I used Branches for marital counseling for about a year. I have continued with them for group support for 2 years. This place was a game changer for me, my husband and our family. The ability to be totally honest and transparent without judgment is what people want and need during life struggles. That is exactly what you get with Branches. As with any new relationship, including professional relationships, I was hesitant to really open up about the problems I was facing. However soon after our initial visit I realized that we could come get the help that we needed and make the adjustments needed to improve our situation. I was also able to attend a conference during that year that further helped me gain the insight and experience needed to be a better spouse, mother, and person. Branches is 100% worth the time and money. I was referred by a friend/church member and I am grateful that I was able to get therapy there.

My family and I have seen several Branches counselors through the years for different issues. Each counselor has been great in their own way and area of expertise. Whether a crisis situation or just trying to improve overall mental health, Branches has been a much needed support to our family.

I began services at Branches for grief counseling after my Dad died. The care I received and the help in moving forward has helped me, my family, and has even helped me help others. Tracey R. and the whole staff are wonderful and I have recommended many others to Branches. Thank you for the wonderful care you give!

I scheduled a session here for my son and I. I filled out all the paper work and was matched with a therapist. Upon arrival the therapist thought he was seeing a husband and wife because all he looked at before the session was the names. Half way through the session he actually said, I guess I should have read the file before hand so I knew what this was about. Then says he recommends against further counseling because he did not know what to do for us. I feel very disappointed and cheated.UPDATE: My ex wife called and the therapist gave her the details of my session without my consent. Complete violation of my privacy and HIPAA. Mike told me the guy was trying to help me by disclosing my private session details. Meeting with a lawyer Thurday to see what recourse I have. And still no refund. I asked Mike and he said they did the refund but he is not a credit card processor. So basically tough luck.

Branches Counseling has helped me tremendously. I have a mental illness that most counselors refused to see me. My counselor agree to see me and has been very patient with me and I am making progress. He also sees my autistic son and he is making progress in the areas they are working on. We are so thankful for Branches Counseling. I would recommend them to anyone.

Specifically went for medication management behalf of my behavior disorder past and was hoping to get referred to a physician. Instead sat there for 30 mins and was told to try and write in a journal, after exposing my medical history and got told I had to spend more into another person that’s works there . Not a good option if you don’t have insurance.

Went to see Marlena for grieving because I lost my son recently. I also needed help with filling out fmla paperwork for work. Marlena told me she had filled out paperwork for fmla several times in the past and had no problem doing it. Well I got denied because she doesnt have the expertise to determine how long I should be off work and had to call me asking how to fill it out. Very disappointed because now Im having to go see another doctor and have to appeal my denial in this time of grief. She also put down that I canceled my current appointment though which I only did because she still hadnt filled out the paperwork from my first visit. She didnt put that i was also charged for the cancelation. She also didnt do a very good job. She actually laughed a few times during the session, which was upsetting for the reason I was there. Very sad and she needs to work on her therapy skills more. Wont be going back!!! Highly recommend going elsewhere.

The office has a relaxed atmosphere, I’ve never had to wait, the staff is polite, and the care of clients is extraordinary. My previous experience with counseling was horrible compared to the care branches provides.

Had an appointment with Kevin, he wasnt very friendly or pleasant to be around. He spent a majority of my first and only visit talking about money and procedures. Reminded me that he couldnt use any view point other than his own religious one, which was fine until he labeled me an atheist when it shouldnt have been an aspect at all. Talked down to me about my personal choices. Urged me to schedule a weekly appointment when I told him that I couldnt afford it. Wouldnt recommend him as a therapist or branches as a whole.

I had a great experience here. I am an atheist, and I never felt any religious pressure from my counselor. I did find a secular therapist who I enjoy, but my experience here was great, and I would recommend them.

I called to set up a consultation about 3-4 weeks ago. I was told that someone would call me back to schedule an appointment. No one ever attempted to call me. With that in mind, I would think that the workers do not take their jobs seriously. There are people out here who may really need to talk to someone, but Branches seem to respond carelessly to clients. This was the first place I decided to call in years and felt let down by this facility. I’m glad that I was able to find a therapist that got back with me in a timely manner and showed that I mattered!

Called to say my daughter was in crisis and the receptionist was so uncaring. I hope if anyone else in is need she shows more compassion. I got their name from the MTSU parent page and I will be sure to let them know its not worth the call. So upset and just needed help.
