And l went to the main store 🏬 in Manhattan They say they will charge $650,🙁And separate Charge search for data recovery. Went to Staples, Laptop MD, Dev Computer In Brooklyn Etc. Ive had my lenovo laptop suddenly stuck in a self healing healing mode. Wonderful service! My laptop was no longer charging. I initially took it to Best Buy and was told it would take 4 to 6 weeks just to diagnose the problem but that it could possibly be an issue with the motherboard which would cost me several hundred dollars. I then searched Google for NYC repair shops and found these guys. They had the part in stock for the charging port that needed to be replaced and they said they could fix it in one day. My old HP work laptop was recently damaged during a thunderstorm and would not power on at all. I frantically researched how I could fix it since I needed to retrieve important files on the HDD. After three weeks of trying to fix it myself, I brought it to NYCH which happened to be only a few minutes walk from my office. After I dropped off the laptop, they called me later in the morning and recommended that the motherboard inside the laptop be replaced due to several short circuits. I was a bit concerned about replacing the MB since my HDD was encrypted, but it turned out to be fine. NYCH offered a very reasonable price, and my laptop was ready to be picked up only a few days later (faster than I had expected!) I was elated when my laptop turned on again and all my files were still there! However, my Ethernet port did not work (probably damaged in the storm surge) so when I called back and told them about it, they immediately ordered a USB to Ethernet adapter for me and it arrived the next day. When I went it to pick it up and pay for the adapter, they told me it was free of charge to my surprise. EXCELLENT overall service and communication!! I would highly recommend them! Be careful unfair pricing. Guy asked 500 $ to save my hdd external hard drive. He said it was bad. I came home, googled and found a program and recovered my entire drive for 100 bucks with a program called iboys data recovery . Seems like my drive was not bad at all . He said it is extra process, it is bad so it costs money. And they already own the proper software to recover the data but still asking so much money. And you dont even spend time on it, you just sit, scan and click on recover overnight and thats it. So why you ask 500? 👎now I know I will never go to this place ever again thanks👎

I was in desperate search for a place to hurry and look at my WD external hard drive where Ive kept at least 10+ years of photos in. It suddenly started failing and cant be recognized by my computers. I inquired a few places and this place is by far the quickest and response and also was also from talking to the store engineer it seems like they are able to fix it so I gave it a shot despite the high price but its well worth it!! They give me a quote of $950 + tax and told me that I only pay if they are able to fix it. Of course in my mind I hope that they can fix it and am willing to pay that. U also have the option to get an external hard drive from then for $80 which was what I did. I shopped around for a bit and decided to come back here and so glad I did!! They fixed my drive flawlessly within 10 days time! I am so glad u came to them u really saved my life! The price is well worth it as it is quite a complex job to retrieve the data. After being quoted 225$ from another place. I went somewhere who told me I needed a specific charger that they didnt have. I called this place and I was told to come in even though they didnt have the charger. They FOUND a charger that worked!! Thank you guys!

My five year old 1TB external hard drive suddenly stopped working. I tried to trouble shoot it myself first and have friends in IT look at it... Long story short, no one could figure out the issue and I wound up finding these guys online. Im very glad I did! When I called they were friendly, honest and upfront. I paid $250 (I think this service may normally be more expensive, but I was grateful for the price I got) + the cost of a new drive to transfer the files onto. It took them only two or three business days to get my old drive and its replacement with my restored files back to me. All of my files were there and working. I wanted to cry from happiness, but I kept it cool. I have a few other things that Id given up on that Id love for them to work on. Will definitely be going back to them. I highly recommend this shop!

Story: Went in because I was stumped on why my pc would not turn on. I did everything from changing the RAM, Battery, PC AC adapter, thermal paste and ssd. Nothing...... I brought everything to NY Computer help and they fixed the issue with in a day. It turned out to be a mother board issue.My pc has worked like a charm since getting it back. I needed to replace a swollen battery in a Dell laptop. Another shop didn’t want to do it because of the swelling but they had no difficulty. Also some screw heads were stripped. They went tsk tsk but just proceeded to drill out the screws and replace them. All this while I waited not too long as a walk-in. The charge was about $20 over the cost of the battery from Dell. So I’m happy.

