I doubt anybody in management will read this- but to all of the innocent patrons wanting to enter this establishment, here are few pointers.1. The bouncers are aggressive and not bright. They treat you like they are herding cattle and insisted on having a line outside with an empty club.... in the rain.2. MANDATORY $5 coat check. (They must lose a lot of money in the summer)3. The bar staff is rude and will add a 20% gratuity to a check. Whats the incentive to be nice if they know they are getting paid? Just bring cash and avoid it. One beer is $11.4. Handsy bouncers- they grabbed my bf upon entry for no reason and then got in his face for no reason. It felt as if he was looking for a fight.5. The dance floor smells like armpits.Thats it. Have fun!

Went here for Desi Saturdays. They posted free tickets on Eventbrite but the security guard said they werent valid. Had to pay 20 dollars entrance (girls is 10). The venue itself has a nice decor. A bar at the entrance and one next to the dance floor. The dance floor isnt small nor big. The drinks were ridiculously expensive. They automatically charge you a 5 dollar tip. Shots were like 12 dollars.

Fun place but it always reeks of weed. Its v dark inside as well which I guess is the norm. U have diff rooms to choose from. Its not bad overall.

It gets two stars just because it is the only club in NYC playing Desi music (Indian Bollywood Music) and it used to be a decent club a couple of years back.Small and extremely crowded dance floor, super expensive drinks, rude bouncers and a crappy DJ!I have been to Lexicon quite a few number of times. Overtime, the management has becoming worse! Now, they have only one motto: Get as many people, inside the club, as possible and pack the dance floor with no space to move. Play same set of flop non-dance numbers back to back, weekend after weekend without caring about what kind of Bollywood music is trending or what people are requesting.$10 cover charge for guys. Free entry for women. $18 per drink!Never coming back her again!

That DJ Sucks!! they need to change them ASAP even the people working over there where making fun of the DJ LOL!! if any other new Desi pub opens up in NYC these pub well go down in days i believe.

I had gone there with a group of friends and had a wonderful time. The Music was awesome.They had open bar till 11pm so got free drinks. At late night, they had a live dhol. Overall experience was excellent!

The place is nice but smaller than I thought. I hate the fact that you have to pay $5 for coat check. I must say however it is fairly close to the train station and the bathrooms are nice.

Awesome place to come to if you LOVE Desi music! They play all the stuff I would want to listen to and even add in some remixed EDM style Desi beats. The deejays are great.I was a bit hesitant about going my first time from reading all the negative reviews but now that I have been there well over 7-8 times, I can say this..Security at the door is like any other security I have encountered at a dance club. They are no nonsense and dont bother you unless you give them a reason. I have never had an issue at the door. I have come with a mate of my mine and they just asked us for ID and $20 cover at the door (which I believe is standard, since I have paid the same every time).The bartenders are decent, I did have to wait a few mins for a drinks since it was quite busy. No big deal to me as it is warranted in a dance club.Overall, the experience is amazing for anyone looking to enjoy a night of drinks and dancing Desi Style.I look forward to attending again as soon as I get back from my trip.

I was looking forward to this place. when I got in the place is too small. The dance floor is not to big. Ever one is on top of each other. I wish there was lower rating than 1 *. This is absolutely overhyped place and worthless. To the Manny Singh I was pretty disappointed with my Saturday night at Lexicon. I was not happy at all. This was waste of my time.

To the director Manny Singh: Dude, grow up. If a guy comes without girl, doesnt mean he is not a nice person. If u still believe in that mentality, go to some conservative place and open a club. This is NYC. People come here to enjoy and not to tease girls. We know well how to respect women. If ur still afraid, keep some good bouncers. Denying entry without ladies is non sense. Went for a desi night on Saturday.Cons:1.Does let in anyone and everyone! floor gets crowded with drunk, non-dancing guys staring their eyes out!2. Music is just loud, DJ was horrible, music system was horrible, no bass. Just plain old loud!3. Charge for coat check, sitting, and have over priced drinking.4. Overall ambience was also poor!Verdict: Must not go, never ever! Its NYC, go to any other place.

Almost every girl comes here with their male friends. These male friends act like they are bodyguards for these girls. These guys neither know how to dance nor the girls dance with other guys. All these girls who come along with their male friends are very conservative.But the club has a good music and the management(indian guy) was very friendly. DJ was super.

