My wife tasked me with fixing our daughters sleep after we tried everything we could think of and had read all the articles and taken all the advice from friends and our parents. Nothing worked, and I was not convinced a sleep training course would work either. But we were desperate! By night 4 of implementing what we learned in the sleep training course, our daughter was doing the impossible: Falling asleep without needing us in the room! Kylees videos were easy to follow and hilarious! My wife and I actually looked forward to sitting down and watching them and doing the quizzes after the lessons. I send friends to this course any time they complain about their babys sleep. I wish we had found it sooner.
Kylee is a world class parent coach, and my husband and I consider ourselves so lucky to have had her help! Not only is she incredibly knowledgeable on all things parenting, she is so committed to the success of the families that she works with.We worked with Kylee to sleep and nap train our 4 month old baby. Within a few days of her coaching, he was sleeping through the night and successfully napping on his own in the crib! Were totally blown away by her methods and her ability to adjust and provide tailored tips and suggestions based on our baby and our familys needs.Working with Kylee will be one of the best decisions you make!
Kylee is has been helping us sleep train virtually with her sleep training videos, and its been amazing! Our daughter was a pretty good sleeper as a newborn, but once she left that stage we were really struggling to get her to sleep independently at night and for naps. Kylees coaching helped me break my own bad habits (always nursing her to sleep), which made our day/evening routines more sustainable for our family. Kylees is super communicative and helpful too –– I felt that I could really trust her advice. A full night of sleep seemed impossible, but Kylees videos helped us stay consistent with training, and we discovered that its definitely doable!
Kylee – and her sleep training course – has helped us tremendously in gifting our daughter (and us) the gift of sleep. My wife and I thought sleep training would just happen naturally and that it would be an easy transition. We were completely lost when we realized things werent going as planned or hoped for. We looked around online and discovered this video series by Kylee. Its provided us with all of the vital information and healthy habits we should be practicing with our daughter to prime her for restful sleep. In Kylees videos, she is warm, fun and very relatable. And theres so much content, that all of our questions were answered, and then some! If youre going through what we went through, and youre having troubles getting your kid to sleep, my wife and I highly recommend this video series!
We started working with Kylee when our little one was 7 months. We were desperate and Kylee saved us all from continued sleep deprivation. At Kylees recommendation we signed up for her Just Tell Us What To Do zoom package. At first I was worried that the hour zoom and follow up texts would not be enough guidance. But Kylee is beyond generous with her time and the texting is not just a simple yes or no answer but a complete understanding of the current problem and very thorough answers/suggestions. We have continued working with Kylee using the monthly texting plan. Knowing that we have her has been such a huge help. She not only helps Ruby, but truly helps reassure us as parents. We still have occasional early morning wake-ups and short naps, but we are worlds better than where we were. Ruby is able to fall asleep on her own no problem. Working with Kylee has been such a help and so worthwhile.
The only reason we succeeded is because we had Kylee. She gave us the strength, confidence, and knowledge we needed to get our daughter listening (and generally being more pleasant to be around) without feeling like we were doing something wrong. Our only regret is all the time we spent bribing and using timeouts, that seemed to make things worse. Dont do this without Kylee, she has tricks we never knew existed! And not that it should matter, but she is funny and real. It made it easier to feel comfortable with her.
Let me start by saying that I was totally skeptical of this whole “sleep training” thing. As the stubborn dad, I was thinking “what can this woman do? Wave a magic wand over my son and he’ll sleep?” Well the short answer is yes. From the second Kylee walked in she brought this positive, friendly energy with her. She felt more like a friend I had known for years rather than someone I had just hired to magically make my son sleep. Her positivity surprised me seeing as how she was about to stay up all night looking at a crying baby. She somehow made me feel extra comfortable in my own house? I don’t know, I don’t get it and I can’t explain it but that’s the energy she brought and I was all for it! If you’re considering sleep training, you need sleep training and I can confidently say, having tried no other sleep trainers, that Kylee is THE BEST one. Trust me on this. I’m writing this after night 3 where my son, who was up every 30 minutes 4 nights ago, just slept through the night. I also never really leave reviews let alone long ones like this. That should speak VOLUMES.
If I could give 10 stars I would! Kylee ended up feeling like a friend more than a coach. She gave me permission to be human as a mom. She taught me that my needs matter and how setting boundaries - as hard as it is - is whats best for my son and for me and my partner. If I had known about her sooner, I wouldnt have waited until the behavior was so out of control. But even with my son being 6, she was still able to turn his behavior around. Cannot recommend her highly enough! Even through the COVID19 stuff she didnt stop supporting us, which felt like above and beyond.
There is no one better or more knowledgeable than Kylee!! So grateful to have been introduced to her and she will be my go to for any and all baby/kid related “struggles” in the future. Consider yourself lucky if you have the opportunity to work with her. Would give six stars if I could :).
We hired Kylee when our son was around two. Truth be told, I had gotten into the habit of letting him come into bed with us (rookie mistake) and I never thought we’d be able to get him back into his own bed. After many frustrating nights where he was hysterical if he wasn’t sleeping with us, we were desperate. My husband sent me Kylee’s information & I read the reviews calling her “a miracle worker.” I was skeptical there was hope, but willing to give it a try. Her reviews were well deserved. Kylee met all of our expectations and more. To this day, our son who is now 3 1/2 follows the same routine and sleeps 11 hours through the night plus a 2 hour nap during the day. Needless to say, this also improves his behavior. Don’t hesitate to contact Kylee, you won’t regret it!
Kylee is just phenomenal. She helped our 5.5 month old sleep through the night and he went from waking up every 2 hrs to 12 hrs of sleep in absolutely no time. I am writing this review after being able to sleep so well for the past 2 months (7.5 month old lo). She is a life saver and I certainly didnt expect such a drastic change as I had read all the sleep training books in the market. She is also such a delight to work with and has supported our family so much.
