After staying multiple times and as a frequent business traveler whose corporate partnership is with Marriott, I can confidently say this location is a Marriott in name only. It does not fulfill the brand promise even slightly in service, cleanliness, amenities, etc. The front desk service was especially uncaring and uninterested. Will never stay here again.
Clean rooms, house keeping on request. Great drinks at the bar mice selection of drinks snacks and essentials at the front counter counter fair prices. Stayed a total of 10 days in a single king room was clean and spacious the shower itself is worth the price of the room. The overnight front desk clerk William deserves a giant pay raise. Was polite punctual friendly and was quite amazing to speak with. All in all would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a nice place to stay.
This is my first stay at a Delta hotel since Marriott acquired the brand and my stay has been very underwhelming. The last Fairfield Inn I stayed at was nicer. While Fairfield, SpringHill, and Residence Inn have gone back to serving breakfast, this hotels idea of breakfast is buying an egg sandwich at Starbucks. Decided to go shopping for cold breakfast items to eat in the room. The suite I was upgraded to was weirdly laid out with no closet in the bedroom portion and no direct access to the bathroom.Im a lifetime Titanium Elite member who has seen more than my share of Marriott properties, but Ill be avoiding Delta Hotels in the future based on this stay.
I am very Disappointed in the management. We stayed Saturday September 11th. Sunday when we got home I realized we had forgot my daughters tablet in the room. I called up there on Sunday the guy at the front desk said nothing was left but he would get a hold of the manager of the laundry department and he would give me a call back. I waited almost 2 hours never got a phone call so I called back he had no answer for me. I called Monday morning and spoke with a manager he said he would do everything he could he would go search the room himself go look in the laundry talk to both shifts and would give me a call back. I never received a phone call so I called today that manager who promised me he would give me a call back had left on vacation would not be back until Thursday. So a different lady called me back told me nobody found anything you can file A police report if you would like to but there’s nothing we can do about it. I would put my life on it that my daughter’s tablet was left in that room so that tells me that one of their workers took it. What makes me mad is that it’s not affecting me as much as it’s affecting my five-year-old daughter and they could care less about it. Nobody took it serious I was told by three different people that they would call me back never received a phone call I had to call three days in a row now.
Nice hotel, friendly staff not far from a nice waterfront walk.
Liked the place, clean rooms, convenient location, enough parking spaces. Only disappointment that restaurant was closed due to some private event.
This is a downtown Muskegon motel that is very upgraded. Its got a nice, clean open restaurant and bar within walking distance to everything downtown.
Great stay in the heart of downtown Muskegon. Plenty of different places to chill within walking distance
Positive: The room was spotless, the bed was super comfortable. The location is in a quiet area. This is the first hotel I stayed at that I had a good nights sleep. No noise from the corridors or from the outside. No road traffic noises, etc.
I’ll never stay here again. We’re only here because we’re going to Michigan Adventures in the morning and don’t want to drive from Detroit in the morning. They really need to take the “Marriott” name off the end of this place bcuz it does NOT deliver your average Marriott quality. When I was getting food, I found out that this place used to be a Holiday Inn and I can’t definitely see that now that I’m here. Rooms are small and out dated. The hallways are dirty. Doors to get in your room have scuff marks. Definitely needs some TLC. Well, a lot of TLC. And the staff is rude as hell. I can’t wait to check outta here in the morning. This might be the first hotel where I’m going to be gone waaaaaaay before check out time. Save yourself the money, time and comfortability and go to another hotel. I’ll never come here again.
Pleasant stay... Bar/restaurant closes way too early on a Saturday! (10pm!)
Positive: Location, Convenience, & Amenities Negative: The rooms window view. Doesnt face new updated beautiful Muskegon Lakeshore.
I was able to check in, make room request and check out all through the app. We stayed here for the Seaway Race and it was a 10 minute walk to the start and finish! If coming to Muskegon I recommend this place!
