Dont take your Subaru to a dealership for service. Take it to Suby Specialties instead. Honest, reasonably priced, good service. And it hits a lot of my buttons - a local, small, woman-owned business.

I hate to write this negative review but the last couple of times I have been to Mary I have left with a very sour taste in my mouth. Steve was the owner when I first brought my car in about 6 years ago and he was an amazing, knowledgeable, trustworthy and fair mechanic. He earned his clients and always did an amazing job when servicing my vehicle and charging me a fair price and never did extra work that I did not need. I hate to say this, but Mary lacks the experience that Steve had, does not give fair quotes and takes a really long time working on the vehicle. Im sorry Mary but I have been having the worst time trying to replace my headlights, it would have been nice if you recommended where to get them from and not tell me you are too busy to help put the new ones in. Good luck with your business but I am going to look for a more honest trustworthy mechanic.

Been to Suby Specialties only once with my 2008 Legacy. Steve had treated me with utmost courtesy that I had observed him treat other customers at his shop, as well. I will now start taking my 2016 Legacy there again; only wish it wasnt so hard to schedule time at his shop. Steve certainly is busy!

The old owner Steve is gone and the new people are crooks. I brought my car here for transmission work. They told me it would take 3 weeks. After the first month went by, I started calling on a weekly basis for status updates because their voicemail box is always full, so you cant even leave a message for them to call back. Every week they told me they were too busy to get started on it. I dont know why they told me they could do it in three weeks, because after three months, the car was still not done and they refused to give me an estimate as to when they could finish it. At that point, I got the Bureau of Automotive Repair involved since the shop had stopped answering the phone, and their voicemail was full. Going on four months, I got a call through to them and they said they were still not done, and still refused to give me an estimate of when to expect it. At wits end, I told them I was going to have to resort to the legal system to get my car back. Magically, the next day the car was done, as I learned via a very nasty email. However, they gave me less than 12 hours to pick it up, and since I wasnt able to get there in 12 hours after having waited four months, they retaliated by putting a lien on my car to try to sell it. We called the BAR and the BAR sent a representative to the shop, and thankfully negotiated to prevent a lien sale. They also began charging us for storage on the vehicle, and backcharged for storage even before the date of its completion, which we have a record of on the lien papers they threatened us with. When we finally picked up the car, we saw that they had charged us an additional $180 non-negotiable rush fee for my impatience and disrespect to the people ahead of me. (Meaning, I suppose, that they make everyone wait 4+ months for their cars, and anyone who gets their work done more quickly is jumping ahead.) Unsurprisingly, the car came to us in worse shape than it went out, with lots of rattling and weird sensations in the manual shifting mechanism. So after reclaiming the vehicle we went over it and found that the work was not complete, most notably incorrect parts were used in the shifter assembly, and it was not fully reassembled, which was leading to awkward shift engagement behavior. After all that, we had to finish the car ourselves at home.Below please find the email we received from them after waiting four months for our car to be completed (also note that their threats/claims about the battery were false, the battery and cable are good):Dear Steven,Your vehicle is complete!I refuse to do any other work for you due to your impatience and total disrespect for my business. You can pick your car up tomorrow between noon-2pm and only then, if you show up early you will be stuck waiting. I still need to go over it tomorrow before I release it.You do however need to bring a battery and positive battery terminal, due to your battery being 6 years old and not holding a charge and leaking acid! As well as the tools for you to replace it.Due to your impatience you also have been billed an extra two hours for bugging and disrespect to the people ahead of you. If you remember back to when you dropped the car off (which you magically forgot on your notes FYI) I told you I was a week and a half behind and I would not be able to start on it as promised. You agreed and chose to left your vehicle.If your vehicle is not picked up by 2pm tomorrow I will fill out paperwork to lien sale the vehicle and have it ready to go for Monday morning when the lien company comes back to work.This is NON-NEGOTIABLE.Your final total is $2,537.33See you tomorrow.

I’ve been calling and leaving messages all week and no ones called me back . I got a quote a couple of weeks ago and finally wanted to make an appointment to have my car fix and now no one answers the phone or calls anyone back . Trash customer service
