We had so much fun, a slow float down a extraordinarily beautiful river, canopied with lush trees and greenery. Highly recommend the experience. Our group had 6 y/o to 60 year old people - everyone had fun. The fee was $25 for tube and ride back OR $20 for just the ride. Tubes were ok, staff was very nice - ride back was quick and easy, they were patiently waiting for us at the end!

Best float in Texas. At the base of historic town of Gruene, these outfitters will hook it up. Professional, knowledgeable and patient, there is nothing more important than getting you set up so you dont have to do anything but have fun...Different levels for all ages. It was so so many people there. The water was nice and cool that you didnt even realize that it was hot outside. This was my first time going there and even tubing.I would like to go back and do it again.

The place was super fun although my tube had a hole so we couldnt use it.. But..We called well before coming to see how to cancel one of our Floats, since one person couldnt make it. (Knowing wed have to at least pay the 25% percent fee) the lady says, since its only one float DONT cancel it now. Cancel it when you arrive and well give you a FULL refund. So when we arrive, the same lady denies the entire conversation and refuses to give us our money back and is rude about it. Offered us a credit for the future (still didnt give it to us) but why would I come back 🤷‍♀️.

Always enjoy the river trip. Know what you want to do when you float. How long you want to float. You can go up river or put in there. I recommend going up river. If you are with a group, bring rope or something to connect you but you need to be able to disconnect easily when you go over shallow spots and at the end. You dont want to be tied in a big group at the end. There are a few other tube rental places that allow you to put in a diff places. Check out the river map, figure out what part you want to go through and how long you want to float.

Pick your time the 2 hour or 4 hour either way both are fun. Staff is super friendly and really helpful. Changed our destination last min due to one not floating tubes at the moment and the staff made it a breeze.One thing we loved, floating in the rain! Highly recommend that one for anyone to try.

Rocking River is like a natural water park for adults with many options to have a good time. They have place to eat and other amenities.

This place is set up for well for large crowds. They have a large grass turf area for friends and family to wait while you get tickets. There is also a roughly 50’ long cooling canopy that’s mists water on you to keep you cool, until you hit the river. The tubes are fairly durable. I saw 5 deflated tubes on the river banks, but that is a small number when you have over a 1,000 people out there in a day. My only suggestion is to add more rope to the cooler tubes, so you can tie them down. We almost lost ours a couple times when we went over the rapids. Overall, it was relaxing and it is a good place to catch up with distant friends and family.

Under new owners.Theyve made the spot in Gruene better but I think theyre afraid to let people float in toobs from first crossing (the best float on the Guadalupe.)Note to the new owners...Next summer you better let us FLOAT from first crossing or Ill take our group to San Marcos or to the Frio river.Youre ruining the Guad!Food for thought.

Way pricier than i remember but i can see where all the money is going (or went). All the renovations look great! Really classed the place up. Great service and friendly attendants.

This is the perfect Go-To -Summer Vacation Place. Great place to rent the river floats and you can get the life vest at no extra cost. Pack your snack bag full of foodies an sandwiches. Eat and Drink while you enjoy the relaxing scenery. Great customer service. You guys need to go float the Guadalupe River. We had a Blast!!!

Good place. More expensive than other float trips Ive been on, but very organized and not some kind of back woods tubing place where its all cash and you ride an 1970s short bus to a random hole in the river. Highly recommend

Rockin R River Rides is great. The only thing Id suggest is adding some signage to let people aware of what line they were in. I asked a coupe of people if I was in a line to rent a raft and no one could tell me. Rockin R River Rides definitely has a good process though. The wait wasnt bad at all and it was crowded. Ill be back!

This place is okay if you are willing to settle for less. It is $30 per person for a whopping two-hour float, the tubes are low quality, and there was a lot of trash in the river. If you are looking for a better time, Texas tubes in San Marcos is not that far away. $25 for a 4-Hour float, cup holders in all of the tubes oh, and they give you River style trash bags to help keep the river clean

Great place for rafting. A 25 qt cooler will fit their floats perfectly. Bring your own line to tie floats together.

Tube went flat a few minutes into the float. I was in no mans land and sunk....10$ for parking was also a turnoff. Made us get off the river after 2 hours even tho we paid for 5.

Excellent July Day on the river. Staff was super helpful and friendly. We got in and out of the river with no issues at all. I highly recommend this tubing company. We used them 20 yrs ago on our first river trip when their site was much smaller, the new facility is huge with plenty of parking.

