Great place for modern artwork and graphics design. I have not seen anything like this before. Although the place is not very big but they have done a great job in terms of the big room that has projection all over it. Its one big room where you can go sit on the ground and enjoy the art. I found it very trippy and very relaxing. My first impression wasn’t good but when I actually sat on the big room and spend 40 mins it was very relaxing and calm.
Really really cool fractal landscape artwork, and a good date spot in Chelsea.Just be sure to set the expectations that it’s basically one big room and the art projects all over you while you sit on the floor, without any narrative or voice over to accompany the art. There is also a cool room in the back where they explain how the art is made and you can practice doing it yourself.
Went there with the family and we had an amazing experience. The main installation Geometric Properties was breathtaking and innovative. I still cant believe its all just fractals. It felt like I was in a different world. The other interactive installation was very fun! The staff there was great and were very helpful. They gave me an intro about the space and also their COVID policies which they maintain very well. Cant wait for their next exhibition!
The visuals are very awesome to look at. You can easily get lost in the visual art if you let yourself. I thought the space was bigger (based on the reviews and videos). You can either be there for a half hour or 10 minutes 🤔. It was a good experience but Im not sure if Id go back; good for a one time experience
I came here on a date. It was a fun experience. Really relaxing to watch the trippy images in motion. The images were displayed twice in one hour so you can watch and admire the first half of the hour and take pictures the second half. The images in motion were displayed on the ceiling, floor and the three walls around. As i was leaving, i felt dizzy, i almost fell.
Visual audio showcase for artists. There is a main room for the large audio visual exhibit that they happen to be featuring at the time.Theres also an upper floor for some additional exhibits. There was also a small room for an interactive experience when I visited.Really appreciate these type of spaces for this type of art.
Hands down the best Art/Science installation Ive been too. Mesmerizing and hypnotic... just melt into the art. Well done and definitely worth it!
It was dope! I have been wanted to visit this installation for a while, and when I came here on a date, I was wowed. The fractals were encompassing, vibrant, and very surreal. I was there for about 20 minutes, and the whole time I was pretty impressed.I also very much liked the fractal lab! I see how talented these people are making these. Overall I had a great time! Def worth the price
Been wanting to go here a while cuz they always seem to have very interesting exhibits but never had the time until recently when I went here with some friends to view Geometric Properties. LOVED it, especially after having seen the highly popularized but very disappointing Immerssive Van Gogh experience which was neither immerssive nor an artistic escape. Artechouse, although much more limited in space, controlled the flow of visitors so well and the display of artworks so immersive that you dont feel like youre in a roomful of people or that its just an instagramming hotspot. highly recommend and will definitely visit now often in the future for other exhibits.
Exhibit has 3 attractions. This a is a visual and auditory experience. Located in the Chelsea Market. The main exhibit is a room where you sit on the floor to view the projections so I would not recommend for the elderly crowd or small children as this can get uncomfortable. Visuals are very intense so beware.
This place is way more than pictures and video can illustrate. The staff are very friendly. When I arrived I was later than my visit time but just join the line and youll be in shortly. I recommend going two hours before closing so you can truly enjoy the place. Come with a friend to talk with and enjoy the space keep yourself from being on your phone try to be as present as possible. I own a traveling page on instagram @k_ventures
Enjoying art is a very subjective experience and I didnt find Artechouse super interesting. I feel it looks cooler on video. Nothing wrong with the management. Would have given 4 stars if the tickets were a little cheaper.
We came for Geometric Properties - great exhibit! Very immersive, and Artechouse is a great space for exhibits like this. Theyre following covid protocols, you can enjoy the exhibit without any worries. It’s located in Chelsea Market, another good reason to go. Just wish the gift shop had more offerings, maybe next time!
After seeing so many ads I finally decided to check it out with my boyfriend. Maybe it was just me but I thought there would be more things to see, when in reality it’s one big room with big poles in the way of it all and the small “interactive” screens on the top floor. Not to mention it was pretty full in that only room and barely anywhere to sit. Personally I think it’s too over hyped and I wouldn’t go back. Maybe I would recommend someone because maybe they would like it, but to each their own!
