The staff were super friendly and I wish them well! My manicure is just fine. I’m just a little frustrated about the edges - you can see the tip of my nail peeking out under the polish, and my technician also painted my nails very far away from my cuticle. Its an odd look and kind of makes the nails look grown out and older than they are, which disappointed me. Wish they didn’t do that but apart from that it was a good experience.

The selection of polishes and the condition of the polishes leaves much to be desired but thanks to the sweet woman who did my mani Pedi it was a good experience.

When I decided to reach out to the owner to express my disappointment she neglected to respond. All of this and she charged almost $300.00 and accepted a large tip from my sister.

Everyone that works here is so nice and professional. I wanted to go short like a pixie and I have curly hair. So I was nervous. But my stylist, Ann, made me feel really comfortable, she got me some water, we chatted, and we really discussed exactly what I wanted. She explained everything and it came out perfect!Edit: September 2019: I went back and got another haircut from Lisa and I love it!!! Even shorter this time :)

I wish I could write a good review I traveled over an hour and gave a detailed description over the phone of my hair type and the service I wanted provided. I was charged 400 dollars for spotty and brassy roots. I understand that the service took a long time but you would hope that after paying that much money you wouldn’t be rushed out the door after the service was finished with many mistakes and foil marks ..... I don’t mind paying for a stylists time but please make sure the price of the service matches the quality given, I also wish I could say tony would be a good stylist for someone looking for simple highlight and cut BUT the more I look at my hair the CRAZIER these foul lines areIf you don’t know what foil lines are, imagine tiger stripes on your scalp

Once again Alex performed her magic. My hair was overgrown thick and a mess. Her scissors go to work and I feel like a new man. Plus Charlie and Lucy sit on me during my time. Great shop, better stylists and the best owner! All in a really inviting environment!

I have followed my stylist, Renee, for over 20 years, and I am so happy that she has moved to Capture. Got a blowout for a wedding on a whim at Capture Salon. Tammy was my stylist, she was so lovely and knowledgeable and made a great suggestion on what to do with my hair. It looks awesome! She was also very sweet. Would 100% come back next time I’m in New Haven.

She spent a lot of time with me talking about various options that would work with my type of hair and my ability to style it--I am very low maintenance type of woman. The result is a very cute, modern short cut that I love. Alex is the best! It is a treat to go to Capture Salon.

Very comfortable and stylish salon. The coffee, teas and snacks make you feel very at home and cared for while youre there. Not uncomfortably crowded like some other salons. Great products for sale as well. But, most importantly, youve now gotten one of New Havens best stylists on staff - Vanessa! Im so happy with my entire experience at Capture.

I had an appointment with stylist Hector Cruz this past Saturday. Hector has styled my hair for quite awhile now and when he relocated to New Haven from Willimantic I knew my only option was to follow him to the extent that I could. The salon was like nothing Ive seen or experienced before. It is definitely first class all the way! From the moment you enter the building to the moment you leave its an experience in excellence. The salon is clean, up beat, classy, and relaxing with its architectural details. There is no way you can leave there and not feel pampered. The staff is professional but not stuffy. Its a very friendly atmosphere. I am sure to return as Ive already booked my next appointment, yup, with Hector Cruz. In closing, Hector styled and colored my hair. Both of which has received rave reviews from my friends and coworkers. Thank you Hector for drawing me to this fabulous place.

Capture, in its gorgeous and immaculate historic bank building, is an excellent salon experience. I was treated with courtesy and professionalism by all members of staff. Jenna gave me an excellent consultation, asking all the right questions. She took care with my hair and it turned out beautifully both in color and cut, especially considering how much I had neglected it. I was pleased with the whole experience.

The salon is luxurious and incredibly convenient for me (my office is on the top floor of the building). My go-to stylist is Hector for hair and makeup. I always leave feeling amazing! About 2 days after my last appointment, I was on a plane in Seattle and the woman next to me said, Ive been staring at your hair the entire flight, your highlights are beautiful! About 2 weeks after that I was in Dunkin Donuts grabbing a coffee and the gal behind the counter said, Your hair is gorgeous! Thanks Hector and everyone at Capture for such beautiful hair and great experiences at your salon!

