Burton Weaver was great to work with! We moved to the city from Detroit, and he was incredibly flexible and easy to coordinate with over email and text during the entire process. Burton was amazing at quickly understanding our needs and finding our perfect space after only viewing two units. What we also appreciated was the walking tour he facilitated through two potential neighborhoods -- as we approached viewings -- so we could get a clear understanding of the area’s culture, great food spots, and essential needs such as supermarkets, laundry etc. Coordinating paperwork for the application was simple (even from another state) and Burton made sure to keep things focused and strategic with regard to what materials would enhance our chances of landing the apartment; he reviewed our final package in detail to clearly meet our buildings management needs. If you are looking for a genuine and down-to-earth realtor who will be an asset in your search for a home in New York City absolutely hire Burton.
Lewis Tillman is a gem! He was incredibly patient with me and kept up with everything while I was navigating the difficult New York rental marketplace. He is absolutely fantastic at his work and the fact that he cares about what happens to his clientele is what makes him a stand out. I cannot thank him enough for his coolness and kindness in everything, and I highly recommend highline residential!
Our family had the pleasure of working with Yakub recently on an apartment search in Harlem. We found Yakub to be professional, experienced and responsive. We would endorse him as a highly capable agent and recommend his services to anyone looking for property to rent or buy in the New York City area.
Inquired and applied for an apartment. Our broker, Alexander Ryzinski didnt provide much of any guidance, didnt work with us in anyway to strengthen our application (he was made aware Im currently in medical school which should have prompted a guarantor conversation, which never happened), he reassured us and pushed us to complete the application process (which costs $40), and didnt tell us there were other applications being processed at the same time as we were applying, which would have prompted us to look elsewhere. Messages were short and not detailed. He had to be pushed to provide additional details on the application decision. Very impersonal, less than stellar communication, unprofessional, and overall unsatisfactory.
I am a case manager and I work with young adults and veterans. Yakub has been extremely professional, honest, responsive and helpful in assisting my clients in obtaining permanent and stable housing. I would personally recommend Highline to anyone. It has been a pleasure working with them.
Don’t trust this agency. Patricia used a fake excuse to justify another applicant ahead of us.She should be disqualified from working in this field.
Yakub was wonderful to work with and extremely professional from the start. He was able to work with my limited schedule in showing me the apartment. He was incredibly informative about the property and his communication was clear. While in the application process, he worked efficiently to make the process seamlessly smooth, communicating with me each step of the way, and answering any questions I had. He is personable and takes his job seriously to ensure that both landlord & tenant are cared for completely. I couldnt have wished to be in better hands and would highly recommend Yakub to anyone who is looking for an amazing real estate professional to work with.
Yigal is simply outstanding!!!! He is informative, he takes the time to listen to his clients, and best of all he makes sure that they receive the best. I was not an easy client, as I was not sure what I wanted myself, but Yigal was extremely patient with me, and helped me find my home during the pandemic, which is super hard to begin with, as we are not able to visit each apartment, however he made sure that there were no surprises. What sets Yigal apart is that he doesnt just help you sign a lease and then say bye, if you have a question about the apartment after, he would go out of his way to help you find the answers. All in all he is a great broker!!! Highly highly recommend him!
Yakub, thank you sooo much! You are a god-send! We was losing hope when we was applying to many apartments as they were rejecting us. I was about to give up until I bumped into Yakubs profile with open apartments. I gave it a try and i am so thankful and glad that i gave another chance. Yakub is such a generous, genuine, and hardworking man who is willing to give a full 100% of effort. I truly recommend him! He wont let you down. Our housing application process was unique and different since I am on government assistance. Even though my application process was different and stressful, Yakub have made us feel assured that we will get this process done successfully. Thank you Yakub! You have saved us. You have helped my kids and I into a great apartment.
The agency looked promising, but the agents working for them seem to be unprofessional. We tried to set up a meeting with Mr. Thomas, but he never returned our calls. We were looking forward to working with them, since our friends used the same agency last year and had a great experience. Perhaps it was an off day, but we have to move on to another agency while I change jobs and prepare for the big move.
