I’ve been lifting for the better part of 6 years now. I just moved to the area and was happy to check out this place. It’s got everything I need to get my powerlifting or hypertrophy workouts in. The employees make the place standout from other gyms I’ve been to. The personal trainers know their stuff and are happy to answer any questions. The other employees happily reach out with kind conversation or help with any needs. I highly recommend, if you are looking for a budget gym with a great environment.
I was in town for a visit and they were pretty nice, I got a free two week pass as advertised, but ever since I left town theyve been calling me day in and day out in order to get me to come in. I have asked to be removed from their call list and still they call me daily. It seems theyre more focused on trying to sell me on a gym 2000 miles from where I live versus any kind of customer satisfaction. I will be recommending my friends in the area utilize a different gym.
Love city sports. Great gym with more than enough equipment which allows you to workout on almost all equipment you want without having to wait. The gym is almost always clean. The cleaning staff do a fantastic job to ensure its clean and that was the normal even prior to covid.Only reason its not 5 stars is because the staff are hit and miss with customer service. Always on their phones not paying attention, rude at times, sloppy, and just dont portray the brand very well.
Very good equipment alot of lockers available and showers as well. Very friendly staff and gym members alike
This is the worst place you want to sign up for. Cancelling the membership is a mission impossible. I went to the gym 3 times and every time when I say I want cancel my membership, the one in charge is not there.
Super clean pool 50/50 salt and chlorine.Manny is one of the best personal trainers.Carla is friendly and was very quick to sign me up. People respect social distancing and are very nice over all.
I was hoping you could stay away from this Gym. The manager Kristi / or Kirstens name is not a professional; she is dealing with me like I am not human. I am asking her nicely to speak to her manager to resolve the problem, but she was none professional she delt with me horribly. I will never use this gym again if they hire mangers none professional like that.
Do you want to get cheated with your credit card ? Join City sports.I joined City sports in 2018 for around 6 months. I had to cancel my membership after that. First it took me few months to get my card out of their register after putting my request. And here it is, they charging me again a whopping amount of around $600 a month and not responding to my several request to stop the transactions. They are not giving me refund for their mistake which they are repeating from several months. So, what is my choice and what could be your choice after such fraud ? A legal case, but beware you are wasting time and energy with them.
Clean. Friendly staff. Equipments are not broken down. Free group sessions like Spin class. Its top rate gym.
Extremely unprofessional environment. The personal trainer Mark M. threatened my wife of having access to her personal information, was rude and unprofessional in front of all club members.
I enjoy taking Zumba classes here with either Arezou or Oxana. The gym itself is fine - got the usual facilities with lockers, showers, etc. Theres also a sauna at this location. The dance studio is the one space that does not have overhead fans. After REPEATED requests theyve now brought in 2 floor fans. The air conditioning doesnt seem to be cooling well in the space.Otherwise its just like a usual gym with weights and machines.
I had been a member of this gym for five years. It was a decent, inexpensive gym. I have gone to this gym four times since they re-opened. Each time, there are patrons and/or staff members who have been walking around without masks. The second time that I went in, I noticed a staff member walk onto the gym floor and look at himself in the mirror for two minutes before he put on a mask. I then noticed two other gym patrons walking around maskless in a space of a couple of minutes. At that point, I made a complaint. The next time that I went to enter the gym, I immediately noticed one patron was exercising with no mask at all. Also, other patrons pulled down the mask to expose their noses, defeating the purpose of the mask. The final time that I visited, I noticed that at least one third of the patrons walk into the gym wearing a mask, and then they proceed to pull down the mask below their nose or mouth while exercising. I have also observed them doing this in full view of gym staff. I left immediately. Gym staff and management are unwilling and/or unable to follow public health guidelines.
Soon instructors are amazing! Wink!
Its clean and not filled with creeps.
Nothing but good experiences. The staff is friendly and patient
Not much ppl gonna go gym during covid-19 period. But they still billing ur account still at covid-19 period one month and whole year member fee at Oct. and Nov. 2020. After they send email at April 2020 to suspended the membership. Try to call in to cancel membership, No one answer the phone.