Right on the strip downtown. Walking distance from some many different restaurants and bars. Only about 5-10 mins away from lake Michigan! Love our stay here
Nice hotel, great location, beds are nice and comfy. The plumbing here is a bit hardcore, and we are right near the elevator, so we hear the rush of it every few seconds...
Convenient place in Muskegon. Walking distance to many places. Staff was courteous and fixed the mix up on or bill promptly. Downside was our room was not swept, sink was a little dirty and there was hair in the tub. I bring Lysol wipes with me whenever we travel so I wiped everything down. It was very windy while we were there and our window whistled and howled all night long Saturday. Did not get to try the restaurant as we needed reservations and we weren’t told this. We were hungry! But went to a restaurant that was open Saturday late and got some food there. Starbucks in the hotel we didn’t get to try either day we stayed. One person working and the line was long. I will say many of the places in Muskegon are still short staffed because of the pandemic. I’m sure it will be better in the future when more people get back to work. For a Bonvoy Marriott line hotel, I was expecting a nicer, but the staff was helpful.
Great time n place to have our 50th+1 MHS call Reunion. Had drinks, food, and fun, with our group, nice time .
Such a clean and neat hotel. Renovated and modern feel.
I will tell you one thing that online travel agents dont want you to know. When booking resorts use ʜᴏᴛᴇʟʙᴜʟʟʏ.ᴄᴏᴍ They have the best deals on resorts! Way better than using expedia, priceline, agoda. Take my word for it!!!I was able to check in, make room request and check out all through the app. We stayed here for the Seaway Race and it was a 10 minute walk to the start and finish! If coming to Muskegon I recommend this place!
Nice I only live 15 minutes away but I mean aren’t hotels fun to stay at
The hotel is cool, but my shower water in room 318 never heated up.
The wheelchair accessible showers flooded the floor in the handicapped accessible room because they are missing the hump. Besides that, the room was beautiful.
Dined only @ The Walker. Confit Duck Bao was my choice, as I love duck. However, the confit cooking style totally masked the flavor of the duck. This particular sweet confit style reminds me somewhat of Korean barbecue. The Mushroom risotto and halibut my companions ordered were excellent, and so was the service. There is an extensive drink menu where everyone will something to please. I gave them four stars because they did well overall. My food was good, but not the duck flavor I expected. Living in S.E. Asis spoiled me for duck.
They charge me $480 for one night!! I initially made reservations for one night. The next morning I ended up checking out late but the housekeeper told front desk to charge me another night (which I did say I would like to stay) but wasn’t able to because I didn’t have enough funds on my card. (Not knowing it was already taken off). I ended up having to get a room at ‘The Hampton’ when I could’ve just stayed here. Will be taking further action because front desk or their manager, Lisa Grossenbacher was useless.
I only experienced the dining aspect of the hotel. And my expectations were met, and exceeded.100% recommend.
Outstanding stay. Military friendly so come.on down. This hotel is based in the center of town. Great, clean and affordable. Love it
Very clean and extremely courteous staff. The beds were extremely comfortable. The only complaint I have was that their air freshener in the hallways was extremely strong.
I can not say enough about how wonderful the staff at the Muskegon Delta Marriott are! From the manager Stacey, our waitress Diane (aka Bob), our barista Schuyler and everyone else who made our stay delightful. Thank you!Highly recommend you folks!
I love this place from the beautifully updated rooms as well as the really friendly staff, anything i needed or wanted was provided with a smile! I was impressed with how clean it was also plenty of room and super comfortable beds! my family and i recommend Delta Hotels by Marriott any time were on vacation or business! Thankyou Delta Hotels
Freaking love love love this place. It has transformed
Positive: Location Negative: Stayed two nights, did NOT get room cleaned¿had to go to front desk to have towels refreshed. Extremely disappointed in housekeeping!!!
Nice location. Rooms nice and decent rates
Clean rooms, polite staff. We had Patrick check us in. He was knowledgeable and welcoming.
Convention center looks amazing! Great views and the transition from Vandyke Convention Center to hotel is seamless.
S/O: THE BATTISTA @ STARBUCKS WAS A LIFE SAVER!!!!