My only regret is not using Kylee sooner. After trying to sleep train our 10 month old on our own multiple times we needed someone that could give us a plan based on getting to know our baby, keep us consistent and be there for us when we had our doubts and questions. Kylee did just that. The whole family is happier and sleeping. Thank you Kylee!!
This is a cross-post of what I shared with my family and friends on Facebook — My wife and I can’t say enough wonderful things about Kylee and her program — Read our full review below:“This is a long post so strap in (especially my friends who are new/expecting parents)Many of our friends and family know that Vincenzo had been struggling (big time) with sleep; Often sleeping for only 30-45 minutes at a time causing Lindsay to go in throughout the night to feed and rock him back to sleep only for the cycle to repeat; Nap time was never productive either. For anyone, this is unsustainable, but when you take two parents who work full-time jobs like we do, it’s down right impossible. For the past 30-Days Kylee Sallak, professional child sleep and behavior expert and owner of “Parenting Made Joyful” has been with Lindsay and I to help us get Vincenzo on a schedule and help identify why he was struggling to sleep and creating a plan for how to fix it.We started off cautiously optimistic, hoping that we didn’t just end up with a thick packet of academic information to read, or general tips-and-tricks — We felt like we had already exhausted these during our own attempts to solve this problemFrom night 1 through night 30, Kylee was with us *almost* 24/7 — Often remoting in to the video monitor during bed-times and nap-times, identifying behavior cues and offering advice which was pragmatic and related to Vincenzos response to the sleep training program that she created specifically for him.Within the first two days Vincenzo slept through the night for the perhaps the 3rd time ever... Since then, we haven’t looked back. He’s gotten 11-12 hours of uninterrupted restorative sleep every night, and has taken well to his daily naps. Lindsay and I feel confident knowing that Vincenzo is well rested and growing strong during these critical formidable months — And finally feel like we have some semblance of a life back.Last night was our last night with Kylee on call, so we would love to publicly thank her for everything she has done to help our family (We feel like she’s been a part of it!) by sharing our story with you.My only regret is not working with Kylee sooner — If you’re struggling like we were don’t make the same mistak we did — Reach out sooner!”
Kylee is amazing! She is a wealth of knowledge about children and has been such an amazing resource to us. We feel so lucky to have been able to work with her. She is so down to earth, tells it like it is, and makes the hardest parts of parenting feel way less overwhelming. We adore her and will forever sing her praises!
Kylee changed our lives! Her guidance during the newborn phase was very reassuring those first few weeks. By following her steps for safe sleep and soothing practices I was able to care for my newborn without losing my mind. Later on when the first sleep regression hit, I enlisted her help again to sleep train my baby. Everything I had tried before she came into the picture had failed to keep my baby asleep for longer than an hour at a time at night- and before that my baby really was sleeping so well! Night sleep didn’t take long to fix and after the very first night - my little guy slept 10.5 hours straight. After mastering night sleep my baby learned how to nap on his own too and since then there’s no looking back. We have a very healthy, happy and reliable sleep routine! I learned so much about being a parent with Kylee’s help and the experience was also a profound one because through the process of sleep training my baby she helped me find my voice as a new mom and gave me confidence. I can not recommend her enough! Kylee’s methods are evidence backed, she is professional and approachable and oh her coaching works!
Kylee was excellent. We hired her to assist with sleep training our then 4 month old daughter. She provided a wealth of invaluable tips and advice and was very responsive to our questions throughout the process. She was extremely generous with her time. Our daughter now sleeps about 12 hours a night. Hiring Kylee was without a doubt a great decision. The cherry on top of the cake was that she was down to earth, to the point, and very easy to work with.
My daughter was a great sleeper up until a few months ago. We moved to a new house at the same time she stopped wanting her second nap and at the same time she got the flu really bad. So all her good sleep habits fell apart and my boyfriend and I couldnt agree on or figure out how to fix it. Kylee not only nap trained our daughter and got her back into the habit of sleeping nicely in her crib for naps, she is also teaching us (currently) how to manage her tantrums, which are ridiculously dramatic. It finally feels like things are calm and manageable again. Besides the support I get from her, the membership videos are fun and make it easy to use with my LO. Highly recommend!
Kylee saved our sanity during our first year of parenthood! She is wonderful! She brought levity, practical and research backed wisdom, compassion, and consistently generous support to trying times. Beyond getting us through a sleep crisis, she armed us with a beginning parenting philosophy that honors baby and parent, and we are so grateful.
Working with Kylee was incredible. She kept me and my wife calm when we were nervous in the first couple of days and was very easy to communicate with when we had questions through the process. Our son was sleeping through the night by night 2, and his naps straightened out by day 4. By the time we were on day 5 he was completely sleep trained and has been a great sleeper since!
Kylee has helped my family so much. She saved my sanity. Kylee came and gave us structure and routine. We didn’t know what we were missing.DESPERATE: (being 6 months pregnant with an 18 month old toddler who slept with me at 3am-7am every day), I started searching online and found Kylee. I am so thankful for Kylee. My husband, mother-in law, and nanny were all skeptical at first and couldn’t take the idea of the baby crying during training. My husband especially was not on board at first. It’s really important that all caretakers are on the same page to make this process go efficiently. We had some obstacles and set backs (hubby) but Kylee was there every step of the way to help us. Now, my husband appreciates and recognizes the many benefits of having a well-rested child and family. My daughter (age 2 now), requests to go to sleep for naps and night sleep! Can you imagine?! This was shortly after she “graduated” from sleep training. She is a happier kid with more sleep and needless to say Mommy and Daddy are super happy too.We recently welcomed our son home. Second time around, I was not going to waste any time in getting my nights back. Tonight is night 2 of sleep training my 3 month old son. I am so excited! Giddy! (at 3 months you can have your precious baby sleeping through the night!) There’s hope at the end of the tunnel guys! Let Kylee be your guide. You will not regret it. This has been THE BEST investment for my family.Kylee is professional and keeps it real. She gets to the point and puts you at ease and empowers you as a parent with the knowledge and tools to navigate life with your kid. No judgments. Just tried and true methods on resolving baby and kid issues/challenges – giving you your life and some time back! Priceless.Thank you so much Kylee! Now she offers remote services to help families all over, not just NY/NJ.I am recommending her to everyone! Even people who don’t even have kids yet. ☺ Kylee truly helps make parenting joyful. A well rested kid = happier family.
