Started in May with my family, and we are all loving it. Great friendly environment that doesn’t lack discipline. One of the very few places we’ve been that make sure you are performing correctly without making you feel bad about anything. All around great experiences and definitely plan on staying!!!!

I highly recommend this school, especially if you are interested in a martial art, but aren’t sure where to start. We learn discipline and commitment along with getting a great workout. When you practice with Master David, you are constantly challenged, but are also part of the family.

My wife and daughter took lessons from Master David for some time. The classes were well run and relatable to all ages. Master David is clearly knowledgeable on the techniques he is teaching. I would highly recommend to all ages and ability levels.

Great family atmosphere, lots of supportive folks! I cant speak highly enough about my experience here. I had no experience with any kind of martial arts when I first started and Master David was very patient with me to help me learn.

I have been training here for over 2 years and am very pleased at the extensive training program, the friendly environment, and the knowledge of Kung-Fu Master David. You will be constantly challenged to push yourself and you would not be disappointed at how far you can go if you stick to it

My daughter was very shy and struggled with anxiety. I was looking for something to help her to gain some confidence, I found out in conversation with master David that he was a Kung fu teacher and that he had some ladies in his classes . I talked my son into going with my daughter for the first month . Fast forward about 3 years and now we have a young confident 15 year old black belt whos brother got as hooked on kung fu as she is and is about to take his black belt test this month. We also have me, their mum, in the best shape of my life and a green belt. We have found in this school a sweet and loving family, a multi generational group that is a joy to spend time with. Master David is a kind hearted, incredibly skilled martial artist who amazes again and again with his depth of knowledge of his art and his ability to convey it to his students.

I have really enjoyed my involvement with Tusco Shoalin Kung Fu and Tai Chi. As my learning has progressed, I am happy I chose to participate in both the Kung Fu and Tai Chi programs. I have found a number of times where what I’ve learned in one class has helped me in the other. Master David provides great instruction and really cares about the development of all the students.

Several years back, Master David approached me and my wife Ashley about whether we were interested in learning Kung Fu. He was about to open a new school, and he was looking for a few students to help things get off the ground. I had about six years experience in Karate; for Ashley it was a completely new experience. I agreed to join if I could talk Ashley into coming on board with me to do it as a couple, and she gave me a skeptical look, but agreed anyways. So, weve been with David since the beginning, and help him out with classes from time to time.Dont be fooled by Davids Clark Kent exterior, or unassuming, mild-mannered midwestern demeanor. Underneath that is a 5th degree master with 20 years experience in martial arts, an encyclopedic knowledge of dozens upon dozens of forms, and a truly impressive level of competence in hand-to-hand combat techniques. And hes a genuinely nice guy, very supportive and encouraging. The primary difference Ive seen between my prior martial arts training and learning Kung Fu with Master David, is the depth of the material. In other martial arts, you might learn a few dozen blocks, punches, and kicks, and a dozen katas or forms, and then repeatedly drill that repertoire until it becomes second nature. In Kung Fu, there is an incredible depth to the material. Multiple fighting styles, each with their own unique techniques. Enough forms to learn to last an entire lifetime, with something new to teach you. Extremely advanced pressure point and joint manipulation techniques. If my karate training was elementary or high school level, these are college level building up towards PhD level courses, post-Black Belt.Theres a pretty fair mix of ages, perhaps 30% children and adolescents, 30% teens, and 40% adults, which is a mix you dont often see since so many classes focus exclusively on younger ages. There are also a lot of families who tend to take the classes together, father/son, mother/daughter, sister/sister, which adds a nice dynamic as well. If youre looking for a good martial arts experience in T-County, highly recommend it.

I have been practicing Kung Fu (external) and Tai Chi (internal) at Tusc Shaolin-Do Kung Fu for a couple years now. Master David is very knowledgeable, and strives to make all students reach their full potential. For those hesitant, the curriculum is structured very well throughout the journey towards black belt. I recommend taking the Tai Chi classes, followed by the Kung Fu classes to fully embrace, and appreciate this discipline of martial arts. The Tai Chi taught, goes beyond simplistic postures and poses, and you learn many forms, and their applications. Not only can these lessons be used in self defense, but also for keeping the body in check. This, along with light stretching, and meditation techniques are what you can expect to gain from the Tai Chi classes. The Kung Fu classes go a bit further in the stretching, and conditioning. Youll learn sparring techniques, katas and forms, weapons, self respect, and discipline.Make yourself healthier, stronger, and more confident. Check out Tusc Shaolin-Do Kung Fu!
