Best exchange rate in the city, no fees, no third parties involved. QUICK AND EASY!!
The best exchange rates in the city so far, commission free, the service is always fast and professional!
Good rate, the guy is a really nice sport and very correct. He’s telling you to check the money before you go to avoid problems and he gives very good rates. You can compare the rates even with your bank (I did it with BofA and here was definitely better). Definitely worth a visit if you need cash exchanged
This place gave me the best rate out of a few places I contacted. Good service and reliable. I’ll definitely come back to this place.
Very happy with the exchange rate and my experience. I called ahead and confirmed the rate, and it was between 3-4% over the online rate. This is much cheaper than my local bank which was closer to 8 or 9% or other exchange shops which could be 10-15%. They also didnt charge an additional processing fee which is nice. Its a no frills place inside of a souvenir shop, but the exchange rate was great and thats why I was there.
Very fair exchange of Pakistani Rupee to dollar. Fast and courteous.
This is a great spot for currency exchange. Theyre fast, reliable, and always have the best, most fair rate I can find around. I recommend!
Great rate! I called 4 of the top rated in the area (AFEX and Currency Exchange International) and this place had (by far) a better exchange rate. No fees and they were very friendly.
If you need to exchange money, this is (hands down) the best place to go. Mr Omar and Mr Ibrahim are genuinely good people running an honest business. They have, by far, the most reasonable exchange rates. They deserve our business. You will not be disappointed.
I have come to this location many times. It is located inside a souvenir store but do not let deter you. I have converted currency into the currency from Japan, Costa Rica, Vietnam and Thailand. Each time the exchange rate was fair! Highly recommend.
The rates are good but the customer service is TERRIBLE. There was a young middle eastern (?) man assisting me and it was notorious that he wasn’t in mood for working. Guess what? If you can’t be professional don’t have a business then. I even told him I’ve found a recommendation about them in a great Brazilian blog - thinking he would be at least slightly excited - but he didn’t care at all. His bored/mad face didn’t change at all.
Best deal we founding all of NYC! The best rates and good discounts generally on the rest fo the small store for souvenirs. I will be making this my go to for all future travel and money exchange.
Best rates and kind staff. I dealt with a gentleman named Mr. Ibrahim. He was polite and easy to exchange with. If you want a little assurance of the rate, you can always call to confirm. Very honest people.
Dont under estimate this place, the rates are truly sufficient, way better than what other places are talking about even better than banks. The process was quick and easy and very fast. i needed Mexican peso for my trip with my companion and was truthfully happy with the money that i exchanged. Thank you Again.
First of all people who work here are very pleasant to deal with plus they give you the best rate in the city! Also if you exchanging larger amount of currency you can negotiate with them to get even better exchange rate.If its your first time going there, it is easy to miss this place! Make sure to look for small sign A&S exchange and the actual kiosk will be inside souvenir/retail mart store. I walked by it couple times before I noticed the small sign on top of souvenir store.
No one had Guatemalan Quetzal but this place! And it was an affordable exchange!! Very happy. Highly recommend.
This is a shady business. They posted on their website 1.27 exchange rate for Euro and at the location they only paid 1.23. Thank you very much, but Bank of America offered an honest 1.24 and it was much easier to find a location. That means a $40 difference for each 1,000 Euro, and it means a trip to this office for nothing (or for giving them a business they do not deserve).I dont really understand the rave reviews. An exchange office should be about good rates, zero commissions and honesty. This one lacks on all 3 fronts.
Such great guy! I walked around in search of Argentina Pesos and no other place had them available. I came to this location and they had $50 worth of peso at almost the market exchange rate of 17.49. I didnt need more! Very happy I came here, and much better than a Bank !
Best deal in town. There is no reason to go to anyone else in NYC. Sometimes there is a bit of a line but it is very much worth the few extra minutes to save a decent amount of $.
I have been here about six times over the past two years and always spoke to Abraham. The service and professionalism that he has is second to none. The rates are guaranteed to be better than anyone else that I have looked at. There are no hidden costs.I would definitely recommend them.