My wife and I are members of the PMJ membership site now, but before we joined we were just curious about the free class she offers. Seemed like she had something we needed, so we signed up. That free class was THE BEST hour we spent as parents! The 3 tools she teaches are so insightful, so natural when you start using them and made such a huge difference for us, even before we ended up joining the PMJ community. Just the free tools alone were enough to make our family feel calm and make us feel like we know what we are doing. Amazing class, I would actually do it over again just to brush up on the skills.
Sleep training...is it worth it? Yes!!! We used Kylee and we were anxious about the whole process and the cost and contemplated but now that we did it I have to say it was a much better experience than we thought it would be and that is due to Kylee. She is beyond accessible, knowledgeable and is a consummate professional. (She is also playful and a lot of fun so it’s really the best of all worlds.) What she does so incredibly is empowers you to have the confidence that you can do the process and that in the end it is the best thing for the baby and the parents. There is a schedule that is predicable and healthy for the baby. As a result everyone gets well needed sleep and is able to function at their maximum capacity very soon after beginning. It takes approx 2-3 to get past the hard part so stick with it! It was worth every single penny and I would 100 percent do it again for another baby. If you have any reservations I would say stop questioning and just do it because you could already be sleeping beautiful now. Happy to answer any questions and so happy to whole heartedly recommend Kylee.
The best parenting decision we’ve made was asking Kylee to sleep train our then-4 month old (our second kid). We were on the fence about using Kylee’s services because (we thought) our baby slept pretty well and was an easier kid overall than our first. We are so glad we pulled the trigger! With Kylee’s help, our baby went from (1) waking up once to feed in the middle of the night, unpredictable and stressful short naps and being fed to sleep to (2) sleeping 12 hours through the night, 4 predictable on-schedule solid naps every day and falling asleep on his own without crying—we literally just put him down in his crib and leave the room and he silently goes to sleep! I track all his sleep and after Kylee’s sleep training, he slept a total of 3 hours more every day. He’s now 7 months old and continues to be an awesome sleeper and we have not had any sleep regressions (even when sick) because of everything we learned from Kylee. Kylee also helped us with our 2 year old’s sleep (bringing back naps after months of dropping them), behavior and eating. Kylee really knows (and loves) what she’s doing and is an absolute pleasure to work with. We are a much happier, more relaxed and well rested family because of Kylee and could not recommend her more.
The experience with Kylee was priceless and you cannot wait another minute going through your issue if Kylee exists! We were struggling with sleep retraining at 20 months, and I personally lost hope in getting my life, my sleep, and my family’s happiness back. After training my daughter to sleep through the night at 3 months, I thought I could read/watch and practice what I learned, but nothing worked for more than 2 months. We needed a professional and Kylee was beyond all our expectations. Not only things went back on track, we are now prepared to make educated decisions, all thanks to Kylee! My daughter herself was in sleep debt and only Kylee could fix it. You need to hire Kylee not just for sleep, but also to get educated on child’s behavior - she knows everything (she even supported us through nanny issues)! She is an awesome person and a true professional and you will wish you knew her when your child was first born!
Kylee’s knowledge of “all things Toddler” is unparalleled. Her online videos are straightforward and impactful but funny and totally relatable. She is incredibly responsive and invested in her clients - no text or frantic phone call goes unanswered. I feel lucky to have her as a resource to turn to, and most importantly to learn from, amongst the wild ups and downs of raising a toddler!
Kylees support for her customers is unmatched. She is a true advocate and helps parents and newborns somewhat seamlessly adjust to sleep schedules. Love her!
There are not enough words to describe how thankful we are for Kylee. From the moment we spoke on the phone for the consultation, we knew that she she was the perfect person to help us sleep and nap train our 3 1/2 month old son. Our son refused to nap in the crib and that eventually transferred to not sleeping in the crib at night. Kylee knew exactly what needed to be done to fix our son’s sleep problems. She thoroughly went over the plan and made sure we understood exactly what we needed to do before implementing. I love that Kylee was always available to answer all of our questions. What stood out to us was that she watched the naps. We no longer had to worry and our anxiety went away. We would not have been able to do this without Kylee’s guidance and support. She made the whole sleep training process enjoyable. Not only is our son a happier baby, but we are happier parents. We are sleeping and we have our lives back. She is an expert and is full knowledge that goes above and beyond just sleep training. We will use her over and over again because she has made such a positive impact in our lives. We tell all of our family members and friends that we would not have been able to do this without her. She is worth every penny!!!
Kylee offered us some great advice when our daughter was first borned. We really appreciated her passion for ensuring that both baby and parents have healthy normal sleeping habits. We also appreciated that while she offered advice, she was also very understanding of where our comfort level was in regards to sleep training!
