Amazing weekend. So glad we went. Lots of useful material taught in two days. Saul was light and funny with a great energy as he presented the concepts. He made it so everyone ‘got it’ through stories and examples. This is his passion. As good as this workshop was there needs to be a commitment from both partners to do the work at home.

This was presented in a way that was enjoyable to explore understanding each other better. Extremely helpful material backed by science. We were able to put into practice the new tools we learned and left the workshop enlightened with knowing we can resolve conflict and have positive perspectives in the relationship.

I want to say this is a cram course in making your relationship better, but its much more than that. Its not a bunch of sessions crammed into a weekend. Instead it is an objective view of relationships and life. It gives you the tools and understanding necessary for not only repairing relationships but to build relationships as well. The workshop is something you though may be helpful, but didnt realize that you actually needed (Its based on actual scientific research). Regardless of where you are in your relationship, good, bad, or somewhere in-between, you can take something away from this course and apply it. I highly recommend taking he workshop. Literally was the most important workshop I’ve ever attended. Saul Stern is a game changer! This workshop is the best thing weve done for our marriage. Saul is knowledgeable, experienced and VERY funny. We felt welcomed and comfortable from minute one. This process changed the pattern of our interactions and gave us real, tangible tools and templates which we can (and DO) use going forward. We have tested these processes since participating in the weekend and can confirm that they work. Its one thing to feel positive about healthy change while in a workshop- but another matter entirely to have those changes stick. My only regret is not having found this sooner. Do it. Go. Every relationship can benefit from this method and Saul is so authentic- he loves and believes in his work and it shows.

Saul was excellent in his ability to keep things interesting and make time for all the couples throughout the weekend. The materials were easy to follow and most of the activities were really fun. Obviously, this intensive is only an introduction, but if you and your partner commit to setting as a few minutes each day to do the exercises, you will see an improvement!! At first you will be overwhelmed, but understand that its impossible to implement EVERYTHING, all the time. My best advice is to focus on 3-5 of the techniques, even something as simple as showing appreciation, as make it a point to do them everyday!! Eventually, they will become second nature and you can focus on something else!

This course should be mandatory for all married couples. The content was eye-opening, practical and easy to understand. Absolutely wonderful workshop. It sounds crazy, but our relationship literally improved in a matter of days. We could self-diagnose what our problems were, but we could not figure out how to solve them or to argue in a more productive way.This workshop gave us the tools and also a positive attitude about it.And Saul is absolutely excellent, he has a great sense of humour and a friendly approach that makes a hard subject easier to deal with

Saul had a unique ability, through his extensive marriage counseling training history, to intertwine the didactics of the Gottman program with his own personal experience, which added a unique color and flavor to the educational process. In addition, for the New Yorkers out there, hes a bit of Brooklyn Bravado from his youth, mixed with a more polished upper east side style from his adult life, now nicely tied into a Floridian more palatable style. I give him 5 stars!!

My husband Steve and I attended the Gottman Couples Weekend in Deerfield Beach FL given by Saul Stern. Saul spoke to each of us on the phone prior to the weekend so by the time we arrived, it was like we were meeting an old friend. He made the weekend “fun” with his re-telling of stories of his experiences with all different types of couples throughout his career. Everyone could relate and by telling the stories, we knew we were not alone. Saul introduced so many Gottman Institute techniques that we took home with us that I know will help us navigate this thing called marriage. I highly recommend making the time to attend one of his workshops.

Saul was very good with the way he presented the information. This work shop gives you a new understanding of how to work through your problems in a way that works. The information shows you a way to do this that your partner will have their needs met along with yourself feeling satisfied and complete in your own needs. This is not saying that it does not take work everyday, but the rewards will be a lifetime of happiness with your partner. If you are thinking of going, do it with a open mind and just see what happens. If you dont get anything out of it at least you spent the weekend with your partner and that alone is a start !Thanks Saul.