I am yet to find a place in NYC or nearby who offers better rate than A&S. Every time when I am traveling outside USA, I simply go to A&S and get the job done. Yes the feel of shop is not the greatest and you may get a feeling that this is not a authentic transaction etc. but all those worries are rest aside when you see a proper entry for transaction/printed record for your reference. They also check your identity before giving forex. Overall it deserves 5 stars for the rates they offer
Thank you omar for the yuan and yen swap today and for the great service!! All my family and friends know to see you when we travel anywhere internationally and I’m happy to have met you today. Your rates are great no need to go anywhere else to compare. After being ripped off by Chase and Citibank so many times I am glad I have finally found you!! Thank you again for the great rates. I will see you again when yen is 107 not 106:). I also saw a guy in front of me exchange his leftover euros for usd. Bring photo id if you exchange alot. Omar buys and sells currency at great rates!
Best rates. Fast and friendly service. I will definitely be back with all my currency exchange needs.
Great rate, and the people there is friendly. I appreciate the service there 🌟
I called three foreign currency exchanges. A&S had the best rate and did not charge an exchange fee. The exchange is not fancy, just an owner-operated booth inside of an electronics store. However, the exchange is professionally run and is well located.
Great experience! I was in New York as a tourist trying to find somewhere to change my GBP to USD. most banks would not change money unless you have an account and those places that would were way below the standard rate. Many banks that would not change my money recommended A&S which I also found here on Google. The only down side with A&S was that he wasnt there the first few times I dropped by. Although under no obligation to, he made up for the slight inconvenience by giving me a much better rate than advertised. This was great since his advertised rate was already better than all the other vendors I had called on.After changing my money we had a little chat and he told me how he was able to change money at much better rates. He has more than 20 years experience in the business so knows it very well. He started out working for a chain but since working for himself he is able to be more dynamic with his rates and give a more personal service since you are talking directly to the boss. There is no need for him to check with someone else when negotiating and you will never get a computer says no answer.
No frills, no fee exchange place. Rates seemed reasonable - $7.80 for Swedish Krona when google showed $7.93
I heard about this place through someone I went hiking with and she told me of a souvenir shop with an exchange window that had the best exchange rate. They even carried CUC when she visited but they didnt have any when I went so I switched to CAD instead.I received 1.12 CAD per dollar which is the actual exchange rate on Google (maybe minus a few hundredth decimals). I dont know how this guy profits but you should know Im not going anywhere else from now on. He does ask that if you have useless coins you have leftover from your travels to give to him but its not required obviously.
I’ve been going here for years, always fast and fair
Skip the banks. If you have money left over from a trip or you need some money before you go on one, this place has the best rates you can find. Hes a small-time forex dealer, ensconced inside of another shop, but I have not found anyone better to change currencies with.He doesnt accept coins, and sometimes he will be out of the shop on lunch break at which point youll have no choice but to wait.
Best rate and great service!! Don’t go to the banks anymore...
Great rate and the gentleman working was professional, helpful and had a good sense of humour. In and out within a few minutes- will return here.
Their rate is the best in town. Nothing to complain. You can check for yourself. (Munna)
I had some leftover Euros from a trip a while back and had no idea what to do with them. I stopped in at Travelex, who told me the Euro to USD conversion that they would give me was basically 1:1 with a $9.95 charge. That sounded crazy to me, so I called this place who told me they would do 1:1.13. I stopped in, thinking they would change it or charge a crazy fee, but it was just straight up 1 Euro for $1.13, with no charge on top of it. The current rate is 1:1.16, so that was a pretty good deal.If you need to exchange any type of currency, go here. Its definitely worth it compared to other shady places that rip you off.
Convenient and rates are far better than any of the banks. Limit to the amount they’ll convert at a given time but that’s to be expected of a smaller shop.
Best rates and great service!
This place is Ina secret little souvenir joint to the back. Asked first about the exchange rate and quickly punched numbers in his calculator. Is at 1.15 usd to euro. I exchanged 370 and got 320. Plus two bucks back. I went to the bank earlier this week and they charged me a lot more so I got less. Very happy with forexchange. I would recommend.
Nice place, a little hard to find because it is inside the souvenir shop. But they gave me a great rate buying Euros and had no fees.
The best by far - not even close. Best Rates, quick service - they blow everyone else in NYC out of the water with their rates.
