This is a great agency. They are on top of their game with castings as long as the parents submit updated pictures they will receive castings. Within a month of signing my son with them he received his first casting. He wasn’t chosen but that’s not on the agency. The staff are super helpful and informative. They’re so willing to go out of the way for their models. There’s a lot of scam agencies out there and this is not one of them. They know the ins and outs of this business. Highly recommend Ohlsson!

I’ve been wanting to get into modeling and acting but do u need experience to come here?

My son is represented by this agency. This is an honest and trust worthy group of people who have the children’s best interest at heart. When it comes to your child being casted, it is your responsibility to make sure your child is present, and if the brand does not choose your child, that is not to blame the agency. But I do know for sure that Ohlsson puts children in a pretty awesome position to be casted!

My daughter is signed with Ohlsson Model & Talent and we are so proud that she is part of the team. The owner, Brandis Ohlsson has been more than helpful. She is open to my questions and always responds quickly and professionally. She has really looked out for the best interest of my daughter. She understands that this is a business and will make tough calls but is also very caring.

Most of these are parents I have not personally met but “know” through social media.If it wasn’t for Ohlsson, my girls would not have had some of the experiences that they have had. Although she has legitimate clients, really turns potential applicants off with her association with a scam agency, or should I say modeling school.Response to agency:I surely would not write a review like this without factual information to back it up. My two girls attended the model search and an agent at the modeling school that runs this event advised my husband and I that Ohlsson was interested in my children. Thinking that we were scouted, we immediately got excited! Only to be brought in for an interview with them and be told that our girls cannot sign a contract with Ohlsson until the contract was signed with the mother agent (the modeling school). The contract could not be signed with the mother agent unless we paid for both of them ...5 and 7 years of age ..to take modeling classes and get some photos done after the fact. The total of the classes for the kids exceeded 2,000$. Why would a good agent associate with such a scam? By the way, other agencies scout and some do questionable things like scout at paid showcases, but I have never seen an agency in NY scout at modeling school operated events. It is of bad judgement to get children excited only to charge their parents 2,000 dollars for modeling classes. While Ohlsson is not a modeling school, maybe they should reconsider who they associate with when it is making people question their reputation. I will happily remove this review whenever people stop getting bait and switched by the other agency and using your agency to do it.

Brandis has been great and within the first couple of months my son got his first casting with a top company and once my daughter was signed she followed right behind him. They are on top of their work but you have to be on top of yours as well with sending in updates of your kids (sizes,photos,etc) they’ve really made this experience great for us so far and have been helpful in navigating with 2 young children!

With such a variety of talent, I feel Ohlsson does a great job with ensuring we all have fair and ample opportunity, with consideration to the current market needs. The agency is smaller in comparison to some of the other area competitors in Chicago, but your kid is going to be the unique little human that he or she is, not a number or description. The work that is done behind the scenes on your kiddo’s behalf is super-standard. The owner, Brandis is an authentic human, in a world and INDUSTRY that sometimes values the superficial. That’s greatly appreciated. The communication to families is always professional, honest and transparent with a dazzle of wisdom when sharing her insights—- all based on a wealth of industry knowledge and experiences. We’ve been with Ohlsson for many years now. I love the amount of heart and soul that goes into this agency.

Prior to signing with Ohlsson, my two sons were represented by another agency who has been in business a looooong time. My emails were rarely answered, parents were berated for asking questions, and the general agency environment was hostile. Working with Brandis has been a game changer. She never makes me feel like my questions are stupid, she’s prompt in her responses, and my son has actually booked jobs. Thanks to her frankness and openness, I know that I can trust what Brandis tells me and I’m so grateful for someone that has held my hand through this process. We are thrilled to be part of #teamohlsson!

At first I was happy to be part of what seemed to be a down to earth agency with friendly staff. However, as time went on, I did not like how the owner, Brandis spoke about parents of talent and hopeful parents of talent on social media as well as in an app the company uses for communication between parents and the agency. She is very condescending and negative with her comments on Instagram. I honestly was shocked to see how a so-called professional would risk her business by posting such things that are shockingly offensive and rude to parents whether with the agency or looking for representation for their children. What shocks me more are the parents who agree and applaud the negativity. Maybe those specific parents are just “kissing butt” for lack of a better term. Whatever the case may be, it’s not my cup of tea.While none of this was directed to me personally, it made me uncomfortable to be a part of this “team”, for I am not superficial and would not accept this treatment just to have my child represented by a talent agency. This is not how I raise my children to be. For these reasons, we signed with another agency.UPDATE:I am updating this review to reflect response from owner: I am not quite sure who she is referring to. Making assumptions that she knows who I am. Let’s just make one thing clear:I had never emailed her nor have I threatened her about leaving a negative review. THAT is childish. Nor would I beg or ask for giving my child more time. For what? So now she lies. I am not one of those parents who would do anything to have my child be a model or what have you. I went into this saying whatever happens happens, but I would never force my child to do something they did not enjoy or is not for them. Work or no work does not measure their “cuteness” or personality. I am not one of those parents who are going to be offended if my child does not get work. Like I said, I know my child’s worth and getting work or not getting work isn’t going to define who they are. I would not subject my kid to that lifestyle and it’s sad how many people do. And as for my child now being represented by another agency, it does not matter what she believes. My original point was how the owner treats clients and all the negativity posted on social media. That is what is childish. But if that’s your cup of tea, so be it. Everybody is different. I’m not surprised to see now how suddenly all the 5-star positive reviews come flooding in a few hours after I post this review (to be expected and completely understandable that they will support one another), but yet, accuses another negative reviewer of having something to do with me or my post? I don’t know that person nor do I need to play this game of Brandis’, who talks about being childish and not taking rejection well? Like I said, my point was about professionalism and how she belittles people (professional?) on her social media posts, not about whether this agency is “reputable” or not. If all you care about is having your child signed to any agency just to get them work, then by allmeans, this may work out for you just fine. And as for my child now being represented by another agency, it does not matter what she believes. Let’s make clear, I have nothing to gain by lying or falsifying info. One thing I have learned the hard way was to pay attention to what negative reviews say about a service or a product, even if it is one or two as opposed to many positives... as you can see per her responses to both one star reviews... For those who have had and continue to have positive experiences, that is great. I do not discredit that the agency does not have well-known, big clients or that they will not get your child work. Like any casting call or scouting, there is a specific look sought out for each job. It is not about how “cute” or “beautiful” one’s child is. Therefore, knowing this, there is no need to feel rejection.

Brandis is always always always ready to help, she responds quickly (by quickly I mean, almost always- immediately) to emails, IG DMs, etc. Ohlsson had interest in our daughter Scar & signed her along with our daughter Coco & son Alesso. The girls both had booked jobs by now, Scarlett booked her first job 2 weeks after signing and Collins 5 months after signing. Alesso has been on a casting but hasn’t booked anything yet. 🤞🏼 We are grateful they have been so great to us!
