Lack of professionalism all around. There are signs all around the office that state turn cell phone ringers off. I’m assuming this is while in a session. The counselor answered her phone twice and had a short conversation with the person on the other end using the time I pay for her help as personal time. The intake paperwork was not sent half the time to gather information needed for the session. The best part of it all was that there were no recommended solutions, alternative perspectives, or outside tasks suggested to help my current situation. Not a place I recommend if dire help is needed.
Very disappointed in this office. I called to make an appointment and was told by the receptionist that I would receive paperwork that day to complete. Didn’t receive a thing. On the day of my appointment, still didn’t receive anything. I called 10 minutes after my appointment was supposed to begin to give them some time, only for the receptionist to tell me she didn’t even see me in the system! Mind you, this was the same receptionist that I scheduled the appointment with. She was very rude about it and told me she would give me a call back. Still haven’t received a call. I waited weeks for this appointment. What a sad excuse for a behavioral health clinic.
I firmly suggest not using Nowell and Associates. I was originally excited to begin my journey, particularly with a Counselor who looked like me! That goal quickly turned into a chaotic experience due to their lack of business processes. Maybe in a few years they will develop a client-centric model that supports customers but now their lack of professionalism and organization caused me more issues than before I came to them. Their on-boarding and intake process was not handled very well on their end and critical components were missed several times. This ultimately impacted both my billing and scheduling. I warn you... if you choose to work with them, be sure to get everything in writing or record communications/interactions. For me, that level of follow-through with a company caused more stress and anxiety. It’s not worth it. Even while trying to resolve the errors, I was approached with a lack of empathy and no sense of accountability for their errors. I came to this firm for assistance, they really just made things worst. I wish I had started somewhere else. Good luck.
Highly recommend if you need the best professionals to listen and not judge. Dr. Nowell and Associates provided excellent service’s.
I see 2 people here, 1 for psychiatry and 1 for therapy appointments. The availability of the psychiatrist, Stacey, (not the only one there, just the one i had picked) is only once a month, but it works well for me.The therapist is amazing, last name Walker, and i see her about 2 times a month. Both are exceptional women and have helped me exponentially
Please, please, do not go here seeking any kind of respite from an issue. If you do not suffer from a condition upon arrival, you will definitely depart with one! Firstly, this is mostly aimed at one unprofessional doctor in particular; Doctor Darrell Troupe. My first impression of him over a year ago was not exactly flattering when during one of our first talks, while I was candidly telling him some of my history, he found it appropriate to bring up women and PMS! His exact words were, Women get nasty during their PMS! I was so shocked by the inappropriateness of the comment; not only because I am a woman; not only because I wasnt discussing anything of the sort; not only because this was supposed to be a safe, professional, and psychological setting; but also because the comment has no place in almost any conversation whatsoever! I sadly continued going to this poor establishment out of sheer need for prescription refills and, anyone who has experienced this field of medical care knows, it is exceedingly difficult, almost impossible to get timely appointments with psychiatrists. A few months ago, less than two to be exact, I had a family emergency and canceled my 2-month required visit. I rescheduled my appointment but couldnt get one until well into August, a month away. But then I discovered immediately that this doctor, and that title is little deserved, refused to refill my much needed medication! When I called to ask why, I was yelled at by his also not so pleasant and often rude, receptionist. She told me that I needed to see him sooner. I responded to her with, But you gave me the soonest appointment available since the doctor is going on vacation so what am I supposed to do without my medication? The receptionist continued to yell at me, at which point I hung up on her. If all of this wasnt enough, the second you walk into these offices, you are smacked in the face with about 20 different aroma therapy-type scents all competing for worst in show. They do anything but soothe and relax. Its more like sensory overload and more like aroma therapy threw up all of its past and perhaps not best-selling products. Hilariously also, is the existence of a television set with an annoyingly loud crackling fire that can be seen and heard all 12 months of the year. I have never heard of a doctor who refuses a medication refill when an appointment is already scheduled and the patient saw him just a few months previous. The receptionist and Doctor Darrell Troupe are unprofessional, uncaring, rude, and despicably inappropriate! Please find another place for any of your psychiatric needs. Your mind and soul will thank me for this warning!
Dr Mian is THE best psychiatrist I have been to. So kind and personable. The staff here is so kind and helpful. Today I realized I was out of refills on my bipolar medication and the staff worked in a timely manner to make sure I had enough refills to get me through the next four months since I am stable! So happy to be a patient at Nowell and Associates.
Dr. Soni is the truth! Young enough to get real with you, old enough to know when you giving her some b.s. Its best to just come in and tell the truth. I felt comfortable day one because she spoke my language and offered real solutions.
The receptionist here was rude unkempt in her language and unprofessional. I just called the office today to gather information on therapy and on this practice. The receptionist on call this morning was rude and harshly interrupted me in order to let me know that she was going to take another call. Completely unproffessional and rude.
