Wow! What a fun experience! I cannot say enough great things about this place and the people there! We went up in Cessna N89539, it was great looking airplane. I took my kids on a discovery flight which was great! The pilot was very safe and knowledgeable, and it was very easy to schedule a flight. Great site-seeing as he took us over downtown Nashville, and I enjoyed learning a lot during the flight also. Well worth it!

I booked a flight for my husband’s birthday and it was phenomenally. We originally had it booked for noon but with crazy winds coming in, we called at 6:30am and they were able to get our flight easily changed to an earlier time. MA was extremely kind, flexible, caring, and worked with the crazy schedules of the storm. I highly recommend them to anyone who wants to book a flight over Tennessee. In the beginning of 2020, I knew aviation was something I wanted to pursue.It was extremely visible that the people at Murfreesboro Aviation held true passion in their craft.I started ground school with an instructor named, Ran Powers.Ran has accomplished in his life what many dream of achieving in Aviation.His life as an Airline Pilot and Air Force pilot inspired me!He could speak on topics that I dream of understanding on the level he does one day.As ground school was ending a pandemic hit our nation, life changed for me.However this school school has kept providing top notch education.Due to a pressing family matter I returned to Minnesota and had to take a break from flying.After my experience with Murfreesboro Aviation, I couldn’t get flying out of my head. The school had lit a fire inside my soul and it wasn’t going away.In October of 2020, I started with a phenomenal school in my home state, but I could never forget this place.I wanted to gain more knowledge from them about being in the sky.I’m currently about halfway through my training and last week returned to Tennessee for my birthday.I didn’t want to take break in my flight training.I spoke with an instructor named Zaid over the phone last week to schedule a flight.Upon returning we flew together, I noticed he not only sees potential in his students but encourages them in who they’re becoming each time they fly.One thing that differentiated Zaid for me was that he gave me the freedom behind the flight controls to correct my own mistakes, he verbally helped me improve on the maneuvers the second time around and I felt he had my back the entire time.Also, Zaid recommended multiple great burger restaurants which was really nice since my friend was experiencing TN in depth for the first time.They don’t just teach here, they light a fire in one’s soul and inspire progress to be a better pilot each flight lesson.This school is one of a kind!Thank you again Zaid and Murfreesboro Aviation for phenomenal experiences and being so passionate about what yall do, it’s infectious.I will forever be thankful for the flight time here.

Had a dead battery (left master switch on). Young Mr. Patrick was on duty early Sunday morning and helped me tow the plane to their hangar, put the battery on charge, and kept me informed throughout the morning. My departure was early afternoon, so there was no need for a boost.Departure time came, Patrick helped me button everything back up, ran preflight with me as an extra pair of eyes, and stood by as we successfully started up (this was most helpful as I was traveling with my 3 year old).He was very helpful, professional, and even checked on me later in the day to be sure all was well. Glad to have a great relationship with a team of mechanics right here on my home field. They go above and beyond!

My 4 year old son and I were in Murfreesboro and decided to eat our lunch and watch the airplanes take off at Murfreesboro Aviation. Knowing the chances of getting any closer to the planes were slim, we went into the office and asked if we could get some up close views of the planes. As soon as we entered the office, we were welcomed by Libby Willis and Josh Cochran. They were so amazing! We got a tour of a plane, our pictures taken, and even our pilot wings. My son was beaming with excitement, and talked about it all the way home. It was such a great experience and they were both so nice, professional, and welcoming! I just received my complex rating for my Piper Arrow with Murfreesboro Aviation. The training was in depth and detailed. This flight school is severely reducing the quality of life for surrounding neighborhoods. Between their low altitude maneuvers and other disrespectful conduct multiple residents are now discussing the possibility of litigation. Jim, you need to do something with community engagement and noise abatement before this gets uglier.

Fantastic service and support! Stopped in to Murfreesboro for a week. Norm was able to work me in for a biannual IFR pitot-static check. Upon leaving Saturday afternoon realized I had no right break during preflight. Kevin pulled the plane in, found I had a loose fitting at the right main. Pressure bleed the lines, topped off the reservoir and had us ready to go in less than an hour!