Super nice, clean AND...... Theres a bar in it! Enough said! 😅🤣
Very nice rooms! My son and girlfriend got a room last night for Valentines. They were loving on the view of there 5th room floor!
Nice location for drinks and dining in the downtown area.
Excellent service. New dinner menu is just what downtown Muskegon needed
Positive: Cleanliness, Covid protocols, ease of everything we did including checking in/out, asking staff questions, and dining at restaurant. Negative: No continental breakfast but Im guessing thats due to Covid....however a heads up wouldve been nice
Our room was clean, but not stocked very well. For $360 for one night, the service should be over the top, but it wasnt. It was just ok.
Positive: the bartender was so friendly and made us feel very welcome! Negative: I wish this hotel offered a continental breakfast.
Hotel is very dated and basic
Great location and very nice room
Was actually surprised by the attention to detail. Good job guys !!
Positive: The staff was friendly and accepting of my service dog.
Nice Rolms and accomodatuins.Kost of the staff are wonderful Folks! due to Covid. Service and amenities were limited. Ty Ms. Gov. !Would Not Hesitate to stay here again.
Hotel is wonderful, but the restaurant in there is ridiculous. My wife and I both ordered a cheese burger and fries and it cost us $40...
Newly renovated hotel with a cool modern vibe!!! from the lobby, bar to the sleek counters in the room and the high end glass doors on the shower. my room did not disappoint the pillows are like clouds, nice size TV seen from nearly everywhere in the room!! here on business and couldnt wait to get back to my hotel to relax. went through the workout, pool and hot tub areas all are new and updated equipment . hallways are brightly lit and i was completely comfortable even traveling alone. The check in staff was very friendly and helpful. The Bar/Restaurant was very efficient and friendly. was a warm comfortable place to stay in the blustery weather
They overcharged me.
We stayed at the Delta for my nephew’s wedding which was right across the street. We were skeptical about the hotel due to several negative comments on a few review sites. In all, we had 7 rooms between 20 of us. Immediately, upon our arrival we felt very comfortable with the staff and the environment. My group arrived late and check-in was quick and welcoming. Our request for adjoining rooms was fulfilled. The rooms were clean and comfortable. One of our rooms did not have bath towels and a call to the front desk was immediately answered and towels to the room within 5 minutes. During our two night stay all our needs were met and the front desk and cleaning crew were very attentive asking if we needed anything several times. Check out was quick and the billing was accurate. The restaurant had a great and reasonable priced buffet on Sunday morning. I am not sure what prompted the negative reviews that made us concerned about the Delta, but if there were problems as the new facility was opening they have definitely made adjustments. I would recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Muskegon!
Great area to stay. Hotel was clean and very modern and there are plenty of places to eat/drink within steps of the building. Would stay here again if I find myself in the area.
Nice thing high end
Nice stay, clean rooms. Bed a little stiff for my liking
This place was beautiful! The employees at the desk were friendly and helpful. Big portioned breakfast and priced right! If I’m ever in the area, I’d stay here! Can’t say enough nice things about it.
The schnitzel was one of the best dishes Ive ever had. I also got a free peice of banana cheese cake because it was my birthday. Great staff and excellent food I will plan to eat here every time I come to town
Pleasant personal, nice rooms and very comfortable. We wish that there are more than two suites available. But other than that its a nice place.
Great location - friendly staff - modern furnishings - welcoming lobby w/great space for visiting. Hotel room was spacious and clean. Workout room & pool looked nice (though I didnt use). Only comment/criticism is that all cabinets in the kitchen suite were empty! Not a single utensil, cup, plate. We went to the restaurant in the lobby so no biggie - just kind of strange to have a kitchen space with nothing in it. Would highly recommend.
Positive: very friendly staff with clean room and large bathroom with great shower! Negative: unfortunately due to covid-19 the restaurant and pool were closed.
Very nice clean & updated hotel with friendly staff.
The hotel was super clean and the rooms relaxing minus you can hear every door open and shut and it sounds like someone is in your room. Fitness center was amazing and pool was nice and warm. Hot tub wasn’t working so that was a huge bummer.