Kylee changed out life!!! After not sleeping for 9 month we realized that we are doing something wrong. Our baby had just 1 nap during the day and her night sleep was full of crying, fussing and not being able to go back to sleep. Then we introduced co-sleeping but it did not really improve anything. At that point we agreed that we need professional help. Kylee was highly recommended to us by husband’s coworker. After doing additional research we picked Kylee. She was very knowledgeable, supportive and was there for us during the entire process. Surprisingly our baby did not cry much during sleep training and she just loved the new schedule and new life full of sleep and smiles. We are delighted with the result!! Our baby loves to sleep now and if before “sleeping through the night” was an unachievable dream not it is an everyday reality.
I found Kylee after a desperate internet search at 2 am. My 3.5 month old had just learned how to roll over and was spending all night practicing his new skills. He was getting max 2 hour stretches of sleep at a time. I dont need to tell you how exhausted I was. Kylee called me back within a few hours of submitting the online questionnaire. She asked all of the right questions and immediately gave me hope that I could sleep again soon with her help. However, I didnt book her right away because thought that things would get better on their own. They didnt! Dont make my mistake! She came to our home and I could tell right away that she was legit! She made us feel at ease and ready to trust her process with our son. And miraculously, he slept 12 hours the first night!! It hasnt always been that easy, but Kylee has always been available to guide us. She is our new best friend!!!This has been one of the best decisions I made as a parent. Knowing what I know now, I would have paid double for her expertise. She is truely a miracle worker. My son is a happier kid now that he is sleeping and we are better parents.
The Parenting Made Joyful website offers thoughtful, informative and life-changing content on major parenting issues, delivered so personably, in such a judgement-free, warm and reassuring way that it feels like a face-to-face conversation. Kylee offers several webinars, which are short, to-the-point and they help lay the foundation for a workable approach on sleep training and behavior modification. I find myself constantly returning to certain clips and watching them over and over - Kylee is a master wizard when it comes to the sleep and behavioral techniques of babies and kids and her videos have become almost gospel to me. When I signed into the site for the first time, it felt like I had happened upon a parenting goldmine. Having full access to a network of people working on the same issues I am, and using the same techniques has lent me support and connection in what can feel like a very isolating journey. My baby is starting to sleep through the night. Consistently. My five year old and I have gone from yelling and tantrums to fair communication and choices. Kylee/Parenting Made Joyful has literally changed the way I parent, and I don’t feel helpless or rudderless any longer. I feel like I have an ace in my pocket and I’m truly glad I became a member of this forum. Would recommend to anyone who is named “Mom” or “Dad.”
Sleep Training is a loaded phrase, and my husband and I were skeptical but needed to make a change in our daughters sleep routine. The approaches we had previously tried on our own didnt work so we decided to give New York Sleep Coach a try - thank goodness.I cant speak highly enough of our time with Kylee. She worked us into her schedule last minute and was so easy to communicate with; shes definitely a natural teacher and Baby Whisperer. Her style is grounded in science, practical, and no-nonsense without sacrificing love and compassion.I will admit, there were times when we werent sure this would work for our child, but by Day 5, our baby was sleeping through the night and napping like a champ! We already see a vast difference in her mood. This was not an easy choice to make, but I am so thrilled with our experience and would recommend Kylees attentive approach over any of the other methods we researched during this process. Dont think twice! Youll be so relieved and satisfied you said YES to New York Sleep Coach.
Kylee is the absolute best sleep coach in town. Working with Kylee has been a pleasure and I can finally sleep again! She is smart, informative, and most importantly, gets the job done. Highly recommended to anyone who wants to learn and most importantly get their precious sleep back
I am so grateful I heard about Kylee from a friend. I was 5 months into my second pregnancy and my husband and I were so exhausted every day that we werent sure how we were going to manage adding another baby to the sleep (lack of sleep) schedule in our home. I had never even heard of a sleep coach before, but we needed the help.Kylee stayed with us for 2 days and nights and made changes in our schedules and habits we never would have known to make. Little changes that made a huge difference, and bigger changes that were hard initially, but she was with us every step of the way! I couldnt believe how natural she was with our daughter and how quickly our daughter adapted.I now have a well-rested, happy 2-year old who sleeps through the night, and who naps like I never thought she was capable of. I just thought I had a high energy baby. I thought the tantrums were because of her age! Turns out I just had an over-tired baby. My husband and I are walking away from this feeling informed, empowered and equipped to handle her future sleep needs. I am so glad we found her before baby number 2 (a girl!) got here!
Kylee coached our twins how to sleep through the night when they were 2 1/2 years old. Having twins we never had a good nights rest. They would take turns coming into our room and keep us awake all night. The constant turning and rolling in our bed made it impossible to sleep especially with not two but four little feet in our face and kicking us in our sides. Kylee came into our life and since her first visit with our family their beds have been where they sleep every night. Its amazing!!!! We sleep so well its like a whole new world! Shes the absolute best! A true lifesaver.
Since I have started using the PMJ membership site resources and following the FB group, I have seen incredible results...almost instantly! As a first-time parent I found myself constantly wondering if I was being too hard or too soft on my toddler. I always try to make sure that I am doing everything possible to help him succeed and thrive in life, but I was getting so overwhelmed with so many opinions, new phases in his development, and feeling like I didn’t have all the right tools. Before PMJ, my toddler had entered a phase where I felt like he was testing me, and I was desperate for help. That is when I came across a free PMJ webinar on FB and signed up. The webinar was very relatable, easy to comprehend, and straight to the point. Kylee is so down to earth and tells it like it is! After the webinar, I got in touch with Kylee and scheduled a phone call. Needless to say, this was a turning point in my parenting style. I feel like I am really connecting with my son and we have built an even stronger bond. PMJ has given me the ability to feel more confident in my parenting. I am so grateful for Kylee; she is such an amazing resource. She really knows her stuff, and takes the time to genuinely connect with you. And she pretty much has tools and resources on every area of development!
