I’ve been a customer for almost four years and I have ever had a bad experience. Joy along with the whole staff (Vicky, Annie, Nicole and everyone else) are wonderful. Always clean, always attentive and I think very fairly priced. Throughout the pandemic they have been able to provide a clean and safe environment. The establishment is clean, and follows covid protocols. The pedicure chairs are massaging chairs. What is nice they have shades that come between the chairs for added privacy and health safety. There is also an over abundance of nail colors to choose from which is great! They also have nail art designs you can add. The drawbacks… they are about $10 more than other places. It’s downtown Montclair so metered parking and sometimes lots and on street parking full so may need to use parking garage. Overall I would return to see if the services are consistent as that is what I look for. I don’t mind spending extra money for good quality services in a friendly environment.

To give them credit ahead, I went on a Sunday when the place was packed and there was barely time for mindfulness. That aside, the culture of the place felt like an assembly line, where one goes to get serviced (like a car) and sent home with a fresh paint job. There was nothing of personal touch. After getting pushed around a few times by the supervisor in an attempt to earn my business (even got offered a 3-minute creepy shoulder massage), I got up and left. If you want potential effectiveness over spa-like, relaxing personal care, this is your shop.

Best place around. Clean, attentive, relaxing! Joy and her whole team make you feel welcome. Recommend calling in advance or making an appointment- they’re a popular spot!

Paid $68 for a ombre design gel mani. Plain and simple nail design. 10000% overpriced. Polish is far from my nail bed so one week in it already looks like I need to get my nails done again. Also very splotchy work...technician used her fingers to create the ombré effect. Went somewhere else and paid $35 for the exact same thing. Your better off going somewhere else worth your money. Also $30 for a pedi that looked horrible, missed half the sides on toes. Paid $98 total and left very disappointed.

Overpriced! I was charged adult prices for my daughter. They didnt clean cuticles. When I got home I had to repaint my toe nails because color was not what I wanted and my feet still looked dry and as if I didnt get a pedicure.

My favorite nail salon! I’ve been coming here since I was in college, when they were in their original location. The service was great then, and it’s still great now in their new, bigger location. Covid safety protocols are taken seriously, and they treat each customer with care, whether you are getting a simple manicure or the most expensive spa treatment and massage. Worth every penny!

I only come here to get my eyebrows cleaned up. Not the first time. Meh...overpriced and they didnt really do any extra details outside of waxing (tweezers, trim). I have thick eyebrows due to my spanish genes. Paid $13 for a mediocre job.

The precautions they take to ensure preventing COVID are excellent! When you sign in, they have a separate pen holders for used and unused pens. So you dont have to worry about touching a pen that could be contaminated. Every pedicure chair and manicure table is appropriately distanced and shielded.I felt relaxed because the salon has provided a safe environment without compromising quality of service.

I made an appointment, I didnt feel welcome by the person at the front desk so I walked out. The customer service was horrible. I wont patronize this establishment nor would I recommend it.

This is my go to nail salon. They are not the cheapest around but they are reasonable and everyone who works there is lovely. Additionally, I have been going for years and my daughter transitioned (she was assigned male at birth) and the owner was just lovely. She never made her feel weird about it and was so amazingly accepting. For that, I will go there as long as I live in the area. 💅💋💃👫👬👭

Today was my first time coming here and I’m impressed to say the least. Despite what other reviews may say, I think this is a solid nail salon and it’s worth the price it is. I got the Green tea spa pedicure and although my nail tech did not take care of my feet with the pressure and intensity style I am used to, she did her absolute best and most importantly, took her time and paid attention and got the job done successfully. I was going to give 4 stars, but because how well she took care of me, I’ll give it 5 because I felt special today. My feet and legs got an experience that is now apart of my self care routine. They feel soft & so much better than what it was before. For $50, you get a scrub, mask, lotion, hot stone, callus removal, and aroma therapy with a shoulder massage. I will definitely be back regularly, definitely should have gotten my membership card...Excellent job

Clean and very personable staff. Parking can be a bit of a hassle but the quality of the work and great atmosphere is definitely worth it. Great place for you to bring a friend or your SO as they have a separate space in the back for 2 people to get pedicures.