It is impossible to have a good school, without great teachers. The world renown gold-seal certified instructor, Trevor Pickard, assisted me in achieving my PPL this summer. He delivered top notch instruction, and always made sure to focus on safety. If you do decide to seek his guidance, be prepared to add his large and very professional mustache to the weight and balance, as it may affect the characteristics of your flight.

I received training at Murfreesboro Aviation for the 40 or so hours needed for my private license. Then, I decided to finish my commercial training in Miami to become a more confident pilot with experience in more complex airspace like Miamis class Bravo, Charlie, & Delta that are all over the map. After around 200 hours in Miami, I only had 10 hours of complex aircraft training left to meet the requirements for my commercial pilot license. It was approaching the end of the month, so I decided that it would be cheaper to save the next months rent and come back to my home in Murfreesboro to finish the remaining 10 hours of complex aircraft training I needed at Murfreesboro Aviation so I could take the Commercial Pilot Exam.I finished the 10 hours of complex aircraft training at Murfreesboro Aviation, and I was ready to take the exam. During the middle of my commercial pilot exam with FAA examiner Ben Johnson on April 9th, 2018, the owner Jim Gardner comfortably walks in the room with a badge of entitlement to have small talk with the examiner. I found this to be highly disrespectful. It is a common understanding in the aviation community anywhere you go that when someone is taking an FAA exam, you are to be quiet and respectful. I have not been back to Murfreesboro Aviation since then, and I will not walk into Murfreesboro Aviation again.I would like to be clear that I had no issue with my instructors or the airplanes that I flew. However, I personally recommend finding a school to do your training with an owner that understands the common principle of respect and that will treat you with respect, especially during something as important as a commercial exam. Wherever you go, NEVER pay an owner that asks for the full cost of training upfront. Pay as you go.Thanks and safe flying.

I’ve had my first ground school with Jack Donnelly! Immediately, he put me at ease and talked to me about what I saw as my goal in flying. From there, with review of my current ratings and experience, he guided me to my next goal: multi engine commercial. Our first session covered the basics of flying a multi engine aircraft, the pre-flight of the aircraft and an hour in the air in the left seat. Everything was communicated in a very encouraging and supportive way. It makes you want to return! We had a small issue with one of the landing gear lights and Jack pulled the manual and flew the aircraft by the book back to the airport for a safe and uneventful landing. I never was uncomfortable or concerned for our safety. As it turned out, one light bulb had decided to blow out on our flight! The staff identified this as a learning point for staff and students in an encouraging way! It should be a goal/objective of every flight instructor to talk with and treat their students in an encouraging manner. No, the first flight skills weren’t perfect on my part. That is why I’m there! With the help of Jack, I am sure to finish this rating efficiently and with expertise. I highly recommend this school.

Went up with CFII Tanay Chokshi today, for simply a Safety pilot request for some IFR practice. I absolutely will be using him again!He is very intuitive, and balances the fly by the book to the fly by feel piloting very well. Quickly, he got in sync with what I knew and pushed me to my limits which I asked for, and cleverly taught me some tricks Ive not seen. Very good teaching skills. He will not step all over you, but instead step in when needed for safety. I absolutely recommend him! It is definitely worth it for requesting specifically him to help with your flying. Especially for IFR practice.

Great place to take your aircraft for avionics work. Set up appointment with Norm Buhl and he got to work on it right away and updated me with the work he was doing. When I picked up my plane he walked out to my plane with me and explained all the work he did. Norm was excellent to work with and did an awesome job on fixing my plane. The staff and ground crew at Murfreesboro Aviation are 1st Class. My SR-22 would not start due to the cold temps last week. The ground crew quickly pulled it into the hangar and hooked up the heaters to it. My passengers and I had coffee and warm accommodations while we waited. In no time, they had the engine warmed and ground power hooked up for an easy start. Thank you Murfreesboro Aviation.

My son and I flew yesterday evening to, around Nashville, and back to Murfreesboro. Our pilot was Joshua Willis. It was by far the funniest most pleasurable flight Ive taken. Ive flown in the Smokey Mountains area, down the beaches in Destin and PCB area and several areas here in Tennessee but last night was the best. Joshua was very thorough, respectful, and never seemed rushed. I hope to be able to fly with him again in the future. If your interested in flying or just want to go for a flight around town give him a call. Youll be glad you did. When we landed and got out of the plane my 5 year old son said he loved it but wants to sit on the otherside next time as to see Nashville better, lol.