If I could give more stars, I would! The self guided video lessons have completely changed the way we parent. Kylee has a way of teaching that is both entertaining and educational which my partner and I both found refreshing given the fact that we have a dozen half-read (boring) parenting books. We use her scripts and her tools all day every day and my 3 year olds behavior has done a total 180. Our phones had basically become her personal tv otherwise she would scream and cry and we almost considered getting her her own tablet so we could have our phones back! We were down to about 4 foods she was willing to eat without throwing a fit, she had managed to push bedtime so far off track we had no time left in the evebnings for ourselves and thats just to start! These video lessons made me feel really confident and given me patience with my daughter I didnt have before. And my daughter has responded so well to these changes, which I was afraid wouldnt happen. I thought she would hate me! Thankfully, her behavior dramatically improved and her bond with me is exactly as it was, which was my biggest fear when I started. DO NOT HESITATE to enroll in the membership site! It feels like you know Kylee in these videos too because she does live Q&A in the private FB group. So helpful!
If your babys (lack of) sleep is a major priority to you and you dont want to mess around trying to figure it out on your own, hire Kylee! Youre essentially paying her to coach you, not the baby, so be willing to put in the work...it is worth it.
I have been working with Kylee as a parenting coach for several years now. We started working with her as a sleep coach during a tough period for our daughter (and us!) and we moved into working with her on our parenting dynamic where she’s provided step by step guidance that showed immediate results with better behavior and a better relationship with my daughter. Her advice and tools continue to work to this day and we work with Kylee as my daughter moves into different developmental stages.I cant speak highly enough of Kylee and the tools she’s given us. We are closer than ever to our daughter and feeling more confident than we ever knew possible as parents.
Kylee gave us our life back, we cannot thank her enough! We approached Kylee for help after spending months on the floor of our three-year-olds room every night, because she refused to fall asleep without us nearby or stay in her crib all night (after sleeping beautifully for years since we initially trained her at five months). Kylee put together a comprehensive plan, thoroughly prepped us and ensured we understood what was happening, then guided us through the entire process from start to finish. Our daughter was sleeping through the night, by herself, after the first night (results not typical but it worked for us!). She then supports you through all the bumps and questions along the way, until you feel secure that you can handle any future issues. More than anything, I believe because shes a behavioral specialist, shes always looking at the big picture and offering help and advice that goes beyond just sleep. Its an empowering experience for every parent. Seriously hiring her was the best decision ever. Thank you Kylee!
Working with Kylee has been nothing short of life changing in our home. We were dealing with melt downs, ever increasing demands and being on the losing end of non-stop negotiating from our 2.5 and 5 year old. My husband and I were both too exhausted to think clearly about how to untangle the mess we were in. I heard about Kylee on a playdate from another mom who loved her. Knock on wood we can keep up the tools she gave us because the difference is like night and day, for us and for our kids. They are happier, calmer, we are not yelling at them and feeling defeated. It is just incredible what she was able to do in such a short time.
Sleep training is something my husband and I were very agianst for our first child. We were full on AP parents with our first. The idea of sleep training simply was never an option in our minds. With our second baby (now 8 months), we decided for our own sanity we needed to get them both sleeping in their own rooms and sleeping through the night. Kylee took the time to get to know my family, asked questions to make sure we were feeling safe and informed every step of the way. Very surprisingly, both of our children took to her sleep program pretty quickly with some cringe-worthy bumps in the road as they got used to their new reality, but it was all worth it for our family to be getting enough sleep. I wish we had done this 2 years ago!
Kylee came to work with us when my son was 6 months old. To this day we keep asking ourselves why didnt we meet her sooner. She truly is a parent coach and really cares about the kids she works with. Our son suffered from teething and a two viruses 3 days into the training process, and Kylee was with us all the way giving us guidance and motivation. Moreover, were entertaining the idea of another kid thanks to her. Seriously, parenting is not bad once you and your kid are sleeping through the night -- which has been our case for the past 3 months.I read all the books and blogs, let both grandmas try to get him to sleep, but we wholeheartedly couldnt have done it without Kylee.Stop worrying about how much it costs -- youll save money buying less coffee to stay awake and wine to numb your soul.
My wife and I had an incredible experience with Kylee as our sons sleep coach. Our nights are ours again, and our son is getting the sleep he needs and we have both noticed the shift in his mood! Thank you Kylee for being there every step of the way as we got him on this new schedule!
We are going on Night 4! 7pm to 7am! Its getting even better too, he wakes up still but doesnt cry anymore, he soothes himself back to sleep. It was hard, I couldnt bare to let him cry it out but, Kylee helped us distinguish his cries and once we realized he wasnt in pain, hungry or sad, just mad that he didnt get his own way, i was able to let him work it out for himself.I cannot believe how quick a baby picks up on a new routine if it is consistent.... literally 3/4 days. I am so proud of him at 5.5 months to be able to sleep through the night. Nap times used to be all over the place and now i can plan according to his schedule and its much easier. He has a good 2hr nap in the morning which is always the same and his afternoon naps are shorter and a little more unpredictable as he might be with me at work, and a friends or his grandmas. So he has between 1-1.5hrs. He is happier, we are happier! We have our evenings again! After a day of playing, its nice to be able to relax knowing that he is getting some well needed sleep! Its also great to not be falling asleep some days when we are looking after him. We are energized and present!Thank You Kylee for being so supportive and always being available when we needed you! Even though we are in another state we felt very connected and close to you. Everyday for the last 4 days we have said to one another how glad we are that we did this!
