I’ve been a member for years, and I especially love the tennis activities. The gym itself is alright. The staff is usually nice, though some of the personal trainers and front desk workers are simply awful. I also think that the tennis courts are overpriced for members, and have had numerous negative experiences with getting kicked off of courts even after paying. Occasionally, staff is extra rude to children. Overall, this is a good facility, but one that definitely needs improvement. I would recommend that staff behave more kindly to regular members.
Wonderful gym, and the pool area is truly spectacular and worth every penny of my membership dues for that alone. Ive been in a lot of gyms over my life, both as a visitor and a member, and this one is my favorite. They even have an indoor track, which Ive seldom seen except in college gyms. The place is filled with light from the huge windows, parking is plentiful, and the locker rooms are spacious. Its really a great place to work out and I have a hard time coming up with any negatives. Oh sure, the music is at least a generation too young for me (maybe two at times...) But I once heard someone at another gym complaining to the manager about the music, and the response was If youre paying attention to the music, youre not working out hard enough! So, yeah, theres that... :-)
This place is MASSIVE and has everything you would ever need/want in a health club. Open floor plan, lots of equipment and very clean and tidy. Locker space is generous and the locker rooms are well taken care of.
Ive been a member of the Princeton Club for about four years. I work out there often (at least 5 days a week). While I want to provide an overwhelmingly positive review, I cannot do so without being honest in my assessment of the club as a whole. The Good:- For the most part the gym has a nice variety of equipment. This applies to cardio equipment (stair climbers, treadmills, ellipticals, bikes, and even rowing machines), free weights, dumbbells, and fitness equipment (i.e. lat pull down station, abdominal cruncher machine, etc.)-Running Track-Although I dont participate in them, there is a nice selection of fitness classes for folks interested in them-Indoor pool-Outdoor pool is a very nice way to spend a few hours on a hot summer day. It can get very crowded, very quickly, but that is to be expected when you offer something so nice.-Towels and a cleaning spray bottle and cleaning towel are provided to all members who come to the club. I think the spray bottle and cleaning towel should be mandatory (I thought this well before COVID) for those using any weightlifting equipment or cardio machines.-Tennis courts-Basketball courts-Massage guns-Numerous parking spaces-Nice sized lockers with no availability concerns. You can always get a locker.-While I have seen reviews to the contrary, I think it is wonderful that the club opened up relatively early shortly after the COVID pandemic hit. Some folks have voiced issues about people not wearing masks. I think the club put its best foot forward in this case, and should not have to resort to policing mask use. If a member is uncomfortable going to club because of this, I believe they could have paused their membership. I think this was more than fair. The Bad:-The basketball courts can at times be a source of disruption. There have been a few incidents in the past where fights have broken out. Not a good look. Further, I have seen Subway wrappers and garbage left behind on the basketball court area on numerous occasions. It is not always clean.-While there is a nice variety of fitness equipment, a significant portion of them could be upgraded. My estimate is about 25 percent of them. They are old and some break down rather frequently. The prevailing perception from myself and a few other members is that there is much more focus and investment in the outdoor pool area than there is toward equipment on the gym floor.-The dumbbells go from 2.5 lbs to 120 lbs. This is a solid range, however, there is only one set of dumbbells for any weight higher than 50 lbs.-While the fitness classes are a very nice perk, in particular the variety, oftentimes the music and/microphone of the instructor is turned up high enough that you can hear it through your ear buds or headphones on the other side of the club.-Staff courtesy - While much of the staff is courteous and listens to their members, too many are not.-Cleanliness - This is where the club has slipped considerably. it is a daily occurrence to see the following strewn about the club floor: water bottles, towels, cans of energy drinks, used rags, used towels spray bottles, etc. I have seen instances in which a can of Monster Energy Drink was on the same spot on the gym floor for five days before it was disposed of. Another big problem are the small percentage of inconsiderate members who dont rerack their weights, dont put their dumbbells back where they found them, dont put attachments back where the found them, leave plates on the gym floor, etc. (a few examples from just today are attached) Members who respect the club and the other members they share the club with should not have to clean up after the members that dont. This has been brought up to the staff by myself and other members on a few occasions and our ideas (putting up signs, being more present on the club floor to observe this behavior and correct it, and reviewing video tape during problem times to see whos doing this) dont seem to be taken at all seriously by staff.
