Not really an agency. They want you to take your own digitals, arrange your own portfolio, pay for and arrange your own test shoots, update your own measurements, and even submit yourself! If you don’t do all of the work yourself and attend their yoga pow wow’s, they get offended. Most lazy agents I’ve ever had and not a top agency anymore

Best agency in NYC! The team is amazing and they make it feel like a family. A family that wants you to be a professional and on top of your business when it comes to being talent. Work hard and theyll work hard with you! 🙌

I am a photographer in NYC and always need female and male models for a variety of shoots. In addition, many of my clients ask me for model agency recommendations. STATE is always first on my list. I have worked extensively with the awesome Dana C. but all the other bookers I have dealt with all exercised the same level of professionalism, attention to detail, and a sincere desire to help.

They have a ridiculous way of organizing an open call. They dont even take time to see you in person. The only reason why I even go to open calls is because I want them to see my walk/my different angles. They ask you to write down your name and measurements and hand them over with your pictures. They disappear for a few minutes and come back out with their decision WITHOUT SEEING YOU IN PERSON FIRST. I should have just submitted online. Waste of time. Submit from home or dont even bother with this agency...

After reading most of the reviews (curious about the negative ones) it supports the thought that people are often quick to complain dramatically when things dont go as they plan.Ive been in the industry 10+ years. Currently w/MSA for 2. Before my 1st contract, I spent years submitting and attending open calls. Ladies and Gents, YOURE ONLY AS GOOD AS YOUR WORST PICTURE. Advice given to me over the years. If youre not being asked in after getting your portfolio back, its likely that youre not right for them (right now). Theres only X amount of hours for them to see 20-40+ prospects. So....A) have a better outlook or you will never make it in the industry anyway (for every job we get comes a dozen or more rejections) andB) dont quit if you really want itSubmit and resubmit. The industry changes like the wind.I AM INCREDIBLY HAPPY AT MSA.Theyre supportive. They communicate. They have all taken the time to answer my questions. Even owner Susan Levine has hugged me hello on several occasions :) I work with 3 divisions thereYou are your own manager. Next time, before you leave, ask, What can I do to improve (photos, look etc). The worst that will happen is you get a vague answer. Or maybe youll get free advice so you can come back better prepared.Good Luck.

I have been with several MGMT companies over my time as a Model and MSA takes the cake. I work with Jaclyn in the Commercial/Lifestyle Dept. and Dani and Barbie in the Fashion Dept. and have also met wight he FIT Division (Marcy). If anyone has the ability to work with any of these individuals, do it! Theyre an amazing team and work hard and diligently to find work for all represented by them. Couldnt have asked for a better MGMT Team working for me!

They made all the models stand outside and fill out a piece of paper with our names and stats (measurments). Before you even have a chance to make it inside, they would either accept or turn you away based on your headshot. In all honesty, its a ridiculous strategy because anyone could lie in a headshot photo. They dont even take time to see you face to face or see your walk or if youve even acquired a new look that differs from thier photo. I was just so extremely dissatisfied with the overall casting process and have seen many more efficent ways to handling the castings. Unprofessional and Not worth your time.
