Frank was an amazing historian and story teller. He was so knowledgeable about the history of the park as well as the surrounding areas. He was able to give information about the horse(Frank the Tank) and his care and will being too. My husband and I would totally do this ride again next time we are in NYC, but at night - just to see things from a different perspective.

Our driver, Henry, and his horse, Mary, were fantastic! Henry was super knowledgeable about the history of Central Park and kept us engaged during the ride without monopolizing our ride. He was incredibly well spoken and took the best photos of us on our ride!! Whatever you’re paying him, he needs paid more!!

My mother and I were spending a weekend in NYC and thought a carriage would be a fun night activity. It was absolutely worth the money. We did the tour of Central Park and 5th Ave. We got to the spot a little early like the email had asked and not being from the city was very nervous. I called the phone number given and spoke to Frank who was extremely helpful and calming. He contacted the driver and made sure to keep us updated. Rob and his horse Josefine (sorry if spelled wrong) were magnificent. Rob really made my mom feel so much better. He was engaging and offered to take our photos at great spots and knew SO MUCH about the city. We got to hear about celebrities who lived there, famous movie spots, and building details. He even stopped multiple times so we could get some amazing photos. It was not rushed but not too slow either. It was absolutely the best hour ride we had. The carriage was comfortable and Josefine was a doll. She knew exactly where to go and her feisty spirit was wonderful. Highly recommend!!!

Me and 3 of my oldest friends went to NYC for a weekend to celebrate our 40th birthdays. We booked with NYC Horse Carriage rides because they had an hour long tour and we wanted to see a good bit of the park. It ended up being too hot on Saturday for the horses so our tour was cancelled, but they were so accommodating, they fit us in the next morning before we had to drive out. Our driver, Pedro, was fantastic! He had all kinds of information about areas of the park and the surrounding structures. He stopped frequently so we could take pictures and he let us interact with the horse, Clinton, and take photos. Pedro also took TONS of photos of our group himself and really went out of his way to capture the experience for us. He was great. I would highly recommend this carriage tour if you are in town and seeing Central Park for the first time!

This was an amazing experience! My family enjoyed this to the fullest. Our guide was so friendly. My kids felt like they made a new friend. I would definitely recommend this company. They are punctual and professional. Oh, and did I mention the carriage was beautiful and Jack (the horse), was a sweetheart.

Christine was an absolute GEM! We booked back to back rides and instead of making us come back and get a new driver, they set it up so we had Christine for almost 2 hours straight. She was incredibly knowledgeable, witty, and just generally delightful. 100% recommend, especially if you get Christine.We got to feed King (our horse) and take pics at spots in Central Park. If you have a chance to go, take it! Worth the money.

Our ride is Central Park was just terrific! We are from Chicago. When we came home we said we wish we could do it every day! Registration is easy and efficient and they keepin touch with you via texts. This takes any of the nervousness away from being a tourist and wandering if you made the right arrangement and reservation. No sweat. Our carriage tour guide was named, Josh, and we couldn’t say enough about him . He was so informative, funny and personable. We enjoyed our time with him immensely. My husband and I both loved this New York treat. . Please do it! Keep in mind the cost is per ride, not per person which makes it reasonable for the beautiful experience. Can’t wait to go again, and hopefully we will get Josh again!

My family and I did the VIP experience recently. Pedro was wonderful, knowledgeable, friendly, and took a ton of family photos! Our horse was Clinton and he was just lovely. We pushed back our time by 1/2 hour day of and they were super accommodating. Overall, will use this company again when my husband and I return in December for Christmas.

The tour guide was very friendly and informative. Our horse was Mary she was a sweet girl. I noticed her not putting weight on her back right leg, but that could be normal I am no vet. The weather was nice and we were the first ride of the day. we took plenty of stops and they fed and watered her. Beautiful Horse. Got some really beautiful photos of our family as well! very relaxing listening to her trot through central park. An experience we wont forget.

HIGHLY RECOMMEND! Although it’s no cheap date to take a ride in one of these carriages, it is well worth the money if you’re in town looking for a leisurely way to see the Central Park area. My wife and I were chauffeured by Henry the human and Mary the horse; Henry is one of the kindest guys we’ve ever met! His tour was thorough and slow-paced, which made us feel like we were his only customers of the night (we weren’t, of course, but he certainly made us feel special). Our driver, Henry, and his horse, Mary, were wonderful. Henry was very knowledgable about the history of the park and the city and allowed us to stop and take photos of the Balto statue for my daughter. Well worth the money and I wish Henry the best in his studies and future endeavors!