Prior to Covid, I would have given a 5 star. From the minute you walk in, you’ll see posters and signage everywhere saying masks are mandatory. You’ll hear over the intercom to wear a mask and social distance. Now a huge billboard on the highway with a lady wearing a mask? I couldn’t stop laughing when I saw that. There might be 5 people, max, out of every 100 that wear a mask covering the mouth and nose the entire visit. You’re either all in or not. The club handing out bath towels vs taking them off a big counter doesn’t do a single thing to prevent spreading Covid, wearing a mask does. It is nice there is a designated I mask required workout area. It’s not monitored by the staff, so you have to either ask the desk person to tell people to wear a mask or to pull mask up to cover the nose, or you can tell them yourself. Since there is no mask requirement or enforcement, besides a designated area, why not take ALL the signs down, stop playing the recording and don’t advertise on a huge billboard so it appears people wear masks here. To be honest, the signage overload about masks, then no enforcement, does make me question if other cleaning type things get done that were promoted. Social distancing is not a problem, because the club is so big. I wear a mask my entire visit and wipe down equipment, so I feel 100% comfortable that I’ll be safe.
It is a great place very clean very nice people the staff was friendly
Our family loves the Princeton Club! Our children both take tennis and swim lessons, I participate in group classes and individual training and absolutely love my trainer Tyler. I think all clubs deal with machines being packed or needing a little work yet with the amount of equipment they have it’s easy enough to find an alternative if needed. The club is always nearly clean (I wish others members were a little more tidy). The only thing I wish was that the family locker room had more space. We are in there obviously because we have a lot of stuff because we have our children with, and the lockers and just not big enough.
The Princeton club is a great place to workout and the staff is really nice. The 2 basketball courts are the icing on the cake for me!
Third time there Im hooked. A great mix of every body type, no pressure to be more than you are not. I feel no judgement.
Went to out door pool area early upon opening hours. During afternoon hours the pool area can get crowded.
I really like the people at the Princeton Club.
Going to be halting my membership after this last visit. Definitely NOT worth your money. They lock you into an uncancellable contract, and they charge you 10 DOLLARS to get a new membership card if you lose it!!!! 10 dollars to buy a new card for a membership you’re already paying $60+ dollars a month for!!!! Ridiculous!!!!! Other gyms do NOT do that!
Great for family time also work out nice place late hours for pool
Amazing, clean, and one of the best places to workout, play various sports, and great healthy restaurants to eat as well! They have top of the Art Physical Therapy, Tanning, and treatment for all types of injuries. Just a great vibe, and huuuge parking lot. The location is ideal in betwen Brookfield, Waukesha, Franklin, and Muskego. Only a 15-minute drive from Milwaukee Downtown! Would definitely check this place out, and reallyy affordable as well! Awesome place! 😃!
Normally would rate much higher, but because of their extremely lax policy in regards to masks and social distancing (with the vast majority of people, including staff, not wearing face masks and ignoring social distancing), 1 star, do better, dont go if you dont want to put yourself at risk.
24 hr gym membership is pretty high but still not a bad place
Just joined but so far all.has been great.
Love it if u dont got a membership u live under a rock!!!
The best cost effective option if you are a tennis player, plus they have everything there. Its open 24 hours. I have been a member since it opened.
Great classes, they do a nice job ensuring a healthy and safe environment
Best club in the area. So glad we joined and left that national chain.
Ok, 2nd best place for swimming. Great for tennis.
Excellent all around club.