Ver nice and clean and accommodating. With all the covid restrictions and policies it was well cleaned and we felt very safe here
This was our first time staying at a Delta Hotel and the first time staying in Muskegon. The hotel staff was incredible. They made us feel welcome and had the room ready exactly to our specifications on file. The room itself was a nice size, very clean, and newly renovated. It was also very quiet through the evening. We had a great dinner from room service and a great breakfast the next morning in the restaurant downstairs. We would highly recommend staying at this location if you are looking for something in this area. A++++ We will definitely stay here again in the future. Thank you!
We came to Muskegon for a wedding and stayed at the Delta Hotel downtown. The hotel was up to date and the amenities were excellent. We had staff service that was unrivaled by any hotel we have stayed in. We loved having a walk-in shower instead of a tub/shower combination. We like having a Keurig coffee maker, and having real half and half is so much better than powdered creamer. The bed was comfy and the pillows were great. We were able to walk to the wedding and several breweries/eateries from the hotel.
Stayed here on 11/17. It was great. Staff was wonderful. Rooms clean. Had breakfast before we left which was very good. Recommend this hotel to everyone
This hotel was fantastic, the rooms were beautiful and well appointed with conveniences. The restaurant food was excellent and the servers were excellent. Smiles found on all staff at every level. It is a little expensive, but I think overall, worth the extra cost. I especially appreciated the convention convenience of an excellent restaurant, close parking and local availability of other businesses so very close to the hotel. Excellent place to stay!
Beautiful place! Great experience.
While we were at the hotel, the people at the front desk were extremely helpful and nice. The food at the restaurant is really good! I would recommend this restaurant. The hotel is located in a very nice area. I had a great stay and would come back!
We purchased the NYE package offered by Delta Marriott and we certainly were not disappointed. The service was top notch, the hotel itself was clean and modern. The meals included with the package was good and plentiful. The staff were wonderful, making sure the dirty dishes were removed promptly from our table along with being friendly.
Beautiful hotel. Very nice relaxing stay.
Did not stay at the hotel was at a bike rally in Muskegon
My daughter and I stayed for one night. We ate in the restaurant and used the pool. The room was very nice and clean, recently updated. The bedding and beds were of good quality. Our check-in experience was very professional and the desk clerk very friendly and helpful. The pool area was clean. There werent towels, so I went out to let the desk know. I ran into a staffer who took care of it right away. Very nice staffer. The restaurant was staffed by very nice waitpersons. They were serving a large group as well as my daughter and I, and were extremely helpful and friendly to everyone around us. The desk clerk who checked us out Sunday morning was terrific. We would definitely stay here again. Very nice.
Beautiful, and beautiful food, tasty too. Melissa was our server, she was Awesome.
My wife and I and three related families with their chldren (15 family members in all) stayed at this hotel in late July when we visited Michigan Adventure. The hotel had recently been remodeled/refurbished and everything was new and modern and exceptionally clean. The rooms were quiet with room darkening shades and the beds were very comfortable. The only thing we would have liked to see in the room was grab bars in the shower. The staff members we came in contact with were very friendly and welcoming. The room rates were very reasonable considering how nice the hotel was. We also purchased the breakfast package which saved us a good amount because the children under 12 were free. There were some minor negatives in that the service in the hotel restaurant was slow both at dinner and at breakfast. Also the restaurant employees didnt seem to know how the breakfast package worked and thought that we were responsible for any amounts over $25 which wasnt true. The hotel staff did correct the problem after we complained. All in all it was a very good experience.
In my opinion not worth the money especially during the pandemic as neither the rooms or the hotel itself had any of the usual amenities. To get coffee or towels you had to go downstairs and ask for them. There was no daily cleaning service and you had to put your trash and towels out to be picked up unless you wanted to let them pile up in your room. The bed wasnt very comfortable, you couldnt tell the difference between the feather and standard pillow as both were as soft as feathers (we had to go buy pillows so my husband could sleep) the water was not hot enough even for my husband who doesnt like hot water and even on the 7th floor you could hear noise from the bars/restaurants near by on the weekends. Because I had to wrap gifts on the floor I quickly learned the carpet wasnt very clean as I got hair all over everything. We wont be staying here again even after the pandemic.
