I made an appointment to get a consultation and while speaking to the agent, I informed her that I am very busy with work and my business, so I probably wouldn’t be able to answer the phone all of the time. I was called multiple times during work hours by the most persistent individual. She kept asking for my insurance and intake forms. When I didn’t get back to her when she wanted me to, she canceled my appointment. Why couldn’t she get my insurance information when I got there like most dental offices do? Why was she constantly texting me about the 74 dollar consultation fee that I’d have to pay if I didn’t provide my insurance in advance? They are bullies! There are other dental offices that offer the same services for less and with better customer service. This place is overrated!

I heard of this dentist through a radio advertisement... I rarely read good reviews because any business can hire anyone to give an excellent review...instead I go straight to the bad reviews to see what are customers complaint.... I was considering going there but after reading bad reviews in details...Ive decided to go to Mexico for Dental work... Thanks to all who shared their experience.... I went in for a consultation today. I was told to pay $2000 up front before I can talk to the implant specialist (consultation). I have to risk $2000 without knowing the treatment plan and the cost. Wow, I am speechless. They showed me the door.Some staff are nice.

I have been a patient with Cunning Dental for about 15 years. Ive had cleanings, fillings, root canals, extractions, and each visit has been a positive one. I dont understand some of the negative reviews I read, but I hope some of those folks got their issue resolved. I was there today to have a wisdom tooth removed and as always received first class treatment. The doctors and support staff have been nothing less than excellent in my visits to the Montclair office.

I LOVE Cunning Dental. I have a severe fear of the dentist and the staff at Cunning dental always go out of their way to make me feel as comfortable as possible. They take their time and explain everything they are doing to calm my nerves. I definitely recommend sedation dentistry if you are anything like me. It is quick, easy, and most importantly painless!!

I would not recommend this place to anyone who expects efficient and attentive care. My mother had a full set of upper and lower implants done here and has had numerous repairs and breaks...despite eating soft foods and soup for the most part. We have looked into getting her care done elsewhere, but have been told that the hardware required to service her implants is exclusive to Cunning which means no other implant doctor can take care of her needs.

After my first visit to see about repairing horrible work from my previous dentist, I came home & transferred all of my family to Cunning. Their general dentistry is eons ahead of any other practice Ive visited, & their cosmetic dentistry is the very best, bar none!I can speak from intimate experience: Ive had to, uh, relinquish my teeth due to Sjögrens Syndrome (long story, but short version: no spit = no teeth) & Cunning Dental is painstakingly working with me to perfectly recreate the appearance & functionality of my original, beautiful, God-given teeth! They were pretty, despite the fact they had to go, so when I told them I wanted my All-On-4 permanent dental implants to be a perfect match to them, they all jumped on board to make that happen. What once was GREAT, is no more. If you want to go to a different location they demand that you get permission to do so. Their pricing structure changes by location. If you started in the Montclair office youre not able to visit Irvine or San Diego without managerial approval. It isnt the same place it used to be. I used to refer people to them quite often. I can no longer do so. Beware.

Cunning Dental replaced all my teeth with crowns and they look great. This is a great company that is honest and trustworthy. When one crown fell out they replaced it for free since I was able to save it. They do great work, the crowns look perfectly natural and I feel like a different person with such great teeth now. I highly recommend this company if you need dental work and especially crowns. Dr Derek did my work and he did a great job!!

After reading some of the reviews on here I wanted to take time to review my ACTUAL experience here. First, the staff was very knowledgeable of the different procedures they offer. The staff was very friendly and professional. The dentist that treated me was awesome. The work they preformed for me was amazing. I am very happy I decided to give them a chance.

I had been looking for a dental office to perform the “all on four” procedure. Decided to check out Cunning dental group because of their advertisements. Well, when I was quoted $70,000 for the procensure I informed their insurance lady I’d rather go buy a Cadillac...My smile is not THAT important. Will consider T.J. Instead. Have heard & seen nothing but good reports from there.