This is my first ever Google review. Had to write one because Im so extremely grateful to Joe and his team for their professionalism, honesty and efficiency. I spilled a hot sweet drink all over my keyboard one night (sigh). They only charged me a quarter of what some other shops quoted, gave me a student discount, and took only half a day (when some other shops needed 3 or 4 days). They even fixed an additional audio issue of their own accord without charging me any extra. Bonus: they have a 60 days warranty period after the repairs are complete. Very nice, much better than I expected. The efficiency and seriousness of the staffs are at the highest level Ive ever seen so far.I bought a new WiFi module and let them help to replace it for me. Although they charged me $20 for their service fee, Id say ITS WORTH EVERY PENNY. They did it for me within 10 minutes. After I got home, I installed the driver and everything worked very perfectly!!

Saved my life. They were reassuring, and I needed it because I was going crazy about my lost data.I had a Lacie hard drive that I had not backed up since quarantine. The drive had a T-bite of animation and adobe premier compositions and assets. The Hard Drive had just stoped working out of nowhere, and though it would register on my Mac, when I opened it....nothing.KYCH got all my data back AND it was even in the same file hierarchy (video editors know how important this is). I dont usually post reviews, but New York Computer Help more than deserves it. I had an issue with the keyboard of my Dell work laptop when it suddenly stopped working out of the blue. I brought it to a shop near my apartment and had the most terrible experience. I sought advice from a friend who is tech savvy and he recommended New York Computer Help; Ive thanked this friend profusely. I found New York Computer Help to be extremely efficient, professional, and honest. Upon arrival, my laptop was taken to be diagnosed (no extra diagnostic fee charged!) and within 10 minutes, I was informed that the issue was hardware, not software. I had to leave the laptop there to be worked on. I left the shop at around 3 PM (I arrived around 2:45 PM) and by 6 PM, Idit had given me a call to inform me that my laptop is FIXED! Turns out, the motherboard had to be replaced. Turnaround time of 3 hours is super impressive, especially since my expectations were so low based on my previous horrendous experience. I shouldve taken it here sooner. I wouldnt hesitate to return in the future should the need arise. My laptop is working great (using it right now to type this review). This place is great! Im not a complete novice with computers, but I needed help when I couldnt figure out why my fans were acting up. The staff worked with me through my issue and all my questions. I had to revisit the shop multiple times as the issue kept arising with each tinkering/ treatment, which was frustrated, but finally the issue was fixed and my frustration was alleviated due to the incredibly reasonable price for all the hassle. They want to insure that the customer is happy at the end of the day.Ive had my fixed product for about 2 months now, and there arent any more issues with the fans like before, so Im very happy.They also have bathrooms on the floor, charging cables and outlets for phones/tablets, coffee and water. My beloved laptop crashed 2 years ago and I remember feeling devastated as I stared endlessly at the blue screen of death when that happened. I felt utterly hopeless that I was not able to back-up my 10 plus years worth of pictures. My husband found New York Computer Help and read all the amazing reviews about this place. I decided to check it out and brought my laptop in. While the people there said they were able to recover my files, my colleague found out about my situation and graciously offered to help me instead. I let my colleague took care of it and in the end, less than half of my pictures were recovered. The only pictures recovered were those dated after 2014 which meant he was unable to recover several thousands of pictures taken since 2006. He noted that my hard drive was severely damaged and tried to salvage as much as he could. Nevertheless, I was still happy that he was able to recover all my other files so I left it at that.Fast forward to today, a close friend of mine passed away and their family was reaching out to their friends and family members to send in pictures we all had with him. When I dropped off my hard drive at their store, they said it may not be a guarantee they can recover everything (because its been 2 years and my hard drive was damaged) but they will see what they can do.A day or two later, they informed me that all was recovered. I seriously could not believe it and needed to see it for myself in order to believe it (considering how damaged my hard drive was). Well, they were right and everything was recovered! I was able to locate that picture taken 13 years ago with my friend and her now-fiancé. My friend was happily surprised and so was I because that picture documented a moment that was irreplaceable.So dear people who have read this far, remember to back up your files regularly. If not, come to New York Computer Help where they will not only provide you with exceptional service but they will also treat your hard drive like their very own with a ton of love and care. I was in awe as to what an amazing job they did in retrieving all my pictures. I am a repeat customer of this business, and I must say they continue to be very proficient at what they do, and in a very courteous, prompt manner. They provided me an estimate for the repair (which seemed reasonable to me) and thats exactly what they charged once they fixed the problem with my aging laptop. They are very good at communicating updates on the status while the work is in progress.