Newly renovated. Super clean. Great staff.
They did an excellent job keeping it clean and the staff were friendly and helpful.
We had a great stay from checkin to checkout. We stayed two nights with our family (and daughter was able to enjoy the pool). Wish they would have at least provided a coffee service for guests but did utilize the Starbucks on site. There is a quite a bit to eat/see within walking distance of the hotel (and was safe, even at night). We would stay here again.
Overall the hotel provided a great place to have the convention. The location is awesome and the new look is great. I would upgrade the food for dinner menu not the best. We will return so overall it is wonderful place.
Excellect!!Robyn, at 3AM was a life saver. We drove from Central Florida and had some difficulty on our way and arrived at 3AM and ROBYN WAS AMAZING. She helped us when no one else would. Marriott fan for life.
The title speaks for itself. It hit all my requirements. My child loved this hotel for its aesthetics (and the pool). This stay has given me the confidence to seek out another Delta Hotel if it were an option.
4 Issues:(1) The last 3 stays I was granted Pantry access with my Gold Elite. Last stay I was told I no longer have that privilege, not nicely either.(2) Did online check-in thru the App but I was told it didnt get thru(3) Promised that receipt will be emailed to be, never receive it. (4) Unflushed toilet paper left in toilet upon entering the room the 1st timeI stayed at other Delta Hotel (namely in Sherbrooke, QC) and always impressed with the staffs and hotels high standard and courtesy. So I am a little surprised to see this new Delta hotel is lacking on that same high standard.
Rooms were nice.
Negative: Couldn¿t even use the pool facilities. There was a little confusion on payments because I rented an extra room for a day, but when I checked out of the room I rented for 1 day. So it seems like I was overcharged. Plus nobody mentioned the deposit fees
I experienced my first stay at a Delta Hotel in Michigan and experienced nothing less than great service. From the time I walked in the door until I check out two days later, the service was exceptional. The sleeping rooms were very spacious, the lighting was good, and the beds were very comfortable as well. I am definitely looking forward to staying at Delta Hotels again.
Positive: Location was excellent!! Negative: Not having breakfast in the hotel.
Overall, hotel is nice. However I made specific accommodations in my reservation and they were not met. I asked twice for them to be fixed and after the 2nd time very sternly they were finally fixed. Toilets are RIDICULOUSLY LOUD to flush!!! And then you can also hear everyone around you which is gross. Hotel was loud, and also the doors slamming very obnoxious! We’ve stayed in other hotels with quieter doors.Just disappointed overall.
This is a nice place to stay. The location is great for an overnight stay, there are several places to go visit within walking distance. The breakfast was very good.
So disappointed. Was not told when making reservations about renovation. Told at check in pool and whirlpool would be closed next day. I specifically asked if working today. I was told yes..... But when I checked two hours later. No water in whirlpool.Get to room, lights on, bathroom sink wet, garbage in trash can, heat register dirty from. I called front desk,. They changed my room.Ate in Restaurant. Terrible food ate very little. With no whirlpool decided a shower, Luke warm water.SO Disappointing. I paid in advance.Looking for ice. Non on. My floor. Tried a couple others. None. Shouldnt I have been told this at check in? I had to go to front desk for iceNot sure if I should cancel Holiday Inn Reservation in next city Tues/Wed/Thurs and try a different company.I am sure the renovations will be nice.I would have selected a different hotel had I known. Probably why they were not upfront
We stayed in this newly renovated hotel for Miss Michigan week. Everything was clean, the fitness room was great, and the restaurant staff was very friendly. However, in the 5 days we were there housekeeping only came to our door once. We never saw housekeeping in our hall and our room was never serviced. Other than the lack of housekeeping, our stay was very nice.
Positive: Nice and comfortable rooms.
Nice and clean great guess service