Awful management. The bill wasnt what we expected, they had added price of additional drinks in our bill which we had never ordered and charged us an enormous amount. The customer care is also good for nothing when it comes to such disputes.

Pros :We went there with group of friends - entry is cheap only 10 $ . DJ shadow Dubai was playing - I am big fan of his music - good music - they have guard at bathroom - so no opportunity of drugs - drinks are expensive which is kind of understandableCons :Small dancing area - too many people - you may feel claustrophobic but the biggest problem is group of men who thinks every girls ;in other group interested in them - I think Manager said about this issue above- these guys do not have girlfriends and they think they have rights over every girls in the club - Indian men when you will grow up - I think the bouncers know them or they may be regular in club, I will not be surprised if there is sexual molestation case going forward. So when going there go in a group .

The place is small for the number of people it allows. Over rated drinks and extra $5 for coat area is too much. But the music was good.

Wanted to enjoy some desi music! But then I would never to Lexicon again. Its just not worth the time and money. When I reached the club I was told to wait outside until they decide to allow us and the reason they gave was bcoz we dint accompany with any girl.. :D :P. On a email it said free entry before 11, but thats just a gimmick..had to pay 20 bucks per person for the entry and over to that every drink was included with a tip of 15-20% by default which I dint see initially and had ended up writing the tip again.

Attended a party and the layout was decent. The hostess was great but they didnt have real sparklers on their bottle service. Also, they dont sell food.

Lexicon is in a word, terrible !!! They charge 20 dollars, make you buy drinks then their bar staff behave atrociously. Dont expect one particular female bartender to spare you so much as a glass of water. Waste of money, theres better desi spots in the city...A dark room and spotify might work just fine too. Lexicon ..is a con for sure!

Had a funfilled experience. The drinks are super pricy, double the normal rate and on top, the bartender forces you to tip 15-18%. Not gng again. Upscale crowd.

I feel bad for all of you who had been to these desi parties!! The experiences you have posted here are very common behavior of our Indian managment and the stink on the dance floor has to do with peoples hygiene ( body odors). Im sure some of you take care of yourselves very well but there are others who dont give a dime about it! Added to that, the environment really sucks!! Guys vs girls ratio really sucks and getting laid is impossible!! Its like hitting a lottery! Ive personally never been to any desi parties for all the above reasons! Dont take me wrong, Im a good looking guy and Ive met quite a few girls from other races. So. Why on earth would someone put themselves in an environment where you cant have fun!

I have visited this place a few times, the last time I was here, there was a brawl between customer and the bouncers. Not a pleasant sight. 5$ for coat check is very steep considering they have $30 cover charge. Drinks are slightly more expensive than regular bar. Usually have decent music, but last time, it wasnt upto par.

Went there for an afterparty for a Lincoln Center outdoors african event and i loved the space a lot. The layout was perfect because the entire crowd can be seen and there are plenty of tables to lounge at. The Dj booth is also well positioned and visible to the crowd which is always helpful.

Given a chance i would rate this place as zero stars as they would ask you to make a reservation on eventbrites which says its 10$ and when u reach there they say 40$ each.The music is trash and the DJ will play the complete somgs and bore u like crazyAnd on card minimum 35$ like seriously

Pretty small nightclub with expensive drinks that are so not worth the ambiance. 29$ for two shots! They have parties on weekends with 20$ cover for guys and 10$ for girls. Theres a 5$ coat check per person on top of that.

Desi saturday’s new year 2018 eve party at bowlmor chelsea NY was a biggest disappointment. Sound system was totally broken. Poorly managed.

I with my friends had been to club many times in past but our recent experience is worst than ever. Firstly there was a guy near to coat section who constantly kept pushing us (literally pushed us physically) in the queue and kept shouting us. Even after telling him that there are people in front of us then also he pushed us and kept shouting at us badly. Secondly the bartender misbehaved and called a friend of mine Are you stupid on the face while we were trying to make payment. The payment was above $30 to be eligible to be paid by credit card which she wasnt accepting. My friend had to wait for half an hour to get his order served. On top of it bartender added gratuity by herself. We would not like to spend money to visit this club anymore and get insulted. Very rude and bad behaviour by the staff.

