DO NOT RENT 96 CALEF AVENUE, NARRAGANSETT!My family and I rented this house because of its beautiful location; directly on the water. The house was last updated in the 1970s. There was so much condensation on the floor, my son kept slipping. Add in the musty smell from mold and if thats not bad enough, BUGS!A representative from Ann OBrien went to the property after I said we were cutting our vacation short because the bugs were the final straw. I was told that there was a screen missing, therefore the bug problem?I was asked about compensation to which I requested one weeks rent credited; we stayed for one week and left before the second week.The owner, we were told, refused compensation of any kind and when I questioned Ann OBriens accountability during all of this, no one got back to me.

My family rented a house on 9 Southwest Road in Narragansett. DON’T DO IT. There is no air conditioning and the place hasn’t been remodeled in a very long time. It hasn’t been cleaned. There’s mold in the upstairs shower. The whole house has a strong mildew smell. The crank out windows don’t work. The screen doors are broken. There are no towel hooks or toilet paper holder in the upstairs bathroom. It’s a very cheap fix. The TV is the size of a computer monitor. Yes, it’s like a Michael Scott TV from The Office. You’re better off looking at other properties in the area using a different realty company or even Airbnb. It doesn’t seem like they care about this property to make it worthwhile for their visitors.

The friendly staff and operations at Ann OBrien Realty is what everyone should expect PERFECT.They helped me coordinate sales and service fast and efficiently on multiple occasions.When looking in the Narragansett area for a place to stay.I highly recommend calling them for all accommodations before anyone else.Thank you for support and service!!!

I like the people that work there. They are courteous and try to be helpful. I rented from them last year and had a couple of issues that were taken care of in a timely manner. However the beach house that I rented this year in Narragansett was a total disapointment. I dont if they inspect the property before renting it or what their policy is. Especially with covid 19 the house should have been thouroughly cleaned. We walked into a house that was musty smelling,dirty, and dingy with beat up old furniture.On the first and second day there my granddaughter and I spent several hours cleaning.Some of the amenities that were listed was not available to me for quite a few days which I felt wasnt fair.I spoke to the rental agency several times about these issues and even emailed photos. They offered to send over their cleaners which I declined because it should have been done before we got there. After everything I told them all that had to offer me was I will let the owner know. I felt I should have received some of my money back that I spent renting it. I received my deposit back but nothing extra. Seriously thinking about renting elsewhere next year.

Not a fan of someone who does not call back when you are in need of help. I call there asking for a 2 week rental. I was in dire need of a place to stay due to the fact that my house was sold. It was a challenge because I have a cat, and I was aware of that. It was also at prime time summer rental season. I called again and spoke to someone different me again explained my situation. I admitted that this would be a challenge but could someone please call me back and let me know. I was told no problem sir I’m sure we can accommodate you.... crickets is all I heard back from.

The girls that answer the phones are always kind and cheery. Rachel is so helpful and understanding, I love hopping on the phone with her she is so pleasant to have conversations with... Even if it is about realty XD

DO NOT GO THROUGH THIS COMPANY WILL DO ANYTHING IN THERE WILL TO TAKE ADVANTAGE OF YOU. TOTALY UN PROFESSIONAL WITH TERRIBLE COMMUNICATION

I rented for two years with Ann OBrien as a student at URI. The staff has always been very responsive and thorough every time my roommates and I had any concerns. I would definitely recommend this company to any URI student or anyone looking to rent out a house in the summer!

So far its been a few yrs Ive been dealing with this company as a home owner for rentals. I really like them and I usually deal with Matt, Rachel and Nathan, all which are very nice and polite.

For the past week and a half, Ive been using this company to look for a house and it’s a pretty urgent matter. i found a house last week but i’ve been calling to see if there was an update, come to find out the house is taken but they couldn’t bother to tell me. I called again today to see if any other houses were available but they hung up on me and declined my call.

My previous review must have been reported by their team because it was removed. They are unprofessional, unresponsive, amateur realtors. They had myself and another young female living in a mouse infested house for months with zero communication. I was told “I have mice in my house” as a response to my complaints from their head realtor. Vile, money-grabbing human beings. SLUM. LORDS. I will re-comment this every time it is deleted to warn others. URI parents BEWARE.

BEWARE.... Do not rent from these crooks and in particular avoid renting 11 Walcott, Narragansett, RI. The owners are unresponsive...there is mold throughout the house, mice droppings everywhere, appliances are regularly on the fritz, and they keep the security deposit without cause. #Slumlord

My daughter rented an apartment that turned out to have a rat issue they moved out of the apartment and was told she would receive her security within 20 days we have called there office several times and are left on hold for more than 15 minutes when we call back they don’t answer Nate Joe Kathy and Rachel very unprofessional I wouldn’t recommend this reality company to anyone

We had an excellent relationship with Ann O Brien from our first visit to turning in the keys. The house was even better than we expected, immaculately clean and comfortable. I met Joe again this year. He rented to me over 20 yrs ago and was kind of me then which is why we went back this year. We will come back!!!!

