I brought my wife and two teenage daughters to the class held yesterday, 6/27 in Madison Square Park. It was great and I was extremely happy that my family was able to learn techniques that may save them from harm some day. It was part instruction, part hands on, great class and highly recommend. Two hours flew by.

Gabs class was so helpful! Full of really useful street smarts to avoid any conflict in the first place. I really liked the simple and effective moves she showed us. Gab was super knowledgeable and really great to work with! Definitely going back.

The stuff taught here will get you seriously hurt if you try to use it. Find someplace that teaches some type of grappling. I’d recommend Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. It is tested and proved in self defense. This material is not.

Considering their videos I strongly recommend to dont rely on the physical aspects of her program. Any white belt at a proper luta livre or Bjj gym would do better than Mrs rubin after three weeks of training. Even two weeks of working the bag in a boxing gym would prepare you better for a physical altercation. If you want to be safe, you need to put effort into self defense, no way around this truth.

Wants people to be safe which is great but poor technical knowledge. If in new York theres plenty of Brazilian jiu-jitsu gyms thatll help you train. If not check out Gracie Jiu-jitsu Women Empowered course as its the real deal.

There seem to be a lot of negative reviews here from people calling themselves martial arts experts. obviously, if you want to become super skilled in hand-to-hand combat youre not going to learn that from a two-hour class. but personally, i dont want to learn krav maga or brazilian jiu-jitsu. im just someone who wants to feel capable of surviving any potentially dangerous confrontation. gabs class has helped me feel that way.

I am a life long martial artist, an amateur mma Fighter, a yellow belt in Krav Maga, a purple belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, a brown belt in Judo and a former D3 college wrestler. I have not attended this school but I have watched several videos on Tech/Business Insider featuring the owner of this school Gabrielle Rubin. I can say without a doubt the techniques she is teaching are absolutely ineffective. She is not only unfit to teach self defense but I fear she would be unable to defend herself in a dangerous situation.Self-defense cannot be taught in a two hour seminar, self defense is a life long discipline that should be practiced regularly. Anyone promising to teach you how to defend yourself in a couple of hours is a snake oil salesmen, a con. If you are serious about your own self defense please seek out a credentialed martial arts academy. If you are a first timer, I recommend Krav Maga as the art to start with.Best of luck to anyone looking to pursue their martial arts/self defense journey and please be safe.