Fine place, but no options but a 12-month contractual commitment. In these trying times I cant guarantee Ill be able to use the club for 12 months and I cant be alone. Bummer.Update 4/30/21:Just tried to get a guest pass to get out their new equipment before making a commitment to a membership again. Due to COVID they arent allowing any guests in.
Clean, spacious, and as long as you can avoid prime time, there is more than enough Machines or equipment to get your workout in. Indoor and outdoor pool are also nice, clean, and well maintained.
Met with Amber, the Membership Manager, and she is superb! Hands down best in the business! Lol. Great Gym, Kids Center and Pool. BIG ups to the Princeton for everything you guys do! Its much appreciated!
Fantastic place to work out excellent service nice equipment clean facility
Amazing gym! They have everything you would ever need in one building. Very clean, something I always look for. Brian, in member services is kind, patient, and very knowledgeable. I also frequent the Subway inside. Emma is always pleasant and makes good suggestions for when I dont know what to try. Every time I go in there she is working hard, making orders, showing her coworkers the correct way to do things, or cleaning. Her dedication is something you dont see very often in this younger generation. I would recommend the Princeton Club to all my friends and family.
Bery good
I love this gym. We have been to a few different gyms over the years, and none have felt this much like home as the Princeton Club does for us!This is the first gym that my wife and I have actually WANTED to go back to weekly, even daily! We love the child care, the overall gym floor, the walking track, the pools! Everything! We even took our first beginners kickboxing class together, and had the greatest time in it! I also enjoy using the Princeton Club phone app for gym challenges, setting myself goals, and looking up classes.I would highly recommend checking out the Princeton Club if you are searching for your gym home.
Great people here! Some equipment could be upgraded but overall a great place to workout
Where do I begin on this clubs greatness? Literally THE BEST fitness facility I have ever belonged to, which made it all that much harder to leave when I moved out of state this week. But I wanted to be sure to tell all the Wisconsinites out there that this is the gym for you! Ive been a member since 2006 and cant tell you enough positive things about it. Outstanding staff and service, the cleanliness cant be beat, terrific indoor track, basketball and tennis courts, an infinite amount of classes are offered throughout the week, an extraordinary aquatic center, as well as a brand new swimming pool (seasonal) outdoors. And with a schedule like mine, having access 24 hours a day, 7 days a week is fantastically convenient. While there are times throughout the day that are busier than others, Ive never experienced any problems with heavy crowds and/or being able to get on the machines when I want to. An extensive collection of the latest and most advanced equipment. Free child care offered as well, not to mention a Subway restaurant inside! Who could ask for anything more?? Really, the list goes on and on with all great things this club has to offer. To top it all off, Im in the best shape of my life thanks to all the above. The Princeton Club has truly changed my life for the better, and it will definitely do the same for you.
The Princeton Club in New Berlin, WI is gorgeous! Please make sure to ask about possible discounts. It is an excellent deal and there is a wide variety of activities for everyone. Retired Green Bay Packer star Donald Driver visited here for a special event. The basketball and tennis courts are awesome along with the swimming pools with a water slide. There is a great track for running and walking and very good weight and exercise machines. In addition, there is a restaurant and gift shop too. The Princeton club has several locations in Madison and has won multiple awards. When I visit Wisconsin, I look forward to a guess pass here. The Princeton Club is my favorite work-out facility!
Equipment is good, staff is very friendly and the place is very clean.
I live in south Milwaukee so about a 30 minute drive to this facility once I get there around 6ish to get a MEMBERSHIP they told me the person isn’t in to take new members... like what do you guys even do at the desk...
They are back open, and are functioning much like before. I take a star off for having to bring my own towel, and no guests. Not a super big deal, just the principle of the thing.
The outdoor pool is fantastic. They are taking Covid precautions seriously
Great spot, always busy. Diverse areas of work out.
I have physical therapy next door. Love the place.
