I started working here. I was...cautiously optimistic because it is a call center type environment. Now, July 17, I could not be happier to have made this career decision. Everyone from the highest management to the maintenance staff - hi, Chandler!- is a delight to work with. And my little group of fabulous weirdos have never ceased to make even my worst days better. The encouragement, support and understanding here make it the perfect place for me.
Very unprofessional, the staff (not all) does nothing but gossip and talk about you the second you walk away. The managers & HR preferably. If you have a question or need help they simply ignore you while they sit around talking and not doing their job. They just simply do not care about you or any problems you may be having. You’re better off just not applying they make it sound good in the beginning but everyone ends up leaving for how unprofessional they are.
I work for Sykes. Great place. Great environment. Great people.
Worked here before. High rate of turnover. Training is rushed, and not well explained. Told you dont sell anything, but they wanted us to try to upsell when we could. If youre not part of the supervisor, or trainers clique, then youre not treated equally.
When I first started I thought this was the place for me ..I thought we were all family and it is ok to work there if you do not want to move up ...I done my job so well that they didn’t want to let me move up anywhere and I seen so many move up because of the boss or being in the click. So it just goes to show you that at this place hard work does not pay off and never will. Just stay in the right clicks or hang with the boss and you will be fine. There is no raises was there almost a year and never got a raise I guess they thought the small gift cards were enough and the tok out taxes for those too. Pure bull. Lied to all the time and it will continue. Now there are some good bosses there that recognize hard work but are shut down by higher ups in the company
Long read ahead... Okay, so I worked here for a few months before covid struck the United States. The training for intuit TurboTax lasted around 2 weeks when I was told it would be 6. During those 2 weeks the poor trainers had to cram in 6 weeks worth of information to over 30 employees. Most of whom did not retain a majority of the information we were supposed to know by the time we got on the floor. When working for TurboTax you are only allowed to wear a white button up shirt. Which is fine, but when they gave out those shirts to us trainees some of us heard the main bosses saying that If they wear those shirts tomorrow throw them out on the floor, and if they dont want to fire them. Like, how are you going to force feed us 6 weeks of information in 2 weeks, then throw us out to the wolves. None of us were comfortable with going on the floor so early. Once we were all on the floor, with little to no idea to what we are doing, we start asking the supervisors who are walking down the isles questions. They told us that we needed to use the message board instead of asking the people who were there for us to ask! Almost every higher up was snooty and snobby. But other than that, I loved the job. I met so many people who I would kill for. I ended up quitting that job after 3 or 4 months of working there due to covid.
Hiring process was quick! Training is fun and informative. Its not a super easy job but if you push through it seems well worth the effort. Happy to be a part of the team!
Best place to work ever!!! I enjoy coming to work everyday. It’s truly like a family environment here. There is always something going on for employees like snack giveaways, free coffee, free 5 minute chair massages, hot chocolate, games and activities, and so much more. There is usually about one a week. I couldn’t ask for a better place to work.
I was fired for absenteeism because I could not work from home during covid I explained to them why I was unable to work and that I had bought a desk and desk chair and fixed my internet arrangement to stop missing work after I spent hundreds of dollars to get back to work they fired me after telling me I was not going to be fired the next day they fired me and also made sure my unemployment was denied. This place does not care for its employees and makes your job as stressful as they can. I have never been more blatantly lied to by a workplace in my life. Would not recommend working here.
Ive been with Sykes now for almost 2 years and it is the best job i have ever had. There are many opportunities to advance and this place will make you blossom into a stronger person and develop you to be a leader. Im very lucky to be apart of such an amazing work family! If you put in the effort and have the will to give your best each day then Sykes will be very rewarding for you. I never leave work with out laughing and smiling at least once during my day. And that is hard to find in a job where you enjoy being there. Thank you again Sykes family! 💖
I love my job! The support system here is bar none. The family environment here is amazing. This job is not easy but if you stick with it you will learn so much. I couldnt ask for a better place to work.
Its a great place to work. The people make you feel like family and not just another employee. You work as a team and have so much support. Have never worked at a place that shows so much love and support. If you want to feel like family Come work at Sykes
They say you only get one chance to make a first impression and Sykes takes it to heart. They are an employee focused workplace that understands that employers need their employees as much as employees need a job. Im an old cynical soul but Sykes has an solid training program, constant peer training and promotion. Maybe not for everyone but is one of the best places Ive worked for.
I have been here since the end of April and I have to say it is the funniest place I have ever worked we laugh all the time. Just goes to show you can work hard and still enjoy your job. No sales, no telemarketing, no cold calling. The best recruiting job ever! A company that holds true to its values.