We booked a trip in 2020, and the day that Gov. Abbott shut down the river businesses because of Covid was going to be that day. We finally made it out. We took the 4 hour float. The river was a little slow today, but it was nice. We had great cloud cover and good temps. The staff was courteous and kind. Answered our questions and offered advice.

Great way to cool off in TX summer heat. Gruene is a cool tourist spot. Dance hall, food overlooking river and several wine spots.

Lovely place. Folks are lovely and trips are well organized and perfectly timed! Visitors need to think of anything - all is thought through from parking and check in process to picks ups and showers. Clean bathrooms are a bonus too (though we went there when there were barely 20 visitors or so)For 2021 season they just installed big “patio” with spaced out tables, seating area, lights and stage with live music. No need to run on the other side of the bridge for food and drink anymore. All there on the spot.Can rent the tubes, as well as kayaks on site or bring your own. Can also leave car keys at the check in.Can choose between 2 or 4 hour trips

Paid for a 4hour trip. Almost $100 bucks. Was never told that shuttles stop after 8 and also the ppl knowing Im paying for a 4 hour trip didnt warn me. Was forced to stop at 2 hours because the shuttle wouldnt come get me if I kept going and was told my car would be towed. Sucks. Be going to that place since I was 21 but I think it will be my last. Be aware of what time you get there because they wont warn or tell you. They just take the money.

Love love love this float!!! I also love that they dont allow disposables so that you cant trash the river. So definitely make sure you bring your own reusable bottles 💜

Being from Austin I have always gone to Rockin R for tube rentals and to float. I havent been tubing in a while, at least 5 years, and now after going back I will never go again to Rockin R.I dont know if it was just this weekend but it seems like it must be a reoccurring event that they dont have enough staff to support the long lines. We got out very early in order to avoid the big crowds but still had to wait about an hour and a half for our shuttle to take us upriver and then had to wait over an hour for our shuttle back once we were done floating and tired.While we were waiting an hour and a half for our shuttle to take us upriver, the line was so long that it exceeded the canopy that provided shade for the people waiting. So for at least an hour and 15 minutes of the hour and a half we were standing out in direct sunlight.Parking was a nightmare as well. It seemed like nobody working there knew where to direct us to go and it took a half hour just to park.On top of it all, it was $150 to rent one tube with a bottom and get one shuttle ride to the float start and one shuttle ride back for six people once we finished.Whatever you do try to float whichever float allows you to not have to take two shuttles!! The shuttle wait time is rough!

Great place to relax just be sure you can swim and always pay attention to the route they explain to you when you arrive. The rapids are rough so be sure to secure yourself and your belongings and also pay attention because you can miss your exit if you don’t pay attention. The only thing I would say is they need to pin a sign to a tree before you get to the first exit (“the beach” is what they call it)it’s not even much of a “beach” area so be careful because our group was confused and almost exit at a residential exit way before the actual exit.

He frequented this place very often. because I loved the place and the place, but the policies changed and I am disappointed with the company. I do not recommend it. ask well about the 3 and 6 hour tours.

Rockin R Gruene has to be one of the most organized river outfits. July 4th weekend....and at 11am...it was of course jam packed....but it was not a problem.Great flow, and super organized!!!!Highly recommend....the only thing I would have changed would have been getting a bottom on my float.Would absolutely return!!!

Loved the float trip, but for as much as we paid for this service they could train these kids a little better. The service was rude and incompetent. If the job were not so simple itd have been so much more disappointing and worth less stars. But the truth is the rest of the day is worth the effort of dealing with these clowns.

Today we went to New Braunfels, and had a blast! Rockin R River Rides was awesome! Customer service was outstanding!

Love Rockin R. Just got back from the Guadalupe and the Comal. But the Guadalupe had a whole lot of moss this time and the water was not what we were expecting. Way too low for all the rain we have had.

A little pricey, but I get it. Very convenient. Worth going to them if you want to float and rollout. Went on a Saturday around 4pm and walked right to water with tube in hand.

Had a great day on the river 4 hour trip and staff they we excellent at what they do in all areas we will be back.

Would give 5 stars, but still not sure why you dont check in at the big, nice building (Gift shop).