I think this place has best conversion rate in new york. I shopped around 5-6 places. That includesbanks and forex places. Finally I realised that was waste of time. They are so straight that they post rates on web to let you compare with others and then come to them. No commission or any kind of fee.No hidden charges or taxes. Mr. Omar & Mr. Ibrahim handle handle small cubicle in a gift store. They were very polite and professional. My transaction was finished in just 5 minutes. I recommend anyone who needs to exchange currency just go to them blindly. You will be in right hands.V. Sunder
Great place. Exchanged Dollar to Euros and got the best deal after reviewing several other places, including banks.
Bets conversion rate (for yen) by far. Quick friendly service. Its inside another store so confused me a little, but all worked great.
I called within 1 hour of the closing time and I was shopping around for some Israeli currency. Either the big banks didnt have it or the local traders wanted 6-12% above the exchange rate. Nothing like that here. I got a very competitive rate.It wasnt hard to find as there is a banner on the tiny shop. The gentleman waited with 10 minutes to spare for me to go and withdraw cash and there were no extra fees, charges etc.For those complaining about his ID and SSN check - its all about govt. compliance. They dont want you exchanging large amounts of US cash and sending it to fund funny activities overseas or launder money. This operation is totally legit and I would do business here again.
Definitely the place to go. After going through some rigamarole at Penn Station and reviewing all of the rates to exchange USD to JPY — this place has the best rate by far and was no muss no fuss super efficient. Would absolutely recommend to anyone looking to exchange cash quickly.
Great service and rates and they always have the hard to find currencies that no one else has! I can not recommend this place enough.
I just went to exchange my money from Dollars to Euros. I just heard this place was great so I went. Its hard to find but its very close to the St. Francis of Assisi church on W. 32 between 6th and 7th Ave.I gave him $152.00 and I got back 115 Euros. Bing says it would have been exactly 117.74 euros. This sounds like a good deal to me :)
Very quick and friendly service by Omar behind the counter! They had good rates for Japanese Yen. Would recommend to exchange your currency here!
Easy to find (there is a big sign on the shop front. Very favourable rate for my Czech Koruna. Would recommend
Im not sure if perhaps the store owners had their son filling in for them, but the guy I spoke with was rude and lacked customer service skills. Because it was my first time and he was unwilling to answer my questions in a professional manner, I walked right out and went to a store down the street.
This exchange is located in a souvenir shop on the 7th, it does not look like a conventional exchange purpose it has the best exchange rate of new york, EUR / USD to 1.14 against 1.17 on the forex. This is unbeatable. The best exchange of new york.Above all do not get hurt by going to lose 20 to 30 percent in other offices.
EXCHANGE RATES ARE NOT UP TO DATE. I went to exchange US dollars for Moroccan Dirham. The current rate is .10 to every US dollar, A&S rate is .9 to every US dollar. When I informed the merchant his response was I dont know anything about that. I just showed you the rate on my phone, so what is it you dont know?I wouldnt get into a fuss if it wasnt a $15 dollars difference ( I exchanged $200 and got back $185. in Dirham), I am traveling on a budget. Granted they do not charge a service fee, I guess that cost must be hidden in their not up to date exchange rates. BUYER BEWARE.
Great experience, fast and a fair rate, dont go anywhere else
Seriously, the shop keeper is really friendly and the rates are great despite the shop being inside a souvenir shop. I would definitely go back there again.
Good exchange rate dor my euro and very friendly staff. Highly recommend this exchange shop
Fast. Easy. Pretty good rate. Dude was super cool. 5 stars
Always come to this location for money exchange Everytime Im traveling. They have the best rates so far that Ive come across.
Best rates. Euro sells for 1.34 in the market, I got it at $1.37 with no fee. Competitors were going for $1.42 and up PLUS fees.
280 HUF to USD when market rate is 253HUF to USD
Exchanged AUD here after reading all the reviews. The rates were by far the best in the city and there was no commission. We made the mistake a few days prior and went to an exchange place on Broadway which took a ridiculous 15% commission. This place had none. Would definitely recommend to all!!
Best rate in the city, even better than the banks a few blocks uptown. Definitely recommend coming if you have leftover foreign currency from your trip abroad.
Review for Buying South Korean WonI exchanged USD for KRW. BOFA was offering me about 1185 KRW for 1 USD (for an extra bank fees, of-course). These guys gave me 1050 KRW. Which is ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC- definitely one of the best KRW exchange rates in NYC for buying (I should know, I called like fifty of them). And this was one of the few places that had an exchange for South Korean Won.The only thing is it looks shady. But it wasnt, AT ALL. And something could be said about the customer service too. But then again, I got a great exchange super hassle free, within like minutes- so I really dont care about anything else, tbh!9.9/10 Would Recommend.