I am tired of this practice and others with their dishonest advertising. You dont walk into a dentist office with rotten teeth in the morning and walk out in the afternoon with a new permanent smile in the afternoon as stated by John on KFI. I have a few dental implants and it is a procedure that requires multiple visits. Cunning seems to be a suitable name.

This review is to simply share my experience and protect the general public or anyone who has interest in working with cunning dental. After several months of reliability research and financial considerations, I decided to go with cunning dental and move forward with the procedure. After having settled on the total cost of 38K with Holly L. In the Irvine office, I was excited to get started. However, at the absolute last minute, they decided to increase the cost by over $4000 to take advantage of my commitment to move forward. There was simply no reason at all given why the cost increased literally from one hour to the next. How could I move forward after having experienced the blatant dishonesty and unprofessionalism that exist within the Irvine Cunning dental office. This should definitely be illegal and without a doubt an act that signIfies the lack of integrity and commitment in the best interest of their patients. This is fair warning to those looking to work with cunning dental office in Irvine California. Take my advice and seek better, more professional alternatives. See for yourself and do a Google search for cunning dental reviews and be sure to sort by rating as they more than likely write more recent positive reviews in an effort to push the negative reviews to the second third and fourth pages. I had a complete upper plate of implants done about four years ago. The work is very expertly accomplished and the staff is very courteous. ...Much better than two other very highly touted dental groups that I had initial X-rays performed by. However, even though the process is painless, it will take about four visits in total to complete the procedure - not one, as its advertised by nincompoop Bill Handel, and the cost of periodic cleanings and repairs are quite expensive. However, the one star ratings here are ludicrous and seem to be written by people who were either put up to do it, are in the idiot range with respect to IQ, or who were expecting something for nothing. Pay no attention; youll be well taken care of at Cunning Dental.

They said I had to pay for white filings but mutt insurance says they covered the filings at 100% do now Cunning changes their dirty. Now I have to pay my x- rays. Terrible customer service. Stephanie is rude and has no idea how to deal with Delta Dental billing.In 2009, I really liked them as my dentist and never had any problems with routine dental work, but my husband needed wisdom teeth removed. The procedure seemed fine and we thought everything was fine. A few months later he had severe pain and returned. Apparently the way they broke off the wisdom teeth had allowed a bone spur to grow. They looked at it, prescribed Motrin, and told him to come back in a few weeks if not better. I called and they refused to give any better passion medicine and made him an appointment a week away. He cant sleep and is missing work and they refuse to do anything. This WILL NOT be our dentist any more. Very bad customer service :(

The good news is the doctors are great! The bad news is, once you agree to dental work your relationship changes. They are so very nice to you at the beginning and after you agree to the dental work, they dont treat you as well. I really think (dont have proof) that I was charged at a higher rate than others. When discussing the services and prices, the person is as crafty as a used car salesman. After you sign the papers for services, you will not hear from her again.

Been a patient myself for YEARS. Decided to take my teen daughter because she requires wisdom teeth to be extracted. Unfortunately getting an appointment in a timely manner isnt doable since the oral surgeon is only there on weekends. Ive chosen to take her elsewhere. Beyond disappointed to find a copy of xray is $50. Seems excessive!

I wont bore you with the details but.. a long time ago, I am a dental chicken by the way, I came to a small dental place and was treated like I was a family member. I felt safe and had no fear. But I couldnt afford the work. 15 years later I was in bad shape but had some Money so I went back to cunning and now I see a big facility and a bunch of new people. I needed a lot of work done, I didnt see the kind old gentleman I saw the first time, My dentist was a difficult and painful idiot. The surgeon and staff were really great. the cost was 63,000 dollars u.s. the idiot is gone, the new dentist, although I dont see her every time is beautiful and competent. She is making things right. My only complaint is that its taken almost 3 years to get here. They just rescheduled my on the day I was supposed to get the final set. I just want it to end. This is the true tale and my real name if you dont believe it, look me up. Ill probably be the guy with unfinished dental work.

