Sat 8/28/21 we worked A brilliant gig in Napa Valley with an incredible band. We were just handling the banquet staffing for food service. The whole night was absolutely wonderful and everything went off without a hitch. Until, the show was over and the crowd was lingering on. I was appointed by the foremost event planner to ask the AV controller to turn up the lights and indicate that the facility was ending services.Unfortunately, I was met by a couple of individuals that seem to think they were operating entirely on their own with no concern for any other work that needed to be performed because instead of turning up the lights they actually pulled the plug for a “black out”. It was an obvious action of defiance, creating a very unsafe working condition for practically the entire facility, let alone the guests that were now adjusting to night vision just to get out.Again, everything else was absolutely perfect. But if you have an attitude that is unwilling and unhelpful at key moments in this industry, it needs to be addressed.Update 9/14/21 the admin made a note that some of the lighting was not provided by them totally deflecting the issue. Anyway, all the lighting was controlled by the NVM team. Provided or not. My review remains unchanged.
Napa Valley Media is, by far, the best Audio-Visual company I have had the pleasure of doing business with. I handle event planning all over the country, and it is refreshing to see an AV team that truly cares about their product and services. I usually have problems with corporate big box AV companies that overcharge, assign unqualified techs and substandard equipment, and there are usually stressful technical problems during the events. I also want to leave a very special thank you to the Napa Valley Media on-site techs, Tyler and Ciairra. They mastered a very complex AV installation at the resort where we held our conference. The event involved multiple monitors, seven wireless mics, two live video conference calls with two-way communication (needed for the CEOs remote speech) and custom lighting for our set backdrops. Everything was impeccable, and several of our guests commented on the quality of the sound and the visual presentations. I will definitely use their services again. Great work and THANK YOU!
