If there was a such thing as a zero rating, that’s what I would give them. The owner and person doing my interview said she was going to close the door and ask me some really personal questions. I said ok and I handed her my resume, references and cover letter. The woman barely looked at it and asked me was I bilingual. I said no, the add does not mention being bilingual. Then she asked me if I had anything on my record and proceeded to tell me (for the next 15 minutes) about her experience with someone that was with her for 2 years and couldn’t pass the background check to get her license. So, if this add clearly is asking for a Secretary why do they have to take a test to sell insurance? Because they draw you in with the (we train) secretary job. They don’t tell you that they expect you to take a test and secure a license in 6 months to a year. She never took the time to get to know who I was or my abilities. I felt discriminated against, embarrassed. I look at everything as an opportunity to meet new people in my community. To bad they don’t. We never got to talk about me but I’m kind of glad.