My computer wouldnt start and I took it to New York Computer Help. The staff were so helpful, efficient and friendly. They diagnosed the issue, replaced the part and I left 30 mins later with a working computer! Excellent service and Id highly recommend them! Fantastic.

NY Computer Help did an awesome job repairing my broken screen for my rose gold MacBook. We called them the day before coming in and they were able to order the part; called me when it was ready and for me to come in, and then when I came in they fixed it in 30mins while I waited. Very reasonable prices, we had called a couple of other places and this spot was able to offer us the best deal. Very kind customer support person at the desk. Highly recommend.

Came here to have my very old MacBook Air battery replaced. Everyone here was very friendly and they were able to see my laptop right away. My battery had completely died and was no longer functioning. They were able to diagnose and replace my battery in one hour. Im so grateful to have a working laptop again.Best customer service in NY. UPDATE: The owner got in touch with me and they explained that there was a miscommunication in the way they handled the final service and they fully refunded me . Still annoyed by the dual boot issue that I had to solve by myself though.Very deficient service.The problem:I left a Dell Xps15 with an issue with the charging port. I could not charge the computer using the official dell charger through the standard jack.The solution:They offered me a replacement of the power for a 125 fee and no other alternatives. They were not able to repair the problem, as the issue was with the motherboard so instead they provided me with an usb-c charger insteadThe deficiencies:1. My objective was to charge the computer. The provided dell charger costs less than 110$ directly from dell. Instead of advising me directly to acquire a usb c charger as a solution, which would have been cheaper for me but no money for them, they recommend the more expensive repair, that also includes the risk of opening the laptop and messing with the board.2. They messed up my dual boot ubuntu windows. For some reason they had to log in into my windows account (they said to check if it was charging, but battery charge can even be seen pushing the button on the laptop side). In any case if they had to change bios settings they did not need to log in to windows. Finally my GRUB window disappeared after the repair, still pending a repair.3. My antivirus detected two new threats and my chrome install was broken. I only use windows for steam, just have it in case so why this happened in a power jack repair is beyond my understanding.4. The BIOS gives me a error message saying that the charger is 90W instead of 130. It looks like an official dell charger but they werent able to solve this issue now, or give an explanation, just to ignore it.5. They did not even communicate that the problem had no solution and gave me the new charger directly, without asking for my confirmation.An extra issue:Reading a bit more I see that the charger they gave me, which in theory provides 130W, does only provide 100W to my model (9560, it gives 130 to the 9575). So slower charging. They did not adviso on that and having known this I might have opt for a Dock Station that seems to provide the power necessary for full charges. All this after having told me that the usbc charger is super fast.

This was the easiest computer repair process Ive ever had. Everything was done quickly and efficiently and it was done right ther first time. I will be going back for all personal and business repairs!

I have not had the best experience there and I would not recommend them. I lost my charger a few years ago and I could not seem to find a replacement. So I brought my laptop there and they replaced the port. About month or so later my entire hard drive got fried and I brought it back there and they replaced it. I figured it was a coincidence. So when the port stopped working two years later I brought it back and they charged me than the more than the first time and this time I didnt get a charger. They did reduce the charge after I complained. Now my wireless adapter seems to be broken which is exactly what happened before the hard drive fried the last time. No longer think this is a coincidence. I am now about $600 in the hole for a computer that was working fine.