Im in need of dental implants, Ive been looking around for a good affordable descent dentist, took my time to check this place out via website and reading all the bad reviews definitely made me change my mind, I want good honest dental work not people taking advantage of hard working people that all they want is to feel good about themselves.

This is my first time needing to do dental implants. I was hoping that the dentist would help me to make the right decisions and show me the different options. I went for a consultation on a dental implant but before they even want to talk to me, the dental assistant put me through a CT scan and when i asked him why he said this is a standard procedure protocol. I found out from other dental offices that they did not need to expose me to the powerful radiation on the CT scan unless they are going to do the surgery. I found out later that the CT scan has as much radiation as 200 chest X-rays. I was mislead and was told that they do this to everyone that comes in for consultation. They also tried to take more x-rays on my back teeth section when I told them specifically that I am here just for the front tooth consultation. The dental assistant was nice but insisted that they do this all the time to check on the overall health of patients teeth. This office is shady and has no integrity. They should not mislead patients and the last lady that I talked to was rude and condescending when I try to ask her questions about the insurance and options.Another reason for the low rating was that they can not find my CT scan when I tried calling them to ask for a copy. I know that I did a CT scan because I asked the assistant specifically and now they cant find them and they also said they were going to charge me $450 for the CT scan copy. They knew that I was here for a second opinion so they should inform me the cost of the CT scan before they did the CT scan on me.

Im very understanding of marketing strategies but this is totally disrespectful to the public!!I contacted Cunning Dental about a month ago and strongly suggested they change marketing strategies. Never heard back from them.My family and I have to change channel when this commercial comes on. The air them CONSTANTLY on ABC, and always right around mealtimes.Now, I came here with my tooth in a cup because it had accidentally been knocked out, root and all. These people were rude, and unhelpful. They told me to leave and they would call me, after looking at my insurance.How can they make a patient, in pain, with their own tooth/teeth in hand leave like that!?I went to another dentist who is actually competent, and he put my tooth back in, and treated me with no problems.But these people never called me back. Stay away from this place!

I love Cunning dental in MONTCLAIR back in 2010 I got my teeth done Partial since the rest of my teeth were Saveable Im really scared of the dentist so the sleep density was perfect. Yes they are a little pricey what dentist isnt plus they do a good job and the staff is wonderful and comforting. yes this dentist is not for everyone its expensive and they just take ppo insurance . But the Montclair office is great. MONTCLAIR #1 office. Plus ask questions and other options. If you dont need implanted then do Partials.if you can especially if some teeth our able to be saved . But when the time comes yes I will do implants but not now 😀

The other reviews were 150% DEAD ON but now I know from my own personal experience with my mom.The Cunning Dental team is incredibly amazing to you but only BEFORE they get your money. I mean, they answer your calls and emails instantly. Pretty much roll out the red carpet. You are First Class and Filet Mignon BUT once they have your money, oh you are dead to them. Their tune completely changes and THEY become just HORRIBLE. God forbid you actually need them to do more for you than make an appointment like my mom needed and even then, itll take months to get one and then they leave you feeling like you are a dirt bag for bothering them. This is not an exaggeration. We have left in tears a few times. Its insane that they continue to get away with treating people this way and I had such high hopes in helping to lift reviews but, nope. These people are NOT lying. It is incredibly disappointing and emotionally draining. I have cried. I have begged. I tried to appeal to just their basic human decency in hopes that it would change the way they treated us but nope again. They had our money SO why treat my mom like an actual person. Unreal.Dr. Cunning, I have met you and you are incredibly kind and sweet. Are you really ok with the way some of your staff abuse your patients that have spent an insane amount of money on your services?? I have to believe you are not and you are unaware. Cunning Dental was recommended to me by my barber and Im glad they did a great job.

They are not called “Cunning” for no reason. Even the commercials are fake so should have known in was a scam! THIS PLACE IS A SCAM! They WILL overcharge by hundreds, even thoudands and claim a billing error that they won’t ever resolve! They make their money off new customers who haven’t heard of them. They don’t care about return customers. This place should be shut down and will not last much longer.