I work here if you need an apartment or home you can help you
Very Good Professional From A Group Of Agents After Experiencing Bad With Another Company In Midtown Manhattan They Got Me & My Boyfriend A Really Nice Apartment In The Lower Eastside For Way Under Market Will Definitely Recommend Them Anyone Looking For A Rental Apartment.
Yakub is knowledgeable, attentive and highly communicative. He answered my questions and concerns in a quick and reliable manner, seeing everything through until the end. With a friendly and positive attitude he took the stress out of the entire process - Id highly recommend Yakub !
Highline Residential and agent Yakub Laguda helped me find someone to take over my lease. He was very professional, very kind and a really dedicated agent. I would totally recommend him if you need help renting your place and I will not hesitate to contact him if I need his service again in the future. Thank you so much Yakub!
I had the pleasure of working with Carl and he was simply fantastic! I had a unique situation where I needed help finding a candidate for a lease takeover for a time period longer than 12 months. From the beginning, he accommodated my hectic work schedule and came at 8 am to take professional photos of my apartment. By the end of day he had listed my apartment and scheduled several open houses. By the end of the week he had a qualifying application in. He gave me real-time feedback from prospective renters and was always available to answer my questions. Not only is Carl knowledgeable about the rental market but he is a kind person who made this stressful process feel manageable. It was abundantly clear that he only had his clients best interest in mind when managing this process. He knows how to stick up for his clients when something doesnt seem right and will work hard to get the best deal possible would highly recommend Carl to anyone looking for an apartment in NYC and will definitely be using him again.
LANDLORDS AND RENTERS STAY FAR AWAY FROM THIS UNPROFESSIONAL COMPANYSome of the most unprofessional people you will ever come across I won’t touch this firm with a 10 foot poll. I had the (dis)pleasure of dealing with Maria Zelaya and Imrul Hassan. They both suffer from terrible communication and unprofessionalism especially coming from Imurl who is a supposed “team leader.” We originally saw a property with Maria and expressed our interest right away. We put a “good faith deposit” of $500, you had to stay on top of her to hear anything at all. Long story short the owner felt that our dog might be an issue (even though it is pet friendly) and that another listing she had would be a better fit (same landlord). We agreed and discussed that she could keep the good faith deposit and apply it to the other apartment she was talking about even though the rent was higher, and we discussed the price range and we agreed to a figure (one would assume she went to the owner since she was negotiating but she didn’t). She had all the paperwork and everything in hand and since it was the same owner one would assume it would be a nice easy switch. It was back and forth for almost 2 weeks to see an apartment SHE ALREADY HAD A DEPOSIT FOR. I texted with her several times to ensure she had all the paperwork ready and all we had to do was see the apartment and everything else was good. I would call her and she would not call back (you would get a text occasionally but never a call, even when explicitly told to CALL Me). One would assume now she is scared to talk on the phone and avoids it as much as possible (how do you do that in real estate and how does the firm allow it?) It was nearing the first and I wanted to make sure there would be no issues. We finally get to see the apartment and she is now hesitating on price claiming we didn’t agree to anything and back-peddling on everything we discussed. She didn’t have the paperwork ready or anything for the deal to go through. This is when she is almost “forced” to loop in Imurl even though you could tell she was super hesitant to do so. We speak to him and everything seems good and this will be a quick and easy thing and ensure me he will follow up with me (he never does). After 2 phone calls and 2 texts later we follow up with Maria. Who says “ Hi Nick, im not sure how the conversation went with the landlord but Imrul told me the landlord isn’t accepting the application to rent.I’ve requested a refund with account for the $500.00 deposit. I apologize for the inconvenience and delay in time.” MIND YOU THIS IS 2 days before the end of the month and I can’t even get acknowledgment for Imurl himself. Literally leaving me to scramble. It became clear very fast that she never talked to the landlord or had anything put together, the price range for the landlord and myself were too far apart. Somehow she is showing properties and she DOESN’T EVEN KNOW WHAT THE CLIENT WANTS FOR IT. Meanwhile, she held a deposit and an application for that exact apartment and led on to believe the landlord saw the application. This is where i say there incompetence and lack of professionalism shine through. She replies “ It has nothing to do with in competence. We’re dealing with a private landlord, and sometimes they can be the biggest headache which often puts us in uncomfortable situations as the middle man.” Honestly, I’m not even mad at the landlord I’m mad at this company they should’ve known the clients (landlords) price range going into the showing because it’s YOUR JOB. The failure fell 100% with you on lack of communication between both your clients, the tenant, and the landlord. Both RENTERS AND LANDLORDS I WOULD STAY FAR AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY AS YOU CAN GET! The real icing on the cake was I found the apartment listed on street easy and according to the listing it had been up for 4 days SO THEY LISTED AN APARTMENT THEY ALREADY HAD A GOOD FAITH DEPOSIT FOR!!! Just stay far away from there shadiness
My first time looking for an apt to rent remotely and I couldn’t be more grateful to have Yakub Laguda aiding me in the entire apt searching process. Apt searching alone isn’t easy and Apt searching remotely is even harder but Yakub made it easy due to his extreme professionalism. Truly a pleasure working with Yakub!