This company did a top notch job! Making the reservations was quick and easy with great follow-up communication. I was impressed by that alone, but the driver put the day over the top. Joshua did a great job of sharing information about the park as well as delivering a great rendition of happy birthday! He dressed the part of the old time carriage driver right down to the top hat. Mary, who did all the heavy lifting looked in great shape contrary to what people warned us about. She was obviously well fed and watered. Joshua then helped us arrange rides to the Boathouse for a great lunch. Without his suggestions we might have navigated the trip to lunch, but he made it easy.

Very nice ride through the park especially with no cars anymore. But be cautious of who you get they will try to rip you off. Im not sure but I think its $58 for the first 20 minutes $20 every 10 minutes added on.

It was my honeys birthday and I once heard him say hed love to do a horse carriage ride in CP so last year I planned on booking one for him for his birthday this year. CP is one of my stomping ground so this was all for him. However I learned a few things that I didnt know. So that was great too. The horse name was Clinton. The jockey was funny, as we joked with him, Not a great photographer though so make sure you direct him how to take your photos and check them. Overall it was fun and informative.

If I could rate -10,000 stars I would. The people who came up with this, who run this, who participate in this are disgusting. The horses are clearly mistreated, very unhappy, and not at all meant to be where they are or doing what they are doing. Shame on all of you (even those who ride in these). Horses do not belong being used as props in a city, standing in the hot sun, all day on pavement gawked at and overworked, undercared for. I have never and will never use this. Bring these horses to a Western farm where theyll be happy and free.

We highly recommend this company. We had Casper and Tony as our tour guide through Central Park. Tony was very informative about the park, the city, and we enjoyed his story of how he grew up in this business. He takes really good care of Casper and Casper seemed to enjoy the walk and I’m sure he loved the apple I fed him at the end. All the carriages and horses are beautiful and well decorated and clean.

Honestly it was not as great as an experience as we had hoped for, it was nice to see the city at night but not much else. She had a lot of useless celebrity info and the horse was pretty temperamental.

Although Henry and Mary arrived late it was a very pleasant ride. Henry was very polite, he was knowledgeable of the landmarks and to make up for being a little late he extended our ride without saying a word. He also took the time to take pictures for us. My NYC Horse Carriage ride was spectacular. My wife and I had a great time on The Central Park Ride. It rained the day before but the weather was perfect. Our Carriage driver Pedro was friendly, funny and knowledgeable. He made the ride enjoyable, helping us with taking pictures and a good history of the Park and surrounding attractions. We will certainly ride here it again.

Our ride was great! My wife and daughters (10 & 12) were excited about he ride, but our driver (Henry) made it an even better experience than we could have hoped! He was funny, engaging, and balanced the talking so that we could enjoy the ride just as much as the commentary. After we finished, he let my girls feed the horse carrots to top it all off. My boyfriend and I did the Central Park and Rockefeller tour. Our horse was Josephine but I’m so bad at names I can’t remember the drivers name. I wish I could so I can give him credit too because he did a great job. We really enjoyed the ride and everything was so beautiful. Josephine and the carriage were very beautiful. He let us feed her carrots and get pics and he told us a lot of history of the park and parts of the city. It’s was amazing and I would definitely do it again and if I could remember his name I would request him and Josephine to take us around again. 😊

Company was great to book with and were quick to be flexible when Hurricane Ida interrupted our original plans. I think the quality of the experience depends on which guide/carriage person you get. Ours was more interested in talking about his top hat and suit attire than imparting knowledge about the park. Wish the tour would have been more about the park and less about him.

We had an absolutely wonderful time with NYC Carriage Rides. Eight family members, ranging from grandchildren to grandparents, enjoyed the sights of Central Park for nearly an hour in two NYC Carriages. The drivers were fantastic, telling stories about the sights, engaging in conversation and adjusting to the questions ranging from a 7 year old to a 75 pluser. We swapped midway, took photos and even enjoyed an extra stop. A very far cry from what we could see with other carriages, where the drivers were more busy with their cell phones than with the horse and their passengers. Id seen the carriages at the park for many years, but had no idea how much fun and informative they could be. Bravo NYC Carriages!!!

We had a very nice ride. We’ve never been here before, and thought a ride through the park would be the best way to get a good view of it. The park is a wonderful break from the busy city. The driver was very friendly, and took a ton of photos at our stops. But I would recommend not standing too close to the horse for photos - my daughter got a small nip on the arm. Just ended up with a bruise, luckily, as she wore long sleeves. He was likely looking for his carrots.

