By far one of the WORST car rentals I have ever used. I had a flight changed and wanted to change my pick up time for an earlier pick up time I was given the run around given different numbers to call. I called and spoke to a representative and when I asked for her name she hung up on me. I called back to also inquire about a car seat rental before I was done asking my question she hung up on me again. She was so rude and had a nasty attitude seemed to be getting annoyed because I was asking questions. I called again for the 3rd time and she put me straight to voicemail. Called a 4th and 5th time and still no response I swear this place is a joke! I should’ve read the reviews before booking with them! PLEASE DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME WITH THIS PLACE!! I called the number that was on my itinerary and asked for a supervisor to make a complain on the lady I spoke with and was on hold for 30 minutes before they hung up on me! Really considering taking a loss and booking else where this is so UNPROFESSIONAL!!! I really wish I didnt have to give them a star to be completely honest I am so disgusted with this place!!!!

DONT WASTE YOUR TIME IN THIS COMPANY. Worst company ever. They DONT GIVE YOU THE CAR INSURANCE, NO REGISTRATION. I got two tickets by police of course for not having those documents. I went to the company and they told me that they wouldn’t take RESPONSIBILITY FOR THIS INCONVENIENCE. Also, they overcharge me. They said they will send you an email with those documents but they never did it. PLEASE DONT GO HERE

Worst experience! My flight was delayed, I could not get a hold of them- ever. Not only did they not answer the phone, they never called me back. The hours as per their message indicated that they would be closed when I landed. I rented elsewhere. Guess who they responded to? My bank when I reversed the charges. 6 months later, they remain paid as they have been entirely responsive to my bank and I have paid for two rental cars. Beyond aggravated. Stay away at all costs (or you could be paying for two car rentals, one from them and one from a reputable car rental company).

I tried to call both the local and corporate offices to warn them of no notice changes to my flight by Southwest. No answer at either location for more than half an hour after opening at 7 Pacific time (7 Pacific is 10 Eastern, big red flag) at which time my unscheduled layover took off. They gave away a prepaid rental and were very rude upon arrival. I was told to get out of line and come back in 2 hours with no suggestion of an upgrade or any kind of resolution. I reached out to their corporate office for some type of resolution. None offered.

DO NOT RENT HERE. 1 star is too gracious. Absolutely disgusting “customer service”. Flight was delayed and they wouldn’t honor our reservation. Now we have to fight to get our money back. Spend a little more so you can actually get a car.

I received excellent customer services from my rep Elijah. Elijah was very knowledgeable and extremely personable with the car rental information and policies at NU Car Rentals. He truly went above and beyond to inform me about not only my car rental agreement but also places to visit during my stay. Elijah is the best and I appreciate the fact NU car rentals has a genuine, knowledgeable staff member like him on the team. Thank you again Elijah for your assistance !

DO NOT RENT FROM HERE. EVER! I made the mistake of making a reservation here through Expedia. I did the pay at the counter and at the time set the pick up for about an hour after my flight had landed. The Airline changed my flight to three hours after my original reserved pick up from Nu. I called NU at the Las Vegas location I was to pick up to explain what had occurred. The location sent me to the Global reservation number. As I had not paid in full I was told they could not guarantee me that my reservation would be held and to call back to the Location and see if this could be changed at the site again. I decide ok maybe the site was confused and I called again to the Las Vegas site.Once connected to another person they sent me again to the Global reservations. That person proceeded to tell me to call back to the Location as there was nothing they could change as I was a pay at the counter reservation. I asked to speak to someone else and nothing they were silent for 45 seconds. Then I asked again. SILENCE again. I apologize that I understood that the person on the other end was not responsible for this but this was beyond my control as well and there had to be something that could be done. AGAIN SILENCE for 60 seconds. I finally had enough and cancelled the reservation and went with a real Rental Car company and will never ever use them. The low price is not worth the headache as I am sure the reservation would be messed up when I showed up with my family and they had given our car away.

Beware of this company. They are deceptive and dont tell you that your reservation is non-refundable. I had to cancel because of COVID and they refused a refund and made no attempts to compensate me. All the other car rental companies will allow cancellations and refunds.

Awful. In this day and age when merchants are normally amenable to unforeseen circumstances their customers may face forcing change of plans, this one company is rigid and unreasonable. Im in dispute with my credit card company and my third party agent to get a refund for a trip I had to cancel due to medical/Covid related issues. They dont care and are terrible. DONT USE THEM.

This is a review of NU Car Rentals branch in Phoenix. It is not located at the airports car rental center: to get there after landing one has to take a shuttle to the car rental center, from there a lift to the P (parking level) and from there a shuttle to the NU Car Rentals. The line of people waiting for the shuttle was quite long for both of the shuttles. Consequently, it took us about 40 minutes to get to the NU place. Getting the car was a quite fast process as we had booked our car online, incl. the insurance. We chose this company because their renting rate was exceptionally low: about $20 per day with unlimited mileage. Then we faced a night mare as our airline had changed our flight departure so unfortunately that we could return the rented car on the same day as agreed with the NU rental, however, only after office hours at around 8 pm. It was an ordeal to reach the customer service by phone during their office hours: they provide only an 800 number (1-800-55-NUCAR); every time we were told that our call would be answered in about 5 minutes, the connection broke and we had to start the call again. This we did 8 times! Finally, we reached them and were told were to drop off the car and the key. AND we were told that we would be charged one day more plus some fees: the total for this was $70 which we did not think was fair given that the daily charge was $20 and that we returned the car on the same day but some hours later than previously agreed AND that it was not our fault. We will never rent a car from this company again.