I am so grateful to have met Maria. She is truly an angel, she made sure all of our needs were met. She is gracious, professional, persistent and sweet as ever but also a bull dog. She means business. All I can say is wow. Thank you so much Maria.
Yakub provided me with great service. It was my first time renting out my home and he was very patient with me as I was learning the ropes. I would certainly hire Yakub again. He was very responsive, insightful and caring of the deal.
Yakub is absolutely superb! He took the time to get to know me and my family and my preferences. Early morning texts, late night phone calls and emails, felt like he was working 24/7 to find the perfect tenant for me! Yakub is always positive and cheerful and to top that off, he is incredibly knowledgeable, super responsive and most importantly, effective!Even now during this unprecedented time of a pandemic, he was able to rent one of the units in my building and it was a perfect match! Never thought I would be able to even rent it. He basically took care of everything for me, all of the background information, credit report, past landlord information, references, etc.I cant thank Yakub enough for all of his help!
I highly recommend working with Highline residential. I had the opportunity to work with Anna when applying for a new apartment. She was very professional, helpful, patient, and extremely nice throughout the process. I really felt like she was working for me and genuinely wanted me to be successful renting the apartment. Other brokers I have worked with at other firms have been rude, cold, impersonal, and very clearly just there to get their fee. Anna was the complete opposite of that!
I had a great experience working with this company. My agent Iyra was knowledgeable and very helpful. Found us an amazing underpriced apartment. I highly recommend the company.
Yakub was a pleasure to work with through the process of finding new tenants to take over our lease. He worked extremely hard on our behalf to find the best tenants in the fastest way possible, always keeping in mind our needs and desires. He was extremely professional, kind, prompt and responsive. We really could not ask for a better experience and outcome in our lease-take over.
Interesting office. The brokerage has an in-house software development team that builds software for agents to help customers find the perfect pad.
The president was by far the most educated and kind and down to earth people that I had the privilege of dealing with in a long time. I know where to go when I am ready to move...thank you so much
Highline Residental RE Brokerage was a dream to work with; provided video walk-thrus to show the apartment during COVID19 lockdowns and found me multiple qualified tenants within 2 weeks. Thanks, Imrul Hassan!
Yakub was a tremendous help in our apartment search. We were living in Florida and were trying to rent an apartment without seeing it in-person. Yakub made it entirely possible and made us feel completely comfortable. He did a video tour with us on FaceTime and took videos for us. This was all around Thanksgiving as well so he helped us quickly get the lease signed so we could enjoy our holiday. Highly recommend working with him.
Yakub Laguda provided a thorough and professional job throughout the entire process of my search for a home. After introducing himself, he explained my rights as a renter and provided all the details that I needed and had questions on. He always followed up, made himself available, and really went above and beyond-- which was in contrast to the majority of agents Ive met in my process to find a home, some of which never even gave me their name or asked me what I was looking for. I definitely felt considered and dignified in my search with Yakub and I highly recommend him for helping you find your home. Thank you Yakub!
Highline Residential is a great place to work and be an agent! The tech and agent tools are awesome.
