Stopped by for a quick flat tire repair. They quickly dismissed me as they were solidly booked for the entire week. On the flip side, glad they were upfront about it. Didnt feel welcome at all.

This place is AMAZING! We were on a road trip and had a flat tire. We called every other place in town who could not fix the tire in time for us to continue on the road. I thought that I needed new brakes but after the technicians at Scotts took a look at my truck - and three technicians drove it - they convinced me that the brakes were fine and good for many miles more. They could have easily just installed new brakes and charged me for unnecessary work. Instead they did what honest people do. Did nothing when it was the right thing to do.This is an honest and knowledgeable shop.

We had hit a wall with trying to fix a noise in our brakes. So we called Scotts on the morning of September 13th.We dropped our car off the same day at 10am, and by 1:30pm I had picked our car up and was headed home NOISE FREE.

While camping at a campground in nearby Ridgway, I noticed a leak under the rear differential of my 2004 Ford F250. I called several repair shops and they all said thatthey were over 2 weeks out from even being able to look at it. The staff in the office is great maybe I just visited on an off day. The mechanic left my air filter out and broke a wire on my ignition coil. So my car ran like a bucket, I mean its a hoop d already but I mean it ran tough. So I pop the hood at work and have our shop mechanic look at it and he pointed out the mistakes. Im super disappointed that this is what happened after being treated so well before sorry guys but you gotta step the game up

Tire service was done quickly and at a reasonable price. I also had an emission light come on and they quickly looked at it and recommended to take it to a Honda dealership instead of charging me more to run diagnostics they weren’t even able to do anyway. Ivey and everyone we’ve talked to are incredibly nice and helpful!

Jim and crew were awesome. I had some bad luck with another local shop so I went to Scotts after reading the positive reviews. They ordered brakes, rotors, and a few other parts for me, and had them next day. They also did a comprehensive inspection on my Jeep and showed me a very detailed report (with photos) of things that might need attention at XYZ miles as well as 1 critical component that needed replacing immediately. They also had a loaner vehicle available so I could get some errands done. I highly recommend Scotts for any auto needs !

This was the best automotive care experience I have ever, and maybe will ever have in my life. Going on a roadtrip from Minnesota to Utah with a stop in Monterose, I had the unfortunate occurrence of an oil leak and coolant leak at the same time. I had to leave town on Tuesday and didn’t get them the car til Monday afternoon. Tuesday, none of the parts came in in time but these wonderful folks did everything they could to get all of the parts needed the day of and their workers were willing to stay after close to get it done for me. Not only that but I couldn’t stay in my hotel all day and they not only shuttled me to their shop but kept me wonderful company, I felt right at home with everyone at the shop! Long story short, these are amazing people and I’m so great full to do business with them, car is running great and I left with high spirits because these are people who truest care. I came looking for car help and left feeling as though I made some friends.

Top notch service providing excellent high tech diagnostic and communications. Emails include detailed pictures of parts and procedures so you know exactly what the mechanics are repairing.

Jim was very good. He got me in same day (Tues before Thanksgiving) even though other places were a week out. The problem was diagnosed in a matter of hours and we had a solution before the end of the day. It seems clear they want to get it right and treat people well.

According to the local Ford deaker, I needed a special fuel cleaner additive for my car. Auto Zone did not have it. They sent me to Black Canyon. The owner was very informative about the additive and cautioned me how to use it. He was very friendly and his service facility was very clean and modern.

Ive used Black Canyon auto since it opened originally as a Midas store. Dwayne and his crew have earned my unwavering trust over the years and consistently deliver quality service with dignity and honesty.In my most recent visit, Dewayne was honest enough to turn away a job that wouldve lined his pocket with around $3400 worth of work. He had the decency to let me know that this repair was likely a repair that would be covered by an extension of the original manufactures warranty and that it was in my best interest to take it directly to the dealership. Without his/their knowledge and honesty this job wouldve cost well over there thousands dollars. However armed with the knowledge he shared with me I was able to get the repairs needed without a major out of pocket expense. Because of Dewayne I knew to enquire about an manufactures extended warranty. Even the dealership wasnt aware of this extension of warranty. After a few conversations with the dealership and with Dodge directly it was discovered that this was in fact a covered repair even though the dealership originally said I would not be.I can not thank you guys enough!-Jason