I am a functioning happy mom because of Kylee! She is truly professional, sincere, and caring. She helped us with our 4 months old at the time who was up every 2 hours! Since then our baby has been sleeping for 12 hours every night! Kylee worked closely with us through the whole process and when I say closely I mean she responded to every text and call promptly even when she was at her dinner date! She was supportive of parents and provided us with solid research and information that helped us feel comfortable with the whole process. Even after the training is finished, she stays in touch and continues to provide comfort and advice whenever we need. I consider Kylee a true friend and her wisdoms have helped me to become a stronger and more confident mom. It is the best thing we have done for our baby and definitely for us. We all learned valuable skills and would stay with us for the rest of our lives. I cant thank her enough.
Babies dont come with instruction manuals (they should). Nor do toddlers. So, what does a tired, clueless parent do when the baby wont sleep or the toddler wont stop throwing food or tantruming? Call Kylee Sallak, of Back to Basics Parenting.I called Kylee in desperation when my twin daughters were transitioning from crib to bed but did not find sleeping in their new big girl beds as interesting as sleeping on the living room sofa or moms bed or the hallway (you get the idea). It was a disaster for all of us. Within two weeks, Kylee helped me get my daughters to go to, and stay in, their beds - no small feat considering she was working with two toddlers who are partners in crime. Next, she tackled their questionable table manners and other undesirable behaviors; again, she quickly changed my wiley little rascals into well-behaved, sweet little girls. In short, Kylee is the instruction manual you didnt know you needed when you first looked into those sweet eyes of your darling newborn baby. Kylees advice has helped me address the toughest challenges Ive faced in raising my daughters and her advice has been spot on every time. Not only is her advice exactly what you need in the situation, shes also funny; her humor saved me when I was operating on little sleep and not much patience. Oh, and not only has she helped me in person, shes available 24/7 (I dont think she ever sleeps) via text or email. If youre looking for help with any type of behavior issue your baby or toddler is trying out (biting, throwing food, not sleeping, etc), I highly recommend you talk to, and then hire, Kylee.
Here’s the TLDR version: if you’re having issues with your baby/toddler sleeping and aren’t sure if you should or need Kylee’s help, set up the appointment to chat with her RIGHT NOW. You won’t regret it.I was having a very tough time with my toddler concerning his sleep for both his amount of sleep daily and transitioning him from 2 naps to 1. I had read both the Ferber and Weissbluth books as well as countless sleep websites and I was sure I was doing everything that I was supposed to do to help him sleep more and couldn’t figure out what was “wrong”. Add to that my husband who didn’t have the concerns that I did, so I felt not only stressed but alone! One call with Kylee and I was already feeling better and not crazy. She has a great demeanor, was easy to talk to, and gave me no BS. Kylee’s the kind of person you knew that you would want as a friend if you could be so lucky! Following that initial consult, Kylee continued to be amazing, going above and beyond to do whatever she could to help me and gave me all the support I needed. Transitioning my son to one nap has been a rough few months, but having Kylee absolutely made the difference and I would reach out to her again if I needed her and would absolutely recommend to EVERYONE to get in touch with Kylee if you need parenting help!
We reached out to Kylee after a year of trying to get our 3-year old daughter to sleep in her own bed. She had been sleeping directly on the hardwood floor by her bedroom door, refusing any blankets or pillows, and constantly waking up throughout the night whenever she heard us walking by her room. She was chronically tired and cranky, and, in turn, we and her little sister were also tired and cranky. Nothing we tried worked. Finally, we reached out to Kylee for a consultation. I loved that she first took the time to understand our situation in detail, asking a series of questions to determine whether she could help. Other sleep coaches would have charged for this consultation, but not Kylee. After learning about our situation, Kylee came to stay with us for 24 hours, helping us not only with our daughters sleep issues, but with overall behavior and tantrum issues. Its hard to let a stranger discipline your child, and Kylee takes that very seriously. We felt completely comfortable having her not only as our coach, but as a house guest. Our daughters adored her and still ask to speak with her. And we are so thrilled that ever since Kylee came to stay with us that one time, our daughter has been happily sleeping in her bed. We are all getting much more sleep, and most importantly, our daughter is happier and more playful. I cannot recommend Kylee enough! It was an absolute pleasure to learn from her.
Kylee was incredible with our son. We had failed miserably with all of the DIY methods. Kylee came with a great approach, patience, love, and respect for our thoughts and we got our son to finally sleep 12 hours straight at night (I thought it was impossible) and 3 great naps during the day. We couldnt have done it without you!Camila & David
The idea of having a coach for sleeping still makes me laugh, but this is actually something I think more parents need in their lives. My husband and I both have demanding jobs and our nanny, lovely as she is, wasnt able to get our little guy on a good sleep schedule any better than we were. The time we do get to spend with our son is precious and I felt guilty trying to sleep train him (before Kylee) because he would cry and I figured it wasnt worth it, so I stopped trying. His sleep was so out of wack that either my husband or myself would have to sleep in his room to get him to sleep. We didnt want to bring him into OUR bed because we wanted him to learn to sleep in his own room, but instead, we accidentally taught him he cant sleep unless we are in HIS bed!Kylee changed that immediately! She has an easy, comforting way about her, and it felt like having a friend stay with us for those 3 nights. She was considerate of our familys situation and included our nanny in the education. We all took notes and she sent us additional information via email to refer to after she left. When she did leave and Theo was set on the new schedule, we didnt feel like she left us in the dark. My husband and I and our nanny all feel like we are on the same team, which is what Theo needs. He is sleeping so well (actually sleeping soundly as I type!) and I can see the difference in his overall demeanor. Fantastic experience all the way through!