The only thing good about this place is that it takes you back to the tackyness of loud Bollywood music in a typical Delhi party. Actually both of my stars really go to the dholwala. The drinks were diluted down like how and no matter what you buy theres a mandatory gratuity of 20%. Staff is not very good, either at the door or even inside the club. They say free entry until 10 PM, who enters a club in NYC before 10, thats just a marketing stunt. I wish there was lower rating than 1.This is absolutely overhyped place and worthless.$20 cover, $5 dollar for Jackets, $30 dollar minimum credit card, while checking out see an extra 20% tip on your bill by default, irrespective of youre willing for that much or not. So avoid tipping them twice when checking.At the gate the guy will ask you unnecessary questions and make others wait like hell, as you stand and wait in airport security check. This review applies to Lexicons Bollywood Saturdays.I was pretty disappointed with my Saturday night at Lexicon. Saturdays are advertised as Desi Saturdays with Bollywood music, but I maybe heard two or three Bollywood songs in 3 hours of staying there. The DJ kept playing EDM songs over and over; they werent even remixed or mashed up with Bollywood hits, it was like they just went to Spotify and played David Guettas radio station. I like EDM, but it didnt fit the theme of the night at all, and the people I went with were confused that there was more EDM and generic Punjabi songs than Bollywood music.The DJ was also clueless; when he finally played some old-school Bollywood music, the club went wild and everyone sang along and had a blast. Then he went back to just playing bass thumping and the crowd died down again. Maybe its just a ploy to get people to go to the bar to buy drinks.Drinks were priced normally for NYC ($8 beer, $10 drinks), but overpriced for the quality of this club. The other partiers here were also quite rude; I was constantly bumped into even though it wasnt very crowded. I wouldnt recommend coming here.

Club run by so called 70s cheap mentality dude. Looks like they have migrated but never really become true New Yorker.Manny singh we can also judge with clothes whether club run by pervert. Anyways here is our part of experience. Our group has girl so entry was not an issue . What surprises me the way they charge differently.Dj was playing song that we had never heard and yes that so true he play hit song with pause and stop. I bet he is still naive with fade and rolling with mixer.Later that night our friends bag got stolen and after she reported their staff reported that they found it in mens room. I swear I have never seen stealing in any club across New york . What surprises me how that stolen bag was recovered in no time but no one saw who stole it. When she complain; management were totally ignorant and were least interested in help her out . She lost wallet, camera and mobile phone.I have been to other clubs but girl please think twice before carrying your bag inside this club. I felt their staff were involved in the whole incident.We all love desi music but not on cost of theft..visit 1on 1, paasha, underground you will never loose your stuff.

Not a great experience. Was not at all according the expectations. DJ was playing all remix of Indian old music and for hours and hours of Punjabi music. Please do not call it Bollywood rather call it as Punjabi night. Such a waste !!

Waste if time,One of the Worst Club i Ever went to NYC. first thing first, we were 5 friends(male) at the Door after Security Guys there was an Organizer person who gave us 2 choices to enter, first to keep up Ratio of Girls/Boys we had to Bring at least 3 girls(which is BS), or 2nd we will have to Buy Bottle which was Cost about 500$, we all got Flipped off, doesnt say on website that only couple entries..somehow we paired with other stranger girls we got in, the Next worst thing DJ, what the Hell All Old Music, and if any nice Songs Comes on, He Stops every Second, Everybody was getting pissed,people start on Bhangras/Dances steps then he stops...Terrible Experience, I have been to other Indian Clubs like Basement Bhangra,Babylon Hukkah Baar & Empire Roof Bollywood Night, but this was terrible..i did read Reviews(were Bad) before i went & Advise my friend not to go, but My friend insisted so we went, we found what Reviews were Telling...Pls Dont waste your Time..Definitely will not recommend ..

I usually dont write reviews unless a place is absolutely horrible. So to start with, you have to do a MANDATORY COAT CHECK WHICH IS 5 $, so if you are cold, you may die of it, but you have to give it away or you have an option of getting the hell out. You dont get water in glasses, only paid bottles for which you have to pay in cash. So basically if you have tonnes of money, and cannot create a bollywood music environment at home and have a house party, visit this place.