Luis Estrella was an excellent agent to me and my family. He did every thing in his power to get me and my family an apartment because he knew how badly we wanted to find a new home. He never gave up no matter how many issues we ran into while trying to pursue a home. I would truly recommend him to anyone because he is a person that is very reliable and can always count on no matter what .
Update: Highline Residential’s manager called and offered to waive broker fees for any unit to remove this review.Potential renters be warned...they will not set up a viewing unless you reveal your credit score and income.I understand not wanting to waste time, but that should not be the first thing out of your mouth. After all, shouldn’t I save that information for the application and credit check that I would have to pay for?Agent Yakub, you are not suited for this profession. Please reconsider your career path before you go on and ruin the renters experience.
Jenn Troiano was incredible. She was more helpful than anyone Ive ever dealt with. I received continuous updates about properties I was interested in as well as other rentals that were similar in location, price, and size. It was truly a pleasure and I hope the next client enjoys working with her as much as I did.
I was unable to view the apartment so I asked my boyfriend to do it on my behalf. Due to my miscommunication, he was about 35 mins late. I take full responsibility for the delay. We both sincerely apologized to Brandon (the real estate agent I was in touch with) On meeting him, Brandon was extremely rude to my boyfriend. On email, I just mentioned that I was under the impression the listing was no fee (I had been reaching out to 10-15 listings daily so I just wanted to make sure whether it’s a fee or a no fee apt). Not once did I say I wasn’t interested in the apartment because of that. He said “Learn how to read and don’t waste my time again”. When my boyfriend messaged him saying this is not how one speaks to potential clients, Brandon rudely replied “Not a potential client so it’s not a problem”. This is not how one speaks to people in general, let alone clients.
Highly suspect—Yakub (the agent) demanded extensive personal information before even allowing me to view the apartment. I would have provided this information in my application happily, but sadly it never got that far because Yakub and his company don’t care to treat you with basic human kindness.Update: Yakub and his manager harassed me and tried to bribe me into taking this review down.
The broker that worked with me always seemed unprepared and very unorganized. We couldnt get in to see half of the apartments he scheduled either because we couldnt gain access to the building or we couldnt gain access to the apartment once we were in the building. Once I did find an apartment I liked he pestered me about putting in my application and got very annoyed when I inquired about other apartments. It was a very stressful situation and Im glad its over.
Leon was an exceptional agent. He was very determined and went above and beyond to find us the right apartment. He was very friendly and made us feel comfortable throughout the stressful moving process. I would highly recommend him to anyone looking for a new home.
Tyshawn is amazing! We moved from out of state and he was extremely accommodating, and even FaceTimed us from the apartment. He was there every step of the process and always answered calls and text, day and night. We are very happy in our new home.
Katherine Pino is like no other agent in the city, she actually cares about her clients! Ive never met a more authentic, kind, caring broker. She is also attentive, responsove, driven, and hard working. It helps that she also seems to have a huge book of apartments .
Good service and the speed of the response to the email and the phone I wish you good luck.
Super friendly and professional. Words cant describe the lengths these agents go through to make me feel secured and satisfied.
I wish that Google reviews would allow me to give Highline Residential as well as Keith Frazier zero stars.I saw an apartment on Street Easy that I thought sounded great for me since it was very close to where I currently work. I immediately emailed Keith and heard back from him about how they were showing the apartment later that day in an open house.I went to the open house, talked with the doorman as well as a few of the residents of the building, and waited for someone to show up to let me view the apartment. Well, no one ever did show up, which is seriously unprofessional. I had spoken to Keith earlier that day and confirmed that someone would be there to show me the apartment. The doorman ended up letting me into the building to see it. Although the apartment was a mess due to renovations, I liked the space and the tenants seemed to like the building so I called Keith to tell him I wanted to apply. After receiving the application materials via email, I texted Keith regarding certain aspects of the application that didnt fit with what hed told me about the apartment. The application had a line that stated that no pets at all were allowed in the building. When I told Keith I wanted to cross that line out of the agreement, he told me I couldnt do that. When I said that I wanted it in writing that I was allowed to have a pet in the apartment, Keith told me that if I need it in writing, this wont work.Well, of course I want it in writing - I wanted to make sure that I wasnt in violation of my lease terms if I did end up bringing a pet to the apartment. I asked Keith why the application said the building didnt allow pets when he had said that the apartment allowed pets. The response back I got was, Please hold off on the application. I am no longer sure this will work for the two of us. I have way too many clients that want to view this unit that will not have any desire to have a cat.I have been searching for an apartment for a while and I really liked this one and wanted it. However, I was not going to sign an application that said I couldnt have a pet. Its quite clear to me that Keith lied about the building allowing pets. Im also very sure that Keith is just out to get his broker fee without actually helping his clients. There I was a willing customer just wanting to get the apartment with a pet as Keith had claimed I could. Instead, I found out that Keith was just lying to me about particular aspects of the apartment. When I found out, he decided to leave me hanging because he had other people who could pay his fee.I am severely disappointed with how this turned out and I can honestly say that I do not recommend this company at all.
