Our hard drive on our server was dying, we were fortunate to bring in the corrupted Hard drive just before it died. I bought a Mac a little over a year ago for app development and my personal life. Not knowing much about this computer, out of nowhere one day, the computer crashed and the data was unrecoverable. I wouldnt recommend this place AT ALL. When I dropped my hard drive off, the guy was really nice and assured me they would call me either later that day or the next day for sure. They didnt call that day or the next day so I had to call them and when I did, it was nothing but pure BS. So a few days later, some lady calls me at 5:27pm and I missed her call. I called back at 5:29pm. A guy answers and says she had just left and he would call her and call me right back. That never happened. The next day, I called back. The lady answers starts telling me that my hard drive was so badly damaged and that I needed to order a part off eBay for $98. Then she says, after I get the part from eBay, it would cost me $1900 for them to fix my hard drive. I think they thrashed my hard drive in hopes of getting more money out of me. I would NEVER pay $1900 for a computer repair especially when I have to order my own part off eBay...UGH

I was completely crushed when I accidentally overwrite my external hard drive existing files when I chose Mac Time Machine. That’s right, when you use Time Machine to backup your MacBook, it erases all your existing files in your external hard drive. Needless to say, this is a very painful lesson as I lost my life memories (photos and videos) and my life long career documents and files. I went to Advanced Data Solutions with a problem that other Comp repair Companies in San Diego could not solve. After being told a few times that my comp issue was not solvable, I was a bit dejected. I went to get pictures and videos from my broken iPhone and they were able to retrieve all of my data back! Not only did they get the job done, they were extremely kind and even took me to Best Buy so I could get a flash drive to put my data on. I was doing some volunteer video work for a non-profit and our external drive with all the footage crashed.I brought it in to ADS on a Thursday and was told that I would get a call back with an estimate within 24 hours (probably Friday morning).No call on Friday.No call on Monday.I call on Tuesday and they say they still need another 24.No call on Wednesday.Finally, a week from original drop-off I get a call saying that the actuator arm is bent and needs to be replaced at a cost of $1,900 (the posted maximum that they will charge for external drive fixes). She then went on to explain that nearly all of this estimate was to buy parts. I was then told that since we are a non-profit, we can offer to pay whatever we can and theyll write off the rest.Weird.After some discussion, I offer $200 knowing that a new drive (complete with 100% of replacement parts needed) could be bought on Amazon and Costco for a little over a $100 and then $100 in labor. They can write off whatever other costs and lower their taxes.I then get an email saying that after a second look the discs are scratched and that the data is unrecoverable.Why this place is shady.1 - They Charge $1,600 for parts to fix something that costs $120 new (parts included). This would be like spending $420,000 on a replacement part for a car that you could buy new for $30,000 (and use for spare parts). Bold faced lie.2 - Wouldnt they see the scratches when looking at the drive the first time? Seems like it would be part of the routine (after all, it is where the data Im paying to recover is stored).They dont call when they say the will even though they know time is of the essence (feel like they are purposely putting your back against a wall).3 - They charge the maximum (because of parts) but are willing to write most of it off for a non-profit. This solidifies the $1,600 in parts as not being true (theyre gonna go accrue hard costs with a purchase and then just write it off). This also makes me wonder about their tax returns.Bottom line - they arent professional (no call backs when promosied), thorough (orignial diagnosis completely wrong - later found scratches) or honest (charging 14X for a part on a drive that costs $100 or so new.Avoid.

I TOOK MY COMPUTER TO A SHOP IVE BEEN GOING TO FOR YEARS WHEN IT STOPPED WORKING . THAT SHOP TOLD ME THEY WERENT ABLE TO RECOVER ANY OF MY DATA BUT THEY RECOMMENDED THAT I TAKE MY COMPUTER TO ADVANCED DATA SOLUTIONS . AND THAT THEY WOULD PROBABLY BE ABLE TO RECOVER MY DATA . LUCKILY THEY WERE ABLE TO . I WILL RECOMMEND THIS PLACE FROM NOW ON TO ALL MY FRIENDS AND FAMILY .

I thought I had lost all my important documents and most importantly a lifetime of memories in pictures when my USB suddenly stopped working. I called ADS and Joe answered the phone. He professionally took my questions and gave me hope that my USB could be fixed. I stopped by put in my order a couple of days later after he explained what was going on. Most importantly, ADS FIXED my malfunctioning USB!. I recovered all my documents and special pictures of my family, I thought I had lost forever. Thank you Joe and ADS team for being so professional, patient and so understanding. You guys will be the only ones I call.