We went to Montrose for funeral services and our vehicle needed unexpected repairs. Saw this shop on the way in so called them them and the owner got us in and had our Jeep done by the next day so we were able to come home safely. They even drive us back to the hotel we were staying at. Very honest and helpful with reasonable prices for last minute repairs. We are so grateful for this auto shop and the owner we would highly recommend them

Passing through, noticed one of my tailpipes was hanging a little too low. Showed up a little before lunch, they put it right up on a rack and right away noticed a U-joint was in terrible shape. With my permission, the part was on order before they broke for lunch. Had a couple other things done while waiting to get the right part delivered, was on the road again by 4:30 that afternoon. The invoice was fair, and I left a little extra in appreciation for their sharing my sense-of-urgency. Road noise was greatly reduced.

I went in to have my pickup inspected as it was having some issues. The gentlemen at this shop did everything they could to assess the truck and find an issue. Since the problem is one involving the drive train, they could not identify the problem. They were straight up and told me from the start that if it was an issue with the transmission that they would be unable to help. After it was all said and done they waived the inspection fee. If I lived near this location it would be my go to mechanic. These guys are genuine people running an honest business.

The service advisor wont even talk to you on the phone after I asked an estimate on a common repair.. they must be working in the stone age and dont have access to cheap computer software to help with estimates.. Id definitely go elsewhere they will rip you off

Finally an honest auto repair shop! I went here after hearing good things from neighbors and after having being cheated several times by other places around town. (As a woman, mechanics usually assume Ill believe anything they say because I dont know any better).Dwane made an honest assessment of what I needed, and what it would cost. (At an incredibly reasonable price too!).He didnt upsell me a bunch of parts I didnt need, and a bunch of unnecessary services.They got the work done in record time, and when I went to pick up my car it turned out that theyd done some minor extra work that they decided was needed during the service, beyond the scope of what I had agreed to, and then they DID NOT CHARGE ME for it, but only for what was agreed to.A stellar shop thats gained a loyal customer.

Dwane saw us first thing in the morning and diagnosed the issue, got parts in, and had us back on the road quickly and for a fair price. He didnt try and pull a fast one on us, only replaced the parts that needed to be replaced and was true to the estimate. Were I to be in montrose with car troubles again, Id go nowhere else!

We went in to get a plug for a tire. So we asked to get it patched and he told us he didnt have time. So i call to get the owners name and come to find out that the man that was in there was the owner (Dwayne). He was extremely rude and hung up on me. To tell someone that you dont have time to fix a tire is not great customer service. Especially when your open and have no one in your store. Would not recommend this place!!

My family and I were in Montrose on vacation and I noticed our SUV had developed a squeak in the brakes. I was concerned there might be damage or a mechanical condition that had caused unusual wear since the breaks were inspected just before we left our home in Oklahoma. I drove to the shop and arrived 15 min before opening hours and was greeted by the owner as we both pulled up at the same time. He provided me with the cost of inspecting all 4 wheels and the cost of a complete break job should it be a worst case scenario. It was a fair price for both and the parts, if needed, were very high quality parts (OEM). I was expecting that since he got the OK on the price of a full break job, there was a chance he would suggest a full break job (weve all had those experiences.). He made a good pot of coffee and we visited while the mechanic inspected the breaks and to my surprise the mechanic brought in the brake pads to show me that the pads still had lots of wear, he said they were all wearing well and evenly, and it seemed the only problem was a little glazing of the wheel rotor and there was no need for a break job, just a little cleaning of the one rotor. While the mechanic finished up Dwaine made some great suggestions on places we should be sure to see while we were in the area, and a good place to fish. Though he didnt reveal his exact spot to fish he did show me pictures of some of his daily catches and told me of bait, tackle, and techniques that he normally found successful. I went in with a possible problem and left felling like I had made a couple of new friends. Not only was service excellent, the prices reasonable, and the business trustworthy, the shop, the waiting area, and the bathrooms were all very clean! I watched other customers drop off their vehicles and it was obvious that this crew was very conscientious about customer satisfaction. I whole heartedly recommend Black Canyon Auto Repair.