They were fairly nice, but were poor at giving me information. Both times I went in I was seen late. I was told that after my $265 co-pay, my insurance would cover the rest. I was never given a bill of the total charges. Months later, I received a bill for almost $700! I called to talk to them and they informed me that they would look into ways to alleviate it. I received a call back and they said they could cut the payment owed in half. I told them I would like to try to get it completely erased. When I called them back recently, they said that I declined the bill of half and I would now have to pay the bill in full. They were not willing to work with me at all, and I do not believe that I was hostile in any way in talking with them. I would not recommend them, and my family has since told me that they will no longer patronize them with their business. I recently saw a dentist in Rancho Cucamonga (Mercer & Mercer). FYI, their rates are 500% less than cunning! And they are wonderful people!

Extremely irritated. Avoid this dentist office if you can. They are over priced and their customer service skills are terrible. I loved my dental assistant, the doctor got the job done but the financial staffing is terrible. I called to cancel my appointment a few days prior to the procedure. The women never notified me as I was setting up my appointment that the sleep would costs 505 alone. After reading the paper work since she failed to acknowledge this cost or discuss it, I choose to cancel. However, she told me she would reimburse me and my bill comes up and I am charged the full $130 for a consultation I never received. I contact them about two weeks post this conversation and cancellation and she is not in the office. Apparently a week later she is still not in the office and whom ever was suppose to contact me liue of this women never called. It’s a shame when you have to harass a business about something they messed up on. I call and they already know who it is. However, that is a really stupid move on their part. I don’t know where you got educated and they told you mess over a customer for 130 dollars over just 505 for the sleep alone for their procedure. That is almost 5x more money...that doesn’t even include the bill for the surgical procedure. I don’t want their money buecause they have lost my business! Customers is what keep bussineses going. So they might want to reanalyze and make better choices and have a more professional staff. The logic in the numbers don’t lie. If I wasn’t away at college I would be in there raising hell. I have tried to be calm and composed but if yoh want to play let’s play.

I hate dentists, period. My experiences over a near 60 years period of time have left me with a very jaundiced view of dentists. And then, I met Dr. Cunning and his staff. To be sure, you pay a premium price, but you get premium service. Ive seen three (four?) of Dr. Cunnings dentists, and each one has proven to be exactly what he/she claimed to be: professional, competent, and well-trained. But, of them all, Dr. Cunning is the best and my absolute favorite; his DA has been with him 25 years and is awesome, knowing what he needs before he even asks. One more thing: As I read the negative reviews on this site, I had to think something is really, really wrong; either there has been complete failure to communicate with Dr. Cunning the nature of the problem(s), or the reviewer(s) are writing from perceived bias. Some of the reviews even appear (to me) to be fraudulent reviews, perhaps placed by an unworthy competitor devoid of integrity.

Beware Worst people ever! Over-charging, not producing documentation at patients request to dispute erroneous charges, and falsely putting a charge-off on my credit record. They lied and said I was contacted but I have never received a call and have had the same number for 20 years now. Stella promised me she would call me back to show proof so I could take care of it, she never did because she has no proof. These people are first class liars! I pay my bills and they had no right to try to mar my good credit history. See you in court.

If you want a consultation Dont bother ... because they will not speak to you unless you take an Xrays which I get... they need to pick you in...i explain I had 3 Xrays done before and I still need it to see a second opinion in a couple of days but their policy was need have Xrays to discuss any planIts a business industry .... they need to pick and seal the deal

Just my opinion. If youre not satisfied with Cunning Dental you should file a complaint with the Dental Board of California.

Their TV commercials are blatant, bald-faced lies.

Make sure you get a name when you cancel an appointment. I neglected to do so and they tried to get me with a cancellation fee (which I agreed to). I called 5 days in advance and was surprised to get a call the night before the appointment I thought I had cancelled.

Thanks for the reviews, I was going to make an appointment with Cunning but changed my mind after the repeated problems from former patients.