There are many gyms, but this gym is MINE! With the help of amazing trainers, classes and friends I lost almost 100lbs, however I did gain some of that back.... but it was in MUSCLE. I cant say enough good things about the staff and members. My 2 young kids have been doing tennis lessons since they were 4, and were able to beat me by age 5!.. My husband power lifts here, and my kids also have their own personal trainer to help with balance and core and strength! Come get a day pass, I promise it will turn into a membership, and not just a membership card to store in your wallet .... one you will actually USE!
Love that its 24 hrs. Like the variety of equipment. Disappointed that the pool is not 24 hrs and parking in the early evening is a disaster. As I get used to it and find a better tie, I expect my stars will improve.
Best health club in Southeast Wisconsin
Ive been a member on and off for more than 4 years, as well as I was a member when this club first opened under a different name. The club has a very welcoming atmosphere, nice amenities, and is overall a very good facility. As someone who used to feel gymtimidation, Ive found that for the most part everyone is very welcoming here. Ive previously taken their yoga and TRX classes, and enjoyed them when I used to have time to do so. I hope to be able to get back to those at some point. Thank you for offering a great facility to the community and working with me throughout the years.
People are cool.
This is a great place for just about everything. They have everything you need for whatever work out you would enjoy! They even provide the relax afterwards!
This club is a great gym, the only reason for the 4 stars is some of the cardio equipment is old and run down (the stairs) I go to this gym for drill weekend and 90% of the time I can’t use the equipment I want to use
Family friendly, the pool is clean with plenty of lifeguards, water park is great and never feels overcrowded. Designated adault swim areas. Between sauna, steam room and jacuzzi i feel as though I was at a spa. Really state of the art facility.
Best facility in the area. Expensive, but you get what you pay for. Onsite daycare was very helpful. Pool was nice for families and having lap lanes for those that wanted to swim. Enjoyed our visits there, but moved far enough away that it no longer made sense to keep paying the monthly fee.
If you sign up here, you have to be willing to commit. I moved closer to my work, and my commute here is 45+ minutes depending on traffic, emailed and met with membership services, Never got a response from their general manager. Honestly am really disappointed in this service.
Im pretty surprised at a few of these negative reviews. The Princeton Club is a great place to work out. Clean, very well maintained, state of the art facilities. Nice staff, very accommodating, great location, never overcrowded. Love the racquetball program, run by a state champ. Downgraded my review Jan 2014... seems to be overcrowded lately with the new years resolution members... I suppose that is predictable, but the parking is a bit more difficult. Also, lately the racquetball courts are not kept clean.. always dusty/slippery which can be dangerous. Some disrepair here and there as well.RECOMMENDED
Staff is friendly, club has been renovated and is clean although very busy at times.
Princeton club has basketball courts and racquetball courts. Clean, large, and well staffed. I just wish there was more for the tweens to do independently... kids club doesnt address the needs to the tween age.
I loved the Princeton Club and would like to give it 5 stars for the classes they offer, locations and great amenities but recently I’ve ran into issues with their customer service from behind the scenes that gives them 1 for me. All they seem to care about is money. After moving into a new apartment that has a gym included I contacted Princeton about cancelling my membership and was told I could only do so if I moved more than 40 miles from the nearest club and paying $200. Very disappointed as I now have a gym membership going to waste. It’s just not as convenient as having one in my apartment building. No wonder 63% of gym memberships don’t get used. It’s because they pull this kind of stuff on you. Very disappointed and will not be coming back even after I move to a new location that doesn’t have a gym.
The most disrespectful costumer service I ever had from Kennedy. You expect better costumer service from a private club where people pay good money to relax not to be Racist and disrespectful
Great both inside and outside pool. The swim lanes are always occupied but in summers with the outside pool open this is not even an issue. The exercise equipment is state-of-the-art.
The Princeton Club has everything a family would ever need. No matter the time of day or night I know that working out is always a possibility and take advantage of basketball, classes & equipment to keep my workouts fun and creative. I love that I can drop my children off and they can have fun while I workout. It is a full service facility with towels, pool & everything included. Now they have a great outdoor pool for plenty of family fun. There is nothing you would need extra in the gym you choose and it is all competitively priced to provide a great value for many! Especially if you have a family, the Princeton Club is a no brainer.