As youve probably read, this one is City Sports Signature so you need to pay an extra $5/month to use this gym.Ive been to several different City Sports and this one is exactly the same EXCEPT that they provide you with a towel when you walk in and they also have this cryogenic therapy place attached to the gym. Just like other City Sports, its fairly new so all the equipments are working and look great. Because of the towels, you wont see sweat on the seats. There are places to eat right outside too (Sweet Tomatoes, Acai Bowl, Una Mas, In n Out!). A little dangerous I have to say.Ive left my sweater and gloves here once. I came about a week later (yea I dont go to the gym much) and they had it in their lost and found. They do close exactly on time with a lot of warning before the close.Ok why 4 stars? Its in Mountain View off of El Camino so you better go at the right time or youre stuck in traffic. Parking is a little challenge too.
Shady business practice of charging freeze fees on top of annual fees when i called in to cancel membership.
This was a great step up from my previous neighborhood gym. A ton of equipment and lots of free weights. I like the spin room when there is no class. The weight room can get crowded during peak hours but I can always find a different thing to work on.I wasn’t hassled signing up and like the fresh towels.
This gym has nice facilities, but its just dirty and poorly maintained.Check out the locker room floors, pool deck and sauna. Theres typically debris in the pool, including band aids on the bottom and hair floating in the water. The management seems to focus on bringing in more new members (the club is on the verge of overcrowding) while neglecting concerns of existing members. Id happily increase this rating if the management would invest more in keeping the club nice and clean.
During the COIVD-19, they extended my membership and charge the monthly fee without my approvals. I came to ask for refund. The operation managers response has no help.- to stop it I need to pay 50% of the rest of extended membership, which does not make sense at all.- I am asking for refund for a monthly payment charged 2 days ago, and they said no.The city sport club should really think about customers health and concerns, instead of money.
Isaiah was so helpful! I am so glad I joined the city club! Everyone is always so friendly and the equipment is clean. The hot tub is the BEST!
Although Im visiting for a few days, they let me use a three-day pass if I promised to write a review :) Fortunately I think this gym is super impressive! Ive rarely seen a gym that was so large and full of useful equipment... so many machines and free weights. And everythings clean, new, and works well. Locker rooms are pleasant. What more do you want?
Limited number of Group Excercise classes now available, started on Oct. 18th.
I’m visiting from NYC and was looking for a gym to work out while I’m in town, what an incredible surprise. The facilities are stunning, plenty of equipment, locker rooms have everything you need and beyond. Extremely friendly staff. A true gem. I wish I could give them more than five stars.
Staffs were super nice and entertained me well. Good working machine and the bathroom is clean. Not that crowded too.
MountainviewGreat equipment, great facility, very clean and well maintained during the week.On nights and weekends the cleanliness of the club is nowhere near the standards of the work week days and appears to be understaffed.5 star for cleanliness M-F days2-3 stars for cleanliness at night and weekends.
When it comes to signing up with unusual requests, this place is definitely one of the best. I only spend 1-2 weeks in town at a time, and I could purchase a month long membership with leftover days to be used next time Im around. Most places dont do that. The floor space is very large with modern equipment.
No towels when I came in at 9:15am. No towels when I finished my workout at 10:30am. Management said I could use PAPER TOWELS to dry myself after shower. Are you kidding me?? Said one dryer is broken, were trying our best. Offered no compensation for major inconvenience.
Was in Mountain View for a few days and used this gym since it was nearby. Very well equipped for weightlifting. Lots of squat racks and bench presses, and the biggest collection of dumbbells I have seen, in neat order. Not crowded at all, and great air quality. The place is very clean, with cleaning crew visible each day I was there. All the employees I talked to were super nice as well. Will absolutely go back if I visit Mnt View again.
Cool and knowledgeable instructors. Staffs were super friendly and the gym was great.
This is a pretty good gym if youre not a hardcore gym junkie. Rather new equipment, plenty of squat racks, benches, and free weights. The weight room is generally pretty empty, but has overall pretty bad ventilation, and it feels like its 10 degrees warmer in there than in the cardio/machine room. I havent used the pool/sauna/basketball court, but they look pretty good. The only annoying thing is that you will get lots of calls for personal training whether you want it or not.
I never use swimming pool and basketball field. I just do gym. Overall it is fine, but the air condition of inner room (free weight etc,.) is not good. Free towels are nice, but sometime they might forget to refill body wash.
