Great place! Awesome selection of hiking/outdoor items in stock, friendly staff and great prices.

Everytime I go there or call Im met with a rude tone manager or employee. The manager made a rude comment and rolled his eyes when he did not agree with my view of a book. They are very short to me in person or on the phone. If you do not agree with there political views or bother them with a question, be prepared to get snubbed. I never brought up my views on certain subjects with them, the manager decided to poke his nose in and be completely unprofessional and rude because we differ in our thoughts. I have now decided to buy elsewhere than support a company and employees like this.

Great place to get deals on Outdoor sports gear! Snowboard and Ski gear! Friendly helpful staff! Just got my snowboard serviced before hitting the slopes! They did a great job and squeezed me in before the shop closed on a Sunday evening!

Went in to ask about renting skis for my kids and buy a new set up for me. When asking about making rental reservations ahead of time the older man (not the owner) at rental counter was extremely rude with answering simple questions. For example, saying “well that’s just the way you do it because it’s busy” and “you can take it up with the owner if you want”. Most people experienced in customer service would make an effort to answer questions kindly and at least show a small effort to try to accommodate a customer, if possible.

You may not know this store is here, I personally have driven right by it many times. If you are out on this side of Morganton, you should stop by for a visit. They have shoes, clothes, sporting goods, and lots more. The prices are good, and they have a huge sale each year, one is going on right now (May 13th).

Called to inquire about ski bib rentals and was told to come Saturday no need to reserve ahead of time. Arrived today 2.20 and didn’t have the two sizes I needed. Do better.

Really Really like this place would recommend it to anyone and I most definitely will be making several more trips myself.

Customer service is top notch. The dude that helped me with my board “younger dude”, really took his time and made sure everything was perfect.

Nice people, but super lazy. They had 1 snowboard and 1 ski to do for the rest of the day - turned down other customers for a tune up and said they couldn’t even wax a board for me (what’s this take? 10-15 minutes at most)...never mind the fact that it took 2 of them to stand around and tell me this and how busy they were. They also thought I had left and continued to stand around and talk but now about me and how they should have quoted me $200. Can’t imagine why small businesses die...

This is a really great store for serious gear and for fun items. They have a great selection of shoes, clothes and gear, and the owner is very nice and knowledgeable.

My wife and I were in two weeks ago and purchased two new sit-on kayaks. They were priced competitively and the service was outstanding. Great selection for all your outdoor recreation needs!

I was visiting from out of town and needed to rent a kayak and paddleboard. Ordinarily, it might be difficult to put both a tandem kayak and a paddleboard on top of a Honda Accord but they were able to it! If you’re a city dweller and your visiting Lake Janes for the week/weekend this is the place to go! They also have a great selection of outdoor bro gear like north face and Patagonia

The staff here is very knowledgeable about the products they carry. However, the selection is a little Limited. If you remember that it is a sports store and not an Outfitter, youll do well.

Good selection of top brand name items for outdoor enthusiast. Hiking, backpacking, canoeing, kayaking, and snow skiing. Just dont look for a discounted price, which is why I gave them the 4 star rating, but you get top quality items.

Great local sports shop if you plan on buying supplies for mountain trips. Also liked the local logos they have for lake james and morganton.

Ive been shopping at CBS Sports for years and Im always happy with the products and service. Tons of great gear for beginners and gear-heads alike. Awesome seasonal rentals for skiing, snowboarding in the winter and canoeing, kayaking, tubing and SUPing in the summer. Best of all, youre helping a longtime local business so you can feel good about it!

CBS Sports is the best place in Morganton to buy outdoor apparel and gear. They offer high-end equipment for rock-climbing, kayaking, and backpacking. I would highly recommend CBS Sports!

** READ THIS REVIEW!**You just dont find many people like this anymore. I & five friends showed up on Saturday of Easter weekend to rent canoes for a day. We discovered after getting there that Easter Sunday was one of only three days a year theyre closed, & we wouldnt be able to return them. Rather than let our plans be ruined, Brian & a couple other employees agreed to take time out of their Easter Sunday to run up to the shop for us to drop them off. If that wasnt enough, they let us borrow a trailer for the boats so we wouldnt have to make multiple trips. Who goes out of their way like this for strangers? These are just GOOD PEOPLE... and by the way, the shop is awesome. Killer gear thats very hard to find in brick & mortar stores anymore. Go there.

The staff have always been the shining stars of this retailer. Going up to the mountains you dont have many choices on this side of town, but they dont use this as a reason to be just good enough, theyre great !

Hate the staff, hate the prices, and hate they dont dont realize their are great athletes here who take their sport serious so get rid of your sloppy inventory and step it up so I wouldnt have to drive to Asheville or Raleigh to get the stuff I really want.

Great staff, Brian Searcy (the owner) is also an outdoorsman and very knowledgeable about equipment and he sells some of the best money can buy. If you are serious about having outdoor gear you can bet your life on (like Winter hiking and camping in the mountains) this is the place to go.

Get store just came in on my way to linville gorge to do some backpacking and they had everything i needed in a hurry from stoves to fuel and mountain house food. i will be stop in every time im in town.