Very nice facilities. They have everything
Best workout facility in the area!
I like they are opening for 24 hrs. But some machines& equipments are too old and needed to replace it ( blow dryers in womens locker room are also useless). The most thing I dont like in here is using some equipments and rooms are very limited. For example, we need to give our locker key to front desk to borrow resistance band. And we cant use punching bag freely since the studio is always locked except for class. The free classes are limited and barely changed so that there is no chance to challenge new exercises.
My boyfriend and I joined the Princeton Club in New Berlin a few months ago. I read all the reviews before joining. But a lot of it hasnt been true for me. The gym is clean. The staff is friendly. The TVs on the machines are great, tons of channels (like 80+), and theyve always worked for me. I have tried a lot of the classes. They were fun and challenging. The instructors were helpful and I always felt encouraged to do my best but stay within my limits. I know a lot of reviews complain they cant get out of contracts. But its just that, a contract. I waited until my personal life settled down before joining. I have been a member of a few different clubs in the city and this is by far the best Ive belonged to. Just make sure you can committ to a contract before joining.
I was one of the original members. They do a number of things well, but this club has shockingly bad tennis courts. Inside the ceiling is low,and the courts are too close. Those issues are nothing compared to how bad the outside courts are. Those courts are faded and cracked. Ive never seen courts this bad at a club. You would only expect courts like this from underfounded city courts.
Kids have bunch of swim classes. Seems really chaotic and disorganized. instructor dont show up or call in advance on few occasions. Outside pool in nice addition. They force long term contract and all extra services that not everybody need. It would be nice to have options and not have to pay for daycare if you never use it. Waiting for contract to expire to go elsewhere.
Cannot believe you guys are still charging people while being shut down...you are the ONLY gym in WI still charging the members...
Clean, spacious and newer equipment. Wide variety of classes, personal training available. I food and outdoor pools, child care available while working out. Indoor and outdoor tennis. Racquetball courts. Indoor basketball courts and more.
Staff can sometimes be distracted and non-attentive, otherwise the facility is nice. Could use a refresh on the equipment layout and flow of the highly used weights. Focus on value add services and continue to differentiate and you could see good things!
Just moved away and had to cancel my membership; I cant tell you how much I miss the facility. They just updated their equipment, the kids loved it, its 24 hours. Please open a location near the new Foxconn plant or Amazon!
Great club, lots of things to do. More than just weight machines and treadmills. All kinds of activities, classes, pools, etc to do. Youll never be bored with your workout.
Favorite place to workout. Anyone can work out here - even people that are very incapable of working out and are scared of getting laughed at. The staff are great and everything about this place is truly convenient. If you live anywhere in the Southern Milwaukee area, consider this to be the place you choose to workout!
Love this place, I’m upset somebody stole my wallet from there with my guest passes while I was playing basketball with my daughter. Overall love this facility.
This place is huge, has everything that you could ask for, and they have the best staff around!
Impressive facility! State of the art equipment, & they have some great instructors to help you reach your goals.
Fox news on almost every channel that you are forced to watch while working out. In the locker room they talk all kind of bigotry. ( I edit this review after the response below. The response is 100% inaccurate in terms of the TVs and channels on them. When I wrote the review, in terms of news channels, there were 0 (zero) CNN or MSNBC and 3 FOX TV channels. These are of the 12 TVs downstairs, which are the only TVs available for general view, and they are set by the club, you cannot change it, - I tried several times-. This area covers a large section with all cardio and some more at downstairs. In the response the owner says, there are other TVs you can change the channel if you use other areas etc. The viewing region covers a large portion of all the possible equipment downstairs, so are we supposed to not use that whole region if we dont want to be exposed to this one-sided political nonsense?)
Large, clean club with a friendly, knowledgeable staff. Open 24 hours, which is great... but do wish there were more class time options to choose from.
