I wanted to upgrade my BMW performance and Bavarium Autoworks was one of the dealers of the manufacturer I chose for my car. The shop was the farthest dealer from my home but reading their reviews and the amount the upgrade costs I wanted the best shop that could handle any problems. I talked to Erin and her knowledge and honesty convinced me this was the best shop for me. When the car was being worked on I quickly learned when upgrading the performance of a sports car there’s a lot of hiccups! Erin was communicative and transparent on several issues so I wouldn’t be shocked with delays or pricing. One of the issues I actually called the manufacturer and they told me if we have any serious issues with our products Bavarium Autoworks is where we would send you! No better approval than that and Erin and crew figured out my cars problem and the install was successful. I highly recommend Bavarium Autoworks and Erin for your car!

I took my Jeep in for some diagnostics and found out the engine was in bad shape. My Jeep now has a new engine and runs better than ever! Recently purchased my first BMW and I was in search of a good garage to get my 60k service and luckily one of my friend recommended this place.Stuff is beyond professional and knowledgable. They’ve did the most detailed post purchase inspection. Owner Erin is super responsive and honest for thing don’t need to change she told me straight and during the service always kept me updated on the process and finished my car on time.They also have nice courtesy cars but you need to give them 2 weeks notice. Also special thanks to Nathan for answering and educating me on all my rookie questions with patience and getting back to me with answers he didn’t have at the moment.I personally love working on my on car but of course there are certain things it needs to get done in a proper garage so I will highly recommend this garage for BMWs, but I also saw lots of other nice high end Mercedeses on the lifts.This garage is awesome, just what you would really expect from a good garage.

My factory 6yr/100k mile warranty has expired on my 335i last year. I searched for a new service repair and maintenance center and landed on Bavarium. Im always skeptical on posted reviews. However decided to give it a shot.For those reviewers commenting on customer service, especially about Erin, its absolutely true. Erin is a rock star and VERY attentive, responsive and direct. Also the mechanics I met at the workshop are friendly and a little more laidback vs typical factory auto service centers.My car has 95k miles (bought @ 3 miles) and planning to run it to the ground. Need a service, repair and tuning auto shop that I can trust.The detailed report and photos sent upon detailed inspection was pretty impressive, especially the wear and tear on suspension bushings. I dont even get this from BMW!Anyhow, I used to repair and tune cars as a hobby back in the days. Folks at Bavarium are legit. So far after about a month, car is well on its way past the 200k barrier. The rates are within reason. As a first time experience, the quality of work and customer interaction was solid.

Bavarium was amazing, all of the staff was so helpful and friendly. I had unexpected car trouble and a check engine light that came on right before the holiday weekend when I was supposed to go out of town and they took my car in and got an answer for me with an estimate the same day, despite already being busy. I was in a rush to get my car back as I had to pay for a rental while it was in the shop. They got it done within 2 days so I wouldn’t have to stay in a rental. They also texted updates while I was at work, which made it very convenient, as I have a job facing customers and can’t always answer the phone. I have had some bad experiences with my last car taking it to a dealership for repairs, which made this exceptional service all the more appreciated. Erin is the absolute best. I am a CPA for several automobile repair shops and this shop is absolutely one of the best I have ever encountered. Erin was so honest and installed a Dinan Stage 1 kit in my M235i. I could have used one of my clients to install the Dinan Stage 1 kit for free, however it was worth it to me to pay Erin to have the job done right. The results were way beyond my expectations. I definitely plan on using Bavarium again in the future for minor services that are still under warranty with the dealer as I would rather pay Erin to have the job done right then bring my vehicle to the dealer not knowing whether I can trust them or not. BTW I also own a Ferrari and I highly recommend Juan from Grand Prix Motors in Campbell if by chance anyone out there needs service on their own exotic. Erin is right up there with Juan in my opinion with regards to providing the highest level of service.

Our 3 series came off it’s factory service and we were looking for a independent shop. Perfect timing when we got Bavarium’s service special. Scheduled online with a quick response and service was done next day. Dealing with Covid practices was easy and everything done perfect. Will definitely use them on future work.