I was so excited to find a salon that was clean and beautiful around the corner from me, however things are not what they seem. They will charge you high prices for a minimal job. Regardless of making an appointment they are ALWAYS late and always rushing and you will get a minimal gel manicure at best. I tried to love it several times, but they are not worth going back to. The lady rushes and when I asked her to fix it or do it a certain way she just ignored me. The massages they give meanwhile you get your manicure are nothing to write home about either for the price. The lady at the front counter before you even have a chance to mention a tip (which I leave) will forcefully ask about tips for everyone without giving a second thought. They just dont care about enough about quality or manners and are late and unorganized. To add I purchased their membership card and they get annoyed when you want to use points etc. Not the place you will ever go to feel relaxed or get a nice manicure.

Atmosphere was clean and well put together. The staff was very friendly and they did a very nice job on my pani/medi.

My daughter and I go here quite often for our pedicures. Very good service, very clean and affordable pedicures for what gets done. We like that they use the hot stones, individual sanitized tools for each client and you get a upper body massage at the end. They also offer a small room for two guests to be more private. I recommend scheduling an appointment that way, you get better accommodated. Staff is always welcoming and takes the time to remember you the more you come.

A gel manicure and gel pedicure cost $115.Very pricey, to me at least.The environment is very nice and clean. The nail techs were nice. However, I was told on the phone and in person before I was seated that a gel manicure and pedicure was $30 and $35, respectively. So a total of $65 altogether. I was okay with that as that is $5 more than what I usually spent. When I was finished, they told me it would be $115. I told her that I was told it was $65 together. The lady seemed to have an attitude and repeated what she said. I just paid, tipped the techs, and left. If I knew that beforehand, I wouldnt have came there. However, I was told two times the prices so I feel as if they are a little dishonest.

If I could give more stars I would. I’ve been getting my nails done for 6+ years and no place has come close to what New Montclair Nail& Spa offers. The environment is great including the cleanliness and music. Exceeded any expectation that I could have had. Jackie was great, personable, funny, and provided the best nail service I’ve ever had. It will make you never want to leave. I couldn’t be happier!

The gel manicure and pedicure is perfect every time. I would suggest that u call and make an appointment first. They will let you know if you will have to wait and mange the expectation honestly. My First time here and May did an excellent job with my nails

NEVER AGAIN! Decided to try this place on a recommendation rather than my usual spot and five minutes into my pedicure I get cut (not nipped, CUT...blood flowing from my toe kind of cut). I would post the photo of my bloody toe if I could. The woman doing my pedi was rough and far from gentle. Needless to say that was the first and last time I’ll go there. I limped across the street to my usual spot, Nails 2000, who took care of me like they always do. Lesson learned: stick with what’s familiar. I don’t recommend New Montclair Nail & Spa unless you want to take the risk of getting cut. Some of these “pretty” salons with bells and whistles are the very ones to stay away from. Select carefully.

Best pedicures you will Ever get! These women spend a full hour on just your feet!! Theyre meticulous about cleaning them up and making them look pretty, and most of all about pampering you. The best part is that they use hot stones to massage your legs after theyve already applied lotion and given you a nice massage with that. My sister and I had gone to so many salons, so unhappy with the results. Now we Only come here. She lives in Woodbridge so thats really saying something haha The ladies here are friendly and courteous and when they sit you down to dry, you even get a brief massage. Just to help loosen you up. They do have a masseuse on staff who will give you a quick shoulder rub if the ladies are busy, and yes hell try to get you to buy a session. But honestly? Im thinking of spending the money for a 15 minute sit down with the guy because his fingers are magic and he is very knowledgeable about his profession. Love this place!

This place is one of the best in the area in terms of quality and size. The staff is plentiful and usually able to accommodate walk ins, even on the weekends. They have basic mani/pedi at fair rates for the area, but they also have good add ons like extra massage time, stone massages, callous removal, etc. My only complaint is I wish they’d update their polishes more frequently as many are old.