Rocking R looks great, nice people, clean, improvemed. But i was shocked they had only one inflator for those bringing their own tubes. Seriously? Thats a sure recipe to make this a very unpleasant and unsatisfying experience for your more experienced customers. Other outfitters in the area have 5 inflators for this purpose. Because they get it. It seems thoughtless or inconsiderate. When youve invested so much into fixing up the place, why would you leave this all important detail unaddressed? I hope you remedy this quickly.

If you are looking for a fun weekend, just to get out of town this is definitely a place to go. Its a gorgeous place to take family and friends ❤

Not fond of the organization and management of this place. We went on memorial day weekend and there was no coordination or any signage giving instructions to customers who are preparing to tube the Guadalupe. Everyone just does their own thing and somehow everything works out. The river itself is not bad, we came on a bad day when the storms had created a bad debris flow which is out of their control. Its a long float, can be up to 4 hours so its a good long time. Price wise they are about the same as others on the area.

This place has been in business since I was going there with my parents and theyre still going strong.

The people are nice but the wait times are really long. Not the “best” river to float in Texas. Too many people on the river, overcrowded and overrated. Way too many rocks and you actually have to get out of your tube in some places due to shallow water and rocks.

What a fantastic day! Great place to float from. Super convenient. Did the longer float and luckily had perfect weather. Food trucks and beer in the courtyard, super plus. Everyone was so kind and helpful. Shoutout to Leah!!!!! She was our shuttle driver. She went above and beyond for our group! Gonna purchase the season pass! 🤩

Great costumer service. We went on a week day to avoid crowds, and loved the attention. The tubes have OK quality.

We arrived Saturday morning at 9am. Everything was clear not crowded. We took the long tubing, we stopped mid way at the first stop and had our lunch. Afterwards we got to out last exit with help with the staff driving us back to our location. Restroom and changing rooms were a bit dirty not too bad. I just wished they had wash room inside the womens changing areas. Driving back to Houston icky wasnt in my plan. Lol. This river was so peaceful! We had a great experience. Oh they also had a airpump for your own tubes too!! They worked awesome!

Rode the four hour twice and loved it I do suggest getting the bottom on the days when its lower though had a blast cant wait to come back!!

We left our cooler due to rushing because a storm came. My 10 year old Daughters insulin was in the cooler. We called and they could care less about helping us.

Standard tubing company, have a nice little food truck now and drinking area.Only reason a 4 instead of 5 is because they are significantly high in price. $25+ taxes if renting a tube, $20+taxes if you’re not.

Friendly staff and good location to rent floats from with shuttle service. Prices are high compared to others in the area, but the tubes are nicer. They have rubber covers for the air nozzles so you dont scratch your thighs

Over all, good experience. Plenty of parking, good picnic tables. The worst was the wait in line to get to the river. Way to long and no shade for customers while waiting in the blistering sun, but over all good experience. I suggest getting there when the gate opens and have your ticket pre bought.

First time rafting and we put our equipment through hell. Still solid and sturdy at the end. 10/10 would raft again

Just had a teenaged driver for Rockin R try to squeeze between me and another car at the light . He was coming out of the gas station and there was literally three feet between me and the car in front of me. When they light turned green he tried to hit us and flipped us off for not letting him squeeze between us. He had another young teenager with him. If this is the kind of people that they have working for them I dont think I would risk my life riding back with my tube from the pick up point. Tried to call several times to report the incident but they dont pick up their phones.

I took my fiance for her first river trip yesterday and we decided to go with rockin R because of their reputation. They were super nice and laid back so we were excited. Then the trouble started. They explained that there were 5 dangerous spots to look out for, which is a lot. They asked if we wanted the 2 or 4 hour trip so we said 4 hours because we wanted to relax on the river awhile. What they neglected to tell us was that the extra 2 hours was all with no current. We were raw, sore, and unhappy after having to paddle furiously for the entire 2 hours. I have burns on both arms because of it. The person that picked us up was a sweetheart and said that they shouldve explained that point to us when we said we wanted the 4 hour float. So I wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt, but after that I was understandably upset. I will not be going back to them next time.

Everyone is nice, it was fun, but you could really hurt yourself on the rocks.

Last day of warm weather and it was the perfect day to be on the river! We cant wait to go tubing again next year when their back open.

Great river trip. The weather prevented us from tubing when we had planned. This outfiter defintely takes its patrons safety into consideration. Storms ended up clearing out and it was one of the most peaceful floats Ive experienced. The transport was ready and waiting for us at the pick up point. Evryone was kind and curteous, which made for a great experience. Highly recommend.