For the last couple of months, Hector has taken care of my hair. I must say that he is very good at his job; very professional, creative, and understanding. I didnt really have to explain exactly what I want. I just had to say if I wanted a haircut or coloring. The rest he decided himself and I was always satisfied with his choices. These characteristics will keep me going to this salon because I know that I will always get a great results. I feel like he is my hair-healer :) Also, this made my visits to Capture Salon into very helpful and enjoyable experiences :D

I walked in Capture salon looking for information on setting an appointment and gift certificates. I was greeted by a wonderful lady at the front desk named Leah and she helped me put together an assortment of products for my wife. She was informative and I left feeling confident in the products she picked out! I will be back again!

I absolutely love this salon. First of all the facility is immaculate! It has such a tasteful and soothing design. I enjoy watching the beta fish swim in their bowls while my hair is being cut, and I love that the stylists always offer water of coffee before we get started. I see Jenna and she is phenomenal! She takes the time to get to know me as a person, and she has a passion for what she does. I completely trust her to cut and style my hair perfectly every time. I also was very impressed when I learned from her that Capture Salon does monthly workshops for their employees where someone is brought in to share a new skill/technique to add to the skill set of the already very experienced staff. Overall I have loved my experience at this salon, and I love Jennas work and passion. The 10% student discount is certainly a perk!

I had a hair appointment with Anne. I didnt really know what I was looking for. Just knew I wanted darker but still wanted to be a blonde and wanted my roots gone. She knew exactly what to do and did an amazing job! And was so nice and funny. I have a ton of hair. 2 bowls of color and a she finished a pack of foils with me and this place is the first place Ive found that wont break your bank account as well. Im use to paying over $200 everywhere I go and the cost here was just a little over $100. I will be going back! This place is amazing!

Capture Salon is the best, hands down. The salon itself is beautiful & captivating, or should I say capturing? I went to this salon on a whim a few years ago and have been seeing Renee ever since - she will take all my mumbling thoughts about what Im thinking and shell just whip it into a masterpiece. I actually did go to another hair stylist ONCE and I went running and crying back to Renee, knowing Id never be so stupid again! Amazing and experienced staff!

The salon itself is a beautiful place. Its got everything luxurious and gorgeous that you can imagine.That being said, the service couldve honestly been better. Im writing this review a few years after I got my hair done there because i actually have a phone that has internet service now.It was my high school graduation treat for myself and i wanted red hair. Seems simply enough. My hair was very light brown and all I needed was a red glaze or something semi permanent because I didnt want it red forever.I dont recall the stylists name, but she was very aggressive. She didnt seem to want to listen to me at all as if I had no clue what to do with my hair or what it needed or what j wanted. The day of my service, she was booked with another client which she reminded me of several times. She did a sort of hair cut on me, barely listening to what I wanted, and then gave me a red glaze. When it came to blow drying, her other client had arrived early and she decided to rush me as much as she could and left to manage her other client.I left the salon with half blow dried/diffused hair that was half wet and half frizzy and sticking up and puffy every which way. I paid close to 230$ for the whole service. I could not be more disappointed.I ended up having to do my own hair for my graduation the same day, and I was very angry and frustrated that j paid so much for nothing. The glaze lasted maybe two weeks in my hair. (I only wash my hair once a week, for reference).Now I go to another salon in New Haven and I pay less than 100$ for a great haircut, shampoo, condition, and amazing blowdry with a stylist that doesnt mind spending a little extra time with me. She takes her time and gives me what I want/need every time and nails it like nothing else.Needless to say, I wish the service here matched the look. It would up their game so much. I picked this place years ago based off the reviews and regret it to this day.