Ive been to 3 different exhibits already- every experience is uniquely different and immersive. If you’re a fan of interactive digital art- you will enjoy this experience.
I wish there was more real reviews about this place so I didn’t waste my money and my time in this small room with unfriendly staffThey opened 5 minutes late and lady in front desk ask everyone to stand beside the wall while one person ask about what about social distance as we were a lots of people who were standing next to each other she said that’s okBut the funny part is they asked for mask insideTotally waste time and moneyHighly not recommendThere are lots of places in NY I wish I spent my final hoursLook at my pictures and there is no more you wanna seeIf you are high you might enjoy this place lol otherwise it makes you dizzy and not fun
Definitely not worth the 28$ per person.. More like 10$ worth... Just one big hall with the fractals and thats it...the 4 to 5 mini fractal generators on the wall when you enter is not worth it at all... We were bored after ten minutes itself and we left in half an hour after just sitting there for resting thats it
Fun exhibit! Smaller than I thought but worth the price for the ticket. Geometric properties exhibit was very cool, I felt like it told a story somehow. Would recommend
This is NOT an experience. It gets old after 2 minutes. This is a glob of pictures from Tumblr projected onto the 4 walls of a very small spaceDon’t waste your money
Amazing art and calm vibes. They have exhibits that you can interact with which was really cool and they had places to dine nearby. Nice for a date or exploring by yourself. Only con is that I thought they would have more exhibits.
I thought it was a pretty fun experience! The show was intriguing and lots of opportunities for cool photos. I did think it was going to be bigger and not just 1 main room but overall worth it. They have lockers (for free) which are a great add-on to store your jacket/bag. They also provide some seats and cushions so you dont have to sit on the floor if its not your thing. The corner spots are the most sought after so setup around them so you dont have to fight to the death for them lol.
I mean its cool, but definitely not worth the ticket to get in. Its basically one big room with two smaller room exhibits, which arent really that interesting. I would recommend the Museum of Ice Cream instead! Way cooler and you get a lot of free ice cream 😁
This place is so cool! My friends and I went here the other day to see their Celestial show and it was so breathtaking! They have so much space for everyone to sit and wander around, but also able to keep a safe distance. They also ensured that everyone kept their masks on the entire time and used hand sanitizer. The theme of the show was really cool to watch and see, and they had little interactive stuff upstairs as well. We spent about a hour and a half there, and it was so worth it.
Pretty cool! I would definitely recommend to friends. I wish there was more though...as awesome as it was I feel like it needed something else. The main room is where its at but there are 2 other smaller areas with something different and interactive. Youre basically paying for the main room. Its still pretty cool and for sure worth the visit
We love the d.c. location (going again in december). D.C. is a HUGE location and tons of exhibits!Part of my 3 star review for NYC spot is we planned our 6 days / times admissions for weeks ahead, bought artec tix, and were emailed shortly after it was now closed. Not a problem BUT caused chaos and had to reshuffle 4 other admission days / times etc.Other problem with NYC was the main large NYC roomed exhibit and smaller fractle bar exhibit were super cool and hats off to artists (9/23/21 visited) but we were let down a bit by the size of this location and since we had to last minute (literally) rejuggle half our trip because of sudden artec schedule changing it was just hectic... not to say others will be as well but we are only comparing. If youve never experienced an artechouse exhibit, by all means GO!Our visit to artec in d.c. was part life changing and beautiful....................Be weekly.
Great experience. For a moment I put on my own headphones and got to watch the show to my own music, it was lovely. Would definitely recommend.
Its a good show but very small place, it is just in ONE large room. Not at all worth it for $24 a person. You can spend that money and time on another attraction
I mean I guess it’s cool and all but definitely do your research before coming. It was a tad bit underwhelming after seeing all the hype and reading about its history and purpose. Claim 16K resolution but I’m guessing unless you’re either under some influence or stare at it for long periods of time it doesn’t look very mesmerizing. More like a one-time thing that may be worth a revisit in the future with a different set of friends who have not experienced it before.