I reached out to Kylee about 3 weeks ago as my 10 month old daughter started to taking 20/30 mins naps, which was a new thing because she usually able to nap 40-1 hour. I was frustrated as my mom was taking care of her and she literally got no BREAK with this new nap schedule. Out of desperation, I called Kylee, she was super honest and recommended virtually nap training package since my daughter’s night sleep hasn’t breakdown yet. She recommended some steps to follow and was available at each nap session. She was so patient and helpful, especially the first few days. I was sitting in the living room texting her out tears/frustrations while my daughter was crying/screaming in the bedroom. There were so many times I just want to give in but Kylee was so supportive and patiently reasoned with me that this is only temporary and try to look at the bigger picture. This training will eventually be beneficial to my daughter long term. As skeptical I was sometimes,I believe the training was a success. Kylee taught me a lot about baby sleeping, I am definitely analytic person (I work in banking). She taught me not all babies are going to sleep 3 hours daytime sleep, at first, that’s what I thought training was, 3 hours or nothing, instead some babies like my daughter is only capable of sleeping 2-2.5 hours day time and she will still be fine. The training also taught my daughter to be calm in the crib, she no longer cry bloody murder after awake. She can be alone and independently resting until we get her.. I can’t say more good thing about Kylee, she absolutely have a patience of a sane and her method really worked. Through this process, I think I learned a lot about parenting myself, such as babies are independent beings and they are smart but consistence training is key. If you looking to not only sleep train your baby but give the opportunity to your baby to achieve their capabilities, HIRE KYLEE, she will help you through each step.
Kylee is so good, she can solve my kids issues from another state!! She agreed to help us here in Oregon with my now 2.5 year old and has been instrumental in helping me be the best mom I can be.Sleep training is our focus. She started helping us when my kid was 8 months old using the Ferber method. It worked like a charm! Then, as we know, things can change... So Kylee helped me adapt my daughter’s sleep training with what was going to work for all of us in the moment. She’s given us some great tools for success and thank goodness because this Mama was about to freak out if I didn’t start getting some regular sleep. She is always available to me whether it’s on the phone, over FaceTime or a quick text.Thank you Kylee! I would recommend her ALL DAY LONG!
Kylee was absolutely fantastic! She help us with our 11 month old twins and they have been sleeping like champs after about a week. Our son took a bit longer and Kylee was there with us until he was fully sleep trained. We could not have done this without Kylees help and reassurance. I regret not doing it sooner!
Before I tell you how wonderful Kylee is, and how drastically she turned everything around for us, you have to know what it was like before we found her. We had a 3 year old who was coming into our bed in the middle of the night, and an 8 month old who was sleeping (not well) in our room. The 2 kids would wake each other up with their varying needs during the night, and my husband and I would wake up in different rooms/beds with different kids and no one was getting any sleep. It was an 8 month long nightmare of stress, screaming, crying, crankiness, and complete sleep deprivation. We had sleep trained our first son using the Ferber method, but it seemed to make everything worse with our 2nd son. We tried 3 different rounds on our own until we gave up and decided to seek professional help.I found Kylee on a google search, along with a few other companies. After speaking with 2 companies on the phone, I decided to go with Kylee. Her price was more reasonable, but I also got a better feeling from her - she was upfront - this will be hard, itll take some time, but we can do it. She really took the time to listen to what was going on with both children and the parents, too. I didnt feel like she was over promising or trying to sell me on a longer package than I needed. We ended up with the 48 hour package. Kylee came around 6pm on a Tuesday and stayed until Thursday morning. She then came back on Saturday night for the last 12 hour shift. In these 3 nights, she got our 8 month old sleeping through the night, and naps on healthy and predictable schedule. She also got our 3 year old sleeping in his own bed all night, plus cut down on the stalling tactics he was pulling at bed time. The sleeping in itself is worth her price. But in addition to that, I learned so many wonderful toddler management tactics from her. My 3 year old didnt adjust very well to the arrival of his little brother and since Kylee stayed with us, the problem behaviors (whining, defiance, not listening) have greatly diminished. I am not exaggerating when I say she completely turned my life around. I am a stay at home mom, and a situation that was previously unbearable is largely pleasant nowadays. I seriously owe my sanity and rest all to her and I am SO grateful! Thank you, Kylee!!
Kylee is AMAZING. I typically do not take time to write reviews (what parent can spare time to do so!), but Kylee is deserving of this time. Before Kylee even entered our home to support us through sleep training our 5 month old daughter, she was responsive to all of our questions and concerns. She made us feel completely comfortable and honestly astounded us with the breadth of her knowledge - not just about infant and child sleep, but also many other aspects of parenting for which one has to make choices and decisions. Kylee is warm, practical, and provided fantastic insights into our daughters sleep cues, natural cadence, and established a wonderful sleep foundation for our family. I would (and have already) recommend her to any of my friends. Even if you think sleep training is not for your kid Kylee will change your mind.
My husband and I, having just become first time parents, were certain we wanted to instill healthy sleep for our baby but were not sure of how to accomplish that with our 3 month old. Kylee came to us as a recommendation, and we read up on her style and decided to do her virtual package being as we are in Florida. By the time our little guy was old enough to sleep train, we were both running on 3 months of very poor sleep and were more than ready for him to learn to sleep through the night. We expected a written guide or an e-book or something but instead Kylee gave us daily real time support that was for us, for our family, not just some prewritten guide. She was accessible, supportive and even answered questions about feedings and naps. By the 3rd or 4th night on her program our little one was sleeping through the night and we have since been able to get the sleep we need too! We will definitely be sending our new Daddy friends to New York Sleep Coach!