The customer service at City Sports/LA Fitness in general is just disgusting. They dont give a flying f*** about you, they just want your money. Find somewhere better.
Disorganized staff with no accountability. Ask them “who is responsible?” Everyone claims to be a manager but no one is able to fix a problem.
Ive been going here for about a year. Great facilities, wide variety of cardio and weight machines. Staff are friendly and helpful. Free weight area gets very crowded unless its late, not a lot of squat racks. Pool is also pretty small, only three lanes and they frequently hold kids swim lessons.
Okay so am I traveling audio video technician, and when you working at busy corporate environment its nice to get out and go to the gym to blow off steam. And this gym for the most part was amazing on letting me do so district manager couldnt be better and over all the staff was great except then night of Feb-28-2019 at around 6pm. 2 Young Mama boys with no discipline were at the front desk and I was trying to tell them the discussion that myself and the district manager had as I was doing so they could not stop laughing what was just making my blood boil. I wouldnt of minded paying for the night pass but the fact that they just sat there laughing at me while I was trying to explain the conversation I had the other night. just drove me over the Edge it almost made me not want to work out because I was so irritated. I think those two boys need discipline and should be sent to maintenance and scrubbing the toilets not be the faces you first see when it during the gym as that is one of the most important faces of the whole gym cuz theyre the representation and there not yet ready for the responsibility.. other than that like I said great Jim great atmosphere great overall staff and amazing district manager
Terrible service. Zero appreciation for the customers. Bad management and support for questions related to membership. Fortunately there many much better fitness center around! The manager Joe was rude intolerant and racist. So sad is in a good location but recently the staff is not friendly et all. The manager told me that he does not need to be friendly. So bad culture. The overall service, and cleanliness have deteriorated a lot! If you don’t want to pass a bad moment, don’t go to this site. At least while the manager Joe is there. Previous manager Eric was nice. So sad for their customers and workers!
Only accepts (already rather restrictive) guest passes if theyre at least 24 hours old, which isnt mentioned anywhere on the website. Tried to upsell me to a $20 day pass or a full membership. Super scummy sales tactic, reminds me of 24hr fitness.
I love the variety of exercises, the music, and the motivation from the instructors. The front desk staff are always super nice, helpful and flexible. Overall, its great!
This is a very nice gym. Id like to mention that I was helped by Ernest and can tell you what a great deal he gave me and how nice and friendly he is. Five stars all the way...
Going here for week only, but already faced the act of stealing. My lockbox was breached, nothing, luckily, was stolen, but only the lock itself. The reaction of reception guys - pity and regret only. Its really interesting how they handle all this situation cause Im not the only one and this occurs pretty often. Why not make normal lockers or install cameras on the entrance or simply search whos entering. Its beyond my insight.+1 one star for the equip.Русская версия: НИКОГДА, не берите в этот спортзал вещи кроме сменной одежды. Если что-то ценное взяли то несите с собой в зал. Воруют и администрации на это начхать.По остальным пунктам претензий нет - зал хорош.
I wanted to give a shout out to Harrison Kiang. I was in town for a very short time and needed a place to work out. Harrison took care of me without hesitation and for me this speaks volumes about City Sports Club. Everyone there was friendly and helpful. I would recommend City Sports Club to everyone. The facility is great along with the equipment and people.
The worst gym I have been there. They said that their 5 day pass means that you only have 4 days. When you come back the fifth day, your pass would be expired. Yes, your action can protect someone from using your equipment and service free. But also you will lose your new customers who really want to go your gym. Bad experience, bad service!
Very poor service and management.
Not really about the Gym but the sales staff there are horrible. A coworker is a member there so I know everything like crowdiness, price and etc. I just want to try out the basketball court. The co-worker got free trials for 2 weeks before joining without putting down a card. But the salesman still try to get me sign up something first, even after I told him I want to give it an one hour try first. Whats more funny, a manager-like salesman said, every basketball court is basically the same so I dont know what you are trying for. Of course there is huge difference, the floor, the air flow, the lighting, even the baskets. The gyms looks fine but stupid and unfriendly sales people got me suspect the quality of service.
