Fred is truly a creative genius. He has personally created for methe most amazing mink vest which I cannot take off. He also designed afabulous mink poncho that is a one of a kind sensation. I feel absolutely otherworldly when I am embraced by this truly exquisite piece. I also have 2 coats of his...so I am a VERY HAPPY CLIENT INDEED. I will definitely be checking in with Fred on my next trip to the East Coast to see what is new...A designer/Artist you should not miss...

I have three wonderful furs from Freddy Gelb. All three are very special and beautiful. Freddy has an extremely gifted eye for design and a huge selection in his showroom. He uses all of his sculptural talents in creating the perfect fur that is just right for the client. Alterations instead of a full remodeling is a cinch for him. He works on a one to one basis so everyone looks unique in their furs. My most recent purchase is the most stylish mink and leather vest. It is beyond stunning and I feel like a million in it!!Everyone leaves happy from this showroom

I inherited a mink coat from my step mother. I knew it needed to be reworked to make it my own, yet keep both the memory and the beauty intact. I took the coat to Frederick Gelb and he worked his magic. He creatively kept the integrity of the coat but made it current, gorgeous, and fashionable. Every time I wear it I get many compliments. I loved working with Freddie so much I went back and had another coat made. It is reversible so I can wear it to the grocery store or flip it inside out and wear it out for a nice night on the town. Again, I enjoyed working with Freddie so much that when I decided I wanted to add some fur to the cuffs and collar of my denim jacket I knew who would be the best to go to. Once again Freddie delivered a fabulous coat that gets so many compliments! I can’t wait to figure out what I “need” next.

The most amazing Furrier!! Not only does he offer the usual services: repairs, cleaning, glazing & summer storage with free pick-up and delivery, but his designs are over-the-top exceptional. Fred’s showroom is full of one of a kind designs (so you won’t see yourself coming & going). He is an artist (professional sculptor) and his designs reflect an artistic aesthetic not found in other showrooms. I have been a client of Fred Gelb for over 15 years. He still treats me like I am part of his family. His furs and workmanship are exquisite. If by chance a button is loose or something needs addressing Fred stands by his garment and is always glad to see u regardless of the reason. His furs are fairly priced but also has a super end of season sale.

When I wear one of Freddys masterpieces I always receive compliments and questions on where I got the coats! He does a wonderful job and every piece is unique and made to fit your specific body. He is open to always making any changes if you so desire. One of my coats he re-made for me was my great-grandmothers coat circa 1920. He brought it back to life and it is awesome wearing a one of a kind piece! Freddy offers every service from buying off the rack, custom design, cleaning, repairs, and storage. Have worked with Fred Gelb on several projects and he is professional in everything he does. His charity work is split among several groups and he is always generous with his time and efforts. He is also an accomplished sculptor that does interesting and creative works, again always thinking of ways to help non-profit groups by donating his time and efforts.
