Every once in a while I get my neighbors mail in my mailbox. Some of these are important docs like municipal bills from the city. I wonder who is getting MY important docs.

The reviewer that said this location has a small-town feel was right! They work so hard and try to get you in and out quickly. Even when theres a line of 5+ people, it never feels too long of a wait. The workers are friendly, kind, and frank, and I enjoy coming in to my local post office. They have taken precautions in the retail lobby due to the pandemic (masks, marks on the floor to space out the line, tables in front of the counters to give more room to the employees, sheets of plastic hanging in front of the counter, etc.), but their kind and personable service seems to have only increased. Even with the increase of mail and packages, I feel like my mail is delivered even more regularly than before. So I appreciate that! Thank you for working so hard, USPS!

The Employees when you go inside to mail something are awesome. But delivered mail is screwed up a lot. We have had packages, Mothers Day, Birthday and Christmas cards never delivered. Inquiries made regarding them, and never an answer.

The negative reviews here are the result of a lack of perspective. Maybe these folks have never had to use a post office anywhere else in Los Angeles. The employees here have always been patient and polite to me even though I have a box and come almost every day to receive parcels, some of them heavy. I moved here from the Woodland Hills/Tarzana area where walking in and getting either no line (happens all the time in Monrovia!) or just a few people in line would be unheard of at ANY time of ANY day. I love my new post office!!

The staff at this particular location are horrible. They talk too much when there is long lines, speak condescendingly to customers, and are just generally rude. Lose mail and do nothing to help. Robin, Monica and a few others are disgustingly rude and should not be working here. We need new people working at this location! Too long of lines, unprofessional attire and hair, and customer service are what you will get at this location. DONT GO HERE! Find another location. Run!

I truly hate writing bad reviews but I wish my visits to my local post office could be more enjoyable, but I honestly have not had many good experiences at this office.

Its a Post Office. During busy times, the lines can get 6-8 deep, but the staff is helpful to each person they work with. Ive seen patience rule the day with them. I love coming here as it has a feel of a small town post office. Theres a self serve area and PO box area that stays open late, which I use a lot.Theres been a spate of mail theft in the neighborhood. We needed to repair our condo mailboxes, and a rep from here came out on a few occasions to open the main box so we could assess the damage from a break in. They were knowledgeable about solutions and suggested some for us. They said to call them anytime and they would come out whenever we needed.Best group of postal workers around!

They only make one attempt to deliver a package, and they leave a door tag with no information or online data. So it gets returned to sende .Completely lazy and useless... Typical union mentality to do the least work possible.Although its not like reviewing a post office will make a bit of difference.

I wondered about the poor ratings since I have lived in Monrovia for 15 years and always had friendly, helpful service, but I think today I met the cause of the poor ratings. I had the misfortune of being assisted by C. Butler, and she came across abrubt and incompetent. At one point she claimed the tracking number I brought was not one the post office uses until I informed her that I had already called their office and confirmed my package was there, at which point she consigned herself to actually look for it (and found it). I still saw some of the same friendly help there, so I think it depends on who you get, but obviously management is failing to ensure all care about good customer service. I would give the office a 5 star, but subtracted 1 for her (it should have been more) but I feel sorry for the long time employees in the front who have been nice over the years.

Ive had great service a few times; but the last time was simply ridiculous. I was shipping toys and clothes to my nephews birthday. I grabbed a large box and took it home. I packed everything inside the box and added a pair of socks to the top before taping it up. The socks caused a slight bulge in the package under the taped portion....by slight I mean about 1mm of bulge. The lady at the front said that Id have to pay more for the oversize package....about 10 bucks more...I laughed and walked out. I went to Sierra Madre Post Office and they were friendly and gladly took the package...untouched. I live on N. Ivy Ave....I will not be back. I will go to the post office in Sierra Madre when I pick my daughter up from school. Bunch of lazy workers, I think they have contests of how many people they can leave dissatisfied and pissed off.

I recently put a stack of paid bills in the mail, including a payment on my credit card. But I failed to put a stamp on the credit card envelope. It was near the due date for the payment, and I intended to deliver the payment by hand. By mistake, I put the unstamped envelope in the mail. Some kind soul at the Post Office noticed my mistake, and covered the postage for me and sent the payment through. It was posted by my bank the day it was due, saving me a ton of late fees and interest (I have a big balance.)Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Bad customer service! like if the lady was in a bad mood. She gave me information that I didnt ask, she told me my mail was not guarantee out of the county. That they can do anything they want with my mail once is out of the county. Okay thanks for the info. Just what I wanted to know.

Im not really one to write reviews but i kinda had it with this place; lazy, rude on the phone and arent really interested in helping anyone; i called them about 4 days ago because i had a tracking number that i thought was wrong, i threw my receipt out so i couldnt compare, after almost a week of inactivity i called the post office to see if they might have my transaction on record and give me the tracking number to compare to what i had, well the lady on the phone didnt even let me finish talking and cut me off half way and told me im sorry sir we cant do that then i asked he if she could take down the address it was going to thinking maybe its sitting in the back somewhere and they could notify me if they found it. It was a struggle to even get this woman to do that. The worst part is i shipped it from that post office using their packing and their inflated rate and its been over a week and a half now and still no delivery yet. Please do yourself a favor and go to another post office, they will lose your stuff.

Although many say bad things about this place Ive never had anything like that the workers probably get agitated with people not being ready or having their things prepared. Ive always gone in waiting no longer than 10 mins if theres a line and finished right away.

Hi folks,I normally do not write review whether the service is good or bad but I the service at Monrovia Post office was poor enough for me to write one.I get two days off a week and I decided to visit the post office on one of them.I lost my passport and I require a new one in order to travel. I am not sure why thi particular Post office offers this service if they do NOT like to do it.I went in The Monrovia Post office as soon as I walked in I saw a sign stating passport service. So I waited in front of the desk where you are supposed to. 15-min passed by I am still waiting keep in mind there is staff people looking at me knowing what I am there for every 40 sec they look at me and still no one helps me.Another 15- pass and I am still waiting. I am well aware that they close the passport service at 3pm the time was now 2:30pm ( Thursday Jan 10 2013). I felt as if they were waiting for 3pm in order for them to help me and if so were they planning to simply say the time is now 3pm passport service is closed? After the long wait I decided to leave and visit a different post office in Duarte CA. I arrived at 2:45pm and they manage to get me in and out with in 15 minutes (yes, I had all paperwork ready to go).Long story short, Do not visit the Monrovia Post office for passport service, unless you have multiple hours to spare. I was very disappointed especially since they are my local office.Staff are lazy and do not care about customer service.
