I went there too make some money the lady in there told me no skateboards and kicked me out to the street zero tolerance shout out the restaurant next door for holding my board there were no signs inside or outside saying no vehicles/rides or anything not even a picture. The message is to be careful with these people and there made up unlisted rules.
They provide a variety of great services. They need an upgrade at the front desk. I asked the guy for directions and he ignored me until he was ready. He even helped someone before he helped me. I didnt know him, and if I treated a client that way I might not have a job.
Worked in one of the offices as a temp. Worked with awesome staff! Security staff was always friendly and welcoming, other staff such as building coordinator, not so much...
So far this place has been wonderful. All kind of social services program are provided in this building. Different community organizations provides services for the community so its empowering. Other law enforcement service are also provided there. Its a safe environment with security guards.
The services are good if you know the right people. The front is usually over crowded with people and sometimes the security officers dont know what theyre doing or theres too many people for them to manage because they only have two security guards. The people who work there are usually rude, not all of them but a good majority of them especially when it comes to the nmpp group. Ive heard a lot of weird and personal stories of the main client of the building who runs all the programs or oversees the programs. Not even she is aware of all the staff that the programs hire because she mainly sticks the clients heads of the programs. But as far as all the employees go, she doesnt know everybody and expects security to know everybody. IDs are constantly checked. Not once or twice a day, constantly throughout the day when youre leaving in and out of the building do you have to display ID. And its not security fault.
We need more cultural institutions. Support the arts please.
Awsome place but security act like they are scared of black people. Thats the only draw back. I would have giving them five stars but when I feel like a second class citizen I have to have my reserves.