The gym is never packed. The gym and bathrooms are clean. And they have a sauna room. I HAVE NO COMPLAINTS.I recommend trying Cryotherapy that’s on-site at this location.
Well trained staff, flexible schedule and amazing place to workout. Spectacular!!
Wish it has longer hours and reliable towel service.
Plenty of workout equipment even during busier hours. Very clean and well maintained with new equipment. Free towels too. Pool is also adequate (albeit a bit small and crowded during busy hours).
Part of the LA Club gym franchise. Not enough free weights and if you go into the pool you will smell like chlorine for a week... but you can get a workout out in there and the cardio equipment seems to be working all the time...
The group fitness lessons can have better instructors, especially yoga.
The aggressive sales pitches aside (which you should expect from any gym), this is a great place to work out! Towels (both large and small) are provided, showers are clean with shampoo, conditioner, and soap, and clean locker rooms to change and store your bags are there. Not every gym has a pool (this one has a 3-lane pool). Cardio equipment is clean and well maintained!
Being a member for about a year but didn’t go much; recently started looking for a personal trainer. Very uncomfortable experiences from city sports.First the so called head of personal trainer’s attitude is ridiculously rude by keep pushing you to buy 6 months or 12 months package. After I said that I wanted less sessions (15-25 times for about three months) he kept saying can you buy it today if I give you xx price? You have wasted a year not to do anything. What makes you waste a year?So on and so forth. And keep saying would you buy it today? I feel very uncomfortable. Never find such behavior in any occasion.Second, I told him not to be so pushy, he said he just tried to help. After I told him that I need to think about the price ($999 for 15 sessions and each session is only 25 minutes), he said that you already wasted a year without doing anything!! So I left the place. Completely rediculous! What I want to do is my own dedication. I understand you want to sell; but sell it in a decent way. Very unprofessional and disrespectful service! I have seen similar comments below about the training programs. Shame on the company!
Nice facility with tons of equipment. Updated locker rooms. Spin class room, a small basketball court and another fitness room for other classes. Often easy to find competition for pick up games of b-ball and Vball.Wish they were open 24h, or at least a bit later.
Weight equipment is decent and stays pretty organized. Wifi is spotty and cell reception is non-existent. Classes are nice - Janice is the best spin teacher! Super crowded after work though.
The staff is very not nice. Ive tried to call twice to switch my gym from Sunnyvale to Mountain view(which is signature club). Im paying more, that supposed to be a good thing, right? But first time, I called. the staff said, you need to upgrade your membership. I asked how, you hanged up on me! I immediately called back again, ask the same thing, just heard that she saidgood question, hold on, then she talk to another staff said I dont understand what she is talking about then hang up on me again!!!!! How rude!!!!
This City Sports is always clean and almost always empty. The staff is always nice and helpful. I definitely recommend this gym. Ask about their family plans!
The club runs the business in a very unethical way. We froze our account for 3 months and they unfreeze and charge us automatically without asking for permission at the second month. When we ask for the justification, they claimed we need to call in every month even though we initially asked to freeze it for 3 months.
Good fitness center. They are offering personal training and group classes.
Warning foreigners! This club is not 21th ready. You need a local id to get a guest pass, or pay 20$. I decide to leave my subscription to an other fitness club, which is more silicon valley like
Very disappointed. I signed up for the guest pass in their website, giving all the information requested and after reading all the conditions. There was nothing saying that I needed a local ID to use it. So I got here and the person said I couldnt use this guest pass because my ID was not local.
It has everything you’re looking for in a gym! Plus a pool and a hot tub
I was shocked when the guy asked me to pay 5$ to enter the club. I was with city sport for 2 years and i did multiple club so i decided to cancel my membership and find other gym
This is for the receptionist at the front desk. Background, my son went to a SafeSplash class hold in City Sports (SafeSplash rents a swimming lane inside CitySports.) I dont know what happened between SafeSplash and CitySports but obviously they dont go along with each other quite a bit. My son forgot his kids swimming goggle in a SafeSplash class. I went back and checked at CitySports. Luckily the SafeSplash teacher was there, but I was told that SafeSplash and CitySports are in a completely separate business. They dont share the same lost and found. I was told that I had to wait for the SafeSplash owner to unlock SafeSplashs own lost and found box. Fine. I was still ok at that point. After 2 minutes, I wanted to chat with the SafeSplash teacher for a make up class for my son. I asked the receptionist Can I chat with xxx ? . The receptionist suddenly yelled at me xxx is an employee of CitySports at this time, she is not an employee of SafeSplash at this moment. I was surprised. I said I just wanted to check with the teacher in like 1 min. I was yelled at again NO, xx is an employee of CitySports. She can not talk to you NOW!.WTF DID YOU YELL AT ME FOR???