While the interactive space may not be crazy big, what they have is more than entertaining. The interactive pieces are nice but the main room takes the cake.
I really liked the whole atmosphere and installations. You are able to transport yourself to a world where tech meets mathematics and you can interact with both of them. Recommend 👍
I had high expectations coming in but the exhibit didn’t meet them. It’s two rooms with some interactive technology. It was pretty cool for 10 minutes. Definitely not worth $20.Also, the male host was pretty rude. My party and I arrived 10 minutes before our 9pm appointment. There was no one in line and it was very cold outside. We went inside to check in but were told we would be checked in closer to 9pm. We waited 5 minutes and another customer (white)arrived. She had the same appointment as us and her party did not arrive yet but she was escorted in while we waited in the cold. One of my guests went in to politely ask when we could check in and we were told to wait outside and we would be let in later. It was 5 minutes after our slot before we would be admitted. We felt discriminated against and will definitely not return.
One of the best art galleries in downtown. Just a historical building with original brick walls beautiful layout and beautiful art
I got excited and hyped up from all the pictures/videos on social media about this place. Honestly speaking, it turned out to be a downer for the price that we paid ($24 a person is not worth it). Was hoping for a much more immersive experience overall. And someone had left a gum on one of the seats inside, which ruined my friends jeans. Would appreciate if artechouse is strict about (or enforces some) chewing gums policy to ensure incidents like these do not happen again. Thanks!
I loved coming here with my friend. The place is clean and the staff is very friendly and helpful. They all wear masks and have sanitizer. With my friend we were trying to take pictures and one of the staff members called us and gave us some tips for making the best pictures. 💙I loved the art displayed and will come back! It can be a experience for the whole family.
Definitely exceeded my expectations! Brought my (adult) nieces here and they loved it! Would also be a dope date (IMO)
This place is an absolute scam. If I can rate it zero stars I would. First of all I bought tickets to this place on the 23rd of July for my friends birthday. Upon our arrival we were denied entry due to “technical difficulties”. The lady at the front asked if I would like to rebook or get a refund issued and since the only reason I was there was for her birthday, I picked the refund. A week later I come to find out that instead of a refund being issued, they rebooked me for the 30th. I emailed them explaining the situation and Juan Arturo said that there is nothing he can do and the I checked in at 6:07 yesterday. I LIVE IN NJ AND WAS NO WHERE NEAR THE CITY YESTERDAY. It’s not easy for me to make it to the city. This place stole my money. I do not recommend this place to anyone. They do not even have a phone number to call. This place customer service is the pinnacle of horrible.
Very cool experience. I think $25 per person is overpriced though, personally.
Loved it! Perfect for kids, hanging out with friends or that thing you do after a date to get to know that person more 😉
Very fun experience at the Artechouse! My girlfriend and I booked tickets to see the exhibit about a month in advance, and unfortunately we had to reschedule. The customer service department there was awesome and very friendly/understanding. They were able to reschedule us for another day.Overall, a great time and the staff did an outstanding job making sure everybody was socially distant and safe. Totally recommend it !
Frankly, I was expecting more than what we experienced. Its basically a one large room with screens all around it, playing this cool and artistic videos. Im sure the production is complex but the overall experience just seemed short-changed. My kids (11 and 8) did not like it at all. They were done after five minutes and overall we all were like ok, is this it?.It could also be that for different exhibits it could be better but we didnt particularly enjoyed this one. I, personally, was able to appreciate it but again it seemed short of what you expect. My husband did not enjoy. We went for the Geometric Properties exhibit.
Super fun experience! Felt very safe and cleanliness precautions were taken. The place wasn’t big as I was expecting but definitely worth it. I would recommend it. Very friendly and professional staff. Thank you!