We have been to a few shops that work on BMWs and we have never been treated better than we were treated at this shop. In my opinion it is one of the most professional, friendly, efficient and honest shops any where around. We went into the shop because we heard from some friends that this shop was really good. We had a couple of misc items that needed to be fixed. They explained that they would inspect the car to make sure everything was functioning the way it should. After they inspected our car thoroughly gave us a detailed explanation of how the car was operating. The email they sent showed the things that were operating, the possible future repairs that will be needed and items that were not functioning properly. It was amazingly thorough. They explained our options for repairs and when we gave them the go ahead to do the work it was done quickly. We were provided with updates both by text and email as to the progress of the repairs and when the work was completed to our amazement the car was presented to us after it was detailed. This is a great shop and I highly recommend them!

This review is admittedly extremely late, as Ive been going to Bavarium Autoworks for 8 years. The shop has had 5 different names in that time and two different owners (4 of the previous names were the former owner) and ever since Erin bought the shop, Bavarium Autoworks is the best it has ever been. They are very reasonable with their pricing and do some of the best work on BMWs in the peninsula and south bay. I bought a 1995 M3 8 years ago in less-than-stellar mechanical condition and between then and now Id estimate 80% of the work that has went into transforming my car from a laundry list of problems to probably one of the most mechanically sound E36 M3s in the bay (especially for how high mileage it is) has been done by Bavarium. Its also worth noting that for a large chunk of that time I made very little money - certainly a significant amount less than your average BMW owner. Bavariums reasonable pricing is what allowed me to keep my dream car running, and restore it in the process. Bavarium offers a rare combination of high quality work, reasonable prices, and top-tier customer service.

Erin and the crew at Bavarium are hands down the most exceptional auto shop I’ve taken my BMW to. They easily worked with my extended warranty, sent me constant updates so I knew what the status of my car was and got it completed in a timely manner. When I picked my car up, it had been vacuumed and washed! I will never take my car anywhere else.

My 1987 M6 is running like new. Erin and her team took the effort to find parts from Germany and God knows where to replace those that were worn and failed. I would not trust my car to anyone else than Bavarium Autoworks. The talent in this shop is second to none.

I have found Bavarium Autoworks (formerly Carbahn) to be the finest BMW repair shop in the San Francisco Bay Area since my moving here in April 2013. They provide superb diagnostic capabilities, excellent work, unbelievable customer service, and strong value – typically at least 30% off of dealer prices. Owners Erin and Andy Gomes make a very strong team indeed, with Erin serving as the business manager and Andy serving as the shop foreman.Recently at a leading BMW dealer, I was unable to have my X3 drivetrain issue properly diagnosed, despite their having the vehicle for nearly two weeks. A Master Diagnostician and expert technician alike, Andy was able to solve the problem in short order. He determined (with absolute confidence) that the wastegate valve of the turbocharger was sticking, thereby causing a rattle and loss of requisite backpressure. While this issue required a replacement of the turbocharger, this option was much less costly than replacing the vehicle. Given that my X3 is running well, I expect to take it from 150k to 200k miles or more. Bavarium Autoworks will help me get there!

Im so happy with all aspects of the service provided! Erin communicated every step of the process in an easy to understand manner. My car is driving way smoother than when I brought it in, and I just brought it in for a noise, oil change, and brakes! The technicians did such a good job it came out better than expected. This place is great! Was referred here from a friend who has an older BMW. Very knowledgeable, friendly and fast service from Erin! She explained everything and made it easy for me to understand the issue and what they had to do to fix it! Cost of repair and service was competitive with other shops and way cheaper than the dealer, and honestly the service I received is better than my visits to the dealer. They also took care of my routine maintenance while the car was in for repairs, I was a little over due on it and it was nice not having to take it somewhere else. One stop shop!

Ive brought my car in for service and repair multiple times over the past year. Everytime a repair was needed, it was diagnosed and fixed quickly. Erin does an amazing job keeping me updated on whats going on with my car every time its in. She follows up promptly whenever I have questions or concerns and is always pleasant and helpful.