Sykes in Morristown is one of the best places I have ever worked! Been with the company for over a year and stuck with them throughout many changes, and I can definitely say it was worth it! Working with small business owners is so rewarding and my job allows me to not only come to work, but to make a difference! I love it!
Great place.
Ive been with the Sykes family for almost a year and a half. I love supporting small business owners, and to hear all the stories I get to hear from my customers who have invested every thing into their dream. Sykes is amazing for our community, from the pay, to giving back to the community, rather it be in a school supplies drive, or a stuffed animal drive for the sheriffs department, Im glad to be a part of it all!
Decent place .. no one takes accountability for anything. Mangers tell you what you want to hear..the pay is okay..the bonuses are great sad part tho is you can never bonus.. they make impossible. If you have health issues good luck
New to Sykes, but the training so far is great. They don’t set you up with the expectation that you’ll know everything right off the bat, but they do give you a plethora of resources at your disposal for any questions you have. I’ve never worked at a call center or done anything in Quickbooks or with small businesses but that really doesn’t matter, the training is phenomenal, you just have to pay attention. Everyone there is great, they want you to feel like family and tell you we’re all one big family.
I made it through three steps of the interview process over the course of three weeks (overkill for a call center), and was told by a team lead whom I spoke to for about 30 seconds that I was not a good fit because she did not believe I could be empathetic over the phone. I have many years of call center and customer service experience plus several good references that say otherwise but apparently the knee-jerk opinion of one person cancels all that out. What a colossal waste of time. Was later told to come back and apply for other positions. Um...no thanks.
If your wanting a change in Career. Sykes located in Morristown is the place to come!Wonderful, Friendly and Supportive individuals are here.I just began my first week of training out of (5)I can honestly say I was a case of nerves the first day, however, by Friday, I was with familyLove it, and cant wait to see what awaits me at Sykes!Stephanie Lingerfelt
The people are great and the benefits are awesome. Glad I work here!
Amazing place to work. I have been waiting years to find such a positive, fun, engaging enviornment with room for advancement. Great earning potential and no sales. Tons of friendly people that are happy to be at work makes the days go great and you look forward to coming back the next day.
I have been with Sykes for 3 yrs and I am so happy we are not doing sales anymore. Our new client Intuit is amazing I knew nothing about Quickbooks when they came to Sykes but Sykes trained me and now I have been promoted. Intuit is the best thing that could of happen to Sykes and Morristown.
I lik my job for the most part but there is definitely changes that could be made to help employees excel i have found some of the higher ups tend to have egos bigger then the building itself but for the most part i havent had many issues with sykes motown made some awesome friends and keep coming back to work for more but i would only work here is you can handle the escapees from the padded room lol
I’ve been with Sykes for 8.5 years and I absolutely love my job, my team, my co-workers, my bosses, and my entire work family. Sykes provides more than just a job, they provide stable careers in a professional, fun, and family oriented environment. SYKES IS THE PLACE TO WORK IN MORRISTOWN!
Other than some issues with discrimination and multiple members of management sexually harassing agents and engaging in inappropriate sexual relationships with agents being over looked by both upper management and HR; it was a wonderful place to work. Great pay, great benefits. You just have to deal with a hostile work environment in exchange for the great pay and benefits.
I applied for this job to make a career change. I am so glad I did. This is hands down the best place that I have ever worked for and the best co-workers that you could ever work with. I am very proud to have the opportunity to help others and become part of the sykes family
Great co-workers and supportive management.
I moved from Virginia to work here and it was by far the best decision that I have made in a long time. I love my job and look forward to what the future has in store.
Amazing place and environment to work. So friendly and your team becomes your family. I love my job!!
Not a place to shop they employ people doing phone services. Ive heard there hard to work for but glad there is some American phone services out there and not all are done through India were they speak broken english or try to scam you some how.
I have little detail of this place but my mom works here and I wanna make it feel like she’s doing a good job with the ratings
Ive been apart of the Sykes family for over 5 years. With any job, you have the positives and the negatives. I choose to come to work everyday to spend time with my work family. We have several open positions, and I encourage everyone to apply!
I am a long-time user of Quickbooks Online software, as well as Quickbooks software. Ive had multiple interaction calling them to help me, and majority of the time, they were of great help. Now I work here - great atmosphere, great training and, although there are pressures involved (it is a call center after all), managers are willing to see you succeed if you put your best foot forward always.Hands down, a great company to work for, and the change that upper management is doing to create a better rapport is being noticed. The old employees that are still here also testify of the same.