Citysports as such is a decent place with good equipment classes etc. What is appaling about this place is the personal training program that is run by a scumbag called Mark. He is a pushy creep who will take your money and not even provide u with a trainer. I am fighting for my 4 paid sessions when they promised me with top trainers but in reality had no trainers. Jerks!
Good gym. Nice staff and fair prices.
They make going to the gym palatable. Also, pretty good personal instructors😀
~ Haters Gonna Hate ~Been going to this facility for almost a year, and have found it to be run on a consistent basis by the ENTIRE staff as quite professional, and on a high level. No Complaints - Would ABSOLUTELY recommend this Club to all those who are indeed serious minded towards fitness.~ Miles
All that I need
Gym for thugs; lockers are broken in to on a regular basis. My wallet and phone stolen on 11/17/18 from a locked locker. Staff asked to call 911 and report. Then I realized there were 3 others calling 911 for the same exact reason around me.Theres a steep price to pay when you become a member at this gym for thugs!
I really like this gym! Its pretty spacious and the staff is always so friendly! Lots of equipment too!
Really like this place. New equipment, clean and not crazy busy. A good choice for a gym in Mountain View.
Staff is nice, clean environment even for ladies, my spouse and daughter go with me .
I love this gym. Has everything you need and friendly staff.
Very good
Very bad experience with them. First time u have to pay the first and last month, which means when you want to cancel it, you have to pay an extra month. They charge initial fee, annual fee. Seems like they are doing one-time business, not expecting comeback customers.
When you buy membership, they dont tell you, that YOU WILL BE CHARGED ON THIRD MONTH FOR EXTRA $49, IT IS ANNUAL FEE!!!! ANNUAL FEE? WHAT IS IT?
Beware the shady practices in that one. They tell you you are signing up on special plan, with free months and then charge you as soon as they can for the regular month. FY City sports.
Swimming pool is small and crowded because of bad organization: only 2 people can swim on a lane at once as they just split the lane. No one heard about usual clockwise swimming where more people can use the lane. Guard does not look after the swimmers so there are people swimming with scuba equipment (which may be dangerous for other swimmers) as well as people swimming in clothes (like t-shirts and shorts). I regret I paid money for it.
Nice gym👍🏼 nice staff, like the pool, towels etc( although wish there was more attention given to cleaning-shower area)
Facilities are pretty decent. The staff behaves like they are kings of the world. You need some kind of a collateral to use the basketball court here *inside* the gym. If you dont have any ID card with you (because it is in the locker since you plan on working out afterall), you have to provide your phone or your watch as collateral or go to your locker and get the card!It wasnt the case earlier. This was the policy change they made a couple of days ago and I was asked to cancel the membership if I did not like the policy. The staff is very disrespectful and rude that way. For future reference, if you claim to make some policy changes (which was absolute bullshit BTW), please *inform* your customers of the change. The situation could have been easily resolved by politely explaining to me the need for doing this and could have requested me to get my ID. And regardless of that, you dont ask for someones phone or watch as collateral for a *basketball*.
Well equipped with all the cardio equipment and weights. Wifi usually doesnt work well, tv on some treadmills is shaky and the staff is not capable to help on it.You will have to get through their sales talks in the beginning (after which they leave you alone) and you should take care of deadlines for freezing and cancelling. You can easily end up paying for an extra month because you missed it by a day.
Great facility but they have loud music all the time and it is very annoying. They dont respect peoples privacy. One shouldnt have to be forced to listen to screaming loud music when you are trying to relax while working out. I even complained to the managers and they dont care.