This workshop was so worthwhile! My husband and I both felt it was time and money very well spent - really positive, proactive, achievable framework to incorporate into our daily lives to improve our communication and affirm our trust and commitment to one another. It was not group therapy, or even couples therapy - the focus is not to rehash old fights and problems, although we did have opportunities to discuss (rationally!) conflicts we have had in the past and the source behind them, and then we worked on how to better handle conflicts as they inevitable arise. There is an emphasis on repair, healing and letting go of past negativity. Saul was kind, understanding, and funny - we found him to be a relatable leader who gave individual guidance during the exercises when needed. My opinion is that it’s best for couples that still like each other but need a communication reset. We would both recommend this!

The weekend workshop was quite simply life transformational. Saul is an amazing and talented facilitator who is clearly passionate about this work and helping people. We’ve been to weekly couples therapy sessions without result, therefore I expected more of the same. This was anything but. In one weekend, Saul gave us strategies to defeat communication problems, reoccurring disagreements or misunderstandings and disconnects.Probably most important to me and others; there was no need to raise hands or speak up in front of strangers, Saul did not need anyone to answer questions or put anyone on the spot. It was effortless.I highly recommend the workshop to anyone. This workshop is a refreshing look at communication and how to rework your steps to a different outcome. Although not a cure or a guarantee your relationship will work, it is worth exploring and can be used for all relationships-not just your significant other. As a psychologist, I was always impressed with the Gottmans emphasis on empirically derived principles of what makes marriages work (and not work). Saul Stern presented their work in a way that helped me expand my understanding of their work while also providing directions for me and my wife to deal with some of the conflicts and strains that weve experienced in our marriage. I highly recommend this workshop to all couples as an avenue to enhancing your relationship regardless of whether there are significant problems or you are open to making an already good thing even better.

Saul is a great coach, you really get the sense that he cares about your relationship and is invested in your continued success long after the weekend is over! His basic premise is: we have a finite amount of time on earth, dont waste time fighting the same fights and expect the result to change.

My husband did not want to go at first. However by the end of day one he saw the value. We had a major challenge immediately after this and while it isnt solving the problem it helps us talk rather then fight.

Saul is simply amazing in every aspect. He is professional, caring, heartfelt for the couples, truly gives his all for every couple. I was not sure if this would help me or both my wife and me. Way more than I could possibly have thought. There is no siding of who is right or wrong but teaches you the tools for a life that both of us will benefit from. After YEARS of begging my husband to do some work as a couple, we came upon Saul Stern and the Gottman workshop. It was life changing! My husband enjoyed it which is a miracle in itself! It is non-threatening; no need to share in the group, you work only with your own partner and the tools are simple and repeatable. We will be using many of the tools with our children as well. The materials include fun cards and reminders that keep it light and fun and can follow you home. This is NOT one of those things you forget in a few days. My wife and I found the workshop helpful in that it gave us language and tools to use to work through long-standing issues and smaller concerns. We were less impressed by the presenters style and overly conventional/heteronormative approach to relationships and sex.

Saul Stern was a very clear, effective speaker with plenty of enthusiasm for this most delicate of subjects. *I will not recommend the Gottman program to my LGBTQ friends & family. *On the other hand, our program leader Saul Stern, was as good as we could have ever wanted! My spouse and I are a lesbian couple and have renewed hopes and dreams for our future relationship, are excited to approach this new journey, and again it’s with profound thanks to Saul Stern’s expertise and humanity which he has in abundance.Even so, Gottman’s program is GLARINGLY outdated having ZERO reference to the LGBTQ community. We found this astounding being it’s 2019 and we’re in NYC. Even Cis-gendered couples mentioned their dismay to us. And especially when one considers there was a 2018 printing, seemingly an opportune time to update. Also surprising were the examples acted out in class - at the very least could have easily been turned into gender-neutral situations even with the (out)dated text. Understanding that Gottman can not include everything, this neglect in this day and age is inexcusable. As members of the LGBTQ community we have learned we must continuously adapt and adjust but this is one place where we should not have to. If the Gottman’s do choose to step up and join the living I will re-evaluate my opinion of their program at that time.Saul Stern easily earns his 5 star review and clearly requires no further evaluation! :)