These guys are absolutely horrifying. If you are a college student DO NOT rent with these guys. If you rely on student loans for rental payments they WILL NOT accommodate for it. They will charge you late fees. After multiple conversations prior to the start of the year they told me that That is how life goes. Theyve also come into our home without any prior notice of inspection. The house also has a mold problem as well as a plethora of other issues. DO NOT RENT WITH THESE GUYS.

Timely and friendly service whenever I needed information on my summer rental or recommendations on things to do in Narragansett. I could not ask for anything more from a real estate company.

The absolute worst realtors in the business. Was told a house was readily available and could be rented if my (potential) roommates and I turned in applications on time. We had our applications in, yet this poor excuse for a realty company failed to inform us that the current tenants were going to re-rent the house for the following year. Dont put up houses for rent and tell clients that it is in fact available if it is not the case.

Ann OBrien represents 53 Sakonnet Blvd. Narragansett RI. which is a URI rental. Potential renters AND PARENTS should look closely at the condition before paying the pemium price. Sub-par house in pricey area. NO INTERIOR PICTURES ON WEBSITE...HMMM, why is that? Very poor communication and follow up in trying to resolve issues through Ann OBrien. Never Again!

My family rented a beach home from ths company at 9 Southwest Road in narragansett Rhode Island. We walked into the rental on day one and the heat and humidity outside ere oppressive. Well, it was the same INSIDE THE house. They claim on the ad that there is climate control but all you get is a sweatbox with 2 ceiling fans and 2 floor fans from the 80s. I am posting pictures of the filthy conditions at the location...doors with holes and disgusting floors that have not been swept or mopped, the upstairs shower leaks onto the 1st floor through the closet. There are spiders in every room, the screen slider in the bedroom was broken so even when it was cooler at night, we couldnt open the door to let the breeze in because of mosquitos. The management sent a guy to fix one of the doors...he put one closet door back on its track and left then he never came back. If you look at the iTunes listed on the site and look at my current pictures youll see that theres probably a 20 year difference. The mattresses are extremely uncomfortable and, hey...if youre looking for a nice outdoor shower after the beach, better look somewhere else. Theirs is not even enclosed and it faces the neighbors front door. We had such high hopes for this place. I will say that we did receive a tiny refund from anne obrien, but not the one we asked for. CALL AND ASK THE COMPANY BEFORE YOU RENT IF THERE IS AIR CONDITIONING BEFORE YOU MAKE A DECISION TO GET A SUMMER HOUSE and ask them to send you current pictures.!!

I rented through Ann Obrien for two years while attending URI. I had a very good experience with them. I wanted to write in a good review for them because I was almost turned off from them due to their bad reviews. Ive called them over clogged toilets, a leaking sink drain, a sump pump that wasnt properly expelling water out of the basement, and a broken dishwasher. All of these issues were quickly addressed within 48 hours (the sump pump and toilet being taken care of a lot more quickly of course). And whenever I called over a quick question or regarding wanting something addressed, they always seemed attentive and willing to care for my problem or questions.And regarding the other review saying that you are paying for a month where you move out before fulfilling the full month. While this is true, I felt their prices every month were very fair and feel that losing out on the two weeks or so were accounted for in the final monthly price if that makes sense. I did not feel like I was robbed.

Not overly out going

I have not had a good experience with Ann OBrien. They took days to respond to our inquiries from the start, and the agents were not polite. We did not hear back for a week after we turned in our housing application (even though they told us in an exasperated tone that they would respond ASAP), and we had to follow up multiple times only to hear that another group had been approved for the house. I am disappointed in our treatment as my partner and I are young professionals and expect to be taken seriously.

This review will show fair pros and cons to the best of my ability, however my time with ann o brien realty was filled with extreme stress and frustration. I imagine yours will be too. You wont be dealing with a realty office, it was more like dealing with an organized crime group. You will be scammed, ESPECIALLY if you are a young college student lied to, and your bills probably wont make any reasonable sense. When we first arrived our home was in decent shape. Unfortunately the only pro I can think of is that their real estate is nice, comes furnished and many homes have a washer/dryer etc, and a lot of it is walking distance from Narragansett beach. but there was a scent of mold and part of the roof was damaged.The roof was repaired at no cost to us, but they waited for us to complain before doing anything about it they knew about it and didnt mention it If you decide to rent from this realty READ EVERY bill, EVERY word on their lease and paperwork VERY carefully.