Unorganized, rude staff. we were at the New Gruene location this weekend, granted, it was busy being Memorial day weekend. when we arrived there was a nice man trying to keep the lines moving and he was doing a good job. they are pricier than most river outfitters at 25 plus tax for every tube INCLUDING every single cooler tube for a shorter ride (go up stream for a longer ride) AND10 bucks to park!! Now, the reason for the 1 star review. when we got off the river we went to get our license from the booth. disaster. lines were long. and desperate employees scurried around looking thru GIANT stacks of yellow tickets. we gave the last name of the reservation and they said no, they didnt have anything under that name. the stick figure blonde with long hair was beyond rude and thats me being nice. she said she couldnt help us because we apparently didnt know what we were looking for. upon my insistence she did finally look again and found them but not the ticket. it was frustrating and hard for me to be patient when she was a complete snot. needless to say i will not return there. Ill go back to Mountain Breeze where they have long rides, great prices and friendly people. day 2 on the river was so much better than day 1! plus a lot less expensive! 20 ea for tubes per person, 10 for cooler tubes, free parking. organized, friendly. we were on the river in minutes. at Rockin R we waited for shuttle for minimum of 15 mins. save your money and the day and just dont.

Certainly the biggest option for tubing this section of the Guadalupe/Comal rivers however their professionalism and credibility are severely lacking for what should be the biggest river brand in the area. Their staff isn’t very knowledgeable about the river and certainly not very helpful. I’m not sure whether it’s just hard to staff out there or if they just don’t really know how to provide adequate customer focus/expertise for the river-probably a combination of both. They have a solid operational set up/advantage over any competitors but eventually they’ll have to raise their standards and practices. They could really benefit from third party consulting/organizational review. Looking forward to seeing them grow into a leader on the river.

Really fun we went the full time and got stuck in a few spots because of the small current and in the beginning of the trip 9n the first rapids make sure tolift your butt up so you dont hit any rocks. It happen to me and it hurts!

The guy picking up the ppl on the shuttles had the absolute worst customer service. We missed the exit to get off and we got literally yelled at for making him stay extra time to pick us up. We literally dragged the raft for miles to get to the right place and still he was so rude. Will never be using this company again.

Rockin R is awesome! Super easy to rent tubes and rafts. Was a lot of people the day we went but didnt have to wait long at all. They take your group to the drop off point and then pick you up later and bring you back to your car. Super easy and pricing is very reasonable. Will definitely be back next time were in town.

This is our 3rd time going here. We come to New Braunsfels with our own kayaks, but we rent the raft kayaks with Rock N R everytime. They float better on the rapids and are way easier to get in and out...plus the employees do all the work to make it easy and convenient!!!Their van brings you up the river and you float down for approximately 3 hours. There see sveral mild sets of rapids that are fun and safe for all ages. We enjoy the relaxing river, with our music and drinks (not in a can or disposables!!!) The scenery is so serene and breathtaking. Wildlife, including birds, deer and other animals, roam the area, making the photo ops great. So natural and calm.The workers at RocknR are always friendly and helpful. We never have to wait long at all. The store inside RocknR is awesome, too! Beer on tap, drinks in coolers, really nice summer clothes, and a few other cool things. We will continue making it a part of our trip to float the Guadalupe!

This is a locals only tube adventure. Rock’in River in Gruene is one of the best tour companies for tubing the Guadalupe River. Take the bus ride up river (called an Out-of-Town) trip. There are new regulations on the river and the out-of-town ride is best. Also, tubing all day in the sun + beverages can make you tired at the end of the day, which makes the bus ride extra long at the end of day. Go up river! One thing to note, take an extra tube for your gear, lunch, beverages & speakers. Bring a waterproof bag as everything will get wet on the river. Take squirt guns too b/c the campers are waiting for you at the bottom. Finally, be safe on the river and pack out all your trash. Let’s protect this fun and beautiful adventure.

Customer service was good. Leaving my car keys and my license to rent 3 regular innertubes for 98.00 and float down a dirty river was bad for 2 hours was bad. There are snakes and turtles.

The staff was super nice. We love going down the river. I have not done this since college year. We spent about 4 hours down the river. Some part of the river was very slow. Over all, we love it. Checkout Groupon before you go, they usually have it on sale per person.