Place certainly looks nice and decent. I went there on the 23rd of December for a a gel manicure only. I had a SNL powder and the lady said $10.00 to take it off. I said fine but I wanted a gel and tips so they did that. The job done was okay. When it was time to pay, I was charged $150.00. I was as shocked! Next time I went there for filling, it was $77.00 plus tip. The next time I went there again, as early as 9:30am two weeks later, on a because I really needed my nails done, the lady turned me off saying I did not have an appointment and she got someone else coming. She said “ can you go and come back”. I thought she will politely say can you wait for a while. I left and and will never step there again. I got my fillings done at some where else for $55.00 and a better job done as well.

Went to New Montclair spa for mani/pedi based on google reviews and I did not see why it was rated so highly. I went with a few girls (everyone’s first time at this place) and nobody had anything great to say in the end. In my honest opinion, I have gotten far better mani/pedi services at other salons. What I thought was really weird was towards the end, I was walking around and finding all the workers to tip and the lady at the front desk insisted that I leave tip for a worker who didn’t even work on any of the girls in my party. Thought it was super sketchy. Anyways, I will not recommend this place to any of my friends just because of the mediocre service. Facility itself is clean and nice though.

I have to tell you the mani/pedi mediocre at best. Jeeyune is bar far the best manicure place I have ever been but I stopped going for this reason. I went to restroom and I guess one of the immigrant workers there was not used to indoor plumbing and there was human waste in the trash. I was so disgusted I just havent been able to go back but I enjoyed the quality of the work as well as the luxury of the experience. I will not go back to this place unless I am rushed because their hours are convenient

I decided to try someplace new. Although it is NOT the least expensive place Ive been, it does provide a great service. I called on an early Sunday afternoon(12:15ish) to ask if I needed an appointment. She said yes and I offered 1:30 and that was accepted. I arrived exactly 1:30 as I had to look/wait for a parking space in lot at the corner (free on Sundays).I picked my color and was sat at a pedicure station immediately. HOWEVER, the pedicure was not started immediately. I waited awhile but Sandra did a pretty good pedicure. I like their approach to cleanliness--plastic cover for the basin and file, buffer and heel scrub one use! I would prefer the choice of that scrubber or the metal one or the tech should know when to use the metal one.I had to wait for quite a bit to get my gel manicure done but there were some extenuating circumstances (Amys sister was in a car accident). Once it began, there was only 1 interruption but I am satisfied with her technique and although she was having a family issue she remained friendly and didnt rush through but did a great job.While she was massaging my hands, Tony did my shoulders....it was magical. Magical enough that I decided to get a 30min massage. It was quite relaxing, he did a good job, not as magical as the shoulder massage though.Overall, a quiet, serene drama free environment.And...I mentioned that my birthday was the next day and I got a nice hug! She was very apologetic for the delays and thanked me for my patience. :-)I will go back!

The pedicure was first and was very nice, until the girl scraped the side on me heel, otherwise than that no complaints on the pedicure.... The manicure was very fast, I think they really just wanted to get me out of there seeing as half the staff was walking out for the night. Over all the French manicure/pedicure was ok. But not for the price plus tip. In less than 12 hours my nails turned orange. Im not sure why as I havent used any harsh chemicals, such as cleaning products, and only washed with regular hand soap. So thank goodness the wedding I went to kept the reception room dark so no one could see my botched nail job. Dissapointed. I wont be going back.

This unfortunate screwed turned out to be great because I walked up 2 blocks to the new montclair nail & spa i was greeted when i walked in and everyone was pleasant . I loved the mani and pedi . the owner walked 2 blocks to put his own money into meter for me i was impressed that was thoughtful and example how he went above superior service i made my next appt before i left

Worst gel manicure Ive ever had. Two nails chipped and one broke within 5 days and a few days later a few of my nails actually broke. They feel thin and less strong than usual. Not to mention the prices are pretty high.

Very disappointed! The owner went around asking every white person if they wanted something to drink and skipped the black people. Guess we were not good enough even though we are all paying the same prices.

I come here because the owner Joy is a sweetheart! I love the customer service.