Sykes is awesome!! I love the atmosphere and the people. They are very family oriented
Applied here and was hired, not knowing anything about the company or what they did. I have worked call centers before and came in expecting it to be like all the rest... wow was I wrong! My trainer was the best Ive ever had, my team lead is an awesome guy, I am so happy here! It is a call center, you get irate customers but you also get the ones who are happy you are here to help. Everything you need to do the job is easy to find, if its more complicated you have awesome floor support! I recomend Sykes to everyone! No sales involved, no upselling, no pushing the saving of a customer (minor trying, offer downgrades or 1/2 off for 3mo). So yes, it has its ups and downs but every job does, so far way more ups! Come check it out for yourself! :)
I work here, so yes great place. As any it does have its flaws, and we work every dau to make it better and remove the flaws.
Are you tired of working at a place that doesnt care about your well-being??? Been there done that! Im not here to tell you BS, but working for Sykes has many benefits and for one they believe in taking care of their employees. This is truly a relaxing environment and has a friendly and family oriented environment. If you dont want to feel like youre cared for and a part of the Sykes family then dont come here. Stay in your miserable position where youre at now. Just saying...
The best place to work. They really care about their employees and having fun while working.
Great atmosphere, great people... just all around good place to work!
It’s only my third day and I have honestly loved ever minute of it.
Great people, fun place to work, good benefits and extras. Seems like they are always doing something for the employees
Best place I have worked in all my 50 years of working, leaders that care, and a family environment
I’ve worked here for three days now and it’s honestly one of the best places I’ve worked at.
Awful management. They will not hire anyone that has had a simple arrest. They act like anyone who has ever been arrested is a pos. And judge you for your past mistakes. The management are very awful people!
Was lied to but thats okay because God had a better plan
I have worked there 3 years. It has changed over that time and there is no sales and plenty of advancement .It is a growing wonderful place to work.
Amazing place to work!amazing people!! Basically family! I love my job!
Theres a reason for the super-high turnover at this place.
This is one of the best jobs I have ever had! Everyone is like a big family!
They want you to be a QuickBooks know-it-all. You end up getting trained in working in a call center with highly irritated people
Sykes is the bees knees!! One of the best jobs Ive ever had! Fo Shizzle
The majority of the management here treats everybody below them like theyre unimportant garbage. Ive never had a company insult me when I decided I no longer wanted to work for them, yet this company did. Needless to say, the staff is literally scum and treats everybody else like theyre meaningless.
Its a wonderful place to work at, with a family environment, great pay, and most of all great people!
Holy cow, this place called Sykes... To start off with, 5-6 weeks of paid training... They invest in you from the start. I worked there for several months while they were taking inbound calls for AT&T customers and what a freaking nightmare that was. Thankfully, they screwed up that contract and we were taking FEMA disaster relief calls from victims from the Hurricanes, floods and fires, Exedra. That part of the job was absolutely dad but rewarding, though it didnt last long at all before they laid a bunch of us off. They do, however, adhere to the legal policies and procedures just like a company should. One more thing, if you need employment, they will hire you with no experience whatsoever, in case youre concerned about that. ALL APPLICATIONS BEGIN ONLINE.
Sykes is a great place to work at! So many benefits, plus we are all a family!!
I love working for Sykes very nice place to work very friendly place
Been going 2 years strong and highly recommend to anyone
If you want to learn QuickBooks this is the place to go. Theyll help educate you than they want you in a call center
I work here. I currently the best place I could work at so far.
Very laid-back place to work. But its getting more uptight.
Poor leadership and management skills. Only a few agents I spoke to knew anything about the problems which I was having.
I couldn’t ask for a better place to work! Sykes has changed lives in the community. Sykes is THE place to work!
Best place to work hands down!
Great job! People are so friendly!
Its a GREAT place to work.
I went in for an interview and it was nice I guess
I LOVE THIS PLACE
Wonderful place to work.
The place flat out sucks
I love my job!
Daughter is a manager there
They want you to sell to angry called in customers. They dont train you properly!! They want you to lie and thats not good for anyone, employees or customers.
Sykes has done nothing but improve, from the environment to the management. They make sure you get to where you want to be, and support you in every way possible. No more sales. We get the customers issue resolved.
Good place to work
Great place to work
Great place to work
This place is a joke
Horrible horrible place
Very cocky bosses.
Great staff
Rude folks
Work
*Most* of the employees Ive come in contact with at this business seem to genuinely like this job. Ive never seen a company try harder to retain employees. That being said, the only reason this company gets 4 stars instead of 5 is the metrics that they strive to hit weaken the customer service imo.