All work needed was explained clearly. Photos and notes were helpful to have. Didn’t know when my car was ready because apparently the texting app was not working. A call would have insured that communication was well received. Other than that, great service!

Our car needed a fair amount of work including a new oil pan gasket and new battery. I called Erin to make an appointment in a couple of days. She kept us informed about the work and what was needed. The shop tried to see if the old battery would work properly after being fully charged, but that didnt work -- a new battery was actually required. All the work was highly professional, and the drop off and pick up processes were painless and no-touch.

This place is amazing. My M3 has found its new doctor!! I’ve had terrible experiences at dealers before so when my car was having problems I did not want to go back to any of the local dealerships. I found this place and thought I’d give them a shot. I was seriously blown away!! Everybody was so friendly and knowledgeable. Erin helped me from the start and she really knows her stuff. The technicians also really know what they are doing. I’ve been given the run around at the dealerships before many times and it’s exhausting trying to find the truth. Andy from the shop came out and explained everything to me I a way that I totally understood, and my baby is back to purring again. I know I would have paid twice if not three times the amount I did if I had brought my car somewhere else. I can’t stress enough how great the team is there. We use it for towing our boat and we were getting ready to head out of town for a boating weekend on the hottest day of the year so far –The air conditioning stopped working! We called Bavarium in a panic to see if there was anything they could do for us – no one else had the time to look at our truck with such short notice.We talked to Andy, and he had us bring it to him, and he worked on it and was able to fix it well enough with just his spare parts and genuine know-how to get us on the road that day!It still works great – 2 weeks later – and when we get a chance to have the correct repair done on the truck – we are taking it back to Bavarium Autoworks – we know a great repair shop when we see it!Doesn’t have to a BMW or European automobile! Chris has been excellent working with me and the new replacement exhaust was put in and adjusted to the position of my liking. Also the dinan stage3 tune was updated from stage 2 and shown via bluebooth dinan app. Excellent experience.

Ive been taking my cars here since they were Dinan. Same great crew, same great service. In many repairs across multiple cars theyve always been honest in pointing out whats needed and whats not, helpful in providing services even when not the most profitable for them (like tire repairs) and most importantly, Ive never had a quality issue with the work or had to come back a second time for anything that was fixed. Chris at Carbahn was very communicative and detailed which was helpful for me to decide what work I want to spend my money on. They are honest about what needs to be fixed and what things can wait. I had some parts I needed help installing and they happily did the installs for me. I did not feel pressured to do any work I didnt want to which was a comforting feeling. Theyre not the cheapest but they certainly do a very clean and good job that makes it worth the money. I came here because I wanted people familiar with e36 M3s (and M cars in general) so they can make better recommendations on little things to fix while already under the car. CARBAHN was able to diagnose and solve a problem with my 2008 BMW 335i that stumped our regular BMW mechanic (who is also very good!). Along with their great work, they were thorough and also fair with pricing when it took several attempts to find the root of the problem. Along the way, Erin, our day-to-day contact kept us apprised (in a very cheerful fashion!) of what was going on and what the next steps would be. We were never left in the dark. I definitely recommend CARBAHN Autoworks of Mountain View and especially so if you have a unique problem that no one else can solve.

Competent, well organized and efficient, trustworthy, and highly professional service delivery provided for my 2009 BMW 650i Convertible. I had just had an AWFUL experience with another firm that claimed to be a BMW proficient mechanic and vendor but who was not. Caught him using used parts (bought on EBAY!) he sold me as new for my transmission repair and it failed 40 minutes after he delivered it to me as fixed -- WAY not cool!

Each time that I take my 540 in for a repair and/or an upgrade, my experience was good, fast and honest service. The reason why I did not give the five star rating is due to the higher than average labor cost. Still less than the dealer.

My family brings their cars here too, and have forever.Andy and his team recently did a full engine rebuild for my vehicle, and its like having a brand-new car! They do everything from massive projects like that to the small stuff, and Erin is so kind and thoughtful about how and when it makes sense to stage out the things my car needs: it really shows that they care in creating and maintaining personal relationships for the long term.