Ive been a member here for 3 months now. This gym is within walking distance to my house so I keep going back, but it is really not worth the price. Scroll down for a summary if you dont want to read my detailed review. The gym is extremely crowded during peak hours (after work, ~5:30-7:30pm) - to the point that I often cannot do every exercise Id like unless I stand and wait for a machine or bench to open up. The temperature always seems a few degrees too warm for a gym, making cardio uncomfortable. At least 50% of the time I cant find a clean toilet to use in the womens locker room. Unfortunately, I have seen men walk into the womens locker room before, and because there is no door they will see anything and anyone near the entrance. I have also had very unpleasant experiences with creepy guys waiting 2 feet from the machine I am using, standing and watching me use it, even during non-peak hours when half the gym is empty, which leads to a terrible gym culture. While the staff are friendly, they are extremely salesy. In order to use a free 5 day pass, you have to sit down and listen to their sales pitch where they actually make you choose a package. Then every day during the 5 day trial I would receive a phone call from the staff asking if I was ready to join. After I signed up, the personal trainer called me daily leaving me voicemails trying to sell me on personal training after I declined. It feels like I am working out at a car dealership.PROS:-Lots of cardio equipment-Free towels-Class pricing included in membership-Machines and weights are all relatively new, clean, and functionalCONS:-Car dealership-level sales approaches trying to sign you up for membership and personal training-VERY busy during peak hours-Frequently a few degrees too hot for comfortable exericse-Almost no classes offered after work hours/on weekends-Bathrooms often not clean-Awful culture (men walking into womens locker room, men standing 2 feet away watching you work out while waiting for your machine in an otherwise half-empty gym at off-peak hours)
They secretly charge me extra $50 per month. Be careful. Lots of kids in pool.
Dont listen to the bad reviews. New equipment, very clean. Keiser spin bikes. Staff was very friendly. I stopped in for a day pass.
This is nice and clean facility with a variety of devices and a pool. Staff are generally nice and helpful.
They dont clean the shower or bathrooms people come with dirty shoes clime to the sona no rules or regulations we a big group just come because of the swimming classes we love it but now it is just three days used to be four days we all live that
It doesnt make sense in this city sport. It claims they have willf but never ever consistently work. Its very very terrible. Would like to read something from the iPhone and consistently work and make frustrating. The staffs were not nice when you tell them the willf was not working. Helpless..will tell friend not join them because they dont have good service and also not nice..
Very spacious. Nice environment.
Overall the gym is a solid value (not bad, not great), but I have a problem with employees locking the door at 5:30pm when the posted closing time is 6pm. I understand wanting to get out on time after working on New Years Day, but that was ridiculous.
Decent club, old-school cancellation policy where I should mail the letter to the HQ, or come in person
Dishonest & rude sales manager... I went there with a friend with his guest pass for the first time to check it out before getting a group membership. The manager on duty (a young arrogant white dude) told me i had to go through his 15min pitch first. I asked if i could do that, and he said No, thats necessary for your safty... when said i just warmed up jogging and dont want to cool down. He said then i have to charge you! Apparently by charging me, Id have gotten a safty sheild all of a sudden! ... I didnt go there anymore and signed up my group at YMCA
Equipment and classes are good at this location but be very careful about billing while joining this Gym. They will not give you any sort of refund for any reason. In my case, I was charged full month fee on 24th Feb( for 24th Feb - 24th March period), I froze the membership on 25th Feb. But they did not give me any refund back for 29 days I didnt use the Gym. When I asked to freeze my membership, they did not tell me anything at all about no refund. Later I got the answer that I was 1 day late to freeze the membership. So I have to pay full fee of the month. Also if you want to cancel the membership, you have to tell them 1 month before. Because they have already taken last month fee when you join the Gym. They will not give any refund whatsoever. They annoyed me a lot about personal training session. Even when I repeatedly told them to not contact me for those, they kept calling. Finally when I asked them to flag my account to block all calls, they stopped calling me.Its a nice gym but very poor customer service and non accommodating billing.
They dont clean the locker rooms or bathrooms. The floors are so nasty. Ive never seen anyone mop this place.Pool area is nasty! Piece of gum in the showering area left for days!Very disappointed with the experience!
Its better than 24hr fitness, but thats not saying much. Expensive family plan, meaning no discounts.
Not only do they have real gym equipment but the views of the NorCal trainees is truly something. Very clean facility and not filled with thugs and rude plateheads on steroids