My husband and I had our first child and lucked out with a great sleeper. She was an easy baby and we never considered sleep training because it just wasnt something we had issues with. Our second child was a completely different story! He slept like a typical newborn in the beginning but the 3-7 month range became really difficult. Neither of us were getting sleep, I was up every 2 hours nursing and he became impossible to get to sleep with my husband because he only slept if I nursed him first. Naps werent any easier. Some days hed only sleep 30-45 minutes per nap, and the timing was never predictable. I was back to work and our lack of sleep habits were not working with such a full schedule. We heard about New York Sleep Coach through a friend who went to Kylee for her 15 month old. We worked with her from a distance (Portland to NYC) and she stayed in close touch with us the whole 7 days, walking us through each step of the program. The thing my husband and I both loved most, was how she adjusted the program to fit our family, our son, our needs.I was a little worried it would be a cookie cutter program, and that our needs might not be met. But we were pleasantly surprised by how attentive and detail oriented she was. Our son, the rebellious child that he is, took a full 7 days to get on the HPHC sleep program (our friends baby got on by day 4!) but it was worth the wait! After 7 days on the HPHC sleep program, he is on 2 solid 1.5 hour naps, a morning and an afternoon, and sleeping through the night. When he does wake up, he actually falls back asleep on his own! He is far less cranky with solid sleep, and my husband and I are getting the sleep we need to be energized parents, and to be more present for each other. This is something I never thought we would need, but Im grateful we found!
Working with Kylee was a great experience. I learned about her and her sleep training services through a mutual friend on Facebook. I was 8 months pregnant with my first child and extremely nervous about my upcoming role as a new mom. My husband and I both work full time in a fairly new city to us. We have no local family support and can’t call for help during the day when we’ve had a bad night. I knew I would be taking 12 weeks of maternity leave and my goal was to have my son sleeping through the night by the time that I went back to work in hopes of my husband and I being able to function as both professionals and new parents! A tall order. I contacted Kylee and she agreed to work with me, in Florida, via email to get my son on a schedule from the beginning. She was extremely responsive and encouraging. She was able to give me tips and direction on a variety of items even outside of sleeping – i.e. swaddling, breastfeeding, play time, diapering, etc. I was extremely happy to have my son consistently sleeping (in his crib) through the night by the time that he was 12 weeks old! He is now 6 months old and our bedtime routine is something that I look forward to at the end of each day. He gets to sleep around 8:00pm and sleeps until around 6:30am…sometimes sleeping until 7:30am on the weekends. I have been able to return to work and that transition has been a lot easier than I thought it was going to be. The fact that our entire family is able to get a good night’s sleep every night has been paramount to our success as a family! We are a happy, healthy and well-rested threesome. Thank you, New York Sleep Coach! 😊
Kylee Sallak who not only conquered our intractable 9 month sleep nightmare with our 3-year old but also recently got our two boys (almost 4 and 2) in the same room and has become our go-to parenting expert. We were very reluctant to try any sleep consultant, as I will explain, but Kylee’s approach resonated resoundingly with us and has changed our lives. The short story is that Kylee immediately diagnosed the our 3 year old’s problem as “behavioral” and spent 3 full days with our son undoing his behavior by empowering him to help himself at night. She did so by establishing firm boundaries with him in an environment of engaging play and attention basically 12 hours a day for 3 days – she expected quite a bit of him at night but whereas those expectations would have seemed too much for him before, they were totally achievable given that she spent nearly 36 hours empowering him and teaching him and he was excited to deliver them. The two other things we loved about her: a) her approach of firm boundaries while engaging and respecting the child has transformed our child’s daytime behavior and b) she was honest upfront that this would not be a magic 3 day solve but a 2-ish week one but that we could handle the days beyond her package ourselves – she trained us to and we did.The long story: Immediately upon transitioning to his toddler bed at almost 3, our son starting coming to our bedroom multiple times in the middle of the night asking for us to fix his covers or find his lovely. We tried so many things upon recs from others – magnesium, occupational therapy, nightlight, etc. – but nothing worked. At various points during this saga, I called many sleep consultants, almost all of whom suggested gating him in his room to constrain him, rather than teach him alternatives, which we were not willing to do.At the 9 month mark, in addition to wakefulness, our son also developed debilitating fears of animals. At this point, I found some sleep therapists who were not recommending gating but asked that I conquer the fear part before they worked with our son.As a working mom who was not sleeping at all and has another child, I could not conquer this. What I liked about Kylee was a) she did not believe in gating him b) she wanted to change his behavior intrinsically c) she assessed his fear and told us she could handle it (she was upfront that there was a chance she couldn’t address it) d) she told us how long it would take and d) watching her change his nighttime behavior transformed how we engaged with him during the day and has made parenting so much better.Even after all that – which true to her word took about 2 weeks – we doubted that anyone could put our two boys in the same room; they sleep at different times, have different sensitivities, etc. She did this in exactly 3 days.We cannot thank Kylee enough for helping us understand my son’s sleep challenge and empowering our family to address it by changing the root of our daytime interaction. She is phenomenal at what she does and at dealing with children, which made her sleep package a sleep + parenting packing because we learned so much from her.
Just wanted to say a big THANK YOU for all your help and support with Jaxon! I have always been apprehensive to commit to a sleep training program for our 12 month old. I knew we had bad sleep habits, but letting him cry it out was not something I was interested in.. We had nursing as a sleep association, along with multiple night wakings that eventually lead to co-sleeping in our bed till the morning. We didnt mind the co-sleeping, but knew we had to get the night wakings and nurse sessions under control.Thats where we decided to contact New York Sleep Coach. I found her through a friend that recently used her for her child. Kylee was such a pleasure to work with.We communicated via email mostly since she was in NY and we are in TX! Kylee was able to tailor her program to our familys schedule. After day 3, Jaxon was taking a 3 hour nap during the day and falling asleep on his own without nursing. On day 7, he slept his first 11 hour stretch! HOORAY! It felt so amazing for the whole family.Working with Kylee was such a pleasure, she was informative, supportive and tough when needed. Its always so hard to hear your baby crying it out, but Kylee stayed in constant contant and reassured me that this would be good for him and for our family in the long run. The first few nights were rough, but now he is sleeping like a champ!!
She’s a life saver!
Awesome