My wife and I were celebrating our 28th anniversary. After searching on the website we chose your company. You mentioned how you treat your horses well.We had Rob as our driver and he was Awesome. Very knowledgeable about New York and the area. When we stopped for pictures, kids came up and asked it they can feed the horse. Rob smiled and said of course. Robs personality was great. We had scheduled a carriage ride in advance through the website. Making a reservation was easy, as was changing the time. Our carriage arrived on time with a chipper tour guide named Josh. Josh was engaging and hysterical! I was thoroughly enjoying myself and forgot for a glorious 20 minutes that I have cancer. That is when I got a phone call I could not ignore from MD Anderson Cancer Center. He was patient and thoughtful while I took the call. After the phone call, it was back to hilarity. I enjoyed it so much that I would absolutely do it again! It is worth the money, especially if you get Josh! Also, if it is your birthday, you might get an amazing serenade!! And maybe even if it isn’t your birthday! I highly recommend this company and this tour. Go for the 55 minute tour- it is worth every penny!

Ive lived in Queens for most of my life, but now that I live in Colorado, I visit my parents a few times a year and taking this carriage ride was definitely a lifetime experience to remember. We made the reservation. Moved it to another time. Then because of rain they let us move it to another time. Very Gracious and accomodating. We were in town for our 54th and love Central Park. It was our first carriage ride and our driver/entertainer/historian/photographer/dreamer gave us an awesome trip around the park. It created a life long memory. You just have seen this in movies and TV shows. Its quite an attraction. People like to ride in the horse carriages and see the Central Park this way. You can try it if its your thing. But it something that would fascinate a white American from an urban area. Not much to see for most other people. Anyway, the horses are glorious. The carriages are great. The staff is even better and tries to make your ride worth it. Also alot of great attractions nearby. Go see!

I went with my bf for our 6 month anniversary. It was very nice, and the view of Central Park was beautiful! The guy who drove our carriage was very friendly and informative. It’s something nice & romantic. I would recommend doing it in the evening ! We did ours at 6pm

I celebrated my 54th birthday with my family and friends, we drove two hours from NJ to ride the horse and carriage. It was the best birthday I ever had, we all enjoyed it, friendly workers and friendly horses.

My husband and I were in NYC celebrating our 19th anniversary. It is one of my very favorite places to visit, but he had never been. I made him do all the tourist things since is was his first time and Central Park is, of course, a must see. When I stumbled across NYC Horse Carriage Rides on Google while trip planning, I knew this would be the perfect way to see the park together, especially since we were already doing so much walking in the city. It was perfect! From the moment I booked our 45-minute tour, they were in communication with me about what to expect and provided explicit directions on how to get there and find the right carriage. I was pretty confident in how to get there, but I appreciated this since navigating the city can be difficult, especially first-timers, and the street salespersons are quite aggressive. The day we originally booked ended up being cancelled by them due to the heat (and the safety of the horses, so I understood!), however I was able to immediately reschedule, and they offered a refund if I was unable to reschedule. On the day of, they provided multiple reminders throughout the day and even texted me while we were en route to make sure we were able to find them okay. Our driver was awesome. She was super knowledgeable and shared a lot of details about the park that I had never heard. It was so much fun and our horse, King, was a superstar cutie. I will be back in the city with my daughter in May and I am really hoping to be able to do this tour again with her. Highly recommend to anyone who wants to spend some time in Central Park, hear about its great history, and take a break from the all of the NYC walking!

Friendly customer service. They were able to alter our reservation easily. They also let us know about a hat left in the carriage.We left right away when we were early.The driver was not speaking loudly enough and didnt offer much information about the park.

My grandson and I had a lovely ride about the park this morning. Thankfully I scheduled the ride online, because I accidentally left my glasses in the carriage. Since I scheduled online, the driver, who was able to retrieve my phone number, kindly gave me a call and I picked them up from him this afternoon. Booking process was smooth and ride was great and very informative about the city and park if you are not a local. As they state when you book you will be hounded and harassed by other ride vendors, but all the horse carriage drivers do stick together. When the other horse drivers saw us being hounded they came over to chat and see what we were waiting for. Once they found out we had a ride schedule they kindly moved the person along that was bothering us!

Josh was a great host/driver and made the experience that much more enjoyable. I highly recommend NYC Horse Carriage Rides and Josh specifically (sorry I forgot the horses name).

Clean, professional ride through the park. Did not disappoint! Kids had been asking to take a carriage ride and it was enjoyable for all of us.
