casting notices are terrible in quality. If you are looking to learn & gain experience working on a TV/film set this may a way to get you on the set however going through the way CC treats you is not worth it, do yourself a favor and sign up with another agency or apply to production companies to start working as a production assistant on set or other misc jobs that grant you access to set and learn the system by doing the work. Hope this review helps lots of actors or anyone interested in similar work. If you want to be treated with respect, this is not a place you will.