This guy is a FRAUD. He sold us £50 notes that are no longer accepted in the UK. We had to exchange them for a haircut in London. Be careful of this guy.
Bring plenty of ID, especially for larger amounts. Small operation. But unbeatable rates.
Best rates in town after a quite extensive research!
I received very good exchange rate from here. Highly recommended-
Great people and great rates!
They are good to buy and change dollor to other currency.BUT They dont stand with thier rates when you SELL. You should ask before you give them your euros as you could lose some dollors.
★★★★★★Excellent rate★★★★★★ if you are tourist in NY and wants to exchange currency this is the best place where you can get the best rate. definitely it will save your valuable $$$$$$
I called some 4-5 different other places around in New York, and this place gave me the best rate. This place gave even better rates than my local Chase branch. When I exchanged a large amount of EUR into USD in mid-July, the local Chase branch offered to buy my EUR for 1.14 USD, but this place bought it from me for 1.18 USD. It helps if your bills is in large denominations. This place is a glass booth located inside a touristy gift shop (I almost didnt find it at first). You can call in first to confirm the rate as well.
Very fast, excellent location and great rates!!!
Excellent exchange rate. Probably the best in the city!
I would have never considered using this place (I prefer banks or known outlets), but I work around the corner so decided to give it a try. I also was concerned about some of the very negative reviews here. I called in advance. The place says it opens at 9:30, but when I called the guy said hed be there at 11. I called back at 11 and he said hed be there at 11:30. I asked him for the rate to buy Yen and he quoted 95 (same as noted on website). He asked how much I wanted and I said $140 worth. He then said hed do it for 96. I did the math in advance to make sure he wasnt going to try to pull a fast one. Lo and behold, he was good for 96! I had also checked travelex and chase as backup plans. Chase came in 2nd at 91.74 and travelex was considerably less at 87.1345. Also there were no hidden fees or surprises.Needless to say, I was pleasantly surprised. And yes, it is a booth in a small gift shop on 7th av.The only reason I didnt give 5*s was because of the flaky opening time, but once aware, I know to call in advance.
Great experience. They had the best rate I could find and I wasnt charged a service fee or commission. No hidden fees. 357 7th Ave between 29th & 30th, inside a gift shop.
Got 1.18 euro to Dollar. October 8th. Mid-market would be 1.15
The absolute nest rates in Manhattan! The staff is polite and its always a pleasure to make bussiness with A&S
By far the best rates in town. Call around and see for yourself
Called in to ask if they could exchange a slightly larger amount, was told sure, it would just have to be ordered. Travelled all the way to the store to be told that they won’t do it. Was given a bunch of lame excuses too.
Best rate I could find in the city
This is a great place with great rates and no extra fees.
Honest pricing. Great people!
Good rates - probably the best in NYC!
Best rates in town as far as I know
Best rates of the city. period.
Best place to exchange money highly recommended!!!
Very good rates, no hidden fees
Great rates, no commissions, nice people
Old guy was so rude. I wont exchange my money there anymore.
The best to change money in NY
One of the best rates in town.
Terrible customer service, had to watch him on his phone for 10 minutes before I was assisted, very rude
Outrageous ratesWanted to sell euros for dollarsMid rate was 1.1240 and I was offered a rate of 1.075% commission?!Might as well use your credit card and get points
Fast and clear
The best rate
Rates are really good
1.10 for Euro to dollars atm
Very good rates
Best !!!
Excellent service very good exchange of money for dollar fence without problems
Its hard to understand because its in a souvenir shop.In the first place, it was a sweet idea to change money after coming to NY, but I was able to change money for the same amount as changing money at Narita Airport! ♪ (´ ▽ `)The classic souvenirs are also cheaper than other stores, so it is definitely recommended! !
I forgot to exchange money in Japan, so I went to NY to exchange money. It was said that it was 160USD for 20,000JPY. 1USD = 125JPY. The exchange rate when I went was 1USD = 109JPY, so I stopped because it was too high. Check your rates, of course, when you exchange money.