Technically only one major exhibit. The others three exhibits are small projections. Very chill and relaxing. Cool experience. Plan maximum 2 hours here. Cost is $24 (without fees)per person which is a bit high for the experience. You also can purchase non-alcoholic drinks for $8 dollars but you can only enjoy upstairs with the three small exhibits. Looking forward to artechouse growing and expanding so we can enjoy more!
The exhibit was definitely intimate
What a wonderfully immersive way to experience art! Yes, it feels trippy.. Grab a cushion, and sit on the floor, its the best way to enjoy it!
I think I had high expectations coming in. But the experience was ruined before I even walked in the door. It was raining outside and we saw a sign on the door that said something along the lines of “please wait outside, someone will be there to assist you in a moment.” We waited for five minutes, and I saw a line inside and thought maybe they had moved the queue? Luckily, my group brought umbrellas but it was cold. After a few more minutes, we decided one of us should go in and see what was going on since more people kept joining the line without being updated on anything. We were also five minutes late, so we wanted to know if there would be any penalties. As soon as I went in, I opened my mouth to politely ask if we still stand outside despite the rain. Without saying anything, the girl at the table just pointed out the door, signaling me to go back outside. I was kinda shocked by how rude it was, especially their body language. It took about ten more minutes before someone came outside and told us they were going to start checking everyone in. When we got inside, a different woman told us it was okay that we were late and told us where to stand in line. However, we noticed that she seemed to talk down more to the Asian guests that came in. There was an Asian woman that came in late with the same time as us, yet the lady gave her an entire spiel about how it’s unacceptable to be late and she “should be more mindful of [her] time.” We also noticed she seemed to talk more about the rules to the Asian guests, yet my mom, who was a white woman, was not given a talk-to about the same issue. Once we actually made it inside of the exhibit, it was cool but only for about ten minutes. After that, it was kinda boring. Cool concept and dope execution but just meh after a bit. Kinda a waste of money.
Pretty cool! Not as big as expected. Its really just a big room but the installation is quite something to see.
Fantastic layout! Fabulous! Had a wonderful time! Highly recommend it 😊
Very awesome experience! The projections are fascinating and mesmerizing! Could easily sit there for your entire hour and be totally engulfed in the amazing art!
Cool experience. Would have been better if it were an actual show put together but all in all it was nice.
Its really awesome experience for us. Its one hour show . The lighting show really mindblowing. They also maintain the safety issue for the customer and also maintain the distance. They have 4 satup for now. And also they have one gift store. They dont have any parking and the street parking is not too easy. They have one common restroom. Its very clean. Each and every employee very friendly and helpfull for you . I am very satisfied for overall service . 🌹
Very fun! Wish there was a little more to do-- felt like the ticket price was a little high for the short amount of time you spend at the show. but it was very cool.
I’ve been to all the locations except for LA. The NYC location has the most interactive experience of the three I’ve visited. Artechouse is amazing. I love it so much. It’s fun for any age. Staff was very friendly.
This place could be really great, but its too small of a space to really feel very immersed in the experience. Im bugged that the ceiling isnt a part of the visual stuff going on. It forces you to see the walls, which always have people standing in front of them, posing, taking selfies, etc.The interactive touch free experiences are really dope once you get the hang of them, though. Also, download the app before you go and make sure your have a good amount of battery. The app experience is worth it. 😎
I like going to artechouse and think it is a cool date spot. Since the last time I went, they have added some interactive features and I would recommend combining this with a walk to little island and then a dinner to make for a good day in the Meatpacking district.
This was a very fun experience, Im glad i stepped out of the box and tried something like this because I know many people who havent even heard of this.. very cool thing to do
A great immersive art exhibit! Went with my 14 year old niece who enjoyed it as much as I did. Would love to go back and see more exhibits here.
I was there in July my cousins from Puerto Rico surprise me. And they took me to see the show it was amazing. And they loved too.Iam planning to go again. When they show another different exhibitionPlease let me know.
