AC went out! Both units, upstairs and down. I did not know who to call because we are relatively new to the area. I talked to a friend of mine that used to work on AC units and he told me to try Race City Heating and Air. I called them Monday morning and they said that they could fit me in on Tuesday afternoon. Well the Blaine (Technician) called me around 1 PM and said that he was 15 minutes out. Showed up at the door with his tools and right to the upstairs he went. First he looked at the Air handler and said that it had a blown fuse, replaced it, then came back down stairs and checked the thermostat, it was working again. He had to go in and make a few settings changes and bam it was working. Went outside to check the AC unit and said it was a mess inside the unit itself. I had someone come by last year when the Capacitor went out and he put a booster on a bad capacitor, knowing it would fail and it did, caught fire. So I replaced the capacitor last year but did not clean up the smoke from the unit. He then checked the AC unit for the downstairs and after a few minutes had a solution to its problems. Then the dreaded charge came... Guess what, it was a lot less than I was expecting. pennies on the dollar compared to what I thought he was going to charge me. Super professional guy and a great place to go for AC issues. I will be calling them back each season to have them look everything over and make sure it is in tip top shape. Thanks Blaine!

Race City did an incredible job replacing my HVAC system for a reasonable price. They were very friendly, knowledgeable, professional and punctual. It was a more difficult install because of the location but they got it done in 5 hours. And they were also very neat.All is working well at this point. This place is fantastic! My central air stopped working today so I called Race City Heating & Air Conditioning and they had a technician at my house in less than 30 minutes. The technician, Blaine, was so friendly and knowledgeable. He not only resolved the issue but also taught me about the system so I can prevent future problems. The service was also very affordable. On top of that, the representative who answered my call was quite possibly the nicest woman I’ve ever spoken to. She made me feel so much better during a stressful time. This was an extremely pleasant experience. I highly recommend!

We are relatively new to the area, so we did not have a contractor at the time that our air conditioner went down. Fortunately, we called Race City to see if they could help as the temperatures were in the high 90s. The customer service person went above and beyond by sending one of their technicians, Blaine, over to our house within a couple of hours. I had an AC problem with 80 degree temps on my 2nd floor. Race City Heating & AC checked in with me before their scheduled service time, evaluated and explained the problem, and fixed the problem. The appointment only lasted about 30-45 minutes and the service man was very polite and informative.

Lady answering phone was very helpful and after calling 3 places and getting responses such as we arent taking new customers to we can be out Tuesday Race City said we will work you in. This was today, Saturday, Memorial day weekend. Justin came out in a timely manner, repaired unit in a timely matter, and was polite. Highly recommended!

I was very impressed with this company. I had called another company and scheduled an appointment but found out they sub-contracted their appointments out to Home Depot. I cancelled with them and called Race City. The technician came out as scheduled and fixed our issue very quickly and efficiently. It was even done under the price quoted! I will definitely call Race City for my yearly maintenance from now on! Great company and highly recommend.

Justin was awesome to work with. I had my second floor system replaced and he was able to address all my concerns. My unit was installed in May 2018 and had great cooling and heat from the new unit. It replaced my 17 year old unit and actually noticed a reduction in my electric bill. Installation team was the cleanest I’ve dealt with. When I’m ready to replace my other unit I will be calling Justin again. I researched prices and units and found Race City to be reasonable. You get what you pay for but the team installing it makes the difference. Great job guys. I made my review after I had experience with the new unit.

Our HVAC stopped working the day before a home inspection for a home that we have under contract. They fit me in immediately when I called, and were there within 2 hours! Race City Heating & Air Conditioning is the BEST!!! I have used them in the past for repairs on my home heat unit and Justin was always on time and fixed it. I bought a foreclosure and of course they took the heat unit with them. I had several bids and Race City won! The quote was detailed and very professional. Some of the other ones that I got, were well it will be about this....been down that road. They said they would be out on Thursday to install the new unit and were right on time, very professional and did an awesome job. I would not think of using anyone other than Race City Heating.

Our technician (Blaine) showed up on time and withinten minutes had identified the problem. He explained what it would take to fix our air conditioning and then went right to work. Called in yesterday that my drain pan was leaking and was given a next day appointment which was awesome. Blaine came out and within a few short minutes had everything back up and running and the leak stopped. I have used two other companies in the past, but Justin at Race City has seen and repaired just about every kind of problem you can think of. I called during a bad storm as a friend had referred me to them. They showed up on time and I had heat within an hour. Technician was very respectful and knowledgeable. I had used a bigger company in the past and was used to high prices so when I got my bill I was relieved to see it was in the $500 range like the other company would always charge. Great Company! I called Race City after having another person work on my heat pump and could not figure out the problem. I called in the morning and they said they were very busy today but they would make sure they got to me. At 5:30 pm Nick Keziah showed up in the freezing cold to get me started. After 5 minutes Nick found the problem and I had heat once again. If you are like me and read reviews, stop reading and give them a call.

We have lived in our home well over 15 years with the same ancient heating/ac unit. Weve had some issues over the years with the unit coming on and off due to electrical/thermostat problems. All others before have attempted to sell us a new, big, and expensive replacement unit because of the obsoleteness of the electrical equipment. Being of automotive background, Ive always known that the furnace itself appears to be what we call an iron duke and the controls are actually the obsolete problem. Justin and his crew are the only ones who have stepped up and done what Ive always known was possible: a difficult and complicated re-wiring job to modern day thermostat controls that not everyone in the industry is capable of doing. Or wants to! Its been almost six months and everything is working great at a fraction of what a new unit would have cost. Need I say more? Joe and Terri Carbon

I had a technician come out and diagnose a problem with our air condition unit. I was told it was a bad capacitor and the part was going to cost $216. When the tech left to go pick up the part, I called United Refrigeration and found out the part was actually $20. I did not allow them to complete the work. This should be a crime. I will never use this business again. EVER!