Marina was excellent to work with. I would highly recommend her as she is honest and cares about her customers in such a stressful process!
Very unprofessional and impolite. It is taking them more than 10 days to review my application. I still dont have an answer.
This is an update to my original review on yelp ...I tried to resolve my issues with the owner to no avail. So I did what most people do in this day and age and took to social media to share my horrible experiences with the public so they can be warned of the dishonest conduct by Highline. After reading the reviews I posted about this company, the owner Bilal called me and said that he would refund my entire brokerage fee if I agreed to remove the negative reviews that I posted about his company.Bilal gave me a long song and dance about how everyone perceives real estate brokers as sharks and that he constantly has to fight this impression and that any negative reviews will kill his business. After discussing the misinformation that Marcus gave me and what I had originally requested (my fee back which equates to the money I have to spend to be equal with what I thought I was renting), I agreed.I received a written contract from Jaspreet agreeing to refund the broker fee (which was over $2,900) in exchange for me removing the negative reviews. His email states Bilal has asked me to process this refund for you. I have attached a release document below. Please remove the reviews and sign the attached document. You can bring the signed document to (their address) and we will have a certified check ready for you to pick up as long as the reviews have been removed from all sites. Before you come, please give me 24 hour notice on a time you are planning on dropping by so I can make sure the check is ready.I requested a few minor modifications to the agreement and sent it back to Bilal and Jaspreet. After waiting a week and not hearing anything back from them, I followed up this morning. Another 8 hours went by and I sent a final follow up indicating that I was going to assume that their silence means that they are not following through with their written contract (Im paraphrasing) and that I would follow through with my complaints to various agencies and update my reviews.Low and behold, I received a speedy reply to that email saying I apologize but we will not be sending you the entire refund. Marcus feels very strongly that he helped you in every capicity and is refusing to refund his share of the compensation. The company can refund you our portion (35%) of the funds based on a new agreement. We both (Bilal and I) already knew that Marcus wouldnt return the fees. Bilal said that he couldnt recoup the fees back from Marcus but that he could put him on warning and if there was another complaint fire him. He said that his good ratings were so important that he would pay the fees out of company funds. So not only did Marcus misrepresent what came with the apartment but the owner sent me a written contract to return the fees and then backed out on it. And he wonders why people think real estate brokers are sharks?I would strongly consider using any other real estate broker than this one. They do not stand by their word (either verbal or written) and try to buy people off to remove negative reviews. I will be filing formal complaints with the better business bureau and the NY Department of State (who has jurisdiction over real estate brokers), emailing the landlord that the problem actually wasnt fixed because they backed out on their written agreement (oh yes, Bilal called the landlord because I warned her that they were going to move me and charge it to her) and file a small claims court. Is this a bit extreme? Yes but the way they acted is disgraceful and should not be tolerated. Renters take enough grief in this city - having dishonest brokers shouldnt be yet another thing we have to endure.
Smart, professional and talented agentsGreat working atmosphere!
Agents bait and switch and then continue to harass you when you say you are not interested in doing business with them. Based on interaction with Angelica Saludo.
Good stuff
Nothing to say look at the stars