Very clean and a great variety of equipment. They have plenty of classes and events to keep you trying new things.
Been going for only a couple weeks now and I love it. Always open machines, pools are great and locker rooms are clean.
Good place to have a membership. Could use better equipment in both indoor and outdoor pools.
Best health club in town!
Love the pool, weight room and basketball court. Wish the weight room had platforms for deadlifting and hang clean. Wish it was easier to bring a guest.
This gym is terrible. So, trying to get some use out it, we go every once in a while so my son can swim. We have paid for 3 expensive rounds of swim lessons and my 7 year old still doesnt even dog paddle. The lessons are terrible. Every single time I go there to use something its broken. The sauna hasnt worked well in all the years Ive gone. Every time I call and ask if its working they have no clue and dont even know where to transfer me to to find out. The phone in the ladies locker room has been broken for God knows how long, the railings are all chipped, the equipment is old, the classes are mediocre, the childcare area is filthy (my son gets a cold every time we put him there so we started paying a sitter so we could work out!) and the lap pool is a confusing distance with only a couple lanes. It needs serious updating.I couldnt be more irritated with this club. I want my membership ended! Im not even asking for my money back, just END IT, so I can find a good gym. Thank you.**UPDATE - My membership was terminated.
Pricing is not that bad for all that the gym offers. Smoothie bar is nice as well
Locker rooms are in desperate need of updating. SMALL family locker room. Outdoor pool is great. The Princeton Club - New Berlin charges a premium monthly fee that does not match the condition of the club.
Home away from Home..BEST STAFF BEST HEALTH CLUB IN Wisc
Gym membership prices for single adult male.$70.00 with 12 month contract.$59.00 with 24 month contract.Cancelation of contract is not allowed.Limited use 2 day guest pass may be provided upon request.
Love this place. I workout all the time and its always enjoyable. Nice staff as well
I love it! this place is very clean. Thank you
I loved how it was clean, many variety of things, and there was a 5 dollar bill on the ground too.
Love everything about this gym, great source of all kinds of family athletic activities
Love the club, has everything I would need. Including child care while you work out. A little on the expensive side.
Great place to get a strenuous workout. Also, good place to meet people.
Awesome GYM would love if they open a third location in Wisconsin preferably in Franklin WI across from North Western Mutual
So far so good but the treadmills could be maintained better.
Very good gym with latest equipment.
Fun place to work or swim and have fun. Good for single people or groups.
Great equipment, inside and outside pool are fantastic.
When becoming a member you are given 2 sessions with a personal trainer, so they say. My first appointment, a young lady sat me in a room and flipped through a chart on nutrition. Mind you, I told her I was a nurse and that I just had been to a weight loss clinic where I was informed of all this and then some. Set up another appointment for ???, I told her it was difficult at that time due to my current work schedule, as I suspected, I needed to cancel and asked her to call me back to reschedule, she never did.I feel intimidated watching others work out on machines which I would like to know which I should use, which would be beneficial. I end up paying for a membership in which all I do is use the treadmills, really? I can do that at home!!! I tried Zumba, twice. I introduced myself to the instructor and told her I was new. I wasnt even acknowledged. Id like to do the water Zumba along with other activities, but I feel so out of place!!! I sent a message in their contact us on their web page 2 weeks ago and never got a reply. They wouldnt allow my grandson to use the noodles in the pool, under the supervision of his mother, because its against their policy. So how was this little guy supposed to learn to swim? VERY disappointed and unhappy.
Trying to get a price out of them is like pulling teeth. Called 4 times and no one was able to tell me. Guess they dont need any more members.
Everything is very well maintained and cleaned, equipment is newer, plenty of activities for the whole family.
Dont ever have a problem with this gym because they will not release you of your contract, even if you offer to pay a cancellation fee. Read every single word of your contract before you sign it! Whats worse is that they caused the problem, not me, and they will not man up to their mistake or offer any kind of solution! Worst customer service ever.
Excellent place for families and kids, with good indoor water park for our cold winter months!
