Honest owner. Skilled mechanics. Sage wisdom. Best auto shop around.
Most recent service with our 1973 Karmann Ghia at Gregs was focused, professional and timely - highly recommend!
Ive been a customer of Gregs for 14 years now. Hes always been fair and upfront with work needed on my vehicles and never left me feeling cheated as some other mechanics Ive encountered.I would highly recommend him to anyone seeking a competent VW and Audi specialist.
My 78 VW bus Penny was having problems while passing thru the Boston area on a 5000 mile roadtrip. Greg got her fix and us back on the road the same day. He even did a little extra work to make my trip more pleasant! Thanks for being such a great help!
I found it hard to believe that a shop which specializes in VWs and says that they are the best in the area has such a poor attitude when it comes to the customer. After spending a tremendous amount of money and hearing excuses after excuse, caught the owner lying. I was able to order a part which he claimed was a rare and not available in the US, while standing outside his shop in 18 mins. Had it at my house in 3 days and put it in myself. My Van will never see their shop again nor will my other VW cars. He maybe great at oil changes and tire rotation. Or maybe the gun store makes more money. His words not mine the older stuff is not my bread and butter... really? Wouldnt all the work going through the shop be bread and butter???This is my perspective and not a terrible experience. I just wont travel as far for an expert.
GREG DOSE 5 STAR WORK ON AUDI. I LIVE IN BOSTON BUT IT WORTH THE DRIVE THERE BECAUSE I GET GREAT WORK AND I DONT HAVE TO PAY THE AUDI DEALER A ARM AND LAG. IT IS REALLY HARD TO FIND SOMEONE THAT CARE ABOUT THE SERVICE THEY DO AND PUTS THERE NAME BEHIND THERE WORK. I RECOMMEND ANYONE THAT HAS A AUDI TO BRING IT TO GREGS AUDI AND VW REPAIR CENTER FOR 5 STAR WORK!!!
Gregs Repair Service is superb, I brought them my Dune Buggy to be worked on and they were very professional . It was a great experience and Greg and his team obviously know their business. Greg and team Thanks for your help, Sean
Unfortunately Greg is not a very honest mechanic. My right headlight went out on my 04 VW Touareg and Greg quoted me a price less than the dealer to repair it. Wanting to save a few bucks, I went with his offer. When it came time to pay, he asked for a price HIGHER than the dealers, about $60 more than he had originally quoted me.Furthermore, he yelled at me about the fact that it took him forever to even get the light back in. I came to find out the reason it took forever is because he broke the headlight casing. This cost me an additional $800 to fix.Greg is dishonest and clearly doesnt know how to work on Touaregs. Id recommend finding someone else.
I have had two separate experiences with this shop - one was great, one was terrible. Both were for the same vehicle - a 2003 Eurovan. Unfortunately, the bad experience far outweighs the good...The good experience was in repairing a fluid leak in the transmission. The van had been repaired twice prior by a local VW dealership, who had misdiagnosed the root cause to a warped pan and gasket. Greg quickly found the true source of the leak to be due to a broken multifunction switch seal, and we were back in business with nary a drop of fluid on the ground. The bad experience was due to an odd electrical problem, and this is where I think Greg and the garage do not have the required capability (at least for this model). The instrument panel began acting very strangely - the transmission indicator went blank, and the tachometer alternated between 0 and the actual RPMs. The vehicle was brought in in October, and they thought that the instrument cluster needed replacement. They allowed me to purchase a remanufactured cluster from an online dealership to save money, but then proceeded to use it only as a swap-in test, which did not correct the problem. They next traced the issue down to the TCU (its 90% likely to be the problem he said), and again I provided a new TCU for them to install. Again, the TCU proved to not be the source of the issue...Greg then stated that the issue was in the ABS controller. At this point, I asked that the car be put back together so that I can take it elsewhere. It was clear he was swapping things out to see what was wrong without truly diagnosing the issue. The entire affair took almost three months (admittedly a few weeks here due to component shipping, but still far too long), and I was left with very expensive components that were purchased but not returnable since the wrapper had been opened. Throughout this entire time I had to continually ask for status updates via email and phone calls - it was obvious that my van was not being actively looked at.As a final insult, the fuse and wiring cover in the driver wheel well was broken when they reinstalled it and now hangs down.
Reliable and priced fair