I live about an hour away from New Haven, so it was a trek getting to Capture for me. I was in the area to visit Ikea, and decided to get my hair done the same day. I was very pleased and impressed with the service at Capture. My stylist was Hector, and he really knew what he was doing. He listened to what I wanted and gave me one of my favorite haircuts Ive ever gotten. My mom got her hair done with me the same day. Her stylist was Vanessa, who she liked a lot. Her hair also looks great. I would definitely recommend Capture. The atmosphere was inviting and the service is excellent!

I was recently looking for a new salon to get my haircut in downtown New Haven. Capture Salon was just what I was looking for. All the employees are friendly and nice. The salon is spotless and inviting. I now have gone back a second time and am just as happy as I was after my first haircut. I have had more people recently asking me what was I doing differently with my hair. My response was a new salon. I have recommend Caputre Salon to my co-workers and family. The convenience and experience are great!

I looooooooove this place!!!!! I went in there with awful and damaged hair and they completed the impossible. I will never go anywhere else. My wedding is in May and I will be going to them, without a doubt. Also, they have the cutest little dog in there that loves to cuddle!!

Hairstylist ran out of time during my scheduled appointment booted me out of the chair before finishing her services, charged me considerably more than what we agreed on during our consultation and all over did a very mediocre job on what few things she did do to my hair. I regret choosing this salon based off the good reviews Ive read.

Extremely disappointed with my manicure. Took my mom for mothers day. It turned out terrible. The girl doing it, did such a rush job. Spent a lot of money, however only one person to do everything. Mom and I had to stay there for hours. Totally not worth it.

This salon gives off the impression of a high class salon but the reality is that if you come off even slightly unhappy, you are turned away and somehow made to be the bad guy. The receptionist implied that I was too trashy for their salon. That is totally innapropriate customer service. I believe there are few bad reviews for this salon because they threaten legal action whenever someone is unhappy with their service.Side note: Tony is a very good hair stylist and did do an amazing job. I just wasnt happy with the way the color came out and the way the salon lied to protect their interests so they would not have to fix it.In addition, my pedicure here was very well done. Thank you for that.

The other day my Mother came for the first time to Capture Salon. She was on the look for a wig due to her having Breast Cancer. She never looked for a wig before but when the consultant Hector put on her first wig she ever tried she loved it . She said it was destiny that brought her here. Hector was very supported and gave her wonderful advise, when he said he was a Cancer Survivor my mother had tears and started crying he gave her hope for a better future. Alex, the owner of Capture Salon, has been taking care of my hair for almost 20 years! This salon she has put together is a beautiful place to go. She, of course is #1, but in spending time there I can see that all the people there love what they are doing.They have it all - hair, makeup, manis, pedis and more.

My wife likes it - I have no hair and no idea if it is good or not :P

This place is gorgeous! They opened recently but did a bang up job fixing up the place. First class!I went around 5pm on a Thursday and parking wasnt too bad. Thats the only negative I found, if you consider that a negative - limited parking.I walked in with extra-long scraggily hair. I had serious split ends going on. Between school and work I hadnt had a haircut in over 2 years. I was nervous to lose length but I also knew it would just get worse if I didnt get all the split ends off now (some split almost halfway up the shaft)!Hector Cruz confirmed this for me and made me feel comfortable with it. He did a FANTASTIC job. My hair went from long, thick, wavy, frizzy and split to medium-long and totally healthy. He used a PH balancer which did wonders.Is this an upscale place? Totally. But you get what you pay for and honestly, I thought it was a great value (thats coming from a girl who has gone to SuperCuts all her life).Everyone was super friendly and I felt really comfortable, which was surprising because I usually feel out of place in upscale places.Bonus: Hector works with cancer patients! That was really awesome to me. I want to grow out my hair to donate to Pantene Beautiful Lengths now! If you want to support a great cause like that this is totally the place to go.I know this probably sounded like an advertisement (I swear its not - Im a teacher, haha) but I will definitely be going here from now on (and more often than once every 2 years)!
